american I agree with borg - if we entertain them all the time not only will we go crazy but they'll come to expect it in the future. borg I lol at how you suddently start singing to your lo like that - I do the same only alice often does a mad panicked scared look when I do Shock

suzy I'm Envy of all this talk of massages and queen size beds

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow [sarcastic] - alices jabs AND coil fitting in one day Shock

Quick q - have just set up travel cot downstairs for daytime naps so i dont have to bother taking her upstairs which btw is mahoosive Wink - does anyone know if regular cot mobiles fit travel cots or if there's somewhere you can buy mobiles for travel cots [clueless] ?

tadjennyp · 28/06/2011 21:26

I'm mean and S doesn't have a mobile at all! Good luck for tomorrow reastie.

wigglesrock · 28/06/2011 22:12

byron Hello, also having a giggle at foreign mothers club, enjoy the chaffeuring Grin

suzy also vvv Envy at hotel sleep. I use SMA, Anna will have either the cartons or powder but I know a few babies who will have one but not the other Hmm A will guzzle anything, we ran out of powder when away and I just bought the local formula and she wolfed it down without any hesitation. Most of the other mums I know who ff use Aptamil.

reastie I've seen travel cot mobiles somewhere, try Boots website? I'm like tadjenny Anna didn't have a mobile until 2 weeks ago when my mum was up for a nosy at the new cot and took great umbrage at the cot looking so big and "uncosy" - and she ran out to Argos and bought her one!!! Shock

american I don't have play time as such with A, I just natter away, I don't sing, I don't want to be rejected by a 4 month old, and yes my voice is that bad, 4 children in my primary school class weren't picked for the school choir and I was one of them, I'm not sure the other three actually technically attended the school past the first week of term, thirty years on the memory still burns Grin

Just finished watching Luther, am afraid my Idris Elba crush may be developing into full blown obsession!!

chocoroo Hope TT are making all your dreams come true Grin

Four4me · 28/06/2011 22:28

Another hot day here!

Jane you and your df are in my thoughts.x

Busy day, Rhythm Time with Imogen and Archie. I had a tooth extracted -ouch! Boys had friends to play and tea then I've just been out for a quick curry with friends (eaten slowly with sore mouth)!!!!! Now express and bed - phew!

Catch up properly when have more than a minute. Take care.

ledkr · 28/06/2011 22:50

Oh wiggles,me first,it all started with the wire, glad to see we dont all have poofy taste in men (take that) and some of us like a rougher type Grin Wasnt it good too?Where was Alice tonight?

I am a little confused about the name changers,i went to paris and then when i came back borg was here, are you new borg or an elderly name changer?

Night all xx

americanexpat · 28/06/2011 23:12

tadjennyp - L isn't a British citizen due to our immigration status. So we had to get him an American passport and pay an extortionate fee to the Home Office who will hopefully decide he'll be allowed to stay. Hmm I remember you had some immigration worries a few months ago? Maybe we should team up and show them their net immigration is zero. Grin

wiggles - I'm imagining you literally juggling Anna, the knife and a cake. Grin

WeAreBorg - haha, love the image of you randomly bursting into song.

reastie - good luck with the coil and jabs.

debka - I admit we're a bit loose with the formula guidelines, L has not been poisoned (yet). He's already accustomed to my laziness and will drink a bottle straight from the fridge. [slattern AND lazy emoticon]

tadjennyp · 29/06/2011 02:00

Yes American I am still waiting for my biometrics appointment for the green card - dh had his a few weeks ago. S is an American citizen as he was born here and has his American passport but we are paying a fortune to the British Embassy in DC for a British passport and to register his birth. A copy of his registration is around $140! Shock They say on the website they make no profit, in which case I'll do a hand written calligraphy certificate for that price! Grin I'm sorry, I thought your dh was British but then couldn't remember which way citizenship passes anymore. There would be some jobsworth at the airport who would stamp his passport for a 3 months stay, wouldn't there? I hope you get it sorted soon. Apparently they are all reciprocal so if the Brits charge the Americans for something, they do it the other way too.

Hope your mouth feels better soon 44me.

Sending lots of sleepy vibes. x

debka · 29/06/2011 08:12

My little bundle of joy was awake at 6am today, oh joy, she was funny though, I could hear her thumping away and when I went in she'd turned all the way round!

Not sure what to do about Imy's sleep atm, if she has a rest during the day she plays in her bed at night until 9pm before she drops off. If she DOESN'T have a sleep she's a miserable grumpy thing and grumpy 2yo are NOT NICE. What do you think O Experienced Ones?

reastie coil and jabs, lovely, good luck!

reastie · 29/06/2011 08:23

deb I'm making this up but would it help if imys day time nap was earlier in the day? then she might be more reading for bed at night? if that doesn't work then try sending her to work in the mines or up the chimneys for the afternoon to tire her out Grin Wink

alice up at 5 . am trying to coax her for a nap pre jabs trip but all i can hear is lots of noisy chatter Hmm - if only I had one of those video monitors Envy Wink . not looking forward to today at all, but, secretly hopefuly coil fitting won't be today as yesterday they hadn't had my swab results back yet and I can't have coil without them Grin

lovely and fresh outside at the min Grin

wonder how choc got on last night with tt

foreign correspondant byron glad you're ok with all those riots demonstrations

ledkr I think borg was wobblybum but I have been known to get these things muddled Hmm

debka · 29/06/2011 08:30

she wouldn't sleep if I put her in bed earlier, reastie, it'll have to be the mines Grin

