jane great that you two are doing better, took me 5 mins to decode dtd but big step, congrats Grin

Still feeling shite but needs must - off to the park, first morning it hasn't been blowing a gale so off to make the most of it!! Think my fever may have lifted Michale Bubbles not looking so appealing in the cold light of day Grin.

WanderingSheep · 30/05/2011 10:25

Morning!

MizK hope your sister is ok.

Wiggles Michael Bubble isn't that bad. He seems a bit of a prick and I don't care so much for his music but he's okish looks wise, I guess.

ledkr · 30/05/2011 10:43

Allright! Happy bank holiday Grin its pissing down here and El has a cold we are off to see ds2's new flat then Mums for lunch,dh is working a late so i will shred then bed later.
jane glad you have it sorted X
reastie Ds3 got stung by a wasp when he was a few weeks old,it got stuck between his nappy and tummy,i was so fuming i stamped the wasp into oblivion Grin
ponyo and byron looking forward to your pil stories,my are "camping nearby" at the weekend which im sure will involve spending most mealtimes at my house but i think they will be sorely disappointed cos Dilly goes in the bath at 6.30 then straight to bed and so we dont eat untill 7 or later now. I really dont know what to expect as they have been awfully quiet for ages and seem to communicate with dh when im not around, does anyone else find this odd, never ring the house? oddbods.
Well girls am ditching the carbs today, not atkins just no potatoes, bread pasta or rice Shock not looking forward to it tbh. Have a nice day everyone.

americanexpat · 30/05/2011 12:03

L is absolutely fine, a little mark on his forehead but no bruise. Of course, I was up half the night just watching him. This parenting business is stressful!

jane - I'm glad you and DF were able to talk and work things out. Post on the bereavement board if you feel you need to and don't worry about someone else having it "worse" - I don't think there's any "better" or "worse" bereavement.

MizK - how is your sister getting on today? As everyone else said, one day off an established routine isn't the end of the world, she'll get right back into it.

debka - When is your DH returning home? I hope things start to improve for you after your talk.

wigglesrock · 30/05/2011 12:05

ledkr My pils tend to communicate with me when Mr W isn't around Hmm I'm the "daughter they never had" oh the pressure Grin

Right am officially sick, Olivia isn't much better and Anna is in funny form, could only be a bank holiday, got to the park but now am counting the minutes until Mr W gets up - he finished work at 7am and will be up and coherent and 1pm, so handover is taking place then. He's off until Thu so hopefully will be feeling a lot better soon.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Ps reastie meant to say scary about the bee - my dad got one caught behind his glasses once - not pleasant.

ILovePonyo · 30/05/2011 12:17

Morning, actually afternoon now.

ledkr the pil used to ring the house but if I saw it was their number I wouldn't answer the phone Grin Was you who said about possibly becoming a bit boring when on mat leave? I have to agree, was thinking about it earlier and thought about some of the boring things I say to dp now, no wonder he just half listens and 'hm's poor bloke.

reastie how scary about the bloody bee! Shock Hope you did a ledkr and stamped it to bits.

MizK hope your sis is better and you too.

Got to go dp has done stir fry for lunch :) back soon

ILovePonyo · 30/05/2011 13:25

Back again, american hope you're feeling better about L's bump, I think I would have been the same and stayed up most of the night worrying about nothing!

wiggles hope you feel better soon. I havn't been ill yet and am dreading it, as I have seen a few times on mn you don't get sick days as a mum!

needto yay for ben rolling over! dd has rolled onto her side a few times. Hope the house viewing goes well. I have been looking on rightmove at houses I want to move to but would hate moving house again, its so stressful.

Well its first day of half term and dp is officially doing my head in. Will expand on this later as think hes reading over my shoulder Hmm

reastie · 30/05/2011 13:47

ohh needto hope the flat viewing goes well - was it nice? When do you have to move by? Poor you moving again having just moved and painted etc your current place

american so glad everything OK. I always worry I'll drop/wack/accidently hit Alice - I've nearly managed it so many times Confused

jane glad you and DF had a chat and dtd (it too took me a min or so to work that one out Grin )

wiggles hope you feel better soon. Mr w should be awake now, hopefully not having to change anna in to an unusual outfit combo Hmm

Alice has recovered from the bee incident - think it freaked me out far more. She was screaming and we thought she'd been stung but think she was only screaming as we were trying to rip her clothes off so quickly while shouting Hmm

ponyo I'll admit to doing that re: PIL and phone too Wink

ohh, at the risk of ledkr smacking me for being a zombie mum - anyone got a bumbo here? I got one second hand a while ago and keep trying alice in it but think she's still too small. They say as soon as she can hold head up, which she can, but her arms look in the wrong position and she looks so uncomfy poor thing.

Right - bad mother here - alice has been sleeping on her play mat for about half an hour while I did the ocado order. Should really move her to her cot Hmm

oh, and wiggles buble? really? Confused

Hey everyone, doing fine now we're home and back into routine, although S has stopped being her angelic self at nap time. I can normally get her to go down ok in the morning, but in the afternoon I think she gets too worked up and overtired to settle herself. Put her in bed just now and she screamed and screamed, so I got her up and sang to her and rocked her, which I've not done before, but I could see her (in the mirror) getting sleepier and sleepier. I lay her down on our bed before she dropped off, she had a bit of a bellow but she's quiet now.

