I never had the 2 week wait,i had a moment where i felt very tired at pils and the though crossed my mind-cancer or pg-very rational me,and than thought oh i havent come on for a while. Was laughing at the mere thought of being pg at 42. I then went swimming in the hotel we were staying and i swear i suddenly had a flash that i was not alone,i actually put my hand on my tummy and whispered "oh hello" i swear i have never experienced anything like it before. Did a teat about a week later and told dh while he was up a 12ft ladder Grin
wiggles ia hate those parents,i am always the one who forgets the camera and is there trying to take pics with my phone, what i hate most is ; people who bring babies to little plays or shows and then dont stand outside when they scream and people who bring the whole f'ing family then arrive late and you all have to move to allow the big mil to waddle into a seat grrrr
Our school is a bit posh (well the parents think they are) i of course am not!I mostly rush in and out and the clique dont really speak unless they want to fish for info eg when im locking up my bike whilst sporting abig pregnant tum-"hi how are you?" "fine thanks" i replied and waddled off, love it Grin
I may stand for a govenor one yr,they dont know im well qualified i think they think im a stripper haha

debka · 09/06/2011 14:40

jane good news about bloods, and v v exciting about 2ww, do stick with us please too when you get pg or we'd miss you :)

wiggles Imy is in knickers... done 3 wees on the floor despite sitting for bloody hours a little while on the potty. Any hints???

ledkr · 09/06/2011 15:37

Deb how old is she? I left allmine afew months later and they were all very easy. I also did it in the summer in the garden with no pants. Dont make a fuss or it will put her off.

janedoe25 · 09/06/2011 15:54

deb no chance of getting rid of me!

Is this the first day of potty training?

wiggles you rant away about the pushy parents! I sometimes go and watch my wee bro play football and i am Shock at all the "soccer mums".

wigglesrock · 09/06/2011 16:11

Debka how old is she? I didn't try with Sofia until she was 2.6 but Liv was 2.8. Have you got a book? I used a great M&S one. If its her first few days, three wees isn't too bad.

ledkr don't mean to snigger but cancer or pregnant - no middle ground with you is there? Grin

hubbard86 · 09/06/2011 17:36

we've attempted potty training with tom but he won't even go near the potty or the toilet gonna try him again in a month or so. He's 2.7 and really not interested, i really want him to be dry for when he starts nursury in nov.
I am so exhausted it's unbelivable and so p'd at dh as he keeps nagging to dtd and doesn't seem to understand that i just want to collapse and sleep. He's like petulant little child that won't stop going on about it yet he's quick enough to complain when woken for baby duty. Sorry rant over, back to cooking the tea and getting everything sorted.

reastie · 09/06/2011 18:25

thanks wiggles - had hoped my mum might be able to watch alice for the apt so fingers crossed I can get one when she can.

finally - my faith in workmen is restored - has people in to replace a nasty falling apart fireplace with a lovely antique one and they (thank goodness) did a decent job - just like they all should be - clean up after themselves, polite and quiet Grin

all those naughty babies last night (including mine) here's hoping for a better one tonight (i've got the bonjela by the cot just incase)

hubbard i relate to your dtd comment but luckily my dh doesn't try and jump on me if i'm too tired (well, if he does he soon gives up Hmm ). Maybe offer it up if he can do the dishwasher/dinner/bed time duty/ironing/vacuming etc when he comes home from work and see how interested he is then (think these dh really think we just sit around doing nothing all day)

debka · 09/06/2011 19:50

She's 2.2, so perhaps it is a bit early. We'll carry on for a few more days and see how she gets on. Not a single wee ended up in the potty today, but she did run to the potty and sit on it after she did the last one!

S has been an absolute poppet today, slept well, fed well and been incredibly cheery, you'd never know she had jabs this morning. Lets hope there's not a Late Night Backlash!

reastie glad you got a good job done!

hubbard I have the opposite problem- DH has no interest in dtd at all, whereas I wouldn't mind a bit of jiggy jiggy! Had a proper dirty dream last night as well! Problem is, I'm in bed by 9, he doesn't come to bed till after 11, then i'm up with the girls whenever they get me up, and he's still snoring at 8.30.

ILovePonyo · 09/06/2011 20:24

Evening all, quick post as I don't know where the time has gone today and I still have stuff to do Hmm

jane I am so pleased you are normal Wink Grin and how exciting about 2ww, no pressure though. And yes you must stay on this thread too, either that or we'll all be stalking you on your ante natal thread!

ledkr enjoy paris tomorrow Wink hahaha couldn't resist sorry Grin Loved the story about you knowing you were pg and saying hello to D, very cute.

delia sorry to hear about the jabs, hope she is nice and sleepy now.

