HI!!!

I've been away again! Well, we went to the Suffolk show yesterday where I got sunburnt and Imy ate a ridiculous amount of crap but we had a good time. Then today my lovely aunt had BOTH girls and I went to a cafe ON MY OWN and DRANK COFFEE and READ THE PAPER it was bloody heaven.

VV Envy at about all of you, Sabine feeds at 7, 10, 1, 5 and then 7.30 during the night. She must be doing some proper growing now. WHY she lost weight before and is now doing her mammoth growing spurt I don't know. Fortunately I get up, doze through the feeds, stick her back in her cot and we're both asleep again after 20 mins but I still miss the days when she slept for 10 hours

Off to tidy my ramshackle pig sty of a house xxxx

suzym1984 · 02/06/2011 13:35

emski I have also been considering giving H baby rice to help him sleep thru the night, so please dont feel guilty! How is Noah sleeping now? any better? H is still very attached to his 3.30 feed Angry

delia I think it is quite normal to feel that way (i hope so anyway!) and I too find myself wishing the time away. "it will be so much easier when H sleeps thru" or "I cant wait for him to be on solids to cut down bf/expressing" I also feel guilty as everyone tells you to 'cherish' these times, and I am wishing my time away! I am also kind of looking forward to back to work, and dreading it at the same time if that makes sense? I cant wait to actually have some conversation about me for when DH gets in from work.

reastie dont blame you for not going to baby group, theres always next week Grin

The weather is lovely over here, does anyone take their LOs into the garden with them? I am dying to sit outside with H, but not sure where he could sit/ on what and Id be worried about him getting too hot.

Is 16 weeks too young for a paddling pool or pop up tent thing?

wigglesrock · 02/06/2011 14:17

suzy I bring Anna out in her pram or put her down on a rug/towel in the shade.

debka you read a paper - deffo not talking to you now, I long for the hairdressers, only chance I get to read OK and Hello the Guardian. Am going this afternoon but have to bring Liv with me [pah] Actually if Mr W doesn't get home from work early all 3 of the girls will be coming with me - Oh I'm going to be popular Grin.

reastie hope you start to feel better x

MizK · 02/06/2011 14:22

Hi ladies, what a gorgeous day! Thanks to everyone who was so nice when I posted about my sis,she is lots better now thank goodness, in fact she is still going to China on tuesday so I expect a nice present for being a good nurse!
suzy Cassia and I are in the garden this very minute I just put her on her mat in the shade with a few toys and strip her off! As long as they arent in the sun I think its fine?
reastie sorry to hear you dont feel well, hope ear gets better soon....
debka how nice that you got child free time! Nothing like it sometimes!
We are in half term hell right now - well its actually been nice but the constant bickering is doing my head in today, had a day of chilling at home cause Cassia's sleep has gone out of the window completely - sleep regression methinks.
ledkr and other shredders - I am on day 11 today so did level 2 - oh my god. was sweating and groaning like a bad porno by the end! How on earth can I do 9 more days of this then progress to level 3? Hows everyone else finding it?

chocoroo · 02/06/2011 15:30

MizK You're a better woman than me. I've only got to 3 days of the Shred...and they haven't been in a row! Going to have a go this afternoon though...honest...

Suzy I do the same as the others and just keep R in the shade. It's harder when she's awake though as our whole garden is in the sun (lucky) so I can't keep her in the pram. I might put the gazebo up and she can lie under there..

Oops...R is screaming...

Emski76 · 02/06/2011 15:30

Ladies, I just can't keep up with your talking!
Suzy, Noah slept well last night, not sure if it was the rice, hungry milk or that he was just tired! We also have a air purifier which I put lavender in so hopefully that's all helping him sleep. Will not be giving him rice again for a few weeks after he's been so sick on it!
Mizk, I haven't shredded since the first time I did it. Can't bring myself to do it again!

wigglesrock · 02/06/2011 16:22

emski76 I know 2 women who swear by the lavendar diffuser, I've shredded 4 times, last time I did it with the girls watching, Sofia asked me several times "why I was so red/sweaty?" etc Blush Ah the searing honesty of a 5 year old Grin, put me right off!!

