d I am in the same position as you re: mil looking after LO (1 day in my case a week) when I'm back at work. I'm v grateful she is able to but at the same time I'm Hmm about it - I think mine would do the same thing as your re: the car problem Confused .

deb Shock at the mr wippy etc. I feel like weaning is getting scarily close as I've had a free sample of weaning baby foods from both ocado and cow and gate (I think) this week Confused . Raining here today and yesterday too - first time properly I think since I had alice.

I think it was d who I was discussing oddness at day time naps recently. Alice has been really odd past couple of days - great at night sleeping through so really can't complain but sooooo wingy in the day but will not go to sleep at all. The only thing I've found that works is taking her in her buggy for walks and that only lasts for as long as I keep walking - most unlike her. Maybe it's just as they change as they get older.

choc I defo think hormones are making me feel worse to MIL, but my mum tells me I have a right to be Angry at them. Am attempting discussion with DH tonight - fingers crossed he understands I don't think they should invite themselves to pop over every weekend. My mum says start as I mean to carry on Hmm

ponyo glad you enjoyed your lazy day Grin

Got first baby class tomorrow and am a bit [wobbly legs]. It's right in the time alice would be sleeping then waking up for a feed so I'm going to have to shift her about. Hope she doesn't cry or sleep through the entire thing - would feel it a waste of money Wink

Pain in the arse really cos since d has been taking more she doesnt have as many bottles and today seems largely disinterested in her bots.I just tried some rice and it wasnt too sucessfull,it kept coming out and i kept putting it back in,we are at that annoying stage where she is grumpy but too late for asleep.I wil read posts later.

janedoe25 · 06/06/2011 17:00

debka Shock at your friend's baby, being in a forward facing seat already is so dangerous, and the mr whippy etc, god some people do not have a clue!

Ah reastie i got the cown and gate sample throught the door too, the one with the fridge magnet photo frame it made me Sad. Good luck with the baby group, but im sure you will fine.

PONYO iam Envy at your lazy day.

Emski76 · 06/06/2011 18:35

OMG! Noah has found his balls and is grabbing them so tightly I fear he may not be able to father children!! His obsession has started!

suzym1984 · 06/06/2011 19:05

emski harry has been doing that too! Im sure that Noah and harry have been haing talks with each other (except Noah is now better at night sleep than Harry Envy).

Update on bedtime, put H to bed awake tonight with a little teddy to snuggle and he dropped off on his own! Going to keep trying and not obsess too much, as long as he does it sometimes thats ok isnt it? Only problem is that he dropped off without having his bottle so will no doubt be waking all thru the night to make up for it Sad

Deliaskis · 06/06/2011 19:16

reastie C is still odd with naps at the mo. Is sleeping well at night, but today for e.g. needed loads of nap time, but was quite hard to get down for them (clearly tired but fighting it), although slept for ages each time.

I'm convinced there is a bit of a growth spurt going on at the mo, and C is also doing lots of new things, first real good attempts at rolling today, and also grabbing onto both her feet, and also holding her own bottle today, so I think she is just doing lots of growing and developing at the mo.

D

wigglesrock · 06/06/2011 19:59

Hello, was at work today, so am absolutely knackered, now seriously freaking out about going back in November, I've worked Sat and today and the house is a bloody tip, holiday clothes everywhere aaaagggh!!

suzym I know its easy to say but try and get some rest. Anna is on absolutely no routine at all. She has her last bottle at around 7pmish and is up once, sometimes twice in the night. She feeds to sleep, and sometimes she goes up to her cot and if sometimes she doesn't settle, I lift her down again and she sleeps on a comfy blanket downstairs until I go to bed Blush She also doesn't nap during the day in her cot, she sleeps for quite long periods of time during the day but on her blanket, in her pram, or sometimes in her car seat.

Deliaskis Anna is also really trying to grab her bottle and her feet Grin

She is having her third lot of jabs tomorrow, am going to have to out myself - I let Sofia and Olivia taste a poke or Mr Whippy to you Grin when they were about 5/6 months old, right off to flame myself and crack open some fruit shoots Grin

ledkr · 06/06/2011 19:59

yes d is doing all the above and has also wanted to sleep all day,i thought it may have been the early start but maybe a grow. I gave up and put her to bed before 7 ill probably be up with the lark but i couldnt keep her from crying and moaning. She went out like a light,i gave her some calpol cos i wasnt sure if she was suffering from her cold. Have had wine and pasta so hope she sleeps abit.
Where is wiggles today?

