The other thread ended and I didn't know where you went Blush, no wonder Nate is a thickie as well. He is still refusing to do anything clever or interesting! Have tried to skim read but forgotten everything as usual.

Hope choc has a nice time at TT, I quite like them but was never a big fan (was an indie kid, or at least a very scruffy kid), although Howard did used to come to our local Asda and I saw him choosing some lettuce once.

ledkr and ponyo Nate is not snuggly either, I wait until he is asleep sometimes then cuddle him otherwise he kicks me. He likes being carried, and always wants attention but otherwise prefers a safe distance Confused. He has decided to start shouting whenever I leave the room now which is annoying then laughs when I come back. Has also started doing a fake cough when he wants me to look at him, strange child.

44me I think it was you, I get confused between you and 40 weeks Grin at your baby doing an andy from little britain, I love the idea that they are running about whilst we're not looking! Nate used to go from the bottom to the top of his cot and wake himself up wedged in the corner but doesn't do it now as he is too lazy.

debka i was going to ask about clever Sabine sitting - is this properly straight up and for how long? Nate has "sat" but only with me "arranging" him so he sort of hovers sort of bending forwards for about 10 seconds then faceplants! I don't think that counts but he can't do anything else so we're practicing.

wigglesrock · 28/06/2011 11:06

WeAreBorg wondered where you where? Grin They moved when I was on holiday, think we should get the hint Wink

Lol at Nate face planting, Anna side plants when I sit her up, only try and sit her up upstairs, knew those pesky wooden floors would come back to haunt me. Anna is also a bit of a shouter, when she can't see me. She's not a huge snuggler, likes being carried, hence my new found crush on the baby walker!! Sofia was exactly the same, Olivia the complete opposite, anyone would think these babies had minds of their own Grin

WeAreBorg · 28/06/2011 11:19

wiggles yes it's funny, they have no concept of putting their arms out to save themselves yet much to DHs disgust! I am waiting for a bouncer thingy (rainforest jumperoo thing) as currently his lordship must be standing or must be bouncing, unless of course I am standing or bouncing, so figured this might free me up a bit? I just had visions when I was pregnant that all 3 of us would be snuggled up on the sofa watching films while he gurgled and cooed happily, er no!

We have wooden floors too, I just sit him up on one particular bed which sags (yes we have lovely things in our house) so I think the sagging bit helps him balance.

Speaking of sagging I have been trying (very hard) to do some exercise but not gyms seem to have a creche except david lloyd which Shock wanted the baby also to join the gym - yes as well as me paying a monthly fee, so would he! WTF do they think he can do? Although would like to see him in a spinning class.

janedoe25 · 28/06/2011 11:36

Four months ago i said hello and goodbye.

Although I cannot see you
I know just where you are
By day you are my sunshine
By night my brightest star.

For my beautiful Zoe, love you to the moon and back Zoe bear xxxx

The sun is out today for my girl, so im going out to enjoy it with a long walk.

borg Grin at the idea of babies doing a spinning class!

chocco Enjoy! I dont like Robbie being back i have developed a disliking to him.

thank you wiggles and ledkr

LOL at reastie

Sorry if i missed anyone out.

wigglesrock · 28/06/2011 11:54

jane enjoy your walk, sun is also shining here too, Zoe must be spreading her love everywhere today.

ledkr · 28/06/2011 12:02

gloomy here but muggy,i did a bit of a half hearted shred cos too hot and D was moaning, but it buys me some extra ww points.

jane every day must be like some marker to you,i hope it gets easier to bear. When you are looking after Zoes bro or sis you will be so busy it should be easier then,in the meantime, take your time, its such early days still.

wigglesrock · 28/06/2011 14:57

Lovely day here, not too warm Grin but nice and sunny. Sofias' teacher sent them all home with a lovely book that she had written a little message in and she had laminated a photo of the class that was taken on their school trip - isn't that lovely?

Waiting on Mr W coming home, after yesterday being such a long day, he's skiving on a course today, then off for a few days Grin

byronicheroine I'm terrible, can't remember whereabouts you are, but hope you are all relaxing in the sun and not getting caught up in any disruption. You can tell I'm from NI, BBC calls them riots, to us just a wee bit of trouble Grin

reastie · 28/06/2011 15:05

jane I've been thinking of you on and off all day - I looked to the sky with alice earlier and said hello to zoe bear. x

baby sensory this morning ponyo I know you like to hear all about it Grin . Todays was sweltering as really muggy and no windows and we wern't allowed doors open - something to do with making too much noise for the neighbours Shock Grin . So alice and I were peeling our clothes from ourselves as we went outside at the end, which was lovely and cool compared to the hall Hmm . We played a parachute game involving bubbles which alice loved and a tummy time game where they had to lie on different furry textured rugs - don;t think this had been thought through as all the fluff from the furry rug came off on alice hands and I spent the rest of the morning trying to get fur from her hands and mouth Shock

choc was that tt you're seeing tonight Wink

ems keep meaning to ask - did slumber bear arrive? Is it any good?

