Hi all, well I am def not a 'hotter the better' person, its doing my head in! Have realised how fat I am when faced with having to wear more summery clothes and don't like being all sticky (grumpy emoticon)

A's room was 27 degrees last night Confused she slept ok but I kept worrying about her overheating. We don't have a fan or anything don't know if its worth getting one?

A is currently sleeping in just her nappy bless her.

wiggles sorry if you;ve already said but what walker have you got? A is managing to wriggle herself about using her heels too, can't leave her in the middle of the bed anymore Grin

choco enjoy TT tomo!

reastie I don't have a clue about chicken pox etc so glad you asked that question!

Hello everyone else, I have been reading just not had much time to post, off to my mums tomo til Wed too, only an hours drive so shouldn't be too bad (fingers crossed - was it deb or delia that had the nightmare car journey? Worst nightmare)

wigglesrock · 27/06/2011 16:57

ponyo is seriously just the cheapest one our local toy store had Blush It was £29.99, Mothercare have a few on offer at the minute. It's on wheels and has a toy tray with car accessories at the front, which I removed because they're very noisy Anna is too young for them. She now just wants to "stand" all the time, so its a godsend. I didn't have the rooom for one with the other two and was a bit Hmm about them, but am converted. I didn't want one that was too bulky, wide, you can get activity centre type ones but the one mothercare one that was £70 to £35 had no wheels.

I think the thing with chickenpox is the sheer uncomfortableness of it, the itching, trying not to scratch etc, but there's stuff you can get now, when I had them it was just calamine lotion which was stinking. Its very contagious for the first while but I think that as soon as the spots start to scab, the actual infectiousness has started to pass. I would still have quite a few chickenpox scars on my body. If it wasn't for them I'd be rivalling Gisele in the body beautiful stakes Grin

chocoroo · 27/06/2011 17:28

wiggles Take That's tomorrow. I can hardly contain myself. Not least because I get to have some wine spend quality time with my girls.

R is baking hot, have left her in a nappy and keep moving her around. She's currently plonked in front of the fan.

Right, still haven't tidied properly...done the lounge and dining room (except for DP's DIY crap). Still need to do bathroom and baby's room. Am ignoring our bedroom - will just shut the door!

hubbard86 · 27/06/2011 17:51

i too seriously dislike the heat. Our thermometer said 30` at one point. Freya is currently asleep in her nappy as she is so hot. Last night she wore just a nappy and a sheet. Did the asda shop and spent about 15mins in the fridge aisle, it was lovely.

From what remember chicken pox is contagious from 5 days before the spots appear to when all the spots have scabbed.

ledkr · 27/06/2011 18:32

wiggles do you not have a "hanger" d goes in it for ages just hanging about, she is learning the irish jig and i sometimes put some crinkly paper under her feet and she goes bonkers.
Id say a fan is a must for the heat,im still loving it and i managed to convince myself i look hot in my bikini whilst just in the garden.
I have had pox twice which is unusual,ds had an infrected spot too and it made him very ill but thats not the norm.
reastie you are trying to account for the same 3 weekends as me.I am feeling all in control cos just suggested to dh that we invite them on our terms and only from the sat-sun which involves only one overnight stay and only one shower hogging,pj wearing, cereal crushing greedy breakfast time.I can make lunch for Sat and plan a trip out and then they can fuck off on Sunday AFTERNOON not evening.I said to dh that its not as if they live abroad its only 2.5 hr journey and they dont get here until late on the Friday so no point,he agreed especially as i said id find it far less stressfull and intrusive.
I have been researching early morns girls.I am going to try to go back to lessesning daytime naps and try to make the morning nap a bit later and shorter, she also had a good portion of baby rice today which is the first time she's taken it properly,i found with the cleft she has to have frequent water to wash it down, much easier.
I have just weighed my pasta "portion" ala ww. 40g is apparently a portion--hollow laughter---

wigglesrock · 27/06/2011 19:11

ledkr No, Anna has her chair, which now bores her Shock and mats but no "hanger", afraid the poor dog is silently glaring at me for giving Anna the ability to follow her around, Anna also took a huge chunk of Sofias' hair out today whilst they were "playing" Grin

Ok, now slightly Envy re the heat, just a bit humid here but it has cooled down quite a lot in the past hour, Anna is still in vest and babygro and asleep!! Had a big play with the girls earlier and she's worn out Grin

debka · 27/06/2011 20:16

Hey everyone,

choc Envy TT

wiggles thought walkers were bad bad bad and killed babies or are they safer now?

