I wanted to remark to someone, was going to post in chat, then was embarassed, and thought you lot would be more likely to mock me in a nice way rather than an actual mean way, so here goes:

Baby George in Home & Away has the same playmat as Claudia, I noticed, I let out a bit of a squeal, and immediately wanted to tell someone [saddo icon].

So there you go, mock away!

byronicheroine · 08/06/2011 14:07

Heating?? > it IS JUNE , right?!
OK, so chocolate... that should work!
And, merci buckets, medames, one is a woman of the world you know (6 months in Paris post Uni bumming around gaining valuable life experinces)

byronicheroine · 08/06/2011 14:09

Delia O. M. G!!
So so [jealous] , I love will smith (remember him?) home and away

Deliaskis · 08/06/2011 14:12

Byron Will Smith made a rugged and scruffy comeback a few months ago, then killed a man, and went to jail Shock

[now wondering if baby George also prefers the orange duck bell thing of all the dangling toys?]

chocoroo · 08/06/2011 14:12

Well, back from Baby Sensory and R had another nap as we walked home. Shame she didn't nap at home as then I could have done the same!

wiggles New bag sounds lovely. It's my birthday in a few weeks and we just booked to do a champagne tasting evening at a Michelin starred restaurant. Doubt I'll be getting presents as well as it cost ££££££££

Delia am unable to mock, as I am TOTALLY addicted to Neighbours. Will
happily watch force myself to watch H&A in a mo to check out the playmate.

Byronic Am v jealous of your paddling pool. Am desperate to take R to the seaside, maybe a big paddling pool could be a stand in?!

ledkr · 08/06/2011 14:12

mi no hablo francais
hablo un poco de español sólo.
Byron id keep quiet if i was you.i had a 7-7 sleeper from 7 wks and now look Confused the mn jinx.
Thanks to everyone for encouragement and sharing,i feel a fool cos she sleeps right thru untill then so i should be ok,we are going to take it in turns till it passes,i am on an early wakers thread and there is some great advice re a technique which involves exposure to daylight,i cant do links but look on my profile at recent threads and you can look.
day got worse. i had a physio app and tok her but she literally screamed like ive never heard her scream before, went all red so when i was called i justcancelled it Shock then had another of those moments where i almost tearfull lugged the carset to the car and turned my bag out all over the car floor looking for her milk all whilst she roared. i drove home with music blaring, she is fine now, weirdo. dont go to gay parrreeeeee untill monday tho, will sleep the sleep pf the gods.
reastie i also think you are doing amazingly.

40Weeks · 08/06/2011 14:20

Happy bday wiggles have a great day

How are you after your tin attack Jane ? thank goodness no fat lip!

ledkr chocoroo and suzym can I join the tired club? Ds2 has been up at 5 (sometimes earlier) every day since before Easter which seems go have now programmed M's body clock. I got about 3 hours last night Sad

Deliaskis · 08/06/2011 14:30

Ledkr sorry you're having a tough time with early waking and randomly screaming baby. I do worry sometimes as C has moments where she just roars for really no reason, no idea why it comes and then goes for no reason. It's really distressing though and I too have left places/appointments/groups etc. with tears in my eyes thinking 'why can't I just do x'. Last week it was a cup of tea in a cafe with a friend, the week before it was a pn group where C's rage meant nobody could hear anything so I left.

With C I am feeling that at the moment it is mainly due to overstimulation, tiredness, frustration, just too much going on in her head type of things. it's horrid though.

reastie I also think you're doing brill, I'm a bit in awe of you actually (in a nice way), as you seem to have come so far. It's lovely.

Also wiggles is totally fab, for lovely pm she sent just when I needed it.

In fact you're all lovely and I don't know what I would do without you lot, even though I'm a bit on and off here. So thanks.

D

Emski76 · 08/06/2011 14:44

Same here Delia, I think your all fab, so supportive. Shame we couldn't all live closer together and be friends in rl.

ILovePonyo · 08/06/2011 15:35

Hello lovely ladies, am back from dd's jabs, it wasn't as bad as I thought (silly me) she screamed of course but is now having a (big hopefully) sleep.

Agree with delia and Emski, this thread is great. I know I hardly ever posted when pg (and regret it now!) I think I was lucky I had a relatively straightforward pg. Some of the best advice I've got has come straight from people on this thread, you're all fantastic Grin Blush

reastie I too would love to have more children but for me its the early weeks that put me off, not pg, I found it so hard,I wonder when you start forgetting how bad it was Grin

ledkr yikes at D's screaming fit, so weird, I wonder what on earth sets them off? Bet you can't wait for monday.

byronic i've had my heating on too, weather is odd here today, sun, rain, hail, everything Confused

delia you are a saddo Grin Wink And now I'm going to have to watch home and away to see this playmat!

