Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
janedoe25 · 27/06/2011 21:25

oops, there is a list of names at the bottom of the page if you click in 2011 and Zoe is in the April section.

reastie · 27/06/2011 21:25

ledkr I'm not sure if I'm suppose to be on strike as I work for a posh independant school Hmm Grin and only one teacher at the school is going on strike Hmm . I've never striked before so in a way glad I didn't have to make the decision whether to strike or not with being on mat leave. Will you be waving banners on thurs or are you just too close to retiring that it wont make much -difference Wink [cheeky]

alice had a late nap at 5:30 - 7 and been in cot since 8 - just off to dream feed and madly crossing fingers this will finally be an easy night.

hello right back atcha ponyo Grin

reastie · 27/06/2011 21:29

wiggles Shock at surgeon waiting outside - I would have thought they would've given you that placenta injection thing

ledkr · 27/06/2011 21:31

well reastie if they get their way im about a thousand years away from retirement.when i qualified my retirement was about 58 its now about friggin 70,and they want more money for less pension and we have a payfreeze,im off to the private sector me thinks.

janedoe25 · 27/06/2011 21:32

hi reastie glad you like Zoe's picture, it really is fab i LOVE IT!

Hubbard hope you got your wine fix!

hi ponyo!

ILovePonyo · 27/06/2011 21:33

Yep ledkr think I got it from that link you posted and general internetting, dd is def not a snuggly baby, she just cried the few times I tried to take her into bed with us ages ago. No actual growling though Shock Grin

Off to look at little Zoes pic now :)

janedoe25 · 27/06/2011 21:35

here is the link to her page

ILovePonyo · 27/06/2011 21:39

Ah jane, thats so sweet. Is that the poem you wrote? I've not seen it before, its beautiful :)

reastie · 27/06/2011 21:39

i just googled 'baby walker kill' as got all scared and from what i found there was only 1 poor baby killed because the lo walked off a roof garden in one Shock

wigglesrock · 27/06/2011 21:43

jane found her, absolutely gorgeous xx

reastie they did give me the injection - didn't help, it was funny I said to the midwife, no way am I letting him in this room Grin Olivia's actual birth was very quick and I think my brain was a bit behind my body in knowing what to do next!! Am sure he was very nice, but at the time it was very important to me - to be honest it was more painful than getting any of the babies out!

ledkr Mr W's the same, retirement is supposed to be 55 for the police here, but that has changed, they keep bleating on that there's been no pay cuts, but his pay has been frozen and they have upped what he pays into his pension, pay cut by stealth. Mr W is muttering "Thatchers Britain" under his breath at any given opportunity Grin He'll be breaking out the Billy Bragg t-shirts soon!!

hubbard86 · 27/06/2011 21:44

i have wine but its warm so it's sitting with 2 scooby doo ice lollies in it. Grin

janedoe25 · 27/06/2011 21:47

phew hubbard panic over Grin

wigglesrock · 27/06/2011 21:49

Yay for your Scooby snacks hubbard Grin Enjoy

It's now actually bloody freezing here!!

ILovePonyo · 27/06/2011 21:53

Grin hubbard

I wish it was freezing here, I'm such a moaner aren't I, I'd be moaning if it was cold too Grin

wigglesrock · 27/06/2011 22:06

Ah Mr W has just arrived home, time to heat up that lovely dinner I defrosted earlier Wink

chocoroo · 27/06/2011 22:07

Jane The name in the sand is a lovely idea. Really beautiful.

Hubbard Thank goodness for that. Have just been picturing your DP fighting his way through a hurricane to get a bottle of vino.

ledkr I wouldn't bother popping over to private sector...most people I know have a pension where they only get out what they pay in. Mine is a bit better than that but who knows what might happen when we officially become Kraft employees.

wiggles I applaud your decisiveness. I felt horrendous pressure to breastfeed and tried to get it to work against my instincts. I'm pleased I expressed for a while but DP and I have both said we're secretly pleased that R is FF as he's been able to do so much.

Reastie Jane deb I'll give the boys a wave for you. Not sure I'm going to sleep. I have tears in my eyes when I think about Robbie being back with them, I'm going to be a wreck!

