It annoying isnt it when you cant enjoy the later sleep cos your doing dummys or in my case listening to her fidget and stir thinking "any minute now" The prozac is working, there have been several situations like dh breathing that id have normally lost the plot but didnt. Tis good stuff.I actually quite like my dh at the moment and i should be hating him as im mid cycle, still theres time yet.
Arent we all naughty with the baby rice,i reckon we should all go over to aibu, people get very passionate about early weaning even tho a few yrs go that was the norm Confused
Morning Wiggles, have anice day with ya folks and Delias enjoy the fish eating ducks Grin I love your reasoning btw, there are ducks on the thames therfore we shall eat them, hawhaw

Deliaskis · 02/07/2011 10:19

LOL Ledkr mn cracks me up sometimes, 'groupthink' is so passionately against early weaning, but so passionately for everything else being according to each individual baby's needs (thou shalt not have a routine, thou shalt bf on demand, etc.). - apparently for weaning all babies are identical and cannot possibly have anything before 6 months, whereas in everything else, all babies are different and we must take their cues. Blah blah blah, massive pinch of salt needed (but not for babies, natch).

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Dx

wiggles - I've just seen the news and hope Mr wiggles is OK? I think you're in Belfast but can't remember. Blush

L slept 6 straight hours last night! Unfortunately they were the hours between 9 and 3 and he was up for the day at 5. Angry I had a horrible headache (couldn't even watch TV) so woke DH at 7, took a handful of nurofen and went back to bed until 11.30. I think I'll try ledkr's garden idea tonight.

tadjennyp · 02/07/2011 18:52

You're welcome ladies! I hope bedtime is going well too. Now if I could convince Sammy that he needs a morning nap, I could start the mound of washing there always is after visitors leave... Sad

Hope headache is gone american and also that Mr W is not involved with policing those riots.

ledkr · 02/07/2011 19:01

I thought of Mr W too,but Wiggles takes it all in her stride.

american yes do try it,im convinced, did you see the thread there was an overwhelming majority. I find it works best if its for half an hr directly before bath and bed,i jsut lie her on a blanket or in her bouncer or yesterday i read books to her,we just took her for along walk in the buggy so hope we have more rest tonight,it was a nice excuse to buy some chocolater too Grin
Oh hope headache is gone too, there was someone mumsnetting in sunglasses yesterday due to one haha.
Tad did you send us the sleep fairy vibes.

byronicheroine · 02/07/2011 19:18

Just popping in to say hi before heading O.U.T! Can you tell I'm excited? K is in the bath and then I'll feed him, I'm half ready so he might not recognise me (rarely get makeup on these days!)
deb love the menu, hope you have fun
everyone else, enjoy your evenings ;)

wigglesrock · 02/07/2011 20:24

Thank you all for your concern, Mr W isn't based in Belfast (he can't work where he grew up, too many bold boys and girls Grin ) I'd be lying if I said I wasn't slightly shiteing myself but needs must!

Had lovely day today, weather is gorgeous here and both my neighbours have just lit the bbq, considering going on a sausage scrounge but what would Gillian say, need to start shredding again Blush

byronicheroine have a great time tonight, Olivia was most unimpressed when I had my make up done for my sisters wedding Grin Hope head isn't too woolly in the morning.

I gave Anna a strawberry today, I have never seen her look so delighted with herself, it was lovely.

Have a good night everyone and hope babies sleep well and most importantly aren't up at stupid o'clock in the morning xx

debka · 02/07/2011 20:43

Hey all, had an early start here, 6.15, boo.

Had a proper lovely afternoon at my sister's 30th, saw lots of folk and the girls behaved really well. Imogen discovered the joys of the Chocolate Fountain, I have taught her well Grin

I used to be a bit sniffy about early weaning too but having read a bit more about it, and being (briefly) involved with the EAT study, I really think that unless you're doing it stupid early, like 6 weeks, it makes bugger all difference. I mean, everyone does it, pretty much, and there isn't an epidemic of sick poorly babies is there? Apparently there is NO evidence that early weaning causes allergies at all! I haven't started S but only because a) I really can't be faffed Blush and b) when I have tried to give her anything she pulls a face, chokes then spits it out!

byronic it's not me doing the super Henley menu, it's delia- nowt as fancy as that in the debka house tonight- we had tortelloni with frozen peas and frozen sweetcorn, pesto and creme fraiche, takes 5 minutes, gotta love it Grin

reastie where are you? Think we might be in your neck of the woods tomorrow, we're going to a craft show at Squerries Court in Westerham so DH can check out the competition.

wigglesrock · 02/07/2011 21:02

debka lol at Imy and chocolate fountain, Olivia discovered Nutella when we were on holiday Grin, needless to say it went on my list as things you can't have until you're 8, apart from on holiday. She also took full advantage of all the "free" ice-cream - didn't have the heart to tell her that all-inclusive is not the same as free Grin Anna was completely non plussed at the little bit of baby rice I gave her, but strawberries completely different matter. I used to be sniffy about dummies and Cbeebies and then my wonderous, non sleeping, constantly questioning Olivia came along Grin.

ledkr · 02/07/2011 22:02

we came to bed at 9,45 ON A SATURDAY NIGHT what is going on?We are reading mn and eating chocolate.rock and roll. Wiggles did mash the strawb? Dilly had her usual rice but has been such a little winger i gave her a farleys rusk to hold and chomp on,she loved it haha. She has never really drunk more than 4-5oz of milk so i figure ahe needs a boost but like Deb i cant be arsed to make it a staple as yet.