40 feel for you, heres hoping the 5am wakings stop soon? I can recommend a blackout blind if your room gets light early in the morning.

Hi everyone else, guess what I've not shredded today, naughty ponyo

Grannyapple · 08/06/2011 16:21

Hi ladies...I'll join the shattered/non sleepers club! N woke at half 4 this morning....but that's good...is normally 3ish & that's a dream feed too...he has only slept thru twice since he arrived...& even then only cos of his jabs!!

Am on day 4th shred & finding it ok...so far!!

reastie thx for the amazon link for fathers day gift...tis perfect!!

Happy birthday wiggles & enjoy Paris ledkr

40Weeks · 08/06/2011 16:35

Thanks ponyo we have blackout blinds and lining on all the curtains in every room so it's just his body clock I think. I read some of that thread ledkr and am going to try the outdoor play tonight as he slept later at centre parcs, oddly enough

reastie · 08/06/2011 17:06

delia Grin re: home and away baby mat. Baby India on neighbours had alices doll a while ago and DH nearly choked on his choc ice to shout out 'look, there's alices doll' Grin

no promblem grannyapple re fathers day link - glad someone found it useful Grin

stop being so nice to me Blush but I agree in that this thread is the best thing ever - I've learnt so many things I would have never known which has made things so much easier, not to mention just being able to moan discuss the theory of relativity and such like.

have decided to try and talk to dh tonight if he's in a good mood re PIl again to really get across to him how much it's upsetting me - couldn't sleep last nigth AGAIN worry about the whole situation Confused

janedoe25 · 08/06/2011 18:34

I agree with everyone else, this thread has been amazing, from conception to birth and beyond! You ladies have been so supportive and have helped me to get through the past few horrid months. I consider you all good friends!

reastie Hope you manage to talk to dh about pil.

Just done the shred with no tin mishaps Grin

wigglesrock · 08/06/2011 19:27

Bean shredding jane Grin

ledkr thanks for the tip on the early waking thread, Anna was later this am but going to keep it in mind. Like someone on the other thread I had noticed that mine always slept much better on holiday when we would have went for a walk before bed, after dinner. The best I ever slept with O (the amazing non-sleeper) was when we were away. That alone made the cost of the holiday worthwhile!!

Have had lovely day, went to mums after the school pick up and had a cake etc, had to fight off Sofia & Olivia to blow out the candles Grin Have eaten so much, can't move!! The only slightly perturbing issue is that several people have bought me skincare, facial creams etc for my birthday, wonder if they're trying to tell me something Hmm

This thread had been a life saver for me too, just to know someone else is there at most times is brilliant.

ILovePonyo · 08/06/2011 20:13

reastie good luck talking to dp. You cannot afford to lose sleep worrying about your MIL! Hope it goes well and he is understanding.

wiggles glad you've had a nice birthday, I wouldn't worry about getting lots of skincare, I love pots and creams and allsorts, make the most of it! Grin at "bean" doing the shred hahaha, jane thats never going to be forgotten you know Wink

dd has been very chirpy today considering she had her jabs earlier, put her to bed a bit earlier than usual as she was tired and faling asleep on her bottle. Heres hoping that doesn't mean early wakings.
Did I mention on here when I stayed at my mums a few weeks ago she slept until 9am both mornings?! Seems like I imagined it now.

First feb ladies meet up tomo, myself and MizK are meeting in Nottm city centre, maybe one day we could have a thread meet up with everyone....

Emski76 · 08/06/2011 20:19

Hope Ponyo and Mizk enjoy your meet up tomorrow, we will want to hear all about it!
Good luck Reastie with dh, just be honest. Let us know how you get on.
Here's to a good nights sleep and no early wakings for all

ledkr · 08/06/2011 20:43

Envy to the meetup,i often feel a bit sad that we may never actually meet,we have been thru so much together its untrue,i have admitted to stuff id never do in rl,one of my memories is of the night d was born and i was onmn all night,i announced my news on this thread an another one about my c section and everyone was congratulating me all night, even mums net royalty. I read the old thread once and it made me really cry.
Jane its been a real pleasure to have you still on this thread,i think we all felt so sad and useless when Zoe was born and its been so nice to be able to actually help you a bit and so brave of you to stay,i was moaning this am and suddenly thought maybe youd be pissed off with my damn un gratefullness but then i knew you wouldnt.
D had some daylight exposure thru the patio doors as is cold here too. She had a big grizzle in the bath which is unusual and then fell asleep on the bottle. I feel more rational now about the mornings, the mistake i made was trying to get her back down instead of just making tea and mn.We are going to try and take it in turns so we only get up every 2 days untill this damn phase passes.Having avodka in the bath atm. Glad you had a good day wiggs.

suzym1984 · 08/06/2011 20:59

Envy of your vodka in the bath ledkr sounds yummy!

had to put Harry to bed at 6.30 as he was sooo tired, lets hope he doesnt wake early! Going to bed soon and will DH to do a dreamfeed.

