I can't keep up with the thread anymore. Shock

Congrats and Envy to all the sleeping babies. L is now waking (or waking me) every 2 hours, feeds for a bit then goes back to sleep. He's not actually hungry, just wanting to feed back to sleep. Has anyone used the No-Cry Sleep Solution? He's nearly 4 months and I don't know how much longer I can cope with broken sleep. He's really grumpy too because he's always tired. He has his jabs on Tuesday so I'm really looking forward to extra grumpiness. Hmm

He is getting really mobile too, rolling and scooting like an inchworm. If I leave him on the baby gym, he'll be 5 feet away when I come back. Shock I had to put the bumper in his cot because he gets his arms and legs wedged in the rails - but now I'm paranoid he's going to suffocate with the bumper.

To everyone getting comments about baby's size - L is bang on the 50th centile and I always get comments about how big he is. People will always make comments about size, regardless of where your baby is.

byronicheroine · 11/06/2011 17:36

Yay, SO excited about the Fab Feb ladies and babies meet up in Greece! I have quite a lot of floor space, and a large balcony for over-spill. I will serve ouzo and octopus and there will be dancing in a circle. Ponyo I expect DP would love you lot, you all seem such fun.

I agree with expat as people just want to say something - anything - about a baby. K is quite chunky large but DP was on skype with his mate earlier and the mate went on and on AND ON about how absolutely huge he was. I got a little offended :) but only a little.
wiggles have you got Mr W on the shred yet? My Hero has done it twice and I think he has a crush on Anita Hmm
Baby is asleep and it's only half 7... what am I going to do with the rest of my evening? Wine? Take away as we missed TAF ( take away Friday) last night

byronicheroine · 11/06/2011 17:47

Ha ha spoke too soon..... what is the easiest takeaway to eat with one hand??

janedoe25 · 11/06/2011 17:50

byronic i am booking flights as i speak! Grin

Just popping on to wish ledkr a fab holiday in Paris and hope wiggles party for Olivia goes well. When do you go on holiday wiggles? I hope work hasn't exhausted you today.

I have a bust day tomorrow so won't be around much.

Hope all you ladies and babies are having a fab weekend x

reastie · 11/06/2011 18:12

ledkr you must be back from paris by now surely Grin Grin

have uploaded a couple of piccies to profile - one of which taken earlier today and made me lol. Remember we were talking about dhs being useless at dressing babies? well, dh went up to change alices nappy and when he came down alice was wearing a coat that I got her for this winter - tis tres large for her by far and she did not look impressed. We have heaps of cardis fgs - why put her in a huge coat for sitting about indoors Hmm

no calls from pil re: popping in this week end yet.....hope they haven't been reading mn... Shock Wink

right, bryon that's it - we are all decamping to yours Grin

expat hope the sleep improves - I don't do too badly considering in general, and I struggle to cope, have no idea how you do it.

suzy I would say don't worry about dummy at all - if it helps then Grin . I think they just say it's bad when a baby can't settle without one. Alice was dummy obsessed but seems to have moved more onto her thumb now.

Alice has been really giggling when in her bouncing activity thing today - there's a toy on it that makes an odd noise and for some reason she finds it hillarious Grin . I've bought online one of those door bouncers and can't wait for it to arrive - bouncing and standing are 2 of her fave things - combining one thing that does both of these at the same time and I can't even imagine how Grin she will be Wink

OP posts:
byronicheroine · 11/06/2011 19:02

Ok, I'll be at the airport with signs with your MN names all made up ready!
reastie that's so cute :) A will love it. We tried ours but he hasn't really got the idea yet, so we sit there and bounce him while grinning manically. He must think we are nuts!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 11/06/2011 19:41

Oooh, a feb meet up, so jealous!
Hope everyones okay, just sat down after putting b to bed and he's just started grizzling, will let OH deal with him. Thanks to well wishers, rotavirus ime is loads and loads of diarrhoea and no sleep... Sad
reastie we're hoping to get a door frame thingy as my db and I loved ours as babies.
Well, no moving yet, we sign the agreement and get keys on Monday though so hoping to sleep before then.
Put fake tan on today then realised I'd bought the wrong one so will be looking like Jordan tomorrow, great Hmm
sorry for rambling...

debka · 11/06/2011 19:52

Put S in Imy's door bouncer- but she is so wee her little feet didn't touch the floor, even on the lowest setting- had to put a table underneath her! Got a photo somewhere- will post it if I can find it. BTW Imy never really got the hang of it either.

