jane i Shock yet again to fil. and the comment about ruining his holiday - RUINING HIS HOLIDAY fgs!!! the sands thing sounds lovely though.

granny erm, no tips - I'm a first timer who knows not what they're doing .....hoping last night wasn't just a fluke

ledkr I think the weather forecast is pretty good for the rest of the week in general - I'm not sure if your annoyed as it would be quite funny for them to be drenched in rain while camping or pleased as they can stay in their tents with no excuse Hmm . Is it just PIL coming or the whole gang?

ILovePonyo · 31/05/2011 10:22

Morning and big congrats baby reastie, what a little star! Really pleased for you.

wandering I like the look of that light thingy, very cute. Poor you having to send shred back Wink

jane a big Hmm to your fil, glad you can rise above his ridiculous comments, good for you. The balloon event sounds really nice.

grannyapple just looked at your pics and may have said this before but the one of you dressed up is fab, so glam!

So last nights swaddling with arm free didn't work very well I think. Is it still 'sleeping through the night' if they don't need a feed but wake and make a shit load of noise every couple of hours?! Confused

WanderingSheep · 31/05/2011 10:34

Ponyo how does she sleep without swaddling, have you tried yet?

We can still hear L grunting and groaning even though she's moved to the other end of the landing! Luckily DD1 would stay asleep if a hurricane tore through the house and doesn't seem to be woken by her. DD1 only got up at 8.45 this morning!

ILovePonyo · 31/05/2011 11:09

We tried once before and it was the same as last night, lots more noise/crying/general grunting than with swaddle. I'm guessing she just isn't ready to be unswaddled yet. Might do a thread in sleep about it later.

Grin at L still making a racket from the other side of the landing, think dd will be the same!

ledkr · 31/05/2011 11:39

ponyo-Delilah was the worst noisy sleeper ever until i stopped using the sleepin bag and started using on of those fleece sleep suits,i think she was cold before.her little arms were always freezing. She still has the odd fidget before a huge fart but on the whole is alot better. She has been very quiet last few days i think she may have Els cold.
wandering when my ds1 was ateen he slept thru and earth tremor and anything wlse that may be going on and then when we had some building work done they had to knock thru his wall. The builder was my bil and he just sledged a hole in the wall and peered thru said "heres Johnny" and ds was still asleep Grin
Mine have always slept late, largely cos i do too. Is anyone else feeling really tired?I feel as if the last few months have really caught up with me and i am shattered.Going to shred in a bit then dd wants to go into town to spend her pocket money, cant realy be arsed tho.
reastie good for Alice,do you think thats it now? No i was checking weather so there is no excuse for not camping. Tbh if they are here too much i will clear off out cos its not as if they have said they are staying here so i may have my own plans. Tbh i like them less and less as time goes by especially with their total lack of involvment with any of us apart from dh,do they not realise that will impact upon their relationship with D? I am going to say something like omg i thought you had forgotten us? and smile sweetly, they somehow manage to conduct all their conntact with dh when im not about,i think i am going to tell dh this needs to stop now. What do you think?

Emski76 · 31/05/2011 12:30

Thank for nice comments about my pics! I think my boys are going to grow up to be heartbreakers too!
Jane, your FIL sounds like such a complete ass. I would have had to comment back and just tell him exactly how insensitive he's being.
Reastie, well done to Alice for sleeping through last night. I hope she continues to sleep well for you.
Ledkr, i feel constantly exhausted too. I told dh yesterday that it's almost a year since I got a good nights sleep, ad it was pretty much from day one that I got morning sickness all night long! Feel like I'm living in a daze! Going to try to convince Noah to nap with me in a bit. Am desperate for some shut eye!

janedoe25 · 31/05/2011 14:07

Hope you get your nap emski had a look at your pics, the boys will be a pair of heart breakers, gorgeous!

Fil is divorced, he left mil ( lucky escape form her!). I love MIL she is such a lovely woman.I haven't told DF about his dad and what he said about his holiday, he has enough to deal with. He said it "jokingly" but their is nothing funny about my baby dieing, he is a class 1 twat!