Good luck with the "talk" *reastie, let us know how you get on.

wiggles I LOVE skincare and always get loads at bdays and xmas and Im only 26...what does that say about me (hard paper round!)

Had a lovely day today with my friend, H was so well behaved during lunch and let me eat and drink coffee in peace while he giggled away in his pushchair.

Speaking of pushchairs, I remember that a few of you ladies also bought the babystyle oyster, has anyone started using the pushchair bit instead of the pram body? H had been in it for weeks now, and my friend seemed shocked as hes not yet 6mnth, but he is so much happier when he can see out.

Another question, does anyone have a cot mobile/ light show as part of their bedtime routine? My friend uses a lightshow and says its great for lulling her LO off to sleep, and its vioce activated so when LO cries in the night it comes on and gets him back to sleep. Any thoughts?

suzym1984 · 08/06/2011 21:00

Oh, and ledkr didnt know if it would help you, as maybe when D wakes early she might stay occupies watching the lightshow, and may even drop back off?

reastie · 08/06/2011 21:23

suzy I know deb swears by the lightshow. We have one and it can shut alice up but hasn't yet got her to sleep - she gets too excited by the pictures on the ceiling Hmm . We have a travel system (not yours) and haven't been using the pram for weeks Blush as alice gets so bored and miserable. I use the car seat plugged into it but was saying to dh at the week end I might try assembling the push cahir bit out of interest to see if it works yet or not.

lol at the bean shredding Grin

Grin cheers to ledkr and her vodka bath. i've often thought about reading the initial thread back but felt too Blush about what on earth I've said and it's so sad with all the people who left us at the beginning. Which reminds me - I know knitternottwitter came on a while ago to say she was now pg - anyone have an update on if all is still ok? [nosey]

oh, and ledkr Grin to mn royalty saying congrats to you (I know not of this mn royalty) - but, have they had a dotd like reastie here? Wink Grin

spoke to dh. didn't let everything out but certainly told him what was on my mind. he seemed glad that i told him as it was bothering him so much and said we wouldn't see pil this week end (horrah Grin ) and that he will now look out for mils behaviour as he wasn't aware of it before (altho don't think he'll see the probs I do). feels good that he knows how I feel but I felt really guilty and hard to explain it in a way that wasn't just a big old moan at mil - had to word it carefully Hmm .

ponyo and mizk lots of piccies tomorrow please Grin

btw - will someone explain to me about fruitshoots and greggs and mn? was reading a thread and it seems these are some kind of in joke/thing with mners which clearly I've missed out on Hmm

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 08/06/2011 21:26

reastie knitternottwitters news wasn't good, bumped into her on a thread a while ago Sad

Fruitshoots and greggs are disapproved of on MN - lazy parenting or some other shite Grin

reastie · 08/06/2011 21:31

ahh, poor knitternottwitter - I feel so :( for her - I was geniunely excited when i heard her good news. i still think of her as she was the initial thread leader iykwim

thanks for the greggs and fruitshoots update - I am proud to say I don't use either so must pass the test to be on mn Grin

OP posts:
chocoroo · 08/06/2011 21:44

Hello,

Well, made it through and don't feel too bad. R went to bed a bit later due to a late nap so fingers crossed she doesn't repeat last night's fun.

Suzy We have an Oyster and have been using the pushchair for at least a month. R loves it, she's a proper nosy monkey. Still use the carrycot if we're going to be out late but to be honest she's almost too big for it.

reastie I think the Greggs and Fruitshoot thing is a joke about how snobby MN can be. See also Pombears and nice Ham. There was a thread the other day about leaving fake shopping lists around for other MNers to find.

ponyo and MizK Hope the meet up goes well. We should all have one one day. Can we leave the babes at home though and drink Wine?

ledkr I'm going to do the same with R if she plays her tricks again - get up early and have a cuppa. Shell drop off again eventually and I can nap. I'm just keen to avoid it becoming a habit.

Off to PIL in the morning. MIL wants to talk to me about BLW and has just asked if I have a baby development book she can borrow. I told her I just MN! Wish me luck, I may need some of ledkr's vodka by lunchtime...

Deliaskis · 08/06/2011 21:47

Also sad for knitternottwitter as she kind of got us all started and I was so hoping it would turn out well for her this time.

reastie am Shock that you have got this far on mn without knowing about Greggs and Fruit Shoots!! I feel like someone mentions them on pretty much every thread I read. Apart from this one, until now...

Glad you had a talk with DH and even if he doesn't see her behaviour exactly the way you do, at least he will have his eyes more open to it, and you can discuss more openly in future, including specifics, instead of just having to stew!

Glad to see the Feb club love-in is continuing.

Here's wishing you all lots of sleep tonight.