Well first feb meet up today was a success :) Think MizK and myself were both relieved to discover that we are both normal (and that I'm not a dodgy bloke as her dh thought I might be Grin) Cass is the most lovely smiley girl, dd slept and grumped a bit, showed me up the bugger Grin Now all we need is to work out how to get the rest of you to Nottingham...

Sorry havn't responded to all, have been reading up though. Heres hoping for sleepy babies tonight, I bought some bonjela today after reading about last night shenanigans

ILovePonyo · 09/06/2011 20:24

oh what does dtd stand for?

Deliaskis · 09/06/2011 20:33

Well C went to bed 'normally' tonight so hopefully we can put the lid on a difficult day. Tomorrow we wil be spending 5 hours in the car tho so it's not going to be textbook either. Ne'er mind, we'll figure it out.

AND, it looks like I have bought a house. The house swap lady came round tonight and we agreed a price, and we're instructing solicitors and banks etc. This all started with DH putting a note through her door saying we would like to buy her house, she rang back, and it turned out she wants ours too, and that's how we got here. It's well weird, DH and I have just been eating Chinese takeaway and then periodically stopping and saying 'so we're moving house then?'. tis funny.

Have a good night all, hope the naughty babies are all sleeping like non-naughty babies.

D

reastie · 09/06/2011 20:41

well ponyo you say you're normal, but we have yet mizk to confirm this Wink Grin - any piccies to show for the meet?

Yay for d buying a house - sounds like it's meant to be Grin

oh, and dtd means done the deed, or, if I'm mistaken then I've seriously misunderstood some convos on here Shock Confused Grin

am hoping alice is angelic tonight - dh gone to bed ill and I can't cope with a baby screaming for hours at night on my own Confused

Brill news normal Jane fingers crosses for ttc!

debka we live in a village near Boroughbridge about half an hour from Harrogate. We love it.

Sports day is always a good laugh with Thomas, he is an excellent cheat and loves all the attention when he is sooooooo last! Dead proud Mummy.

Looking forward to watching 'Born to be different' on in minutes. Ace to see other families like ours. Some of the children have significantly more special needs than Thomas and it shows the world it is possible to have a relatively normal family life. There is a boy a bit older than T with Downs syndrome so that is interesting to watch.

Brilliant news about the fab feb meet up!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 09/06/2011 21:05

Hello all,
Well, it would seem last night all our Los were playing up around the country (and beyond!), OH was on bath and bed duty and I was in the garden having a cup of tea and sneaky cig and could hear B crying. OH eventually lost his temper and has to come and get me Angry to settle him. He has the rotavirus, yuk! Never thought I'd get through so many nappies. Also teething and I'm using calgel which he loves.
wiggles you have put the fear of god into me about bloody parents races in the future, I'll have to get a note from my mum or say it's my period or something.
Jane have everything crossed for you Smile
Feel like such a part timer on here but in my defence I've been taking on an estate agents and trying to arrange our move this weekend so haven't had any much free time.

Deliaskis · 09/06/2011 21:23

So teething is becoming a real thing it seems? I keep kind of thinking it is with C but then feeling silly because 'all the books' say they are likely to get teeth around 6 months, but I think that the moving around in the gums must be what's getting them now.

Yay for MizK and Ponyo successful meet up. So now you've decided you two are not freaks, will you shun the rest of us, as only weirdy internet friends and not actual proper ones? I remember the first time I met 'someone off the internet', people were a bit Shock about it, but we've done it (not that reastie) loads since cos of an online ski club we're in.

Needto sorry you've had to deal with nasty estate agents. We can now de-instruct (or destruct?) ours as we've done it all by ourselves.

reastie sorry about your anxiety issues but glad you've got an apt and hope it goes OK.

Dx

ledkr · 09/06/2011 22:16

Ah need to poor thing. Hope he better soon.
Deb dh sounds like a gem Hmm does he never ever get up and give you a rest,i think hats off to you,i bought up 4 on my own for 6 yrs but at least had support from friends and relatives, you are very placis, what would he have done if hed have married a me? Haha. I wish i could give you alittle break,i flippin would too if i was nearer, round of applause for deb please.