Read about a woman having her coil fitted under GA in AIBU yesterday- idea???

ledkr · 29/06/2011 08:31

debIs she getting enough sleep overall? If the if the late bedtime concerns you then can you make her nap earlier and shorter.I remember Ella at that age, she'd only have to fall asleep in the car for 5 mins and she couldnt go off at bedtime, not fun no. Dilly thumps when she wakes up too. She was true to form and woke about 6 but for once she went back off while i drank tea and watched liza minneli on loose women, twas lush.
Ella has a ballet exam today so im sewing ribbons on shoes this am then have dentist, almost as bad as reasties day, good luck.
I suppose chocco will be on soon, banging on about take that Grin

ledkr · 29/06/2011 08:34

oh id like a ga for that too, might ask.And for my next smear and any further treatment.

WeAreBorg · 29/06/2011 08:47

ledkr i was indeed wobblybum but decided since my successful weight loss Hmm i should change my name.
The Wire - I don't get it, I patiently watched the entire first series but was not addicted at all. And I get addicted to just about all american TV series, someone said I would need to watch for 3 seasons to properly get into it but really don't have the concentration now.
suzy i don't live in the expensive bit, it's very studenty bohemian here!
Coils eek, you are brave although mirena is meant to be wonderful i hear.

wigglesrock · 29/06/2011 09:08

40Weeks have you something you want to tell us? Per chance did Mikey make his television debut this morning Grin. Disclaimer I didn't see it - Mr W's guilty pleasure is Bill and Sian and he was talking about it and he said a Mumsnetter was on and he thinks Mikey was the babys name, although he isn't sure Hmm

reastie · 29/06/2011 09:10

deb funnily enough I had to go to gynaecologist a few years ago to have ga for a coil fitting following an unsucesful insertion attempt with gp Confused . Long story but gynae apt took months to come through - then had to have scan for pcos and by the time I saw the gynae again (about 8 months after being referred) he had forgotten why I had been referred and had a medical student in with him and told me he didn't really fancy doing a ga and gave me a pat on the back and told me to just deal with all the horrible side effects the pill gave me Shock . might have to do ga if this doesn't work but very Confused Shock Hmm by the idea if i'm honest

ledkr gl ella in ballet - just as well it's not roasting hot for it

wigglesrock · 29/06/2011 09:19

ledkr fight you for Idris, Have a good time at the dentist Hmm, hope Ellas exam goes well.

WeAreBorg I couldn't get into the Wire either, I tried the whole time I was pregnant but no joy, its no Without A Trace Grin.

american and tad my nice younger bil is in Washington and he went through so much money, time trying to get visa/immigration status organised. He eventually went down the time honoured route of marrying his long time American girlfriend Grin My cousin has been in Australia for 5 years and he has literally spent thousands trying to get residency. He was home last month and was pleased that he could a holiday visa allowing him back in! Mr W has ended up writing loads of references etc for him, apparently they still like policemen there Grin

chocoroo · 29/06/2011 09:23

Morning!

Well, the cut the "banging on" short for ledkr 's sake.....Take That were awesome. I cried real tears when Robbie came on stage - I've been waiting a long, long time to see them all together again. The show was absolutely awesome, it's always good but they all seemed to be really enjoying themselves. Fab night!

R seemed to be fine without me...she even sat up to the dinner table withe DP and his parents. Apparently MIL kept trying to give her a lettuce leaf which isn't exactly ideal weaning food.

Haven't caught up with everyone yet, been too busy buying merchandise on line - the card machines all went down when I was trying to spend £100 on Take That tat. Fortunately I have only spent £60 online!

Have good days...baby sensory today for us.

wigglesrock · 29/06/2011 09:28

chocoroo glad you had a fab time, were they all very handsome Grin?

debka · 29/06/2011 09:45

choc you cried Grin

Had some good advice on sleep board- will try reducing the nap to 45 mins,

S still asleep since 7.45....

chocoroo · 29/06/2011 09:54

They were all lovely. Just lovely.

deb Sleep issue sounds dull. It just makes everything else so difficult. I have no advice but have biscuits I can share if at all gets too much!

led Also see the Idris attraction...am midway through season 2 of the Wire at the mo. I love it!

American good luck with the passports and visas. I guess at least it keeps someone in a job...

Four4me · 29/06/2011 09:58

choc glad you had a fab time.

Good luck Ella !

I was going to suggest early nap time debka but if it doesn't work what about only letting her have a short nap if she isn't too unbearable when woken. Hopefully it is just a blip and she goes back to normal in a couple of days. I remember fondly singing like a woman possessed when driving anywhere with the two boys at that age to stop illegal napping, also over zealous pointing out of tractors, bikes, cows etc.

The poor mouth is very sore and I've been up in the night necking soluble cocodamol! But my lovely ds2 put a £1 coin in an envelope for me under my pillow from the tooth fairy. How sweet!

reastie hope appts go well. I did the same two weeks ago Archie had jabs and I had a smear ten mins apart.! Good to get it over with at once, said after the event.

40Weeks · 29/06/2011 09:59

wiggles yes it was me and Mikey on BBC breakfast!!

Catch up on other posts later; in car on way home

Four4me · 29/06/2011 09:59

debka · 29/06/2011 10:07