MizK Glad your sister made a quick recovery, I'd be demanding some v expensive perfume Wink

Right Mr W made it home early after a hard day at the coal face Hmm, sitting at court, drinking coffee, waiting on being called, had enough time to go out for lunch and nip to M&S - so am heading to hairdressers with a very reluctant Liv!!

ledkr · 02/06/2011 19:58

Gosh i will need ages to catch up but just quickly before i go to get dh from work. My boys are Ryan Kyle and Derri all quite Irish i think.
I am still doing l one shred so am in awe of people on l2.I cant remember was it suzy? If so on the shred thread they say l2 is harder than l3 or it could be that you are well fit by the time you do l3.
Wiggs i am going to visit my mate in Castletownbere in west cork, one pub one night club which is full of skanky fishermen so slim pickings on the men front Grin
Will everyone stop being so hard on themselves-they are bloody hard work at this stage but by the end of the summer we will all have sturdy sleeping full up with mush little people and it all feels better and easier. As for tummy time and weaning etc,my 4 never had tummy time forced on them as it wasnt an issue they roll soon anyway, one is a ballet dancer the other in the army and the other teaches kick boxing and Ella is good at everything she does they all did well at school too and didnt fancy uni. So there Smile
D hates tummy time with a passion after 5 mins so i put her back.As for weaning babies used to be weaned at 3-4 months and it did no harm, the 6 month thing is the current guideline,do what you think is best for your baby,i have tried d twice with baby rice and she isnt quite ready so ill try again soon.
We have been to the open air pool so D has missed her bedtime and is just off for a late bath so i wonder what Mis anal will make of that, she will probably wake up 32 times tonight Grin

ILovePonyo · 02/06/2011 20:26

Open air pool ledkr?! Am very jealous. Really like your boys names btw, but I'm confused, what does the L stand for? Grin at Dilly being anal about her bedtimes etc, she really sounds like she knows her own mind already :)

wiggles thanks for the bottle tip, didn't realise A did it too, tonight dd fussed so I got up and jigged her a bit then managed to get the bottle back in and she nearly finished it. I owe you a big Wine Grin

delia and reastie I can't believe you type posts and then delete them, no one on this thread is dull or boring and we all want to hear what you have to say! Know what you mean about baby groups though, I havn't braved one yet and am sort of dreading it...

Hi deb, was a bit Shock at your waking hours in the night, heres hoping that ends soon?! Makes me very appreciative of dd's sleep and remember not to moan when I'm awake at 5.

suzy I might get a cheapo paddling pool this week for the garden and I'll let you know how I get on :)

mizK can't believe you are on level 2 shred, I have decided to give up on the shred this week as don't like doing it with dp at home, think I'll start properly on monday (famous last words) I'll be seeing you on Thursday Grin

Had dps friend over today who is a photographer and he took some pics of dd on his posh camera, will put some up when I get them, she was very cute but spent most of the time with her hand shoved in her mouth dribbling :) Think we must have worn her out, when I put her down on her side for a nap she went straight to sleep, not a noise at all Confused

ledkr · 02/06/2011 20:43

Ponyo the El is for ledkr of course Grin No its Louise which is my name. Poor d is looking Confused at the lateness of the hour of bedtime, she has been outside all day,im not staying in just cos of a mere baby even if she is ginger or jenjay as i like to call her. She lies in pram with hood up or in a patch of shade,i take an umbrella out if no shade and lie it on her side,me and Ella are looking pink tho. Me and my mate sat there all hot in our clothes cos we consider ourselves too fat to get in our cossys,we have decided to join ww next Thursday to tackle it. I didnt eat bfast today which i normally do,i didnt feel hungry all day and hardly ate at all,i think ill do the no breakfast diet. Out for bevs with my mate tomorrow, love it,sitting outside with a pimms and fag Smile

ILovePonyo · 02/06/2011 20:50

Ohhhh! Louise, of course :) You've just reminded me, think dd has a tan line on her legs, they are little bit browner than her tummy - oops I'm sure I've not put her in the sun?!

Enjoy yourself tomo, sunshine and pimms sounds fab, and if the fags are menthol they slound good too!

