Lol sassy Its quite funny really, when Olly was due/born, "samsam" was my saviour, ds1 sat for hours watching it. He's not watched it that much lately but we've been putting it on this week ready to go and see him! The music really brings tears to my eyes cos it really reminds me of that special time!

sassy34264 · 27/05/2011 16:09

I remember barney the purple dinosaur bringing tears to mine but not for the same reason!

bananacurry · 27/05/2011 18:40

"Anyway. better go. I'm flying off to Turkey at the weekend. Its my wedding anniversary today. 4 years and not so D H has forgotten!!!!! 4 years, 2 babies (nearly) & not even a card!! I know a wonderful jewellery shop in Turkey. Here I come!!!!" My post from a year ago today! He did better this year! I got a card AND some flowers!!!

Sassy your post from a year ago tomorrow! "Been for my belated 24 week check up today and everything is good. Babies still have 2 very different heartrates. Twin 1 is 150bpm and twin 2 is 125-130bpm. I know it's an old wives tale that the faster one is a girl and the slower one is a boy, but i'm really hoping it's true in my case. Would make me the luckiest person on earth I think!" Funny to think that was only a year ago!

We were all discussing the grant, maternity clothes and pushchairs! Now we're discussing teeth, food & sleep!!!!

bananacurry · 27/05/2011 19:12

Me again! Ollys only had 6oz all day and that was at 5am. So effectively he's not had anything to drink (apart from sips of water) for 14 hours.

He's eaten his solids really well, massive bowl of porridge for breakfast, all but 2 spoons of a 7mth jar, a yoghurt, a biscuit & a big portion of leek, potato & chicken stuff! He just never "asked" for his 10am & 2pm bottles and when I tried to give him his bedtime bottle you'd think I was trying to feed him turps! Should I try a dream feed??? leave him??? ignore it??? worry???

sassy34264 · 27/05/2011 20:47

well the faster one turned out to be the boy and the slower one the girl, but i did turn out to be the luckiest in the world!
i don't know if im the right person to answer but seeing as no one has yet; i will. i wouldnt worry at all banana its only one day. it would be different if it had been going on a few days. i wouldnt even wake him for a dream feed, but if you'd feel better if he had some milk then do it. only thing is he might not take that and then you might start fretting more. if he was hungry he wouldn't sleep. on the other hand he might wake up in the middle of the night and have you up for a couple of hours! ha. its definately a judgement call. think i may have complicated it more?! sorry if i have. im just in bed and about to go to sleep........ yes i know its a friday- but im an old,new pregnant mum! Grin ngt. x

Dixiebell · 28/05/2011 05:46

Arlo's taken to waking up at 5 the last few days...why??!! 6.30 was absolutely fine, Arlo, let's go back to that!

sassy34264 · 28/05/2011 06:15

im up too dixie. isobel tried waking up at 4.40am but i managed get another hour out of her by taking her in bed with me. b4 the clocks changed mine was 7pm till 7am, then it changed to 7pm till 6am, now i consider it a lie in if i get to 6!! isobel is currently lying her head against everything as though shes shattered...........but you're the one who woke everyone up ! aaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhh

JodeyBogeyPicker · 28/05/2011 08:50

Morning peeps! Welcome back Sassy, it's great to hear you and the twins are doing well.

I'm just stuck in traffic on the M5 on the way to Cornwall so I thought I would take this rare opportunity to catch up on the thread. Only problem is I can't remember who said what. Lol.

Little update for you Sassy from this end:
Harlyn is s big gorgeous blonde chunky monkey on the 95th percentil for both length and weight. He had 7 teeth and lovely hair. He dribbles for England and gets through 10 thousand bibs a day. He loves to roll and sits up beautifully but no crawling or cruising yet. He is very sociable and giggles all the time, even at me pulling strange faces. He loves food and will eat anything from mackerel to curry. He is my everything and I'm going to miss him sooo much when I go back to school on the 7th June. Was supposed to be the 6th but that's now a training day so I can stay at home and plan. Sorry for any typos, trying to type in a moving car is a challenge x

saoirse86 · 28/05/2011 09:40

Have a good holiday Jodey!