ledkr · 06/06/2011 20:00

oh there you are

ledkr · 06/06/2011 20:04

Wiggles,Delilah was thoroughly enjoying some carrot cake frosting last night and she had some easter egg at easter,I gave dgs a mini milk when he was just sitting up he loved it, i still have the video Grin
As for genitalia mauling i remember ds pulling their willies out to an alarming length.

wigglesrock · 06/06/2011 20:19

ledkr knew you wouldn't let me down Wink Talking of willies which you were Grin two of my friends mentioned at the weekend that they were potty training their little boys and that both boys were going willy mad Grin Apparently both are very impressed with their new found easy access!! When do you and Ella head away, I think you go a few days before me. The weather is absolutely pants here so am really looking forward to it.

suzym1984 · 06/06/2011 20:24

haha Ledkr you make me feel better about the bit of baby rice :-)

Well Harry has done it again, fallen asleep without supper, he has only has 2 bottles today, last one at 2.30pm!!!! Arrrrrrr!!!!! what should I do? I think he has an eating disorder!

chocoroo · 06/06/2011 20:36

Evening!

Another toe grabber here...R's been mad for her feet since last week. She's also rolling on to her side all the time. She's gone right over once or twice and believe me we've known all about it! She's also holding her bottle Delia so I've bought her a little cup thing - it's Tommee Tippee and has big handles and a teat v similar to the bottles anyway. She'll hold the handles and if I put the teat to her mouth she'll suck a bit. I've only put water in it so far though so whatever she does drink comes straight back out again when she realises what it is. It's actually quite amusing!

Naps are always odd round here - R won't go down upstairs really but will sleep in her chair or sometimes on her playmat. She reliably sleeps in the buggy if we go out though.

Seem to have a busy week this week and I feel mich happier for it. Got the first session of Buggy Fit tomorrow so will probably skip the Shred. And then an NCT meetup where I have to attempt not to eat cake...

ILovePonyo · 06/06/2011 20:49

Wow suzy do you think H is having a growth spurt and sleeping more than feeding? Hope you're not up at some stupid time with him, fingers crossed :)

wiggles good luck with the jabs tomo, will you let me know how you get on? dd has hers on wed and I'm dreading it already, you'd think it was me being stuck 3 times with a needle Hmm

choco thanks for reassurance re: bottles. Buggy fit Shock do report back!

I've noticed dd has been grabbing her bits when we've been doing nappy changes, she a scratcher though and I really hope she doesn't scratch herself there, she's already got a nasty looking cut on her leg from her sharp nails Hmm

Oh and I dunked my finger in my orange squash earlier and let dd lick it, she looked a bit surprised but that was it.

Sorry if I've missed anyone xx

ILovePonyo · 06/06/2011 20:51

Oh and I meant to ask if anyones baby does this - dd has only properly chuckled once. Now when we get her close to doing it (by doing the same things that got the chuckle in the first place and other stupid things) she looks on the brink of a giggle but then starts crying! Confused

I don't know if maybe theres a fine line between a laugh and a cry but its a bit baffling!

chocoroo · 06/06/2011 21:09

ponyo We get very few actual chuckles but R constantly looks like she's laughing iykwim. No crying instead though but who knows, may e she thinks she's laughing!

wobblybumm · 06/06/2011 21:22

choc and ponyo i have been doing pushy mothers which i think is similar to buggy fit. i pretend it's exercise but it's really just nattering round the park and then going for cake! N usually gets fed up in his pram after about 30mins so i just end up carrying him and trying to lunge Confused.
ponyo N also chortles then randomly starts crying, i just put it down to his general weirdness. he also sometimes starts laughing hysterically when he is really tired so it's probably not even a real laugh
wiggles you are so impressive for going to work
suzy hope we both have better nights tonight

MizK · 06/06/2011 21:23

evening all....
jane bet that wasnt v nice getting that through the door. Not the same I know but I kept getting progress emails when I had a mc and it made me really wobbly every time, big hugs xxx
Cant remember all posts due to not being on for a couple of days but, re: weaning, Cassia has been having baby rice since last Thursday - she's taking it OK so going to add in pear this week. She is a little heifer though and having two full feeds in the night when she used to sleep through so I know she needs extra nourishment. And she's only just 16 weeks so I know I'm evil - funny tho how things that are so frowned on by mumsnetters are positively normal in RL! MIL was practically cheering when I said I had started weaning and began reminiscing about rusks in the bottle for babies being the done thing (its a wonder DP has lovely teeth!)
wiggles good luck with jabs, ours are tomorrow too waaa!
ponyo I hope your DD isnt too petite and cute as poor Cass is going to look like a monster next to her on Thursday! She is so chubby that her 3-6 month dresses are straining across her body!
ledkr the plank jacks!!! EVIL. Jillian is a sadist but I do admit I think its having an effect, personally I really hate the walk down push ups at the beginning, and the ab exercise where you have to lower your legs, horrid. 6 more days on l2 then its the dreaded level 3. 40weeks how are you finding it?
We have had a horrid day today as Cassia has decided that I must sing/dance/entertain/kiss and cuddle her at all times or she will scream the place down. She is so clingy all of a sudden, weird.