I've just remembered I've got a merangue/cream/fruit thing in the fridge, oh well I'm starting the shred on mon and had healthy tea Grin

NeedToSleepZZZ · 02/06/2011 21:02

reastie I had the mirena one and it was fine, uncomfortable for a minute tops then fine. Some bleeding and light cramps now but so far it's okay. Would recommend it as they say it can make your periods shorter, lighter and even stop!
ledkr another Louise here. Love the Irish theme of your boys and dilly is such a sweet nn.

wigglesrock · 02/06/2011 21:07

ledkr laughing at Ds cats bum face - what time do you call this Mother? Grin

Ponyo No problem, one of my other two did the same thing, how shameful that I can't remember which one Blush. Distraction is my number one motherhood tool Grin - going to have a major meltdown in Tescos - here have some fruit shoot , giving off because you can't get your own way - here look at the tv, don't fancy that veg for your dinner - look at the funny face Mummy will pull if you eat it etc. Not sure it will work past the age of 7 though Hmm

Liv was great at hairdressers although it was really warm, she was less fidgety than me but in my defence no-one offered to take me to the shop afterwards Grin Anna has turned into the amazing drooling baby, had to change her top today and her new one was covered in drool in about 20 mins!!

chocoroo · 02/06/2011 21:13

ledkr Like the boys names, a grand collection of names you have there.

ponyo I'm thinking of getting some proper pics done of R over the summer. Think I'll wait til she can sit up on her own though. My theory is the prints will make good gifts for family at Christmas.

I'm doing weight watchers already. Lost 8lb so far but none this week as I ate 8 meals (full on, proper meals!) in 2 days at the weekend. Been good so far this week though have hen do on Saturday which will mean lots of Wine and I may have snuck in a Mr Whippy while walking round the park earlier. But that was while exercising.

I need some fashion advice ladies.... Have ordered this Dress and need to figure out what to wear with it on Sat night to ensure I don't freeze. Any ideas?

wigglesrock · 02/06/2011 21:32

chocoroo gorgeous dress, if I could fit into it, I'd just wear it - cold be damned Grin You could wear some corked wedges or very flat gladiator type sandals, maybe a long fine knit brown cardigan, or you could go the Miranda Kerr route and wear a blazer with it. Mind you its a hen night isn't it? Might it be accessorized with some hen night paraphenalia (sp)? Grin

reastie how are you feeling?, how's the ear?

chocoroo · 02/06/2011 21:39

wiggles You see, I have found a way of fitting into it and making myself feel thinner than I am - I have bought a size too big :o Good ideas re the flat sandals, have some gladiators and yes, I'm supposed to wear only black and pink although I much prefer your tasteful idea...

I'm about to try and upload some photos again. Didn't work on the Mac so will try PC.

chocoroo · 02/06/2011 22:32

Photos are up. I feel like one of the gang Grin

byronicheroine · 03/06/2011 07:31

Wow, I miss a day and look what happens - page 19!
Ok, so yesterday was a bit of a write-off, as the car got broken into AGAIN on wed night, nothing was taken but there was glass inside. Luckily we had taken the car seat on the buggy but it still felt a bit weird. So yesterday was taken up with taking the car, plus baby, back to the garage and waiting ages while they put a new one in. Boo.
Anyway, re. my nickname, I see I will have to elucidate.... Grin so, in South Korea where I met my greek-irish partner (keeping up?), when we first got together there was this other guy texting me creepy romantic texts like 'she walks in beauty like the night' which is a poem by Lord Byron, famous womaniser and romantic. So DP "saved" me from this other creepy guy, and he is fairly tall and balding dark, so he became my Byronic hero. It gained a whole new level when I came to Greece and realised that the friggin' love the guy here - there's an area of Athens named after him, lots of streets with his name and there's even his graffiti carving on a temple. Byron loved greece and even fought for them. So there - long involved explanation done. You still awake at the back, there?!
choco I can't see your photos - am i not in your gang? :(
I am off to Lidl today, and I, too, used to be exciting and travel. See above for travel stories!

reastie · 03/06/2011 07:54

choc I can't see them either - have you made your profile public?

byron thanks for explaination re your nn and shredled love your ds names (and of course I was completely wrong in my guesses - but, in my defence they are unusual names I prob wouldn't have thought of)

well, you can stop all that Envy as the incredible sleeping 11 hours a night in one go baby is no more - back to the usual 3 am feed last night Hmm Confused

choc love the dress but have no ideas to keep you warm, believe me, you don't want to take fashion ideas from me Hmm

ear still hurts thanks wiggles . was up half the night with it and so feeling really rough today. wish it would hurry up and go away.

