Its not my pool btw,its the local outdoor pool which i have to share with half of cheltenham and all the local chavs clients Shock tis nice tho and dh is coming.I am off to town forst to purchase a one piece realising that my bikini days are only temporaily over for now grrrr,i hate one pieces i look like a granny-well i8 am a granny but you know what imean.
emski so pleased re the sleeping limpit. What have you done differently?
enjoy the sun all.
Oh yeah-choco just done level 2 Shock there are simply no words!

Four4me · 03/06/2011 10:17

Hi all. Apologies if I've missed anything significant I have just skimmed through as chaotic with holidays and friends popping in etc.

chocoroo love your lovely photos.

needto laughing that he peed on the washing. You'll be cleaning up pee for some time with a boy!!!

Think it was pony and suzym with babies you like being swaddled. Hope I'm right, anyway my friends baby was the same and she bought a Woombie Swaddle. Think it is made by grobag. Have just quickly googled them and there were some on amazon. They are stretchy and go up to big sizes. Thought of it last night and thought I'd tell you about them. May be useful as they get bigger. I'd keep going with swaddling if it helps them sleep, don't worry about what everyone else is doing, I guarantee you won't be swaddling a school child Grin they'll stop needing it in there own time.

debka · 03/06/2011 10:53

I'm getting my comeuppance for my smugness with S sleeping so well before. 9.30, 2.15 and 4.30 last night. Sigh. I've blitzed her room this morning and hung a blanket up at the window, so not a peep of light gets in

emski and reastie any advice?? Grin

ledkr I can't think of you as a Louise, you are forever Ledkr in my head! Pool sounds nice, although my M&D have one and we went in last month, was bloddy FREEZING thought my fanjo was going to fall out!

Warm here again too, I've got S in a vest and cute little dungarees as she was boiling all day yesterday in her babygrow. Proper windy though, but it's always windy here.

Four4me · 03/06/2011 10:55

Sorry ponyo stupid spell check!

reastie · 03/06/2011 11:14

Another hot spot here too Grin

deb I can offer no advice as my incredible sleeping through baby has now decided not to sleep through Hmm .

Anyone see BGT last night? I'm so Grin that dancing man got through - he was great Grin Grin although a little suprised the oxford boys didn't get through. Too many tears to be comfortable viewing though Confused . They do seem to be putting through way too many average acts - either the are trying to make it more entertaining and less serious or britain hasn't actually got much talent Hmm

needto I know I shouldn't but I did Grin at your washing. Just as well it's a nice day to get it all dried.

44me looked at those swaddle things out of interest but was Shock at how expensive they are (although realise that if they work it's completely worth it, just you don't know till you get them if they'll work IYKWIM).

shredled you'll look fab in a one piece and no need for a lida snowden style hold the tummy in one with all the shredding you've been doing Grin

ems fab news re: sleeping noah - bet you'd never see the day Wink

I've got a hv visit at home next week for a 3/4 month check - didn't know we got one of those - anyone else getting one? Just wondered why

Four4me · 03/06/2011 11:34

Oh reastie they will not be thinking you are a terrible parent, must be routine in your area.

Hadn't looked at the price of them, might be able to get them on ebay.

Sitting in the garden- blazing sunshine. Archie is kicking in a vest on a towel in the shade, the big boys are colouring in a huge cardboard box and generally mucking about and Imogen is asleep inside. She was a madam yesterday, she thought I was totally unreasonable to not let her continue sticking first class stamps on her tshirt! Dh had left his office open and she had found the book of 100 stamps! She has expensive taste. It is all calm now with the three boys up and it is amazing how much noise and bickering will happen when she wakes up!

wigglesrock · 03/06/2011 11:48

needto Grin Grin at washing

ledkr afraid you are going to be about 7 hours from me, Cork is supposed to be gooooorgeous (it's funnier if you do the accent!!) Let us know how you get on re swimsuit, think I may have to get something organised re holiday, my sister lend me a whole load of stuff that fits Shock but she has really strange taste in swimming suits!!