What's everyone got their babies in to sleep? R's in a nappy with just a blanket over her. I've got the fan on in the bedroom too as the baby monitor bleeps like mad if it goes over 23. She seems fine now but I'm worried she'll get cold over night.

wigglesrock · 28/06/2011 06:54

jane big hugs and extra kisses for you and Zoe this morning.

reastie · 28/06/2011 07:13

choc and wiggles I agree that I think there was alot of pressure from every angle (NHS and MIL included Wink ) to bf when I was pg. It's odd though - whenever I see a hv they ask if I'm still bfing they seem to assume I'm not and seem genuinely suprised when I say I am, as if it's really uncommon Hmm Confused

choc only 12 ish hrs till tt Grin

a big hurrah for alice last night - finally - first night in weeks she's gone to bed at a decent hour and not screeched at some point in the night - in cot at 8, dream feed 9:30 and then not a peep until 6 Grin

chocoroo · 28/06/2011 07:51

Right...

Did I mention I'm going to see Take That today?

reastie · 28/06/2011 08:02

choc STOP MAKING ME Envy
Grin Wink

ledkr · 28/06/2011 08:05

You know what,im so fed up of losing posts that i nearly stopped mning.
If you think im not on much theses days its cos i keep writing a long post and losing it.Course ive got loads of time to waste Hmm

Jane thinking of you all today.

reastie sounds like a better night to me. D managed 8-6 but is really tired when she wakes up. Im feeling really positive about our invite to the pils, but interested to see whether they try to negotiate. There are only a few weekends tho and im out for one of them so hopefully they cant.

chocco enjoy tt.i must admit i was a big fan way back but have never got too excited about them since they reformed. Older and fatter, maybe it reminds me that im their age Shock I am unimpressed with them taking Robbie back too,i used to sing backing vocals for a Robbie tribute, when i auditioned i didnt know a single one of his songs which at the time was unheard of Grin

I am popping into work today, cant really be arsed but you kind of have to dont you.My vile boss hasnt even called me so i shall be giving him the cold shoulder.

Ooooo chocco thortons just announced massive shop closures.

reastie · 28/06/2011 08:37

ledkr mn keeps losing server or sth with me quite often Hmm gl at work btw. I Grin at your story for auditioning for (fake) robbie back up - I can picture it now: autition man: ledkr, can you sing 'angels' please
ledkr: I don't know that one
audition man: OK, how about 'she's the one'
ledkr: nope, no idea on that one either
audition man: you are here for the (fake) robbie auditions?
ledkr: yes
audition man: well, sing what you can then
ledkr starts belting out the bells were ringing out for christmas day Wink (newer ones to the thread won't get that reference Wink )
Grin Grin

Thorntons doing shop closures?

re: tt I used to be in the audience of totp lots when I was younger Blush and once when robbie was there he was making very very cheeky comments about a ladies boobies in the front row Hmm

ledkr · 28/06/2011 08:58

I sang "where do we go from here" from Evita haha. They had never heard of it but i got the gig cos i dont think anyone els auditioned,i did learn them all though, all the oooooos and ahhhhhhhs were in the right place. Off to shred now. Bah

wigglesrock · 28/06/2011 09:56

Oh, I like that song ledkr I'm avoiding taking Anna into work, tbh they're not that interested and I couldn't be arsed.

reastie to be honest, I never felt that much pressure with the second two, I had a bit of a row when I was pregnant with Sofia at the booking in appt but I think I may have scared them, I can be a bit sarky when I want, could you have guessed Grin

chocoroo enjoy yourself, I can't stand Robbie but I like the others Grin Have a great time with your friends.

I'm assuming that everyones Tescos has a sale on at the minute, quite a lot of kids clothes reduced but they've knocked a bit of baby/toddler toys, v-tech stuff, if anyones interested. Still feeling a tad guilty re Annas' lack of toys, mind you when I was wee, not only was it all fields round here, but all we had to play with was some coal and a rubber ball Grin

americanexpat · 28/06/2011 10:26

What's this about massive chocolate discounts? Grin

jane - the photo and poem are lovely. The poem made me a bit teary. I hope you're enjoying a bit of sunshine today, forecast says it'll be a scorching 18C today. Grin

choco - what? you're going to see TT? I don't think you've mentioned it before. Grin

I didn't feel pressured into bfing (though maybe didn't feel it because I wanted to anyway) but I did feel horribly guilty when we had to start supplementing with formula. All the "breast is best" posters and laundry lists of why bfing is better healthwise made me feel a failure, even though it was in L's best interest to give him formula. TBH, I still feel a bit emotional when thinking about it now. I did get so much support with bfing though - MWs on the ward always willing to help, support worker visiting a few times and loaned me a pump which I still have.