hubbard im not feeling up for it either and that as you may know is unusual for me, iget pissed off with going to bed early like a child to get some sleep whilst he can potter about watching crap and eating cereal. He does his fair share with d tho. I just made my tea and hid my maltesers and was off to bed to watch the job fairy on i player but he jumped up and followed despite my saying sleep in the spare room have a break Grin fucker is up now ruining my me time, grrrrr

hubbard86 · 09/06/2011 23:56

So much for a bloody early night my brain won't shut up so i thought i'd mn instead. reastie i wish i could say that but he was made redundant back in jan and is trying to get everything sorted to set up his own business. he does pull his weight most of the time but gets frustrated very quickly if dc's don't do exactly what he thinks they should be. freya fell asleep at 7 before she even had her bedtime bottle so will feed her when i finish mning. I bathed her with tom for the 1st time tonight and i've never seen a bigger smile he was so sweet with her, he washed her hair and face it relly made my heart glow. she grizzled while dh and i were eating dinner and i suddenly heard her mobile start playing, tom had got out of bed, climed his gate, gave her a dummy set the mobile and went back to bed. He really is a doting big brother.
congrats d for buying a new house
poor ledkr loosing your me time
good luck with the estate agents needto

janedoe25 · 10/06/2011 07:46

hubbard that is the cutest thing i have ever heard, Tom sounds sooo sweet Smile

needto I hope B is better soon, poor wee mite.

delia Yay for the house!

four4me I have recorded that programme, will watch it later.

Hope you all have a good day, im just waiting on the mindees comming then it's off to school then i am done for the day! Oh what to do............

ILovePonyo · 10/06/2011 07:55

Good morning, well I'm really hoping you all had sleep babies as dd seemed to have what all the other babies had wed night - she was awake and noisy every hour is seemed Confused Wasn't hungry, so I had to put the dummy in then keep replacing it every so often, hoe annoying.

I also thinkk she is definitely getting too big for her moses basket, maybe she was waking her self up kicking the end of it? Am confused as to what to do re: cot though. Don't know if I'm ready to put her into her own room, we can prob fit the cot in our room at the end of the bed but then would it be disturbing her again moving her eventually into her own room? Too tired to think bout it now :)

delia how funny about how your moving house came to be, hopefully it will be pretty straightforward? Hope I don't jinx it Hmm

reastie thats v true, think I need MizK to confirm I'm normal, or maybe she'll never come on the thread again Wink no photos sorry, didn't thiink of it actually, oops. Thanks for clearing up what dtd means, yes I'm far to tired for any of that malarky at the mo.

Four4 Grin at T cheating at sports day, I missed that prog will have to see if its repeated.

Needto what is the rotavirus?! Sounds grim. Good luck with the move, I always find moving house so stressful I'm sure dp and I have nearly split up when we've moved each time oin the past - sorry thats not very helpful is it! Grin I will also be a mum at sports day with a note to get out of having to do any races, good plan.

delia sorry you can't get rid of me that easily Wink Funny thing is, I always used to think it was dodgy if couples had originally met on the internet - no offence to anyone on here if they met there dp/h's that way! - now I am a lot more open minded believe me :)

ledkr hope you have had a better night

hubbard that is so sweet about F's big bro looking after her, lovely :) Pleased about the harness too btw.

That was a long post, I'm off for a cuppa now

ledkr · 10/06/2011 08:20

Hi all, well i can recommend the half hr daylight before bed she woke at 5.45 and i think that was because sir pissalot got up to wee grrrrr.
hubbard When i first put d in with els she said "ive always wanted a little sister to bath with" my dc's have always been hands on with the younger ones-they had to be or they got no peace haha, its lovely for Tom tho, they will be close.
4forme Thats lovely to hear about Thomas at school. Ds 2 has mild cp and a weakness on his right side so was never very good at any sports,he was like the joker too and cos he knew he was crap he'd make ajoke about it and end up with the biggest cheers, they werent so kind at senior school but by then he was nearly 6 foot with ahobby of martial arts haha so wasnt a problem. My niece who has ds has very seriouys behaviour probs-violence-so she cant go to main stream,i think sil is silly cos she makes too many allowances for her,in feel she would bebefit from some clear boundaries, she cant even meet D cos she would hurt her Sad
Having another chill day today as next week will be busy i feel. Got my euros yesterday im excited but feel bad leaving D as she seems to quite like me Grin

chocoroo · 10/06/2011 08:41

Morning all!

Hope the nights are getting better. Not so bad here, although I've hauled R into our bed at 5am the last couple of days and managed to get another hour or sleep.

Delia and need2 Fab about your moves, although I don't envy you. I still have a cold sweat if I think about moving again.

ponyo Can recommend the travel cot route. We moved R into hers about 3 weeks ago and she's slept much better in there. And the amount of rolling and moving around she does now, it's a good thing - she would have had the Moses basket over!

ledkr Interesting re: half hour daylight before bed. We had R out shopping last night until just before bath time and she settled really well. We're going to a BBQ tonight and she will be put to bed there before we cart her home on the bus at an unreasonable hour so maybe that will work too.

Jane Jealous atypu being done for the day. We're having a lazy day here but still loads to do. And I need to shred...