Now, I know many of you won't want to hear this but it's rare that I'm not moaning about something. Orlaith went to sleep last night at 10.30 (I think I was asleep by 10.31), only woke twice and didn't wake properly til 9.05!!!!!!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

And I'm selling loads of stuff on ebay and it's finally going. There's a double maclaren my sister and I bought 6 months ago for £21 but we're selling now because the girls hate it, and it's got a bidding war going on. Confused

cinnamongreyhound · 28/05/2011 11:29

We're in traffic on M25 going to Somerset so you obviously left earlier than us JodeyBogeyPicker! Glad you get one extra day to get sorted before going back to work. My kids don't go back until 7th either and dh and I have our training session ds1's speech therapy on 6th so I have the morning off too, nice slow back after our week off.

Ds1- are we near to holiday yet?
Me- no

Dh just woke Luke up shouting at another driver, oh the joys of travelling!! Only 3 more hours to go Confused

JodeyBogeyPicker · 28/05/2011 11:30

sassy34264 · 28/05/2011 13:34

have a good hol jodey and cinnamon

bananacurry · 28/05/2011 19:30

Anyone use huggies? Do you have a pack on hand? Is there an "if you're not completely satisfied with this product" statement on it?? We took ds1 to see fireman sam & left Olly with some friends. When we got back he was in a nappy held together with industrial strength sellotape! All 3 spare nappies I'd sent had faulty sticky tabs & when I came home and checked there were 3 more in the pack. It was a multipack tho so I've thrown the box away. I wouldn't usually bother but 6 nappies is a bit extreme!

saoirse86 · 28/05/2011 19:40

There's no statement but the phone number is 08005875298 if that helps! Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 28/05/2011 19:41

I use huggies, had a similar thing with ds1 and I wrote to them via email from their website and they sent me loads of vouchers!!

We are here and although it's a bit breezy and overcast it's lovely. The caravan is the most luxurious I've ever been in!! It has proper doors, fitted kitchen, shower that will fit both of us and heated towel rail in bathroom and heaters in both bedrooms Grin. Pool on site is lovely, there's a great playground and a steam train runs right next to our caravan so the boys are super excited!

bananacurry · 28/05/2011 19:50

Thanks Saoirse

Cinnamon whats their website?? When I google it all I can find is the huggies club & there doesn't seem to be a contact us bit!

saoirse86 · 28/05/2011 19:53

banana on the pack it has www.huggiesclub.com and www.kimberly-clark.com

Debs75 · 28/05/2011 20:05

I've never liked Huggies and only use the swim nappies. Lucy is in reusables and pampers on a night but i recently bought her some Boots super dry and they are really good. They are a bit more like Huggies then Pampers but they are good and you get 2 packs of 36 for £7 atm. She is only in size 3 but they do come up smaller then the Pampers.

Lucy had another tooth so that makes 2 at the bottom, just waiting for the top ones and she will be able to bite me, definitely need to try her on some formula just in case.

bananacurry · 28/05/2011 20:10

Done it!!!

I've got to the bottom of Ollys reluctance to take his milk! Not sure if I said earlier that his gum looked liked it had the top layer of skin off. Well its turned into a huge yellow ulcer. It looks awful & I feel really bad that i've been making him suffer buy not giving him any medicine! I have a bit of a "if you can't see anything there isn't anything" opinion cos ds1 was always like that! Olly is obviously different!

cinnamongreyhound · 29/05/2011 09:02

Luke has that with both his top teeth bananacurry, I just put some bonjela on for a couple of days, they healed and a tooth was there!

That's so lovey sassy34264, I keep trying to teach Luke and all he does is grin at me. I have got him to clap one of his hands on mine Grin

beaditAli · 29/05/2011 09:21

Go Ollydobdob! Teeth! Yeay!
Everyone sounds like they're having a brill Bank Hol. Grin
Still no word from frig for a while Confused

Jack has been clapping for 6 days. It came from nowhere and now he does it all the time and is immensely proud of himself.