Had a brilliant day again, went in the pool for ages and we were pottering about outside all day, hot here too but I like it Grin. S is sooooo cute now, they get better at this age IMO. She's doing the shuffling thing too and grabs everything in sight.

jane AF started last week didn't it so you've got a few days before you need to Get It On? Envy Smile

janedoe25 · 27/06/2011 20:30

Had such a lazy day i actually feel Blush

I feel sorry for the babies in the heat, i combust in the sun i need factor 50 in Scotland! When we were in Egypt last July it was 50c it was HOT!

Glad everyone is having a good day.
chocco enjoy TT tomorrow.

I can't believe that Zoe would have been 4 months old tomorrow Sad

wigglesrock · 27/06/2011 20:31

debka me too, mind you not planning on leaving her at the top of stairs Grin, you know me, formula feeder by choice from the word go, not playing hard and fast by the rules Wink.

Every year I try to avoid it, and its happened again got totally sucked in by the tennis, its the influx of tall men, too much for my hormones. Just getting over Beyonces' legs last night, now have my choice of Spanish/Argentinian men to oogle admire their sporting prowess.

wigglesrock · 27/06/2011 20:32

I know jane , are you doing anything? apart from avoiding the heat!!

janedoe25 · 27/06/2011 20:38

No plans at all wiggles, probably spend the day moping around. No bloody heat here to avoid anyway!

wigglesrock · 27/06/2011 20:45

I know, its got a bit chilly here, my flip flops are looking a bit optimistic, mind you any excuse not to shave the old legs, I'm soooo lazy. Did you ever give any thought to adopting a Zoo animal for your Zoe bear? Sorry a bit random, am getting distracted by the men again Grin

janedoe25 · 27/06/2011 20:52

Yes wiggles random, but you made me Smile. I don't think we will adopt a bear. We have her bear factory Zoe bear, 2 stars, her tree, her name in sand which is beautiful. In fact i will post a pic to my profile.

namesinthesand.blogspot.com/2010/11/are-you-here-for-first-time.html

hubbard86 · 27/06/2011 20:56

so annoyed. The bottle of wine i bought is corked. Had one mouthful. Grr. DH has got his bike out to take it back and get another for me bless him and its raining.

debka · 27/06/2011 21:04

jane what a wonderful website, I have tears in my eyes reading it. Would love to see your name in the sand.

wiggles you are the 2nd mummy guru on this thread (you would be #1 but I'm scared of ledkr) you can do no wrong Grin

ledkr · 27/06/2011 21:05

thats nice Jane.Happy 4 month birthday our Zoe Smile I was with my friend yesterday and she lost a little boy about 45 yrs ago. She has 2 dd's and her sister has just found out she is expecting a boy.Their wicked step mom has been delighting in pointing out that "it will be the first boy" my freind is very upset,i told her she needs to put her in her place or i will, she will be getting a good ledkring Angry i told her about you and how you have stayed on the thread with us,her step mum really is a nasty cow.
wiggles i too thought that walkers were the work of the devil, along with hangers, bumbos and anything sweet Grindoes Anna actually move in hers?Wow.
Dilly was a little strange in the bath. She developed a new face like a duck when she saw her toys,me and Ella were crying with laughter.
She also seems to want to drink all the water by plunging her face into it at every opportunity then looks puzzled.

wigglesrock · 27/06/2011 21:06

Lovely idea, had a nosy at the site. Mr W writes the girls names in sand in the summer, and we take a photo of it and frame it for their bedroom doors.