Emski76 · 28/06/2011 15:20

Mad busy here but just wanted to say hi to all
Jane, wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you today, as always.
Reastie, bear hasn't arrived yet! Should be here this week, I hope!

40Weeks · 28/06/2011 15:56

Hello everyone

just popped in to say hi, thinking of you Jane and your precious Zoe, tell her thank you for the sunshine xx

janedoe25 · 28/06/2011 18:01

Thanks girls, you you all know how to make me Smile when i need it most, thank you.

I didn't go for a walk, couldn't face bumping into anyone today. I spent the day cleaning and sitting with Zoe in her room. Df is back tomorrow thankfully, cos i really need a hug.

Oh, i am going dress shopping tomorrow, really can't get excited about it Hmm

reastie i like hearing about baby sensory too, it all seems very random Grin Hope you managed to de-fuzz Alice!

tadjennyp · 28/06/2011 18:02

Hello everyone. Just wanted to send my love to Jane and Zoe today. Mum and Dad still here so busy busy, but it's lovely how much attention the dcs are getting. Have a fab time at TT tonight! Hope Byronic is ok in Athens. It's even making the news over here! Shock Please don't feel guilty about supplementing American - the only thing that matters is a thriving baby, however he gets there.

americanexpat · 28/06/2011 19:03

jane - I was thinking about you and Zoe today as we took a walk in the sunshine. A lovely sunny day in honour of Zoe.

tadjennyp - in reality, I know I shouldn't feel guilty but in the antenatal clinic, on the ward, etc. I was bombarded with reasons why bfing is best, the benefits to me and the baby. Everything else with his birth when tits up so having to "settle for second-best" (no offense to any FFers, that's how I feel it's portrayed in the NHS) made me feel like I couldn't do anything right.

I left L on his playmat Sunday while I was mixing a cake in the kitchen, came back and couldn't find him (cue panic). He'd managed to get himself under a chair (Ikea Poang) about 10 feet away from where I left him. Another mum of the year moment for me.

tadjennyp · 28/06/2011 19:17

You sound like you're having a tough time at the moment, American, sorry. It is great that L can move that far all by himself! S hasn't managed to get that far yet at all. But then he's my third so I can't even remember when milestones are supposed to occur, let alone worry about them! You are still feeding him, aren't you? He's just getting a bit extra. It is so easy to feel guilty when you become a mother. Did you make that trip back to the States yet?

wigglesrock · 28/06/2011 19:25

tadjennyp I didn't realise you had your parents over Grin, glad you are having a good time and they are lavishing attention on the children, I hope you are getting some too Grin I'm the same, I can't remember much about when Olivia was baby at all, and we keep looking at Anna and each other and saying "is she supposed to be.... yet?"

americanexpat at least you were mixing a cake, I'd be too busy trying to unwrap the wrapper from the Tesco one with my teeth, while holding Anna and a sharp knife in the other!! I know its not helpful but I am Envy about your Poang Grin

WeAreBorg · 28/06/2011 19:28

Jane such a lovely poem, love to you and Zoe. Hope you find a lovely dress, I'm sure you will look fab.
byronic yes hope you are alright over there, have been attempting to follow the news today.
expat you must be a brilliant mum to breed a 4 month old that can race about the room like that! I always feel guilty about just about everything, I never used to be like this, I'm sure I was normal before?!
emski and reastie i have a slumber bear, it's good. Nate is frankly terrified of the bear itself but the noises seem to calm him, I find they work best when he wakes up screaming if the box is on it's loudest setting he'll go back to sleep. It doesn't get him to sleep, and doesn't stop non-screamy wake ups though (for us anyway). We started using it late but surprisingly the womb noises seem to still help.

janedoe25 · 28/06/2011 20:03

tad im glad you are enjoing your parents, hope they are spoilng you Grin

Thank you borg

You are a fab mum expat!

emski and 40weeks thank you, hope you are both well.

debka · 28/06/2011 20:25

Hey all,

Thinking of you today jane

Are you ok byronic or has Greece sold your internet? Grin

weareborg welcome back Grin. Sabine properly sits- if she's concentrating she'll stay upright for a good few minutes, but if anything distracts her she'll turn too violently and nose dive! She's not interested in rolling, that's her party trick and she's sticking to it! Imy sat up early too, about the same age.