How are your babies' hand skills? S is just starting to grab things, but her co-ordination is really crap and it's more accident than design when she actually gets something.

expat I thumped S's head on the doorframe yesterday when she was playing peepo with Imogen Grin Blush. And when Imy was a baby in a sling I was out walking and slipped over in a load of brambles, I checked myself over and only had a few scratches, she seemed ok after a few wails so I carried on my walk and when I got home I looked in the mirror and she had about a dozen massive bloody scratches across her face! Poor little baby! Felt awful for ages, but she was fine. As jane says babies are pretty tough on the whole.

DH gets back very late tonight, after I'm in bed, so I'll see him properly tomorrow. I've missed him actually. We've spoken on the phone a couple of times and texted. I'm not sure how to play it when he's back TBH, whether to try to Talk again or not. I think I'll get my mum to babysit and we'll go out for a drink together.

wiggles sorry you're feeling crap, good job you can't catch anything over tinternet because that's my only social life

ledkr was talking to a friend today (see I do have a social life) about diets, apparently having carbs one day and protein the next really works- have several friends who've done this and lost weight. You eat fruit and veg all the time. Good luck with your Atkins-lite!

Why is it that I cannot write a short post? Anyone who ploughed their way through al this gets a Biscuit

debka · 30/05/2011 13:57

reastie remembered another one- Sabine fell off the pouffe (you know, squashy thing you put your feet on when watching tv and NOT handy place to leave baby whilst you make a cup of tea) the other day- heard a thump and a yell Blush but she was ok.

I fancy a bumbo for S, reckon she'd love it.

reastie · 30/05/2011 14:03

Shock to deb for pouffe incident. i'm always desserting putting alice on her sofa when i'm near her and keep getting worry she'll drop off hope think she's secure ish though.

does anyone else have babies who like standing up? alice loves to stand up on my lap and i support her under her arms, she's actually amazing at taking her body weight. i do lots of excited faces and noises at her and she looks so pleased with herself Grin

ILovePonyo · 30/05/2011 14:45

Thanks for the Biscuit deb Wink I think going out for a drink with your dh when he gets back sounds like a good idea, no distractions and if a Talk happens thats good, if not I wouldn't worry. dd's hand skills are ok, she is good at putting her hand in her mouth and sometimes grabs a toy and stuffs it in her mouth but I think its usually a fluke. She reaches for things but her coordination has a way to go!

reastie I was thinking I'd get a bumbo for dd too :) Can just imagine her toppling out of it at the moment so think I'll wait a bit... dd sometimes stands if I hold her but her legs give way quite easily!

dp has gone out so I can moan post about him. Once again I know I'm being a grumpy moo but he's also being annoying, making a general mess and doing my head in. I feel mean too because he seems oblivious (sp?) unless he's just got used to my mardiness Grin

I have 100 best family films on tv, getting very excited for watching loads of these with dd :)

hubbard86 · 30/05/2011 15:06

have only just felt human enough to try and keep up with the thread after getting in at 5am yesterday very very drunk (bad mummy emoticon) luckily dh was looking after the 2 dc's so i spent the day recovering. Freya still isn't interested in her toys. I keep trying and nothing i think she's quite happy chewing on her muslin. I had a second hand bumbo but can't use it because of freyas hips. You people chat too much for me too remember anyones posts as my brain is still not working properly

wigglesrock · 30/05/2011 15:22

Okay, know I'm very sick (I'm turning into Mr W I'm getting more ill with each post Grin ) but what the frig is a bumbo, am in danger of looking like a culchie again Grin

Hubbard Respect for the night out, many thanks, hope several of those drinks were for me.

Anna still loves her muslin cloths and Mr Bear but not much of a grabber although has realised that food comes from the bottle, keeps stopping and starting when feeding - funny for the first ten times Grin

reastie she loves standing up too. Ponyo don't tell anyone but when Sofia discovered High School Musical it was one of the most enjoyable moments of my life, you can keep your animation I need some awkward teenage romance preferably against a backdrop of soft rock, I blame seeing Grease at a young age Blush

ILovePonyo · 30/05/2011 15:25

Grin wiggles. I just cried watching the bit in dumbo with the sad song Blush

WanderingSheep · 30/05/2011 16:13

wiggles we have High School Musical on DVD.

DH bought it for me when I was pg with DD1

I think Zac Efron is gorgeous Blush

wigglesrock · 30/05/2011 16:21

wandering we bought High School Musical 3 for Sofias' birthday a few years ago - I unwrapped it and sat up to watch it, then rewrapped it and gave it to her the next day Blush Mr W has never let me live it down!!

WanderingSheep · 30/05/2011 17:39

HSM 3 is the best one, I've seen 'em all Blush DD1 isn't even interested in them as she's probably a bit young yet, ha ha!

Hope you feel better soon, btw wiggles.

Emski76 · 30/05/2011 17:57