reastie hope you are starting to feel better, I'm supposed to have a 16-18 week HV appt but am going to health centre, well assume I am, haven't heard, the HV only came out to the house until A was 10 days old - I didn't have any pre-birth visits either.

emski great news about Noahs sleeping Grin

chocoroo lovely pictures, Romilly is yummy.

byronicheroine I have spent the morning browsing in Primark and Poundland, not so exciting but got loads for the girls for the plane Grin

PS I have bought a black maxi dress from Primark for £11 - its absolutely stunning, and tbh its not because of me, can't do links but run to your nearest Primark girls, exceptionally flattering, makes anyone look like they have a totey waist, I ended up buying a size smaller than usual but I haven't shrunk a size (we'll not discuss the harem trousers I tried on Blush, not really sure what I was thinking!)

wigglesrock · 03/06/2011 11:54

reastie sorry got distracted - what I meant to say was that they are not keeping tabs on you Grin. Different areas do it different ways I'm assuming. The HV could well be coming out to me, Anna is having her 3rd round of injections on Tue so I'll ask find out then.

Emski76 · 03/06/2011 12:16

Thanx all re N sleeping. The only thing we've changed is using lavender in purifier and given hungry milk in last feed. I hope it continues!
Reastie, I think all areas are different in terms of home visits. My hv only cows out now if I ask her to. Other than that I get N weighed every couple of weeks and there are hv there to 'help' with any concerns etc. My sis lives half hour from me and we had totally different care in pregnancy!
Choc, glad your dress came!

reastie · 03/06/2011 12:24

thanks guys. I'm sure my hv said last time she came out for visit (had 3: 1 in pg, 1 a couple of weeks after birth and another about a month after birth as I couldn't drive to get alice weighed and hv seemed happy to come to weigh her) that was it for the home visits and only contact would be in health centres or if I phoned for advice which is why I'm so Hmm . I'm sadly quite looking forward as my hv is really sweet but just made me a bit Confused

wiggles I must go to primark - great idea - I need a dress for my next spectacular social occassion (my mums birthday party Blush ) . I can imagine btw you sifting through all your sistas honeymoon gear seeing what you can use for ibiza Grin oh, and Grin at harem trousers - I will forever think of them as hammer time trousers Wink

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 03/06/2011 13:01

No probs reastie my sister got a whole load of lovely dresses from Primark and Asda and am just taking them all Grin Primark have also got some fabarooni sandals in at the minute. Don't want to talk about the trousers - too painful in more ways than one Grin

Right Sofia's gymnastics this afternoon, schlepping all 3 of them down as Mr W is working from 5pm Sad Should be fun in this heat Hmm Am also working tomorrow and Sofia has 2 birthday parties to get to, we are all going to the 2nd one but Mr W put Livs t-shirt on the wrong way round earlier so am leaving out the girls clothes for the party Grin He's getting worse!!

Deliaskis · 03/06/2011 13:03

Hello ladies,

Well after my wobbly morning yesterday, I actually had a really nice afternoon. C was an angel and lots of fun, so that taught me didn't it? Thanks for support tho, it really makes a difference to know it's not just me.

Sounds like most peeps are getting to enjoy the fine weather. Long may it continue. Although it's hard to know how babies bear up with the heat isn't it? C went to bed in just a vest and thin sleeping bag last night, and has just shorty dungarees and a vest on today. Hope I'm not cooking her but she seems OK. I find that when you have a bad half hour (C had a few windy issues this morning and cried for half an hour), it feels a bit more frantic when you're really hot and I do wonder how it affects her too.

Anyway, off outside to enjoy the sunshine.

Dx

Deliaskis · 03/06/2011 13:04

PS C is 'supposed' to be asleep right now but I'm just giggling at her on the monitor waving her bare legs in the air. I'm sure she's going to kick the camera one day, even though it's miles out of reach.

suzym1984 · 03/06/2011 14:20

delia very jealous of your video monitor, bet that comes in handy!

ledkr no, I havent even started the shred yet [lazy cow emoticon] but it arrived today so I have no excuse now!

reastie big boo for Alice not sleeping thru anymore, I thought you had cracked it there!