Boo, our hot weather has gone, was hoping for another dip in the pool. Made do with making another batch of jam instead.

I've been lucky I think with bfing, I intended to bf and it was easy for me from the start, never had any issues at all. Good job really, if I'd had to FF I would've poisoned my babies by now

americanexpat · 28/06/2011 20:38

WeAreBorg - yes, the guilt! If I leave him on the playmat, I feel like I should be playing with him or reading to him or something. I'm sure I used to be an interesting person. Hmm

tadjennyp - I am still bfing, in reality he's only getting 12oz or less of formula per day, much less than he was in the beginning. It sounds like you're having a lovely time with your parents. We're hoping to visit my family next month but have to get L's immigration status sorted before we can leave the country.

suzym1984 · 28/06/2011 20:45

Hi everyone!

No time to catch up properly, just wanted to pop on and say Im thinking of Jane and our Zoe today. You are a fabulous mummy to her and her future brother or sister will be a very lucky baby.

DH has holidays from work (no money for us to go away tho) so I am busy as I now have 2 babies instead of 1 Angry grrrrrr

Harry slept at my mams at the weekend tho while we had a night in a hotel. cant believe it actually as I am very clingy and have only been away from him for 3hrs before this! he was well behaved tho and slept well for them, so looks like we all had fun! Dh and I had massages and then went out for a meal and drinks, then had a full night sleep in a queen size bed, lush!

To all you early weaners out there...what foods/ how much are you giving? H is a right piggy and seems to be eating loads of food whilst also draining 8-9oz of formula at a time!

Also, FFers, which formula do you use? I am still expressing for Harry but it is getting very tedious now and think I will move him over to formula before i start back at work. He has had SMA cartons but will not drink the powder...wierd!

Anyway, off to catch up properly x

byronicheroine · 28/06/2011 20:48

Hey, yes we're all ok here. Honestly, I wouldn't know anything was up apart from seeing it on the news! Debka lol at selling the Internet, actually not a bad idea.... The only difference is that DP was home early again today and tomorrow I might have to chauffeur him around as there's no transport so everyone drives and parking is more of a nightmare than usual. I keep saying that something has to give, and tbh if Greece went back to the drachma it would be great as DP gets paid in ££s! We'd be quids in! Wiggles we are in Athens, but the violence is very localised- here they are 'protests' not 'riots' too! I think it looks much worse on tv. We'll have to see what happens over the next few days and weeks...
American, don't feel bad- we'll have enough reasons to feel guilty over the next 20 plus years, no point in starting now. Here in Greece it was the opposite and I had to stress that K was NOT to be FF as it's pretty much a given here. I have also only ever seen 2 people BFing and one was a mother in my 'foreign mothers club'.
Will be back with some on-the-spot reporting as and when anything exciting happens.

WeAreBorg · 28/06/2011 21:00

american i'm the same, i have to keep telling myself that it's good for them to develop their concentration and entertain themselves! I think he must think his mum is crackers, I'll be cooking or something, then suddenly remember I haven't spoke to him for a while then lurch towards him randomly bursting into song, poor boy.

Deb that's very impressive, we shall resume training tomorrow!

WeAreBorg · 28/06/2011 21:04

cross post, i am a slow typist. I like the idea of byronic being our foreign correspondent, I imagine you to be like Kate Adie in a bullet proof vest.
Hi suzy forgot to say, we're in jesmond, have just come out of the hoppings ordeal which has kept me awake for the past week. I was on the phone to my mum whinging about the noise and she pointed out it was 830 pm. On a Friday. Even my mum thinks I am sad! Your night sounds great, very Envy

suzym1984 · 28/06/2011 21:09

ah borg dh and I used to rent in Jesmond, I am very Envy that you live there, its lush but very expensive! we stayed at the Malmaison on the Quayside, it was great!

tadjennyp · 28/06/2011 21:11

Can L not enter the states on a tourist visa or do you have to get him a US passport as you are a US citizen therefore he is? Is L not a British citizen too? It's all a bit confusing.

Glad you're ok byron, lol at the foreign mothers' club!

Hi Suzy, expressing is a pain, isn't it? I'm glad I only have to do it once or twice a week but was hoping to have some more in the freezer by now!
