futurity.. that's so sad poor suzie hope you're all ok.

tipex... no idea about milk! linus still has 4 6oz bottles every day plus 3 very big meals! lol
he's just a greedy guts

HAZELLNUTsroastingonanopenfire · 01/12/2005 20:37

We're probably not good ones to answer on the milk front either - We gave up the 11 am feed probably about a month ago because dd would push it away disinterested. Mind you, she does that with the 3 pm one too but I try and get some of that into her.

Why don't you try dropping the 11 am feed and see if it bothers ds or if he is more interested in food.

Hope tonight is better for you !

tipex, on the milk front leon has 11/3/7pm and then probably one on the night at 2am

don't know if that helps, was going to try and stop the 11am at some point

you know what tipex, we have
it's quite amazing how we can put leon down and he seems to like going to bed now!
he also, for the first time, has adopted what i would call a 'comforter' (a little cushion a friend knitted for him which i left in his cot)that he has started to keep with him since we started the cc on monday
the longest we had to leave him for was 15mins, once!
he was asleep at 7.30pm last night!
it's so amazing for us because he's stayed up until 9.30pm so many nights, with us trying to have no routine and no rules for him, but it has had such a bad affect on our relationship
hasn't come a moment too soon with me with flu and all
only prob now is he wakes at 2am for a feed, but he's only 9.5 months so i just have to deal with the interrupted sleep issue which i know you know all about!!!
how was your night?

gossifairyonthexmastree · 02/12/2005 11:10

ps, thanks for asking

HAZELLNUTsroastingonanopenfire · 02/12/2005 16:21

glad the cc. worked in the end - enjoy having your evenings back !!

Tipex - you sorted on the christmas name front yet ? LOL at its like choosing a wedding dress !! Know waht you mean though....

sweetbean · 02/12/2005 16:24

Hello everyone am new to the tread by i have a little girl she was born on 18 feb 05

followthestarlover · 02/12/2005 16:32

hi sweetbean! i have a ds born on 7th feb, Linus.
Wherabouts in the country are you?

HAZELLNUTsroastingonanopenfire · 02/12/2005 16:36

hello sweetbean !!

I have a dd too but she was born on 24 Jan so not a feb baby at all but she was due in feb and I had been chatting to some of this lot on the antenatal boards so stuck with them !

We're not too bad to chat to (I hope) !!

saintnik · 02/12/2005 17:48

Hi Sweetbean, i have a dd born 3rd March but she was due in feb so I stayed with the feb thread (because they're all such lovely people ).

Tipex, hope this sleep thing settles soon, you must be shattered having to work too. I feel like a zombie after one bad night so it must be awful for you . It seems unfair how random it is - some babies sleep fine & some don't for no good reason! At least you can have a moan on here!

Am thinking of changing to saintnikandherreindeer but it seems a bit long!

sweetbean · 03/12/2005 16:21

Hi everyone thanks for the warm welcome!
i live in somerset my daughters called willow she is my first (but hopefuly not last ) baby and she is the most amazing thing that has ever happend to me !!!!
She has only jsut in the last month started to sleep through the night without a feed she gose down at about 7.30 and i feed her at 10 ish then she will sleep through untill 6.00-7.00 am so its just bliss i was getting up at 3.00 and then at 5.00 before so its made a huge diffrence to me as my other half beleves that as he workes he shouldn't have to get up and do baby things in the middle of the night!!
so i would love to hear more about all of you and am looking forward to cahtting to you all xx

NoRoosmumAtTheInn · 04/12/2005 19:53

hi sweetbean, welcome to the feb thread!

tipex, i've just been trying to get dh to think of christmassy names for you...he's normally quite good at this sort of thing, but tipex is SOOO difficult!
my rubbish suggestions are:
MistleTipexToe
WeWishYouAMerryTipex
Turkey&TinselTipex

anyone got any others? btw roo is sleeping like, um what's the opposite of log?? he's been quite bad the last few nights, full of snot & we think maybe a few more teeth on the way...sigh!

how's everyone else getting on?
xxx

Hi All !

Were away this weekend at a friends but with 3 babies staying in one smallish house it was a bit of a nightmare at night - it seemed that at least one baby was awake at all points of the night !! Oh well was lovely to get together with the group of friends it was - my school friends....

Tipex - sorry to hear to hear you are having a rough time of it with friends and families. Just remember its your choice what you do and its nobody's business !! We definitely had a hard time in the early days as dd had to be bottle fed from birth as she wouldn't latch (she adds defensively still !). Because of the circumstances, I was happy with the decision to go to bottle but always felt really paranoid when out and (especially with such a tiny baby that looked new born for months !) getting the formula out.... By about 3 months other friends had started doing formula when out and I remember feeling v. relieved and of course, as you say, now its more 'acceptable' to be bottle feeding. You can't win whatever you do really !! You just have to do what feels right for you and ds and sod the lot of 'em.

Roosmum - sorry to hear your nights are pants at the mo......

How's everyone else - looking forward to thursday those that are coming ????

pjsmum · 04/12/2005 20:35

Hi sweetbean and welcome.
Tipex, you are doing the very best for your ds. If you are happy with the BFing then carry on. DD is on bottles, always has been, but planned to BF. I've had a few negative remarks about bottle feeding, when she was younger and more recently. The way i see it someone somewhere will always have an unwanted opinion that they will express. Do what suits you and your ds. Don't let the remarks get you down