Just had a shower and combed my hair and LOADS fell out- never got the hairloss thing first time round so it's been a bit of a surprise. Anyone else becoming bald?

debka · 11/06/2011 20:05

Uploaded 2 more photos if anyone's here interested.

ILovePonyo · 11/06/2011 20:15

Hi all,

reastie that photo is hilarious, she actually does have a "help me mummy" look on her face, she knows she doesn't need that coat on indoors! Love the one of her sitting looking good as gold on the settee.

deb I was actually going to post today about how the hair loss is doing my head in - I lost a lot of hair before I got pg (I have a lot of hair so its ok!) but it is SO annoying at the moment - shedding all over the place.

suzy I agree with reastie about the dummy, wouldn't worry about it too much. We put dd down to bed without the dummy but if she gets upset and cries we put it in. And of course its not cruel re: feeding - he'll let you know if he wants any food before 5am anyway!

expat no experience of no-cry sleep solution but could be worth a go - lack of sleep is so awful anything would be worth a try I imagine! Good luck.

jane you have a bust day tomo?! Grin Interesting Wink Hope its not too stressful.

needto how about posting some photos of the tanning aftermath Grin

Off to have my tea now but someone get booking flights to byrons :)

Emski76 · 11/06/2011 20:25

Deb, love the pic of S in the door bouncer!
Reastie, I showed the pic of Alice in her coat to dh, he is also not good at choosing outfits for the boys. I asked him to grab Noah a clean top this morning and he looked really worried that he'd get it wrong! I must be a scary lady!
Byron, were on our way soon!

Four4me · 11/06/2011 20:49

I'm packing as I type byronic yippee!

reastie I'm not allowed to see your photos Sad wonder if you have my name wrong. Am wanting to see Alice in her house coat! My dh is good with the boys clothes but quite often puts Imogens tops on back to front when there are complicated things like buttons on them Grin

debka love the table, she seems delighted with it!

Thanks for asking Jane about how I got on with my lady who has just had a baby with downs. She was still very shocked and she admitted she was struggling emotionally. Hope I can help support her. It is amazing how time heals. So corny but so true. Seven years ago when I had Thomas I was a mess. It was so difficult though as I didn't realise that most of the emotions were probably being a first time mummy. Being a mummy is tough and they don't make that clear ante-natally. Sorry and breath!

Archie is my fourth and I'm smitten.

Hope you enjoyed swimming Suzy ?

reastie · 11/06/2011 21:12

44me have added you, sorry, I was lazy forgot to change it when you name changed

deb love the piccies - S looks so grown up on the bouncer Grin

ems my dh does the same re: putting tops on the wrong way around - when a top has buttons on he becomes baffled as to which way it goes Hmm

needto thought you were moving today - hope everything goes smoothly on mon and just think of all that sleep you can have tonight/tomorrow [hopeful]

OP posts:
Four4me · 11/06/2011 21:21

Oh reastie that is hilarious. Showed dh and he laughed! Alice is devine! I know it is totally bonkers but I'm soooooo broody. My friends think I'm unhinged and dh just shakes his head and looks heavenward. Alice has just set me off again!

janedoe25 · 11/06/2011 21:24

four4me I think it is fab you are supporting her, I bet T (and the oothers) is so proud to have such a fab mummy!

ponyo I just love my boobies i am having a whole day dedicated to them! Blush you know what i mean! I am going to DF's aunt/uncle 25th wedding anniversary tea party thingy ( yes i know, so rock 'n' roll) and its my Mums birthday too.

debka love the pics, the girls are gorgeous.

reastie the look on A's face says it all!

I was supposed to be spending the evening cuddled up on the couch with DF but he has been playing the bloody xbox.Hmm

janedoe25 · 11/06/2011 21:26

four4me will you be changing your name back to justonemore please? I am the same, i am so desperate to have another baby, just hope i have a wee bean burrowing inside me now.Grin

hubbard86 · 11/06/2011 21:28

have managed to upload somemore pics if anyone wants to be nosy.
I wouldn't wouldn't worry too much about dummys as freya loves hers. Tom had one too and as soon as he was 2 the dummy fairy came.
Good luck with the move needto.
Went to visit my bff today and she's only got 5weeks left till dd and seeing her so uncomfortable really makes me not miss being pregnant.
I am loosing so much hair too. After tom i had to ask if it was normal but it seems like more this time Hmm

janedoe25 · 11/06/2011 21:31

Love the pics hubbard.
Hope the big move goes well needto and you get loads of sleep.