wigglesrock · 06/06/2011 21:32

wobblybumm I'm only going in for the money Grin and to be honest its a little harder than I thought, am working on Thu night and then doing a split shift on Sat day/night , think I'll knock it on the head for a while after that (can only do 10 KIT days anyway) Need to get some Euros ready for all the Ibiza tat that I the girls are going to buy!!

Anna sometimes walks a very fine line between laughing and hysterical tears Smile Ponyo A also has very long nails and they seem to grow at a really fast rate. She gave me very nasty scratches down my neck earlier.

Heading out to lunch tomorrow with best friend, [sshh] its my birthday on Wednesday, so am looking forward to a gool old bitch moan.

hubbard86 · 06/06/2011 21:39

wow haven't been on for ages and there are so many pages i can't catch up.
Have started thinking about weaning but am gonna wait and see. We're still getting atleast 4 pooey nappies a day so her guts definatley not ready yet. Freya only drinks about 5oz each feed and has 6 feeds a day. She now weighs 12lb 7 though so i know she's gaining enough.
As of wed freya will be completley harness free am a little worried though as when she went 1 night without the harness (she'd p'd all over it) it was the worst nights sleep ever awake every hr and she normally sleeps 7.30 - 8am. May have to try swaddling her legs and see if that helps. Freya still hasn't giggled she'll get really excited and look as if she's gonna laugh then stop and sometimes cry.

Hope you ladies and babies are all happy and healthy. X

janedoe25 · 06/06/2011 21:49

Grin at the boys finding their belongings, my wee bro was obsessed with his willy as a baby/toddler!

I hope round 3 of injections go well and don't bother the babies too much.

mizk i have started the shred again and im defo sticking to it this time, im only on level 1 and feeling the burn!

wiggles enjoy your lunch and bitch!

I have a day of paperwork ahead of me tomorrow Confused i'm due my care commission inspection soon.

tadjennyp · 06/06/2011 22:11

Hello again, haven't posted for a while as have been feeling quite down. Hope you are all ok. Any chance of an update? How did Jane's balloon release go for Zoe? Are Delia and Debka feeling better? How is Reastie's kitchen? Does D have her operation appointment through yet? How is the shred going? Hope you have a lovely birthday lunch tomorrow wiggles.

ledkr · 06/06/2011 22:14

jane i did post earlier, but lost it,shame about the samples,my mum had a mw turn up with scales when she had her still birth Hmm very unfortunate.

wiggles i go on the 13th am quite excited but a bit Hmm about leaving D as she is all clingy and obsessed with me at the mo.Im sure she will be ok with dh tho-just about.

ILovePonyo · 06/06/2011 22:18

Well it sounds like its not just dd being random with her giggles so thats good!

MizK I can't wait to see dd and C next to each other now, dd is still in 0-3 months clothing!! I have read somewhere that babies can become a bit more clingy at 4 months so that might be it. Hmm maybe it was on here? (looks at reastie)

hubbard yay for getting rid of the harness this week, I can thoroughly recommend swaddling Grin FOUR pooey napplies a day? Wow, the most dd has managed is 2.

wiggles boo to work but yes think of the money :) dd gave me a horrible scratch on my wrist earlier that looks like the cat did it Hmm

jane enjoy your paperwork Hmm I am on level 1 shred too so will let you know when I am feeling brave enough to move up a level!

Off to bed now after a very productive day of mn-ing and general faffing :)

wigglesrock · 06/06/2011 22:24

Merci buckets tadjenny you ok? I shredded for a few days - difficult but almost impressed myself with my shaky level of fitness Grin Unfortunately did it infront of the girls one day and Sofia asked me why I looked so red and sweaty Shock Put me right off!! I've done a few days in work and its quite a physical job so am substituting it for the Shred but am going to start it again before ledkr and jane shout at me Grin

Ledkr D will be fine, she can have some dad time, and you can bring her back some Minnie Mouse ears Grin
