Hello ladies, hope you found your way over here okay!

Our little newborns are newborns no more! :( :)

Hopefully a while yet before teething and weaning starts, but there's definitely a lot of wiggling and squealing going on already :o

You gotta love them haven't you?!? (sometimes). DD has now decided she does like me again Smile. I swear she's 2 going on 13 some days. Shattered now went to a soft play area this afternoon, round to a friend's this morning where most of our time was spent refereeing the squabbling. Our little ladies love each other really but that's 2 year olds for you.

Fuzzywood · 10/06/2011 21:44

^all by myself
Don't wanna be all by myself^

Where've you all gone? Come back......

Fuzzywood · 10/06/2011 21:45

Hmmm why did my italics not work? See I'm talking to myself now.....

travispickles · 10/06/2011 21:48

Hi FUzzy!! Sorry - sooo tired! Been swimming with my lo yesterday - was fantastic. She really seemed to enjoy it. She also turned over yesterday (back to front) although she didn't repeat it today :)
God sorry - why is my conversation now only ever about Saskia?? Do I not have a life Wink

FlubbaBubba · 10/06/2011 22:06

I'm lurking. I sing that song frequently! :o

Off to bed now though - well past my bedtime! I'll be up in an hour anyway >>dribbles through the yawns

Fuzzywood · 10/06/2011 22:08

Evan loves swimming too. Yay for Saskia rolling, still only front to back here hence much frustration bless him.
Off to a no kids wedding tomorrow, is it wrong to be really looking forward to it Grin.

Fuzzywood · 10/06/2011 22:09

Off to bed here too, have a good night all

FlubbaBubba · 10/06/2011 22:09

Haven't taken L swimming yet - not sure how to keep three non-swimmers afloat while still practising handstands underwater on my own Hmm

Oooh - no kids wedding! Bliss!! :)

FlubbaBubba · 11/06/2011 09:04

Morning all - giggling away here and need to share. DH is taking the girls to a Dads Only playgroup this morning, but has to take DD1 to ballet first. L fed really well at 8 so I suggested he took him too (playgroup finishes at 11, and I figure he won't die of starvation if he doesn't see me again until then?!). So I said to DH "are you taking all three? Oh thank you!" (before he had a chance to say no! :o)

I then asked if he needed any help in getting them ready, but I'd set him the challenge of being able to get out of the house by a set time by himself.- I'd already changed and dressed L and DD1 was already dressed. Both girls had had breakfast.

It took him, no joke, 55 minutes to;

  • get DD2 dressed
  • pick up the (already packed) changing bag
  • get playgroup money out of my purse
  • get out of the door

I am lying in bed chuckling away to myself. There was a lot of harrumphing and strained voices from DH.

Is it wrong to have been lying here laughing while he was stressing about downstairs? :o Hmm :o

travispickles · 11/06/2011 17:07

No Bubba - laugh away! But I frequently worry about the fate of my lo if I were to cark it. Her DF could NO WAY manage it. It always annoys amuses me when he comes in from work 'dying for a cuppa'. When I know for a fact he has had at least 4 cups of coffee all day and I have not had 1.

Fuzzywood · 12/06/2011 11:51

Tee hee, like your work Bubba.
Ouch here, hangover with very sore feet. DH just taken DD to the school Fayre so I'm busy trying to persuade Evan that lying quietly on his mat is a good idea (its not working). Thankfully they were both really good for my DMIL so we may get to go out again some day Grin

FlubbaBubba · 12/06/2011 11:54

Okay Travis and Fuzzy - where do you think we went wrong? Fairly sure there were more than three of us in this thread originally Confused Blush :( and also :o

Fuzzywood · 12/06/2011 12:18

Dunno, was it something we said?! Everyone else must be interacting with their children or something, shock horror Grin

FlubbaBubba · 12/06/2011 12:49

Don't worry, they'll soon grow out of it! :o

My interaction so far has been screaming at them like a mad banshee to helping them to understand why they should get out of the kitchen while I make Sunday lunch Hmm Blush, although we did just have a Jolly Fun Game of Tidying Up. My life is GOOD! :o :o

FlubbaBubba · 12/06/2011 12:56

Woah, woah, woah! Just seen that you have a hangover and sore feet. Have you been OUT?!! Dancing and Drinking??!