Well thanks for the advice, I have been and bought a paddling pool! Not going to putt any water in but will let H have a kick around in it. I bought this one cos it has a sun shade

www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3650529/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CToys+and+games%7C14417629/Trail/searchtext%3EPADDLING+POOOL.htm#pdpProductReviews

Have been trying to put H down for naps awake today to encourage him to self settle. I left one arm out of the swaddle and gave him a muslin to snuggle into (and suck haha!). he seems to cry and whinge for about 10 mins but did then drop off. Its hard to watch him upset tho, I just want to pick him up and cuddle him to sleep!

suzym1984 · 03/06/2011 14:21

I dont know if that link works, or even if anyone is interested!

Deliaskis · 03/06/2011 17:11

suzy the video monitor is ace. My sister had one and I thought it was a gadget for super neurotic and paranoid parents, but it actually makes me less so, as I think without it I would keep creeping up and down stairs to check on her, whereas I can just glance at the camera whilst watching TV with glass of vino in hand. It also stops me jumping up at every cluck as I can see if she's just wiggling but still asleep.

It's also funny just watching her sometimes, when she wakes up she's hilarious, the first thing that happens is she kicks her legs right up, no idea why.

D

MizK · 03/06/2011 19:52

wiggles I think I bought that maxi on Weds! It has an elasticky section under the boobs which pulls you in and quite a low neck? Honestly its a belter of a dress, I felt lush in it, might road test it tomorrow when I meet my friend for lunch....Shame on you for even trying on the harem pants, the only person who can rock them is the genie in Aladdin, fact!
reastie don't stress about HV, lots of people prob get home visits and saves you faffing about going to them, bonus no?
choco your pics are lovely, you make a cute family. PS Cass has that Monsoon outfit with the pink leggings - clearly I have no originality as seem to be style stalking the Feb ladies!
delia am jel of your video monitor bet its super cute watching her sleeping....
Am having a nice Friday reading Grazia and sipping wine, looking forward to some highly calorific takeaway soon. I've now lost half a stone in 3 weeks only because I eat whatever I want on a friday and behave the rest of the week, still a stone and a half to go tho :( but que sera!
Hope you are all having similarly nice evenings :)

wigglesrock · 03/06/2011 20:15

MizK that's the one!!! It's yummy, can't wait to wear it, the weather is supposed to turn here tonight Sad but I don't care, I'll be "catching my death in it" as soon as I get a chance Grin Enjoy your take away.

ledkr good luck with the in-laws and enjoy your time away from them!

Have come over all teary this evening, Sofia read me a bedtime story all by herself this evening and she's not 6 yet Grin One of my happiest mummy memories ever, almost forgiven her for her "everyone in the whole world has a ds console apart from me" rant earlier!!

ILovePonyo · 03/06/2011 20:21

Evening all! Well the PIL have been, who wants some stories?!

Funnily enough they managed to piss dh off more than me this time. And when I say 'they', I mean MIL. FIL is ok (except a bit henpecked). I havn't mentioned this on here yet but dp has had some kidney probs and is having tests this month. Worst case scenario - he loses a kidney. So he was telling them this and she was so flippant - "oh you'll be fine, I don't know what you're worrying about, you've got another kidney" Shock Basically no one ever has it as bad as her health wise (her health is as good as the average persons) and we don't know how lucky we are - she has it so much worse.

MIL's 2nd grandson is a difficult baby so we don't know how lucky we have it with dd apparently. When dd started crying MIL said straight away "oh thats nothing, gs cries much louder than that" She then screamed for 20 mins so I escaped upstairs with her for a bit Grin
If we put her down on her rug "oh you're so lucky, you could never just put gs down like that, he'd cry" she was crying Hmm Confused

She brought first gs with them who is very sweet, but goes on about all the grandchildrens personalities so much already, calling dd "regal" and other stuff that if someone else said it I wouldn't mind but if its her I just think oh shut up. She also says they have personality traits that are similar b'cos they're cousins, but they're not actually related b'cos dp and his sister were adopted so its just a coincidence. So shut up woman.