hubbard v impressed with your husband, he must love you a lot Grin Mine has yet to appear from work which he went to at 6am Sad

ledkr · 27/06/2011 21:08

sorry 5 yrs not 45

reastie · 27/06/2011 21:08

jane I just found your name in sand on that web site and the little poem/words made me cry That's such a beautiful idea

hubbard hope you get the wine quick smart

deb the walkers kill babies Shock Shock Shock ??????????

wiggles you can choose to ignore this as it's possibly a bit personal, but have just been wondering it since you mentioned it - is there a reason behind choosing ff from the get go? Hmm [nosey]

choc I could not feel more Envy of tt tomorrow - will you do a big and over excited screach there way please? Grin

led gl with planning the pil visit - looking forward to hearing more stories Grin

still wayyyyyy too hot for me here

ILovePonyo · 27/06/2011 21:09

jane that name in the sand page is lovely, such a shame the woman who founded had to go through what she did to come up with the idea, but what a lovely idea it is. Would be nice to see Zoes. Hope tomo goes as well as poss for you

wiggles I am a big fan of nadal wimbledon, love it and get engrossed each year. Mat leave is fab for spending all day watching tennis Grin

deb has started random giggles at toys that she couldn't give a stuff about a few days ago, and started to get a v mischevious look that is great, some of the changes happen almost overnight it seems!

ledkr 40g worth of pasta Hmm barely worth eating Grin I have also tried pushing dd's morning nap back, from 8.15 til 9.30 sometimes, the other thing I've tried is treating her 5.30am waking as if its still middle of the night, ie just going in, putting dummy back in, shh-ing and then going straight back out. Sometimes it works sometimes doesn't! Good luck.

Well its just started raining here thank god, according to the thermometer its 29 fecking degrees in dds room, poor baby :(

wigglesrock · 27/06/2011 21:12

debka I'm afraid of a good ledkering too Grin

ledkr I'm not exactly sure how she does it, but she moved it this morning, am just trying to keep Olivia from pushing her round in the manner of Fernando Alonso Grin Anna kept trying to dunk her face in the water while we were away, so funny, she has also "talked" all day today - little squeaks and surprisingly deep gurgles Hmm Olivia has quite a deep voice, to be honest she sounds like she has a 40 a day habit, but she can be a bit "throaty" in general.

ILovePonyo · 27/06/2011 21:12

Oh just missed a load of posts - think it took me about 20mins to write that last one! led dd likes drinking her bathwater too and getting a faceful of bubbles Hmm

Hi reastie :)

hubbard you have just reminded me I have wine in the fridge, off to get some now Grin

ledkr · 27/06/2011 21:17

ponyo.you've been reading the same stuff as me,thing is ive always treated it like night ie dark, grumpy and quiet, its her that thinks its upsky time,i swear she gets all irate if i try to snuggle her in any way-does anyone elses baby growl or just mine? I try to leave her to chatter and squeal as long as poss.
wiggs Dh has just been told no leave for the Olympics-yeah cos we are close here 100 miles away.He has to apply for special leave or we will get no time over the school hols. I am meant to be on strike on Thursday are you reastie

wigglesrock · 27/06/2011 21:21

reastie really, think we have all got beyond the point of thinking we are being too personal on this thread Grin Have we all forgotten the wind and piles issues of 6 months ago etc. No, just not for me and have never changed my mind, breast fed for a few minutes after Olivia was born in a desperate attempt to get the placenta out (see what I mean about nothing too personal Grin), was scalpel happy surgeon lurking outside the door, and midwife thought it would it would help, not sure if it did the trick but the surgeon went home empty handed!!

janedoe25 · 27/06/2011 21:22

Ah Pants, i cant upload the pic dont knoww how to resize it Blush If you type Zoe Ruth beveridge into the search bar in the website it will come up.

ledkr what a cow your friends step mum is!

wiggles LOl at A in her F1 walker! She will be giving button a run for his money soon.