It looks like the ttc has commenced!( well not trying, not preventing) wish us luck ladies! I am so excited, i can't wait to give Zoe bear a wee bro or sis! Grin

Hope you get some advice on C's swaddling ponyo

40Weeks · 31/05/2011 15:12

Hello everyone

I have returned from a lovely break at Centre Parcs and a slightly less love visit to my dads in north wales, less lovely as ds1&2 were total shits with their behaviour. They are normally good boys but they would not cooperate with ANYTHING we asked them to do. Ds2 is becoming more and more of a handful and am at my wits end as me and dh are frazzled. I told him to move out this morning after he said he might cut his annual leave short and go back to work tomorrow as he couldn't handle it any more. WTF? Thanks you fucker, just walk off when it gets tough and leave me to handle it alone.

Sorry am in a foul mood as you may have guessed! He is shopping with ds1 while ds2 naps so this was my only chance to post!

Just can't believe that after a nice break it's back to the same old same old and if poss am feeling worse than before!

Did Shred this morning for first time! Am back on slimming world too as have a wedding in 2 weeks and need a miracle!

Sorry to read about your FIL Jane what a total knob, how heartless. Great to hear you are ttc! Well, not trying not to Wink

deb are things any better with dh afterthe heart to heart? I hope so.

reastie it is customary for me to ignore anyone who has a sleep thru the nighter, don't be offended Envy

Have had a little peek at your pics emski love the one of you and Noah nose to nose.

Sorry if I have forgotten anyone, I have had pages to catch up on!

Have to confess M also has a Sophie le giraffe...it was a gift from my bezzie

So do we call you shredkr now then Bosscat?

40Weeks · 31/05/2011 15:14

Apologies for gross overuse of exclamation marks...

Tarlia · 31/05/2011 17:09

Hey!

40 so sorry you are feeling shitty :(. That's the sort of thing my OH would say, men!

Yay, for Alice! I'm jealous, restie. She needs to have a chat with Z.

Jane I cannot believe you FIL said that, was an a*hole. Grr, some people really need to think! I don't meant to scare you, or be insensitive, but if you conceived around beg June, you'd have an end of Feb due date and I know you wanted to avoid Zoes birthday.

emski I agree your boys are gorgeous.

ponyo dont know if this tip might help you, but when we moved Z to a sleepbag, we still had to swaddle him to start with: We used muslins, and gradually loosened them, it took a week.

janedoe25 · 31/05/2011 17:24

tarlia i know, but i will be induced or have a elcs at 37 weeks next time.

40weeks sorry you are feeling crap, hope you are better soon.

Tarlia · 31/05/2011 17:35

In that case you'd hit Zachary's birthday :). Sorry, I just know my EDD was end Feb. Any news on the dresses?

ledkr · 31/05/2011 17:59

wow 40weeks you are fuming arent you? I had 3 boys and can sympathise. I found mine great fun but such hard work,it seems weird now that i will have 2 girls to contend with Hmm Ella often plays up when we are at pils-of all places-i was trying to get her to come in from the garden afew yrs ago and she shouted "I hate you" i could have slapped sil's silly orange face as she rolled her eyes upwards. Cheek of dh saying he will go back to work eh? Mine likes to do important jobs like painting the treehouse or cutting the hedge or weeding the lawn, just when things are getting tough in here grrrr. Get them tired kids to bed and open some vino. I have been counting ww points today,i will conveniently forget the pretzle that Ella and i shared in town. Fish and veg tonight and a ridiculously tiny portion of mash.
Good luck 0n the ttc jane, cant believe its come around so soon. I will send you some of my abnormally high libido in the post,i have no idea where its come from but dh is starting to look scared,he text me today to say he is a shadow of his former self.Grin

ILovePonyo · 31/05/2011 18:09

Right, very important news, dd did her first baby chuckle today! Grin Quite possibly the cutest noise ever. Even better, my sis was playing with her when it happened so think she is now a proud Auntie :) We all sort of stopped, looked at each other like this Shock and spent a while trying to get her to do it again, which of course she didn't. Loved it though, amazing how these little milestones can brighten your day.