hubbard86 · 11/06/2011 21:33

my dh is the broody 1, he's already talking about the nxt one. I've put a stopper on it until freya is in nursery as i really couldn't have 2 under 3 again.
Finger crossed for you jane, enjoy your boobie day Wink

Four4me · 11/06/2011 22:00

Jane I so want you to be too! You are going to be the bestest mummy and Zoe will always be here with you too be part of it. Have a nice day tomorrow. X

I'm not allowed any more babies (dh he says 'NO'!) so I'll have to settle for being Auntie for everyone elses babas.

hubbard yours are absolute cuties too.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 12/06/2011 12:46

jane thank you, I can only second the wise words of 44me, you are already a fab mum Smile

I refuse to upload any photos of my orangeness, i look ridiculous but one good thing is that it's so cold here today I can cover up (not sure about gloves and balaclava though Blush) Take it from me, it's definitely OTT...

B slept a little better last night but was really upset this morning. The only thing that calms him is if I bf and I'm not really producing milk so is it weird? Please say no, I'm not giving him problems!

Right, off to continue packing sneak a look at new baby pics

ILovePonyo · 12/06/2011 17:47

Happy (rainy) sunday all, what a grim day.

Well dd and I were up ridiculously early today, she was making a noise off and on from 4.30am and had to get up with her at 5.30 - yuk. I am not googling sleep regression yet and hope its just a one off Hmm

Had a nap this morning as dp could look after dd - won't be able to do that in the week though, she doesn't sleep enough!

Needto boo to the lack of pics! No advice re: bf but sure someone will have some answers, I doubt v much you're giving him probs though :)

jane Grin at boobies, hope you;re having an enjoyable (tho busy) day. And who knows re: little bean, whatever happens and when it happens you will be the best mummy ever - lucky baby!

hubbard I love your piccies, the one of you and her is gorgeous, F has the cutest little face :)

Four4 Shock at you being broody! I want more but can't imagine actually having more if that makes sense. Did I say that your photos are fab too?

Think we really need to think about putting dd into her cot soon, she is so long in her moses basket, but I just keep putting it off every night. She's had a few naps in her cot in her room and seems to like it so thats a good sign. Any advice?

Threads been quiet today - hope you're all having nice weekends xx

Four4me · 12/06/2011 18:09

Wow it has been quiet today. The weather (aren't I exciting) has been awful here this afternoon.

Guess which mummy got everyone organized and hussled into the car this morning to have a fun time at Medieval day in a nearby town. When we got there no one was there and it is not on till next bloody Sunday. Whoops. So we went for a pizza and the kids were so well behaved. Dead proud mummy.

ponyo A has been out of his Moses basket for a while now and in his own room in his cot and he sleeps much better. has slept 8-8 since 9 weeks. And he is bf. He is mister chilled though and I think watching three siblings all day long is pretty knackering!!

Go on needto show us your tan!!!!!! So funny. Grin

wigglesrock · 12/06/2011 19:16

Hello, well work was awful, never ever doing a split shift again, but that's it done, damn this pole dancing malarkey isn't what it used to be Grin

hubbard and reastie great photos, good news about Freya sleeping well without harness.

I am also losing huge amounts of hair, I always have done at this point but this time it seems worse Shock

Sofia's party went really well, not quite as small as I had envisaged, and weather is dreadful but was good fun. Am tripping over Squinkies!! and Barbies as we speak, while also eating left over cake Blush

Ledkr have fab time in gay Paris, am sure you and Ella will have a ball Grin

debka going to have a nosy at your photos now, am afraid of losing my post by trying to look while typing!!

chocoroo · 12/06/2011 19:39

Evening!

Totally rank day here...we had to go to the Bullring just to get out of the house for a walk. Our only purchase was two giant umbrella's.

wiggles Boo to work. But glad the party went well. WTF is a Squinkie?!

ponyo My only tip re: Moses basket is to use travel cot in your room if you're not quite ready to move them out entirely.

need2 I'm trying to work out whether I'm going to need a fake tan when I'm a bridesmaid later in the summer. My DP is NOT a fan and the dresses are long so I'm tending towards no but then I note my arms are distinctly blue!

Hubbard No broodiness around here. I'm going to request written confirmation that I can have a c-section before I even think about ttc. I regularly have flashbacks to my labour. Think we'll wait until R is at school tbh.

My mum came down to babysit last night so we could go to a friend's 30th. At first we were knackered but once we were in the swing it was lovely to be out together. Next date is a champagne tasting at a Michelin star restaurant :)

Right, off to stir the curry I'm making. Jabs tomorrow for R...please tell me they're not that bad!