wigglesrock · 02/07/2011 22:35

ledkr No, I cut it into wedges and she sucked it until it mushed Shock, I'm just trying bits and pieces with her, a bit like you couldn't be arsed actually making it part of her day, just seeing what she does with it! Chocolate in bed does sound quite rock 'n' roll to me Grin

debka · 03/07/2011 07:03

Hope there were good nights all round. I've got S on my lap, she just farted then looked at me and burped, the little charmer Grin

wiggles what will you do when Olivia is 8?????

wigglesrock · 03/07/2011 07:27

debka locking her away in a convent or myself Grin

ledkr · 03/07/2011 09:11

Wiggles only chocolate tho,and we ate it from the pack,we'd have found more interesting ways before im sure.
deb dilly lifts her bum and strains to fart all whilst eyeing me suspiciously, cracks me up.
Well sad to report baby ledkr was awake at 5 after thrashing about for half the night keeping me awake.Dh got up with her before i had a meltdown,i feel bad as its his first day off but sod it he's younger.I can conclude that whilst i defo think the light before bed works that overtiredness also equals an early morning.I notice if she practically falls asleep on her last bottle she wakes early. She is sleeping now,i am in bed and dh and Ella have gone for a walk!!Up the hills,to see Deer.
olivia sounds like Ella tbh, send her off to perform.Ella is always in ,some show or another,it harnesses it Grin I think being with me on her own for so long with 3 doting big bros didnt help.At nursery i remember she was told off and she put her hands on her hips and said "how dare you shout at me" oh dear, she was 2.

ledkr · 03/07/2011 09:12

W,did you stay off the fags still?Meant to ask.

40Weeks · 03/07/2011 09:38

Eugh don't mention fags, smoked last night. Am still in bed in last nights clothes, am absolutely minging. Went to a friends bday party. Thank god I expressed milk as I must have been toxic. Vom vom vom

Am off now to catch up......

wigglesrock · 03/07/2011 09:44

ledkr laughing at Ellas hands on hips, I have two maybe three performers here Grin Sofia asks sometimes "why I make her life hard" Grin ffs she's only 6, not sure how she is going to handle 12/13 and a mummy who knows all the tricks Grin

Mmmm re the smokes, does it count if they're Spanish and so cheap its practically a sin not to take advantage Grin In answer to your question - no, I haven't bought any! Grin

Taking the girls out for the day, Mr W home and tucked up in bed so the 4 of us are heading to the Aquarium - my sister's coming too, should be fun Hmm

Enjoy your day x

wigglesrock · 03/07/2011 09:58

40Weeks your brush with fame going to your head, leading the rock 'n' roll lifestyle now Grin The last time I woke up in last nights clothes was because I was so bloody exhausted when I was pregnant I fell asleep trying to settle O Grin

ledkr · 03/07/2011 10:03

40 I always smoke when i go out,i never know if my hangover is from booze or cigs. Glad you had a good one tho,and you have a non toxic supply untill you've detoxed Grin
wiggles the holiday fag, cheap and relaxing.Enjoy the fish.Day in the garden here with moany knickers (delilah)

byronicheroine · 03/07/2011 11:30

Gah, why am I up? (tis 1.30 here!)
last night was fun but I feel your pain 40weeks on that note why are YOU up??
I got in about 3 and K woke up at 6, but I ignored let DP deal with him. Did pick up a random guy while waiting at the metro for my friend, but when I dropped baby into the conversation he just started asking my mates if they wanted kids, when and how many. We lost him soon after that!
Sorry deb sounds good anyway. Wooly head obv started early!

janedoe25 · 03/07/2011 12:27

Hi girls, I am taking a break from the thread for a bit, i will probably lurk but won't post for a few days. I hope you are all ok and the hangovers are easy on you! Grin Speak soon.

Emski76 · 03/07/2011 13:18

I hope you are ok Jane. Post whenever you feel ready

ledkr · 03/07/2011 14:12

Hope all is well jane-as well as can be expected,do what you feel you need to,remember things can only get better, you have faced the ultimate thing that a human being can do-the loss of their child and are still fighting on.Pm me if you need to,lots of love xxxxx

reastie · 03/07/2011 14:51

hello all,

not caught up yet as been laptop-less since yesterday - mine finally gave up on me but am here to brag about on my new macbook Grin . I have gone onto the other side and am now a mac user Hmm . will catch up and be back proper style later but alice screaming

Deliaskis · 03/07/2011 15:21

Hope you're OK jane. Totally understand your need to sometimes step away, but don't forget we're always here if you need us. Hopefully see you back here soon.

reastie I am v Envy of your macbook. I was looking into them a few weeks ago but couldn't justify the expense when there is nothing actually wrong with our laptop!

wiggles ROFL at 6yr old asking why you make her life hard! I wonder at what point she might look back and realise that possibly, just possible, she might on occasion have made your life hard too!

Ledkr and Deb have similar farting baby. This afternoon she wriggled for a bit, did a massive fart, whilst also blowing bubbles out her mouth, all with bottle still in situ. Nice.

Sorry to Byronic and 40weeks with minging hangovers.

Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend (ish) and enjoying the sun.

Take care and sending sleep wishes to those that need them.