needto glad the coil was OK. I'm defo getting the copper one if I have one - no more hormones for me, EVER! I swore when I had a nightmare with daily miranes for months after coming off of the pill I would never inflict my body to such things again as my body hates them. Thing is, the copper one is bigger than the mirena one so will be harder to get in and they had to abandom the last attempt as they couldn't fit the mirena in (before I gave up on hormones). They tell me that post baby it will be easier as your bits have stretched but I had a csec so they never dilated at all Confused so could be in for another very painful abandoned attempt.

led enjoy pimms and ciggie later

wiggles glad the hairdresser went well. Made me remember my sister was scared stiff of hairdressers when she was little - my mum had to cut her hair for ages and then when she would finally go to the hairdresser she had to have a lady hairdresser as she would scream if a man tried to cut her hair Hmm

chocoroo · 03/06/2011 08:15

Oh balls, should be public now...I hadn't linked my old profile

reastie hope your snuggled up with a hot water bottle on your ear. Although it's already 20 degrees here so maybe not ideal....

Byronic My exciting day involves waiting in for a parcel. Which means I can't even go in the garden. I expect it arrive at approximately 9pm.

reastie · 03/06/2011 08:33

choc just make sure you don't go to the loo all day. I remember well missing a parcel I waited in all day for when I was pg as I was on the loo and they knocked and ran too quick Blush . Oh and may I say love the piccies esp the family one and you have such cute outfits for R Grin

ledkr · 03/06/2011 08:54

MORNING GIRLS. Well D was still up with the lark even tho she had alate bedtime,i tried to force her back to sleep but she was having none of it and was shrieking and squealing! Had to bring her down where i plonked her on a blanket naked so i could drink tea and she rolled over! She looks all chuffed its so funny.
Well the pils are here today and the games have commenced already. They texted him last night at 11pm wtf?Have they forgotten we have young kids?
Id have loved to see what it said but it will all be about plotting for the visit without me being allowed to have an opinion. Am i right to find that a bit off?
Off to the pool again today cant wait.
I hope everyones wobbles have passed now.I personally dont care too much for the newborn stage,i love having them tiny and looking all cute and buying little ooutfits but it stops there im afraid,i am sad about that but after 5 i can see thats just how it is.
wiggles i take it you arent anywhere near where i am visiting in Ireland so no chance of a wiggles/ledkr bender Grin
Oh Well d asleep so time for a little light shredding Hmm not really looking forward to it tbh.

Emski76 · 03/06/2011 09:04

Wow its boiling hot here already! I'm not going to moncos anythi g is better than the awful wind we had last week (I dint mean farts, by the way).
Love the photos Choc, lovely looking family.
Reastie, I can remember when you missed your parcel cos you were on the loo!
I have sil, and two cousins and baby here today. Can't wait. I'm off to the shops soon for picnic goodies that we can eat in the garden.
Noah has done really well the last two nights, he went from 10.30 til 6.30 on Weds night and from 7.30 til 5 last night, then went back to sleep until 7.30! Shame Ben cane into us at 6am with 6 pairs of pants in case he had a wee accident. I promptly put him in front of the tv and went back to bed until 7.30. Felt slightly guilty but not enough to get out of bed!
Ledkr, love your boys names, and very envious of your outdoor pool day yesterday, and even more envious of pimms and fags o clock!
Have a good day all

NeedToSleepZZZ · 03/06/2011 09:20

What I've learnt this morning:
NEVER change a baby boy next to your pile of freshly washed and ironed clothes, damn golden arc! Today I will be mostly washing...

chocoroo · 03/06/2011 09:22

Thank you for the nice comments about pics. Makes me dead proud of my little family. :)

Believe it or not the parcel has arrived....and I was in the shower. But the unbelievably fab delivery man squashed it through the letter box. It's my dress for tomorrow night so would have been a DISASTOR if it hadn't got through. Not quite sure what to do with the rest of the day now though! reastie I'll lend you my kind postie if you like...

V jealous of the pool plan led although I have forgotten to Shred again. DP is out tonight so I might do it after R is in bed....

Emski Yay for the sleeping baby. It makes such a massive difference. R had her first normal nights sleep since her cold last night, she woke me wiggling at 5am but went back to sleep no problem. Bliss!