Thanks for sleeping tips, might look into those fleecy sleepsuit thingys ledkr, where did you get yours from? I remeber you saying how grunty D was before, hope she doesn't get poorly.

tarlia did you swaddle with muslin on top of sleeping bag? Anything is worth a go! Everyone seems to have stopped swaddling except me (?) but I suppose dd still needs it for now.

jane glad you are feeling ready to try to ttc or not try not to or whatever it is Grin

40 how old are your 2 boys? Sorry if you've said elsewhere. Hmm at your dh, it really does seem some of the men on here can be insensitive sometimes to say the least.

oh ledkr meant to say re PIL I was thinking of saying something similar, we havn't seen them since dd was 2 weeks old, but they'll probably act like they're doing us a massive favour visiting anyway. And no doubt compare dd to their grandson a few months older and tell us how easy we have it Hmm

reastie · 31/05/2011 18:15

jane I'll be waving those pom poms for you ttc anytime you want Wink Grin Grin

all these nice congrats alice messages re: sleeping through the night makes me feel the pressure that she needs to do it again now Shock Wink

hope wiggles is feeling OK - she's been quiet today (maybe she's watching HSM in bed to feel better Wink )

40 glad you had a nice time in centre parcs but Angry at DH. Maybe you should go out or sth and leave him on childcare so he realises what he's making you do by going back early (really don't think these DH realise quite how tough it can be).

ledkr I recall your abnormally high libido when you were pg Hmm Grin

Well, physio has forbidden me to shred until I get my core stability (?) strengthened so I have a great excuse Grin

I am lol Grin listening to baby monitor with Dh and alice - DH is currently singing 'tragedy' to her - wonder if he'd doing the dance moves too Hmm Grin

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 31/05/2011 18:18

how cute ponyo, i love little baby laughs!

ledkr possibly tmi but i have disovered my libido again after 8 months of no sex DF is like a kid in a sweet shop! Although he is working an dataying down in Kendal today. Cant wait till tomorrow Grin

reastie · 31/05/2011 18:19

ponyo massive Grin to you for the chuckle. Alice chuckled to my physio today for no reason Hmm - she's only ever chuckled when I've worked really hard by bouncing her etc - was very Envy this physio got a chuckle just by looking at her.

Btw - my diet tip of the day (hmm, taking diet tips from a size 18/20 person, something wrong here Grin ) is to have a low kcal hot choc when you feel the choc urge. I used to do that when I lost loads of weight before and have started it again now. I used to have a big mouthful of choc after every meal as was so in need of the chocolate (addicted, moi?!) but have a low cal hot choc now to give me the taste (sort of) but only lik e40 kcals. I know it's not as good as only eating salad but it really helps my choc fix and i know some of you are choc obsessed too

40Weeks · 31/05/2011 18:47

Gosh yes I was fuming wasn't I? Have calmed down a bit now since he did the food shopping, has sorted out the washing and cooked us a roast ( although mainly motivated by the fact he invited his ma n pa over for dinner so had to - but still!) thanks all for your comments. My boys are 4, almost 3 and Mikey of course is 13 weeks, ponyo - how cute about the chuckle, what a little star.

So more BGT tonight, I hope those 'singers' from Oxford uni who look really geeky by then did Lady Gaga get through, I loved them!

Well my libido could well be In Gloucester then shredkr as it certainly ain't local....If you see it could return to sender??