Hubbard Your story about Tom brought a tear to my eye, that is soooo cute,

Four4 I love the Born To Be Different programme. I found it really interesting how the children are already grasping their own decisions. How many 10 year olds without problems would have the confidence to do that? I think it's fab.

Right, hello to everyone else but I need to go and take my soup off the hob. Yep, I've turned into one of those people who makes soup before 9am. WTF?!

MizK · 10/06/2011 09:38

morning girls, hope everyone slept well - sounds like fresh air before bed is the way forward? Cass fed at 1 30am and 430. I feel like its getting worse not better, look like death today. So I shall be taking her for a bracing walk this evening!
hubbard that is so cute! You obv have a very considerate little boy, you must be super proud of him.
Congrats on people moving house, exciting but stressful - will all be worth it in the end :)
Four4 I havent seen the show but would like to watch. My DS has aspergers syndrome so I am interested in how families with special needs get on, esp as lots of children have way more needs than my son and get on brilliantly, might inspire me when things get tricky?
ledkr dont feel bad about leaving D, you are just putting in some time with your relationship with Ella, which is a really good thing. Plus maybe D will bond more with DH while they have some daddy/baby time! So really it can only be a good thing (plus you deserve a holiday!)
Can confirm that Feb meet up went v well - and indeed ponyo is not a middle aged anorak wearing man named Derek as my DP taunted me beforehand! She and Anya are lovely! Anya is bee-yoo-tiful! She looks like a Disney baby with huge eyes and loads of dark hair - I think Cass was a bit jel of her hair tbh..... :)
Stupid shred has fooked my knee, when I do the squats etc get a horrible shooting pain that actually makes me feel sick. Giving it a rest for a couple of days...
Right off to get ready as DP is taking me to Jamie's Italian for lunch today, yay! Have good days everyone.

ledkr · 10/06/2011 09:59

Mizk Thanks for easing my guilt re leaving d.Its just she so clearly recognises me now and really laughs.
I too have done my knee in and was finding both knees very stiff walking up the stairs.I will probably leave it untill back from paris now cos will be packing at the weekend.
Be clear anyone who wants to do it,its the daylight that they need and not so much the fresh air, something to do with cortizone levels. I am ok with 6 am but 5 is ridiculous,it means you are watching the clock fromabout 8 to make sure you get to bed early.
I was interested to hear hubbard say they were eating dinner when kids in bed, does anyone else wait untill kids in bed?I do,D is particularly tired at 5 and we are counting down till bedtime there is no way i could eat then,it will be easier when d is in a high chair and can have some quavers healthy snacks whilst we eat.
Have fun at Jamies,

Four4me · 10/06/2011 10:00

ledkr such a shame about your niece not being able to meet Dilly yet. We treat Thomas like the others, in fact he is the most gentle with Archie.
Like all kids though they are all different and who knows what the future holds. Am just waiting for a new mum to come round today she has had a baby with 'surprise' downs syndrome this March and the hospital put us in touch.

I cried watching BTBD.

Good luck with house sales and moving! Such a stressful thing to do.

choc fancy bringing me some yummy homemade soup for lunch!?

hubbard bless your Tom! Train them young I say, although Imogen was trying to give A a suck on a Gingerbreadman the other day and mean mummy said no!

Have a good day all.

Emski76 · 10/06/2011 10:04

Mizk and Ponyo, glad your meet up went well and that neither of you are dodgy weirdos! As someone else said (can't remember who) please don't desert us now ad Internet weirdos!
Four, I think I've recorded that show, will attempt to watch it at some point this weekend!
Delia, what a fab way to buy a house. Good luck with it all, will be great and worth it when you've moved in!
Deb, I tried to toilet train Ben twice before he did it himself at 2.10 years old. He watched his friend weeing in the toilet and decided to wear pants, then it all clicked into place. He still had accidents up to a few months ago though and still wears nappies to bed as he says he's always to desperate in the morning to make it to the toilet!
Guys, I'm afraid to say that I will probably be one of those soccer mums. I'm like it already when Ben has his swimming lesson, I must look like a total nob but can't help it!
Hubbard, Tom sounds lovely. May have to train Ben to help out more! Tom sounds like a lovely caring boy.
Need to, the rotavirus sounds yucky, hope he's better soon.
Well, Noah woke at 10 last night and had a feed then ended up in with me at 4.30, we had a lovely cuddle and snooze together, it was lovely, it held my hair and played with it as he fell asleep
Can I talk to you guys about dh. He's working really hard at the moment and I know he's doing it for us but between his work and his studying it feels like we hardly see him. This week he's been in work for 6am and when he's hone it's clear he had work on his mind. I'm feeling quite resentful about it and have started being quite short with him, and barely talking to him. I'm sure he has no idea why, and thinks everything's fine. Any advice! I know I should talk to him but it seems like nothing ever changes.