Hope you all made it though that rant! Can you tell I've been waiting to mn all day?!

suzy are you doing one arm out of swaddle tonight too? Thanks for paddling pool link, will have a look in a mo.

MizK I have wine and Cosmo to read tonight, I deserve it I think!

delia I wonder if the weather effects dd, she was def more grumpy today. I have a video monitor which is fab for the day but I can't have it on at night, I spend all my time watching her and jumping at every little noise Grin

reastie no hv appt for me but you'll be fine, make the most of it and ask any questions have! Shae about A's sleeping through the night stopping, erm at least you know she can do it?!

Four4 Grin at pony and thanks for the link, you lot are fab at linking to useful stuff!

wiggles hope the trekking around in the heat isn't too bad :)

Right will be back on later to see if ledkr has posted any PIL stories seeing as I've waffled away with mine, longest post ever?! :)

suzym1984 · 03/06/2011 20:35

Hi!

Just thought I would quickly post for some advice if anyone is about? H has fallen asleep after not having a feed since 4.30pm!!! Do you think I should wake him at about 10pm for a dreamfeed (assuming he doesnt wake before then)???

suzym1984 · 03/06/2011 20:36

ponyo no he is back to fully swaddled tonight, going to keep practising at nap times for a while yet Grin

chocoroo · 03/06/2011 20:40

Gorgeous day here, so glad I got to enjoy some of it after parcel turned up early.

wiggles and MizK dress sounds lush and total bargain. I didn't look in Primarni the other day when I was dress shopping because ours is a blooming jumble sale. Even if you get there at 9am I just get cross. I'm one of those people who naturally gravitates towards the new stuff in the sales which usually costs me a fortune Blush

MizK how cute is the Monsoon outfit?! My mum has a weakness so she has a couple of outfits from there. Not sure I should condone spending so much on a baby outfit though!

ponyo Congrats on making it through the day with the out-laws. Rant away love! Mine are pretty good, especially as they're relatively local. They proper saved me Tne other day when I had my mini-meltdown. Although MIL has borrowed my baby led weaning book and has declared it a wonderful idea. I'm planning on doing a bit of both as I really want R to be eating well by the time she goes to nursery in November. I'm already Practising my arguments for doing things my way!

DP is out again tonight so I've got some nice wine and some Waitrose Olives to snack on. I'm still weight watching though...not long til I have to get in a bridesmaid dress!

ILovePonyo · 03/06/2011 20:50

suzy this isn't exactly advice but the other dd had a bottle at 4.30 and when we tried to give her another at 7.30 she cried and wouldn't have any, so basically went to bed with out her last bottle and still slept as well as she usually does. Do you normally dreamfeed? B'cos it could be worth leaving it, tho that could be terrible advice Wink sorry! Let me know when you're thinking about stopping swaddling :)

choc I mean to say your photos are lovely, very cute :) My PIL live 4 hours drive away so pretty good eh haha.

MIL also kept saying how we should visit them in the summer, everyone would like to see dd (all dps family live there) well for one thing dp might be having kidney surgery then but also its a big drive with dd, and why can't they drive up here if they all want to see her so much?! Ahem, rant over for now

ILovePonyo · 03/06/2011 20:55

Haha ok I've just thought of another one - I shouldn't worry about my redundancy as its only a job and its only money.
Hmm yes, that would be fine if we didn't have a big fat mortgage and bills to pay!
She has it worse b'cos she is retired now and at least I can get more work etc. Grr sometimes I can't explain it, its how she says things as well as what she says. I've had some Wine Grin

wigglesrock · 03/06/2011 20:59

I'd leave H too, suzy, Anna has never done it, but Sofia used to have a bottle at 4.30pmish and sleep as usual.

Ponyo Shock at your dps mum. DPs health must be a worry to you, even if it might be nothing Grin. She should be supporting you, rant away.

chocoroo I have good in-laws too, but ssssh the first rule about nice mother-in-laws is not to talk about nice mother-in-laws Grin My Primark was a nightmare this morning, think it was ransacked last night, first hint of sun and the halter tops and flipflops come out, typical Belfast women. Out comes the bikini tops and shorts a la Katy Perry Grin