Am loving how my iPhone auto corrects/defaults to all your nicknames now. It's 'learnt' them Grin

40Weeks · 31/05/2011 18:50

Thanks reastie for the mint chop tip (boom boom) as I too am a fellow chocoholic with a desperate need to drop a dress size. Hope your core stability gets back on tack soon, I know you must be gutted about the shred Grin

byronicheroine · 31/05/2011 19:22

Well, we are surviving without DP just fine... hmmm, maybe he isn't as helpful as he thinks he is!
Ponyo good luck with the half swaddle, we just moved K into a grobag and weren't as thoughtful as tarlia obviously. He sleeps well but still wakes for feeds etc. so can't be more helpful - sorry!
ledkr send some of that libido my way for DP - he is 'tired' all the time. Boo!
jane not sure how to put this delicately but... have fun not using contraception Hmm !! You go girl.
reastie meant to say ages ago - i like the link you put up about Let's Play for babies, but you have given me a case of middle class guilt - I feel I have to be jigging about with shadow puppets every 2 minutes.... nah, the swinging chair will have to do - look, pretty lights!
Talking of ignoring IL phone calls.... there goes one now. Yep, not answering!

byronicheroine · 31/05/2011 19:25

40 glad you have calmed down, but I'm amazed how you cope at all with 3 of the little blighters
We don't get british tv here, so i'll just have to settle down with Glee as LO has sucked his thumb and drifted off happily (famous last words)

Emski76 · 31/05/2011 19:59

40 sorry your time away was stressful, men really are useless sometimes. I tell dh he's not useless but he's not exactly useful!
Ponyo, pleased about the giggle! How lovely!
Jane, Good luck with ttc. Will be hoping for you both.

wigglesrock · 31/05/2011 20:10

reastie Yay for Alice sleeping, fingers crossed for tonight, wish I had spent all day watching HSM but feel awful, sore chest etc but had dental appt this am. All ok (I don't have a great history with my teeth, shit loads of antibiotics when I was very small didn't help) How come if I was paying I'd have to have loads of work done Hmm Grin

ledkr have visions of you doing Hi de Hi like announcements to in-laws this weekend Grin

40Weeks Glad you feel a little better although your dh still a bit twattish earlier Grin, tough ages re the older boys, Sofia is almost 6 and sometimes I could swing for her, Olivia will be 4 in October and some days I just turn to Mr W or the dog and ask "is it just me or are they the most annoying children ever?" I usually get a yes or at least a woof!!

Ponyo congrats on the chuckles, no stopping her now.

Jane Fil = wanker , the balloon release sounds lovely and very hopeful if that's the right word. I have no polite euphemisms - enjoy all the sex Grin

debka · 31/05/2011 20:15

40 I thought I had it hard work with a 2 yr old and S, but add a 4yo to the mix too- no wonder you were tired and pissed off. I can't imagine enjoying a holiday for a long time!

It's nice having DH back, he's been attentive (for him), and nice to the girls. We had a bit more of a talk, about him and his family, he admitted he was being awful, so fingers crossed we'll see some changes.

Watching BGT again, they are all awful but none more so than that sad sad Britney Spears impersonator.

jane woo hoo! Enjoy! Grin

reastie · 31/05/2011 21:32

evenin' all

byron glad to be of service with the baby play site. I will admit to trying to 'play' puppets with alice but she didn't even look the slightest bit interested so I gave up Hmm . Tbh I know it's good to do things with them to stimulate them etc but I really think they need to get used/learn to be in their own company quietly too - I have so many friends who dash about with their babies to every class/coffee meetings etc and the babies never get any quiet time on their own and they get used to it and need to have things going on all the time Hmm

deb BGT talent tonight was a bit rubbish wasn't it? I'm sure they're worse than last year Hmm - what was that britney all about? So glad DH is admiting he's been useless -it's a step forwards

wiggles hope you feel better soon

I just threw a wobbly with DH - I'm having such bad self esteem issues and he never does anything other than enforce that I'm right in how terrible I am as a person - I told him I was really depressed with how I look now and I didn't want any action with him tonight as I felt I looked so terrible I wasn't worth it. He just went quiet and then told me I should eat meat again (the incinuation (sp) being I have a v restricted veggie diet and most of my protein is from fatty sources so maybe I should shift some lard by eating better). I know it's nothing in the scheme of things and compared to others here but I'm so down about it. Sorry for self indulgent bit there.
