Hello! It's me. I thought I'd start a thread which is VERY cheeky for someone who's not been around for AGES! Grin

Hi all, I have read but DS just gone to sleep so I will be quick!!

Swim lessons went well, DS was really laid back and pops is going great guns, she can swim unaided for 3-5 seconds and will jump in from standing. I'm so proud of her, it's the one thing she and i seem to do when it's just the two of us these days.

Dunno if you've seen my FB update but DS has had reaction to dairy and eggs (but not soya). So ronshar and CSWS, it l

Honeymoonmummy · 29/09/2011 05:03

People with boys - is the foreskin still very tight? I know so little about willies. Q went to dr today and she couldn't even pull the foreskin back even a little bit as it was so tight. She said her 3 yr old pulls his "on and off all the time"
I didn't even know you could pull it on/off?! What? This is the first/only uncircumcised willy I have ever seen. I'm wondering if the foreskin will just get more flexible with age? Or does he need to be circumcised?

Sorry. I've googled what is going on and pointed to diabetes so got all worked up. Now feel better but had no clue about the foreskin issue. Confused
Anyone?

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/09/2011 22:15

Eeek hmm. Egg is a staple food for us, so always been thankful there are no allergies to that. Do you have a paed appt to discuss it all?

star - ds1 can pull his foreskin right back now - has been able to for a few months, but don't know what the 'norm' is.

HavePatience · 30/09/2011 08:27

Hmm can he eat eggs that are in breads and cakes or not at all? That photo made me so Sad poor baby.

Csws I had no idea that foreskin was even meant to pull back until this appointment. It doesn't even go a little bit.
When grown men have this doesn't it make erm intimacy difficult?? I thought circumcision was just removing a tiny flap of skin. This is like a tunnel if I'm understanding properly...

Ekka · 30/09/2011 17:04

Hmm, sorry to hear about D; M is dairy and egg free still (as well as no soya, nuts, fish and kiwi) so if you have any questions ask away! I do miss cooking with eggs though....

Yes CSWS, I have an appointment with a paed on tues who specialises in allergies and dermatological probs. I'm just keepIng the food very simple till then! Ekka, I will definitely take you up on that when I know more!

Star, I'm a bit clueless too re DS willy and how it should function as your DH and mine have something in common!! Grin

Honeymoonmummy · 02/10/2011 08:52

Thanks! It has been a great day.
Myjob - yes. His willy definitely balloons and deflates as he wees. I thought this was normal? Never watched anyone with a willy wee other than Q, so no idea.
Dh is circumcised because in the US -the part we are from- it is done in hospital after birth as a matter of course unless you say you don't want it (or this is how it was in the part we are from... Maybe not anymore and definitely not everywhere in the US).
We thought it odd that they didn't do it here, but I was convinced by the research...
However, research the other way is just as convincing and abundant, I have since found Confused

He has some days where he has 4 wee accidents in his pants still - every 5 or so days.... Otherwise totally toilet trained. Even wakes completely dry daily without fail (but I still put on a pull up just in case for now).
On the accident days, he gets really upset about it and winces when he wees. Other days, totally toilet trained and seems fine Confused
He still holds in his poo and finds it difficult but it's always on the toilet
Every night, when he gets in the bath he almost immediately gets up and says he needs a wee and goes to the toilet.
No idea if any of this is related. No idea what is going on but I don't want him to suffer Sad
Foreskin definitely doesn't retract not even a little bit.
Sorry so long. Dr I saw is sending off urine sample but said it will loosen over time (?) and that her 3yo can pull his foreskin right back Hmm

HavePatience · 02/10/2011 20:43

And I've asked dh to look at it but dh knows nothing about foreskin, either

I confess to also having very little idea on small boys willies.... thankfully I will have DH to deal with that :) I'd be tempted to get a second opinion in your position. at our GP surgey I just get an appointment with a different GP if I'm unhappy... although with DS's tongue tie I went back to the same GP and was a lot more forthright and he agreed to refer him the second time. I think GPs do take their cue from you sometimes. Also if you didn't know about the ballooning being important before perhaps you didn't mention it?

we had a lovely weekend celebrating both DCs birthdays... v lucky with weather so had 12 toddlers round in the backgarden. Feeling guilty now though as at about 8pm I was violently sick (not the food as I didn't eat any) and it turns out that a few other members of DHs family also were ill.... just worried I have infected half the nursery and pre-school now :(

HMM there were 3 egg intolerant children at the party who had gone from not being able to eat anything egg related when they were very young to being able to tolerate it in cakes etc by 3.... hopefully D will go the same route.

ronshar · 04/10/2011 16:32

Hello everyone.
Hp I would suggest that even though it is quite gross that you very gently try and retract Q's foreskin. If you try while he is in the bath then it will give it a clean at the same time.
Do you stop Q from trying to do it himself? If W is anything to go by I figured all boys spent time discovering what that dangly thing does! Being told very loudly in a public loo that "wee is coming out of the tunnel" was an especially beautiful moment.

HavePatience · 04/10/2011 17:41

I don't stop him from playing with it and he doesn't play with it really at allConfused

He is quite uncomfortable today and yesterday. Saying something wrong with his pants Confused
I've tried to move foreskin in bath and it won't budge. Sad

Honeymoonmummy · 04/10/2011 19:23

Help!

Honeymoonmummy · 04/10/2011 19:28

Sorry Star, I didn't mean to ignore you, I think u should get secod opinion too and mention ballooning.

Honeymoonmummy · 04/10/2011 19:30

Second! God I'm so tired I've had a twitch in my eye all day! DS is slightly better tho Smile

pepperrabbit · 05/10/2011 20:11

ah, willies, I too have limited experience despite 2 DSs and a DH, but I do have 2 younger brothers and one had to be circumcised because his was too tight and I think that he started to get infections and I do remember very clearly, him HOWLING in pain one night and he was pretty much "done" the next day. We sniggered at him as he had to lie on the sofa with his willy out for a couple of days Grin. Other brother, as far as i'm aware never had the same problem and remains intact (if that's the phrase!)
All fun here. builders, dust, very limited use of rooms and I've had to walk the streets for 2 days as it was too dangerous to be here. Time goes soooo slowly when you have nothing specific to do! I've accomplished lots of errands on foot, as pointless driving the car 1/2 mile into town and paying to park. I've booked DD into dentist (with toothache! She's 2 Shock Blush!)
DS1 to the opticians, DS2 to the doctors all for non-urgent stuff. I even walked to the solicitors and changed my address (after 8 years!).
Very challenging domestically. Half the house very dangerous, rest just lethal and the DCs do not respond well to being cooped up now the weather's turned.
winge winge
I'm going to try to read the rest of the thread and catch up - hope eveyone is well! Smile
