Hello ladies, hope you found your way over here okay!

Our little newborns are newborns no more! :( :)

Hopefully a while yet before teething and weaning starts, but there's definitely a lot of wiggling and squealing going on already :o

Oh poor you jjkm - sorry, my "it never rains but it pours" comment pales into insignificance compared to what you've been through.

That's a good weight for a premie! How's Alexa getting on? L has only gained just over 4lbs from his birth weight which seems pathetic really. He's happy enough though, although still feeds ridiculously frequently.

That's amazing! She's only a bit less than L is now!

LadyBuzz · 15/06/2011 08:37

I'm still here (just) had a very odd couple of weeks here and loads of stuff going on, some good, some not so good.
Kali is doing great, rolling over as soon as you put her on her back then shouting becuase she doesn't want to be there, she csan roll the other way but much prefers shouting about it Grin
She had some photos done on Monday and they are gorgeous (I will attempt to scan and post it when i pick it up).
She is generally a happy little soul and still very tiny, I have no idea what she weighs [bad bad mummy] but she is just starting to fit into 3-6 month clothes - i'm used to bruisers!
bubba I lol at your DH post, I worked 1 day last week, no one was dressed and the house looked like a bomb site when i got home!

FlubbaBubba · 15/06/2011 12:37

Hope things are okay LadyB - we're good listeners if you need to offload.

L is still in 3-6 month clothes - for the fifth month of his life Confused! Still not rolling over, but I blame that on a)little time on his tummy/back and b)his little fat bottom + reusable nappies (which are huge) making it difficult to shift :o :o and c)being a boy Shock and enjoying his sisters bring him things like a little king :o

Sick as a dog here - poor DH has had to take the day off work to look after the girls as I couldn't move this morning for being pukey, wobbly and headachey - if the immaculate conception could strike twice, I'd say I was pregnant!

Kiddicare delivery of mattresses galore today - DH and I are doing the kids' rooms this weekend with everyone moving up a bedsize! :)

LadyBuzz · 15/06/2011 14:55

bubba how awful hope you feel better soon.

Its nothing really mostly other peoples bad times but they are people i care about very much my Dad is having tests for cancer (just precaution), BFs dad is terminally ill, other friends DH is being tested for breast cancer.
old school friend lost her mum last week and another friend has gone through the second anniversary of her 20 month old DS dying. all doom and blimming gloom.

On the upside DS1 doesn't need glasses, and the rash on Kalis face was impetigo NOT eczema woohoo (Ds1 is plagued with it). I also learned you can get impetigo from nowhere Confused
DH isn't working this weekend and i have no more appointments til the 26th June!!!

Right must go and scoop DS1 up from school and DS2 from grandmas where i left him when he refused to come home with me earlier Grin

FlubbaBubba · 15/06/2011 15:19

Oh God, poor you! Your poor friend too - must be so, so hard to lose a child (understatement of the century)

Love that your DS2 refused to leave grandma's - my two frequently ask Granny & Grandpa if they can stay when we're trying to leave! :o

LadyBuzz · 15/06/2011 15:50

bubba he even made it perfectly clear that I was to take Kali and only leave him Grin

My friend is truly amazing, she has been so so strong over the past 2 years, her DS had massive problems and it was a blessing that he went quietly and didn't suffer but still you just cannot comprehend what they went through!

Fuzzywood · 15/06/2011 19:19

Thinking of posting DD to her grandparents. She's just hit me with her umbrella and is refusing to go upstairs for her bath and bed. I've just put some tv on and aren't going to do anything until DH gets home as I could do without the argument .

LadyB sounds tough all that going on at once. Hope the tests cone out ok.

JJKM sounds like the girls are growing brilliantly. Haven't had Ev weighed for ages but he's damn heavy to carry around so I assume he's fine Grin.

FlubbaBubba · 15/06/2011 19:29

Ooh fuzzy that doesn't sound like a lot of fun. DDs currently soaking DH in the bathroom while L and I are watching The Hills in bed [not-just-bad-but-also-bad-taste-mummy-emoticon] Blush

Fuzzywood · 15/06/2011 19:35

She's such a Daddy's girl at the moment that she gets really worked up with me. Oh well sure it's just a phase. DH is stuck on the M25 I'm desperate for him to get home so sitting here on mm on the phone and ignoring her Blush. oh well tomorrow is another day Smile.

Dads should always do bathtime good work Bubba

travispickles · 16/06/2011 14:41

Sweet joy and rapture! Was just sat here with cuppa (nap time :) ) thinking 'bugger- no biccies', when eye fell upon box of celebrations brought around by friend whose baby I looked after earlier. And after 2 babies under 6 months I bloody deserve some choccie!!

naturalbaby · 16/06/2011 17:15

hiya, dipping back in again.

just read flubbabubba's post on the dad's group - sounds exactly like our house when dh takes the kids to dad's group! i go pick them up after and he emerges with 1 ds under 1 arm and another running madly, one of them in floods of tears and him looking totally harassed! haven't felt mean enough to pack him off with all 3 of them yet.
baby is 20weeks tomorrow and feeding every 2 1/2hrs so am wondering about weaning again but still hoping he can hang on a month for blw. might be tempted to get a bit of readibrek in at breakfast while i'm spoon feeding his lazy 3yr old brother. i'm sure you're meant to avoid cows milk though before 6months. bm always made the foods/rice/porridge go funny when i weaned ds1.

Fuzzywood · 16/06/2011 22:12

Ha ha bless the dads. When I went away for the weekend (all organised by DH I might add) I got a text when we were on our way back saying if I wasn't home by 7 the kids were going on eBay Grin.