I'm not jealous.

Nope.

Not me.

I LIKE staying in every fecking night because The Boy won't take a bottle and still feeds every few hours.

I do.

Really, I do.

travispickles · 12/06/2011 16:00

My solution has been to get her madge down at about 9pm and THEN go out. Leaving DH in charge of a sleeping child so he can't fuck it up go wrong. Wink

Fuzzywood · 12/06/2011 16:24

I was indeed drinking and falling about dancing. I have a nice stilleto heel hole on the top if my foot as well!
You need to have a serious conversation with L about his bottle dislike. The occasional drunken boogie is good for the spirits if not for the quality of parenting the day after Grin.

FlubbaBubba · 12/06/2011 16:36

Believe me I've had plenty of serious words with him. He told me he doesn't care!! Shock :(

Fuzzywood · 12/06/2011 17:31

That's no good. Been trying to think of something useful to suggest but I'm guessing you've tried everything I would think if. Friend of mine had the same issue with her DD I'll ask her how she solved it when I see her next. Maybe weaning will help, only a few more weeks until all that starts

FlubbaBubba · 12/06/2011 19:13

I know! Can't believe he's so old already!

re: bottle with His Lordship, I have tried everything. If I fool him with a dummy, then swap it for a bottle, he'll suck furiously for a bit, taking about 20mls, then shout at me for tricking him :o :o - but doesn't fall for that trick again, so no good for substituting a feed. I am resigned to the fact that it won't happen before weaning - although am desperately hoping that he'll be okay drinking water from a cup (or bottle?) or something once we get on to that. Both girls were fine with bottles as soon as they started having them, so am a bit stumped with him indoors.

Bought a humungous butternut squash today in preparation for weaning. Have gallons of frozen breastmilk ready to use too, so will be topping up whatever mush I make with that (otherwise I'd have gone quite quickly to BLW (less faff for me! Blush), but I'll be darned if my wonderful boob milk is going to go to waste! :o

It's pissed it down ALL DAY today so we have two very un-exercised DDs who are heading for meltdown - so promptly handed over to DH while I MN a bit more feed the boy :)

Fuzzywood · 12/06/2011 19:29

Chucked it down here too so I sent DD to Tesco with DH to amuse/ exercise her a bit. Seems to have done the trick as she's asleep. Evan slept from 11 to 5.30 for DMIL last night, best ever sleep. Desperately hoping it's the start of a pattern as I'm knackered. Lovely wedding yesterday but man partying all day is harder than it used to be Grin.
I'm off for a long soak in the bath and a very early night.

FlubbaBubba · 13/06/2011 07:06

I went to the supermarket with DD1 too - the fun our children have! :o

She had a bit of a bad night so have sent her back to bed. L was Really Naughty last night so I am pooped. Desperately hoping DD1 is okay so I can send her to pre-school this morning Blush Hmm so I can have a quiet day and catch up on some sleep when the boy sleeps. [bad, selfish mummy emoticon]

Fuzzywood · 13/06/2011 08:10

Hope DD is ok, I'm very relieved it's a nursery day for DD here as E was up loads in the night too. He didn't want milk but his damn dummy kept coming out (was considering gaffer tape at one point). The sooner heckearns to put it back in himself the better. Hoping he goes back to sleep soon so i can too. Not bad and selfish but entirely necessary sometimes Smile

FlubbaBubba · 14/06/2011 10:08

Never rains but it pours! DD1 is absolutely fine, but DD2 is now snuggled up on the sofa next to me having been up with a tummy bug all night. At some point last night I said "will all children please stop peeing, pooing and puking everywhere" :o - they didn't obey Hmm

Ooh the dummy replacing is blinking annoying, isn't it? I laughed out loud at your gaffer tape comment :o :o

Fuzzywood · 14/06/2011 12:44

Oh bless her. Glad my kids aren't the only ones who disobey their mother Grin. Evan up loads again last night, he just seems really hungry at the moment so might be a growth spurt I guess. He's happily snoozing in the pushchair at the moment, hope he stays there for a while as I'm knackered.
Started making purees for Ev yesterday to put in the freezer
Not sure about baby led weaning so may do a bit of that alongside purees. Will have a think about it in the next couple of weeks.