He still flicks his wrists and ankles really camply when he's giddy. He's so cute to watch!
Went to The Deep yesterday and I think Jack was the perfect age for it! I was worried he'd kip through it all or be too young but it was like one GIANT sensory centre and good fun for Mum and Dad too! I'd defo recommend it for anyone not so far away.
Think there's a similar one in London too Hmm

lumps Jack had a three day spell where he only had one bottle a day and even that was only 6oz. I wasn't oo worried as he was having water and the following week he had two teeth!!

sitmi......... we had an actual Mars Bar poo yesterday! Can't believe it actually fit inside him Shock Blush

beaditAli · 29/05/2011 10:43

Question!:
Grin
Since Jack was fitted with his helmet he's not had any covers or sleeping bag as he can't lose heat through his head so it's suggested you use one less layer on them. His head does get very sweaty Sad
My problem is that now our summer seems to be winter i've been giving him a light weight banket once he's nodded off but he seems to really want to snuggle into something. I cut up one of my pashmina type things into hanky sized pieces for him to use as comforters which he has all the time in the pram and in bed. but............ is it safe to let him have things in bed with him incase he wants to cosy up? I keep looking in his big, empty white cot and think he needs a lil cuddly friend in there but i'm scared!
Confused any advie????

So far today Oliver has wee'd in his own mouth (don't ask!) and projectiled his lunch all over himself.....fun times! Hmm

Beadit - am sure its ok as long as it not something that bits of fluff will come off if he decides to munch in the night! Olly doesn't have anything in his, but purely because he's so in to everything that I am sure if he woke up and saw it he would start chatting to it or playing loudly!

We've had clapping here for a while now - he now does it whenever DP or I tell him "No!" to get out of whatever he is in trouble for! [little git emoticon]

He really hasn't been himself for the last few days. He's been really clingy, following me round all the time and generally just non-stop crying or whining. Am pretty sure his teeth are sore but he is driving me insane! DP of course keeps pulling the I'm in work all day card! I would give anything to go to work for a day for a break! Angry

His black eye is getting a little better, but pretty sure thats still a bit sore too. He looks like an absolute bruiser.... Blush

sassy34264 · 29/05/2011 13:35

beaditali i think he would be ok with a cuddly teddy or something. my two never stay lying down when i put them to bed, so they're always laid face down on top of covers.
Had some disturbing news today and feeling all agitated and distracted. I said previously that chloe is geting confirmed and she goes to church either tues or sunday. but last night she came home crying (again) cos the girls she goes to church with are basically bullying her. so this morning i said i'd go with her. i dont mind going but it is really difficult trying to pacify 2 babies for over an hour. anyway, the bishop made us stayed behind for some news. basically the vicar of the church (for last 25 years) has had a formal complaint made against him and it is serious. they wouldnt say beyond that, but did say they expected press interest and there will be a press officer and asked if we could all not talk to the press. i can only think of 3 things, financial fiddling, children fiddling or an affair with a parishioner. quite a few people where crying, one women was beside herself and had to go out of the room with about 3 women comforting her, dont think that sounds financial. ended up asking chloe whether he had ever done anything inappropriate (she has been in his house for confirmation classes) but she says no. im hoping its a world away from that. even if it is that, i believe chloe, but it would be horrifying to think your child was in such close proximity to it. i think thats whats disturbing me. i wish i knew then i could stop speculating.

cinnamongreyhound · 29/05/2011 15:13

Luke has a chick that my brother bought him for Easter beaditAli, sometimes he talks to it other times he ignores it, plus a muslin to snuggle upto. I think once they start moving around they aren't going to be suffocated by one cuddly toy.

That's terrible sassy34264, it's such a horrible thought when you trust someone with your child.

I am laying on the beach right now, dh is fishing Luke is asleep and boys are digging. It very sunny but so windy it goes from boiling hot to freezing in a second. Just before he came out I left dh to put Luke in the pushchair while I went to the loo and he fell out!! Straight on his head on concrete, you should have heard the scream :(. I have put cold compress on, then some sudocrem and gave him some ibuprofen and he seemed fine. Asleep now because he's due a nap but I keep checking him to make sure he stirs when I poke stroke his cheek, poor little baby. Dh feels so bad but to be honest I don't always strap him in if I'm in a hurry so can't be angry really.
