chocoroo · 24/06/2011 18:11

Thank you wiggles although I don't see the resemblance at all myself. Not least because I'm more of a Robbie or Mark girl tbh!

Will try and put some more pics up soon. Can't believe how grown up she's getting!

ILovePonyo · 24/06/2011 20:20

Evening, well we went to first baby group today, it was a bit of a cop out b'cos I know someone who goes with her son, but was v good - some singing (not me thank god) and music. dd seemed to enjoy it then fell asleep half way through.

Best thing today though - she has discovered the cats, and giggles like a loon everytime she's near them, epsecially if she can touch their fur! How strange wiggles that A is fascinated by the dog this week too. I have spent most of this evening chasing the poor cats round carrying dd after them so I can hear her giggle again Grin

american my friend has the £11 ikea chair and said its fab so I'll be getting that one too.

Four4 I think breast milk donation is a lovely idea, imagine the goodness those little prem babies will be getting from you being generous :) There was a programme a while ago (maybe OBEM?) where they were saying they always need donations of breast milk, isn't it a bit like gold dust ie very expensive?

reastie tomo you should do what I did when I had my hair cut and left dd with dp - leave early and get a MacD's breakfast, then take your sweet time heading back after hair cut! Enjoy :)

I am having a wispa and a Wine and watching murray match, hope everyone else is having an enjoyable evening too Grin

americanexpat · 24/06/2011 20:49

44me - I think donating milk is a great idea, I assume you have to have some kind of health check? I would do it but I don't produce enough to feed my own baby.

We nearly bought the cheap Ikea chair but I think it's ugly (sorry wiggles) and I don't like the colours. I suppose adjustable height isn't that important if it has a tray - I just want him at the table with us.

YY to partners not changing their lives much. We fell out a lot in the early days because DH didn't understand how draining it is to be a mum 24/7, when he can go to work in the morning and be himself. He's great with L, takes him weekend mornings so I can have a lie in, but often forgets to change his nappy or make sure he has a nap.

L discovered the cats last week too! He lies on his tummy staring at them, they walk up and sniff his head then dart away when he "reaches" towards them.

wigglesrock · 24/06/2011 21:02

Well Mr W finally "built" the walker Grin He's usually a real whizz at stuff like that but am afraid the walker had him stumped. Much cursing and fiddling with the screwdriver ensued!! We put Anna in it for a bit, she was more interested in bending over and gnawing on the steering wheel, but she can sit up in it on her own and we can take the feckin' very loud and annoying educational toy tray out and stick her own bits and pieces in the under tray.

debka · 25/06/2011 09:17

Hey everyone!

Well i had a fabby time with friends last night, and they even left some cheesecake for you lot! Then S gave me a treat and slept till 12.30 then 5, fantastic.

Had some mixed news from the EAT study yesterday- good news was that S's liver function was right back down, bad news was that it was 4 points above their cut off so she's had to withdraw from the study. I'm gutted, I felt like we might have helped some babies by doing it. The dr was disappointed too, he said he wished they'd made the criteria slightly different, for example doing a third blood test, especially since they've not had nearly enough babies on the study. Ah well. Since hearing that news she's had a strawberry from me and some mayonnaise Confused from DH!

ledkr · 25/06/2011 09:55

Deb how i wish i could say i had agood night with friends in such a chirpy manner. We had a nice time but as ever over indulged and now cant stop puking Shock Funny thing is all my faffing and worrying about how i looked was unfounded. In my strange head i was thinking of being surrounded by thin young girls, but all dh's friends wives have kids so all looked completely normal. One woman i really got on with, she came out with me for sneaky ciggie, they live in Lyme regis but we will defo meet up again, great lady.
Dh was very drunk and is now asleep,i have had to get up to speak to my Mum and act normal whilst enquiring about the children, she gets a bit eggy if me and my sisters get drunk and suffer.I dont think i can drive to get them tbh i am sat on the sofa with a glass of ice chips to suck and ellas dolly baby bath to puke into Hmm

ledkr · 25/06/2011 09:57

Oh yeah 44 when i had ds1 i had so much milk i once produced 9floz from one expression.I was feeding the whole of scbu apparently. This was 26 yrs ago but i must admit id not really want my baby drinking another womans breast milk if not screened,am i just odd? Dont answer that.

wigglesrock · 25/06/2011 11:33

debka glad you had a great night & Sabine gave you a treat Grin, pity about the study but at least she's okey dokey, Anna had some banana as a nosy this morning, think she prefered the ice-cream Blush

How you doing ledkr? Would you like someone to pretend hold your hair back while puking, push on through my friend, only 10 hours until bed-time Grin Failing that have a McDonalds and some coke. Glad you had a good time last night.

