how is linus with remote controls/mobile phones? leon can play for ages with them he loves them i'm thinking that he sees us using them and realises they have some importance (am i over-analysing???)

just been to see an allotment we've waited 3 years for (and now we might move?!?) so much work to do on it, but i'm really excited!!

HV was suppose to be here an hour ago. Aargh!! Suppose to be concerned about my high score on the edinburgh test so concerned she hasn't turned up! Very bizarre DD has been asleep for 2 hours!! Whats that about. I know shouldn't complain

gossifer · 28/11/2005 15:58

ooooh thanks tipex!

pjsmum, leon went to sleep on sat am at 10am (only been up a while) and woke at 12.30pm in time for a big lunch, totally unheard of in this house! i put it down to a bit of growing

what's the edinburgh test??

pjsmum · 28/11/2005 16:03

Its to do with post natal depression. was given it at DD's 8 month check, i think you have it when your baby is 8 weeks too. She just beginning to wake up now, was getting a bit worried!

gossifer · 28/11/2005 16:06

i hope the visit goes well (if you have it!)

we don't have anything like that in england, how are you feeling?

also i tried to have an 8 month check with leon and they told me they don't do them anymore!

ah well, he's seems healthy and happy to me

pjsmum · 28/11/2005 16:10

Im feeling really annoyed that she hasn't turned up!! I don't thnk i have PND just the usual stresses of being a mum, tired, anxious, shocked at the hard work one little person entails. DP works away a lot so its often me on my own. I think i'm more worried about having to go back to work after xmas. Oh well going to eat cake (that will make me feel better) and feed dd

starlover · 28/11/2005 16:38

goss... linus LOVES the remote, mobiles and gamecube controllers! He has a toy mobile but isn't interested in it at all!!! lol

hazellnut... I really don't know about dp. I think maybe it's a bit of both. He doesn't like upheaval and change and is very much a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" kind of a person. I think he'd happily stay here forever! I on the other hand get an idea in my head and wantt o act on it straight away.

He is the same with everything. I ended up booking us a holiday last year because he was so non-commital. We almost didn't go and then i thought oh stuff it i am just going to book it... when we got there he said "thanks for doing this, it's lovely to be away" .... but if I had waited for his approval on going away/destination we would have never gone!!!

It's just this is such a big step, and I feel awful if I am pushing him into something he really doesn't want to do... but at the same time I just don't think I can stand it here for much longer!

pjsmum... how annoying for you! are you sure the appt was today? I waited in all day for a HV once and thenr ealised it was actually the next week! oops!
I haven't had the edinburgh test, although ds has had his 8 month check. Hope everything turns out ok for you.... if you need to rant about it all you know where we are!

We're actually waiting for an appointment with the ophthalmologist because the HV thought Linus had a squint at his check. I think we'll be waiting some time though knowing the NHS!

n thegood luck with the cc. gossifer. We've had to do it twice with dd but it has worked both times after only one night so will keep my fingers crossed for you

SL - hope you talk dp around to moving.

PJSmum - thats really crap of the hv. I guess its good they've looked at it but if you were/are depressed it wouldn't help by them missing appointments.... DD occasionly does this with sleep - and in fact on saturday (same as leon) slept for well over 2 hours in the morning and then had a second sleep in the afternoon. Most unusual.

Went to jo jingles todday and they got out this bubble machine and dd was mesmerised by the bubbles. Just stood watching them and then wanted to chase after them. Have found a cheap one on mothercare online (£6) so may add that to her christmas pressies !!!

Hazellnut · 28/11/2005 16:41

oops sorry about the start of that last post and any other typos - dd was trying to join in and I thought i'd corrected all her additions !!

starlover · 28/11/2005 16:48

ooh i put hazellnut instead of tipex in my post! apologies! lol

we're all ging crazy!

Oh Tipex - sorry to hear about your crappy day... here's hoping its not a sign of the night to come. I hate it when you get to the point when you are dreading going to bed because you know you'll be up lots and all you want to do is sleep...

Fingers crossed for tomorrow to be one of those days where ds does something cute or amazing and it makes you remember why 'those' days are worth going through. Hang in there....

but thanks

need the support

Hazellnut · 28/11/2005 22:46

the first time we did it someone told me that they don't remember it by the morning - they still wake up and are happy to see you rather than cross with you (and dd is v. sulky so would be cross with us if she'd remembered !!). Its v. hard though. Good luck....

nik72 · 29/11/2005 08:04

Sorry so many of you had a cr*ppy day yesterday & hope things are looking up today. We haven't had snow here since friday but it's blooming cold, dd is in 2 sleepsuits, a grobag and under a blanket as her room seems to be the coldest in the house, poor thing. She still has cold hands & feet in the mornings.

Brought up the subject of the meet up with DH and surprisingly he didn't completely write it off although he did ask me "what are you hoping to achieve by going?" Not sure how to answer that one - curiosity I suppose !

Did your HV turn up, pjsmum? And where's Spoo - she got pregnant then vanished....hope all is OK.