Heading to bed now, feeling strangely sad and weepy tonight, hoping it's just the horrible cold I have. Sleep will help I'm sure. Night all Smile

FlubbaBubba · 17/06/2011 08:26

rofl @ MrFuzzy

Hiya again naturalbaby - be mean, it's so much more fun! :o

Chuck us a celebration travis - either a malteser, mars or snickers please. Ta muchly :)

Girls are going to Granny & Grandpa's tomorrow OVERNIGHT! :o :o Only so we can do their room secretly - each child is moving up a bed size and I am preparing the spare room for L to move into when he finally stops feeding through the night. Rather overexcited as DD1 is moving into a midi shorty bunk (thank you freecycle), DD2 moving into a toddler bed (currently in the cot with a side taken off Blush) and L out of the crib (that I slept in as a baby! sure it doesn't conform to any H&S rules!) and we're painting and moving furniture and sorting toy boxes out etc

cyberfairy · 17/06/2011 12:16

I'm glad other people's hair is coming out in chunks! I thought it was from over-dying it and I was going to become bald! Rowan and I are doing fine although he still struggles sleeping more than a few hours at a time at night and anywhere else but in my arms or pram in daytime. He has also discovered the sudden nipple twist.
Grandparenta re awesome aren't they? We left Ro with the ones in Scotland and went out for a proper meal, somewhat spoilt by the fact I gulped everything down in seconds and without using a knife, so used to I at eating quickly or with baby in arms...

gallicgirl · 17/06/2011 19:20

Hi everyone.

Found you again! I went on holiday and almost forgot about you!

Think I've caught up with all the goings-on.

For those babies struggling with cup/bottle, I gave DD a sippy cup to play with a few weeks ago. I put some dried pasta in it so it makes a nice noise and she happily chews on the spout. I'm hoping it gets her used to it for when we start weaning. I did try baby rice a couple of times, mostly to see how she'd take it. She can't take off a spoon so I had to put it into her mouth with a finger so definitely not ready for solids yet. I'm going to do BLW too cos I'm lazy like that. I know you have to carry on giving milk but I'm a bit unsure how much. Will speak to HV for some confusing contradictory advice.

FlubbaBubba · 17/06/2011 19:52

Welcome back gallic but Shock at " almost forgot about you " Shock [hurt and dejected emoticon] :o

Fuzzywood · 17/06/2011 20:19

Jeez we hang around here waiting for Travis and she forgets about us, just charming! Grin Grin
How was your holiday Travis?

We're starting to get the staring at you when eating thing with Evan so he's starting to show an interest. I'm at mum and dad's for a few days next week then in Cornwall the following week so will probably have a first attempt with some baby rice after that. He sure is a hungry boy so hoping milk will keep him satisfied until then.

I've just been trying to stop DD poking the very impressive bruise and lump in the middle of her forehead. Love it when you get to nursery to pick her up and her carer says one of the other children got a bit boisterous and DD got knocked into the doll's cot. DD pipes up it was Isabella she pushed me, cue Isabella's dad looking really embarrassed and me trying not to laugh Smile

Fuzzywood · 17/06/2011 20:23

Doh!!!

It's been a long week

FlubbaBubba · 17/06/2011 20:38

Hehehe - nice put down fuzzy, honestly not spoilt at all by your inability to get the right person Hmm :o

Have puréed a whole load of butternut squash and bought some baby rice. L is practically sitting up by himself and is also watching each bite with intent. Not planning on trying quite yet, but we're also going camping in 5 weeks (because of the lush weather we're having at the moment Confused!) so really don't want to be faffing with feeding him then. What to do?!

Naughty Isabella, and such a pretty name too! :o

Fuzzywood · 17/06/2011 20:50

Hmm I do think it lost some of its cutting edge. I'm such a spanner .

DD was friends with Isabella about 2 minutes afterwards. I'd hazard a guess that DD wasn't completely innocent Smile. I love 2 and 3 year olds though they're so funny, one minute they're beating the crap out of each other and the next they're best friends again.

I weaned DD quite early but she was a major guzzle guts and there was no way milk was keeping her satisfied and while Evan is a hungry boy he's got nothing on his sister so I figure he can wait a few weeks. Would after your camping take you past 26 weeks Bubba? If not I'd be tempted to wait. I have sweet potato and carrot in the freezer and a butternut squash awaiting the food processor. Will do some pear too then try to keep ahead of the game.

FlubbaBubba · 17/06/2011 20:58

:) @ your DD

I also bought pear to do, but DD2 my fruit bat of a daughter snaffled them before I even got them into the fruit bowl! I also have oodles and oodles of frozen EBM going to waste so will be doing loads of milky-based foods initially.

Camping won't take us beyond 26 weeks (just! - he'll be 25 weeks and two days when we go, and going for a long weekend). Don't have the camping equipment to keep things cold/fresh or warm things up easily, so it'd be such a faff. But also then going to be travelling north straight after, so maybe I'll just bite the bullet beforehand.

Fuzzywood · 17/06/2011 21:36

I remember being incredibly pissed off if any of my frozen BM went to waste with DD. I worked so flippin hard for it she was going to drink the damn stuff Grin.

I hid the pear from DD (and DH who should frankly know better). I'm pretty certain E won't last another 6 weeks so I'll start when back from Cornwall and see how we go. He seems so big now I worry he must be hungry

Right off to wash bottles then off to bed, hope everyone has a good night