Right time for me to drive S to a fancy dress party, who are these women who can just throw a party for 23 children on a whim and is it bad form to throw her down a bottle of wine and some sweets/craft things as a thank you. Its not actually any of her childrens birthday, they just fancied a party. Is she mad Hmm? but she lives in a posh bit, so can't wait for a nosy, moi judgey - surely not Grin

Four4me · 25/06/2011 11:41

That's why I wanted your opinions ledkr wondered that myself if it was my baby. But I guess if my baby was a poorly prem and I hadn't enough milk I would want all the best care for them. They do health screening, I think there may be a blood test and then I think they pasturise the milk. Anyway we'll see what they say when they reply. Just seems such a waste to eventually dump it all.

deb shame about the study. Glad S is ok though.

Think it is going to be a hot day here yippee.

40Weeks · 25/06/2011 12:13

Hello everyone

Sorry to hear about the study deb but glad S liver is ok.

ledkr sorry couldn't help but smirk at the puking, god that takes me back to the good old days! Glad the do was good.

choc what was your old mn NN? I don't know why but it's been bugging me that I couldn't remember!

Hubbard sorry about the anxiety attack. What happens? I think I may have had one or two in the last few weeks where I get stressed out and then have to work hard to maintain my normal breathing and feel claustrophobic. Didnt help that I lost car in bluewater car park and didn't find it until 2.50pm when ds1 needed collecting at 3 from preschool Blush

Ds1 also woke up with chicken pox this morning so now waiting on other two to get it, although M might be ok as breastfeeding still. Me and ds1 are watching a film in bed, M is asleep in cot and Ds2 has gone to supermarket with dh. I did offer to pick them up as they wen on the bus (ds2's fave thing to do) but he asked M's to collect them with 3 mins notice - seriously how do I get a baby and a sick child out the door and to the station in 3 mins??? Plonker

wiggles glad your hols were good, photos look great. Who the hell throws a kids party for the helluvit! Nutters, that's who.

44 good on you for the milk donation. I am too mean and freezing all mine so me and dh can stay over after a wedding in aug and leave enough for M.

ponyo Grin to the cats!

janedoe25 · 25/06/2011 12:14

debka glas you had a nice night and S slept well. Sorry to hear about the study, but at least S is ok.

ledkr I second what wiggles says, go get a maccy Ds curer. Hope the girls are good for you today!

wiigles bannana or ice cream? i know what i would choose! The word super woman or mental comes to mind! Hope S enjoys the party, what did she dress as?

Another day of pouring rain here Angry We went to visit our friends new baby last night, my first thougths when i seen him was god he looks like Gollum! Shock I feel really embarrassed about it but he really does!

wigglesrock · 25/06/2011 15:55

Well girls if I had a house that fancy dan I wouldn't even let my own bloody children in, never mind a classful of 6 year olds Envy Sofia dressed as a fairy princess not a fairy or a princess but the two combined Grin Party was great fun, there was bouncy castles, trampolines and the mum (who is lovely btw, I'm just jealous as she has 4 children, the youngest being 7 months and her house is gorgeous) had the time to bake a lovely princess castle cake, all by herself Shock.

Anyway it was a great party, Sofia loved it and she has just lost a front top tooth, her third, hoping to scale back the tooth fairy treats this time Grin

jane I have seen some Gollum babies myself, faces only a mother could love Grin

ledkr how you doing?

40Weeks good luck with the pox xx

ledkr · 25/06/2011 18:11

Good grief, talk about pushing on thru.It turns out that dh was much worse than me so i had to man up and get the girls. On the way to get Ella from Mums she rang to say Nan had fallen again so we had to sort that out, she ended up being taken into Hospital.then i drove 10 miles to pick up D and stayed for a cuppa cos she told me she was pg Grin i am so happy,i cried like a knob, but thats a secret so shhhhh. Then i loaded, pram basket steriliser etc etc into the car and took 2 tired girls to a packed asda to get supplies for tonight-hangover cures chinese food pop- then back home to unload it all. Its mostly still still all over the bloody kitchen floor as i have no energy. Have been wincing at the memory of me being slumped in a chair sleeping at the wedding and of puking out of the car window on the way home and wiping it up with my new cardi!!!!Dh was mooching about in someone elses jacket attempting to join in with convos but only managing to twtch and pull faces like that pete with tourettes who won big brother once.
We have decided we need a hobby which isnt alcohol related.
Been meaning to say to you all, boots do a hand shaped teether for the personb who wanted a finger for baby to chew and also cow and gate do baby weetabix i think it was baby noah who liked them but couldnt have them. Hth.

ledkr · 25/06/2011 18:12

oh yeah,my sis said that they use the ante natal screen to check the breast milk.

Emski76 · 25/06/2011 18:24

Thanx fir weetabix tip Ledkr. Noah is loving eating food instead of just having milk! Glad you fun last night, shame about the hangover!
Just did the whole of level one shred, bloody he'll, I'm hanging now. Ben helped me get thru it by joining in and making me giggle!
Four, what a fab thing to think of doing. Dh and I were watching baby hospital and were saying we'd love to give our time to help, maybe holding the babies and giving them human contact.
Debka, sorry to hear Sabine can't be part of the study anymore but glad she's ok, and glad she slept well last night after your dinner party. Am still waiting for my cheesecake to be delivered!
40, not the dreaded chickenpox! They've had at nursery recently and I always dread Ben and Noah catching it! Hope he gets well soon.
Wasn't Choc called Ellesbelles before.
Amen, to partners lives not changing. While i was shredding i had to call dh away from computer cos Noah was crying! How bloody often to I do anything fir myself! Huh!M

ILovePonyo · 25/06/2011 18:36

Hey all, I have been spending (dp's money) today, bought one of these cot mobiles for dd, she loves it, and one of those glowy seahorse thingys too, she's not too fussed about that.

ledkr who is pg?! I read it like your mum is but don't think thats right Grin I did laugh at you vomming into a dolly bath, sorry Grin Hope you're feeling better now, chinese and pop is the way to go.

deb shame about the study, but at least S can try some little treat foods now :) Gave dd a little bit of jam this morning to lick shhh don't tell anyone.

wiggles wow at the last min party - I would so love nosying at a house like that, in fact be a fly on the wall all day I think!

jane Grin at gollum baby, seen a few of them myself!

40 eek to the pox, can they just wake up with it randomly then?!

dd has been chewing and sucking on her lip like an old man all day, even after feeds, and v dribbly, anyone think this is a hungry sign or just a new thing she's learnt to do?!

chocoroo · 25/06/2011 18:36

Hello!

Not much time today as R is being a monkey (totally distracted when feeding and rolling all over to get to things she shouldn't!).

I used to be ElleB1980 before. Anyone guess what year I was born?

Boo to chicken pox, hangovers and people with fancy dan houses.

It's bridesmaid dress try on day tomorrow...please all keep your fingers crosses that it will fit. I'm just over 12 stone so hopeful. Have bought some hold it all in pants so hoping they'll help with the old mummy tummy!

wigglesrock · 25/06/2011 19:19

ledkr hope you are returning to the land of the living. Sorry but also having a bit of a giggle at the burst of shame filled drunk memories, we've all been there Grin Chinese food deffo the way forward. I'm assuming its your sister who's pregnant!!

ponyo Anna is a desperate sucker, dribbler etc. Thought it was maybe the start of teething, going to investigate the hand shaped teether!!

chocoroo fingers crossed and tummy sucked in solidarity for you tomorrow, you're lighter than me, so not sure if I'm talking to you anymore Grin

40Weeks · 25/06/2011 19:27

ponyo I thought It meant ledkrs mum too but think it was actually her sister? My bff told me the other day she was pg too, sshhhh that's also a secret. There have been cases of chicken pox at ds' preschool so was gully expecting it but the spots developed overnight. He had 2 last night and to be honest, not that many today - between 20-30 in total which isn't many but they are gradually growing.

Good luck with the dress fitting choc I am sure you will look great

Good on you emski for shredding, I have been very remiss and not done it for ages....

40Weeks · 25/06/2011 19:32

And while not shredding, I have made bread and butter pudding for dessert tonight and raspberry cheesecake cupcakes for our bbq tomorrow, although if we cancel it I will send you all one!

wigglesrock · 25/06/2011 20:03

40Weeks Oooh I'll have some cheesecake cupcakes, not the easiest phrase to say quickly Grin But when you said you made them, I'm pretending to hear you picked them up at Tescos!!!

If its the night for news my sister and my bf (that's best friend not boyfriend Grin) are both pregnant and due in January!!!!

janedoe25 · 25/06/2011 20:14

Tell them all to pass on some pg vibes to me please!

Uh oh not the pox 40weeks

ledkr im sorry but i too was laughing at your drunken antics, i hope you cleaned the dolly bath before Ella plays with it! Hope the hangover is better.

wigglesrock · 25/06/2011 20:19

jane I know sweetheart, saying a little prayer for you, not praying in relation to your sex life, because that would be weird Grin but you know what I mean!!!

reastie · 25/06/2011 20:19

congrats ledkr to your sister (or mum Hmm Grin ) and all the other pg people (soon to include jane of course). wiggles is that your sister whose wedding it was recently? They didn't waste much time (although I can talk Grin )

I've got the headache from hell right now :( feeling sorry for myself and not helped by alice screaming non stop for an hour - dh just taken her for a walk in the hope it sends her to sleep. will try and come on later but gtg.
