Hmm, that is tricky. On one hand, if he can go weeks and weeks without drinking I doubt he's a "proper" alcoholic but secrecy and lying about it seem to suggest there is something not quite right. Not sure what to think really.

Spirael · 14/05/2011 10:11

Morning all! Very Grin and Envy over the walking babies.

M still has yet to move from her spot on the floor! Occasionally she flops onto her back, then rolls to freedom, but really seems disinterested in going very far. Hmm At least I'm still fairly safe at the moment just to leave her to it and wander into a neighbouring room for a short while. And she still sleeps through.

Incidentally, does anyone else have a baby that talks in their sleep? Shock I have a feeling M might be taking after my sleeping antics... I have been known to sleep talk, walk, freak out, cook, shower, etc.

The last few evenings, we've put M to bed and an hour or two later she's been squeaking and babbling. We go to check on her, and she's laying down, eyes closed, waving her arms about and making noise... Then will suddenly curl up and snore. Hmm

I seem to have a strange one! Grin

That's awful what happened in M&S, TSC! I hope you manage to sort things with your partner in whatever way is best.

memphis83 · 14/05/2011 10:13

wow tsc it does seem like he is in denial, do you think sitting down with him and just telling him all your fears/concerns etc that he may open up and talk or do you think he will carry on ignoring the situation? How is DD1 getting on at the mo?
wss wow 1st steps that excellent!!! L is running with his walker and when we call him he hesitates to take a step and at the last second drops to a crawl!!
cakes yes I mean riding riding, spoke to the dog behaviourist at puppy school last week about it and she assures me it isnt sexual as he is too you but its because he gets over excited and doesnt know what to do with himself, luckily by telling him off he has now gone from L and now tries to ride dh!!
dh enjoy your meal!!
We are booking a meal today for sometime next week that they seal the meat then it comes out on a hot rock and you cook it to your requirements, sil went and said it was amazing, local paper said its best quality steal in Leicester.
L woke once for his dummy last night and then slept til 6 which is late for him, gave him a bottle and he went back down til 7.30!

Oh god tsc Sad. I can only post a short one as in the middle of loading the car for brighton but just wanted to say that i hope your 'talk' goes well. You're doing all the right things by the sounds of it. I really hope he comes to his senses now and gets himself sorted. x

Happy Saturday one and all.

TSC I hope the putting the cards on the table talk will be good and will help sort things out.

cake Have fun in Brighton. Sorry F is being extra rough these days with A. What do you do with him when he's hurting her? I assume he understands that he is hurting her? Just trying to prepare myself for situations like that. Poor little A, I hope she will have a better day today.

WSS Well done G.

Not much going on here. Will probably go out for coffee and ice cream later. Tomorrow we'll be meeting some friends for breakfast. Mmmh.

My idea of not putting on as much weight with this pregnancy is not exactly going to plan. Hmm

tsc I hope you sort it out this weekend, remember to keep coming on here to rant when you need too.
mlic thats what worried me about the dominance but he will have his clackers cut off in 4 weeks time, as soon as he can have them off they are going!!
hows your dog saw on fb that a trip to vets was needed.
trudyla love the fact you are going for coffe and ice cream and tomorrows breakfast wont be cereal and fruit now will it? but then you say you seem to be putting on weight Grin hmm i wonder why!?!?
we have been for a bike ride with friends and ended up having a pub lunch then L fell asleep in highchair so we had to stay longer so I HAD to have pudding!!

MLIC Oh, I hope your dog will be better soon. It's horrible when animals are ill.

memph I know. That's what I meant that it's not going according to plan. The plan says veg and fruit. Then I say Ice cream and full English. I don't wonder for a second why I am putting on weight Blush

Oh, and I had cake instead of ice cream. Mmmh.

Have a good evening all.

CakeandRoses · 14/05/2011 20:15

Evening all

The brighton trip is to visit my mother, well its Hove actually but it runs into brighton. We're here overnight whilst dh is having a boys weekend with mates in leeds. I LOVE brighton, one of my top 3 cities. Has got everything here and is great for veggies too.

Just sitting with F til he drops off as he's a bit weirded out about being here as he doesn't know my mother and step-father or their house very well. I feel strangely pfb about him today, well, even more than usual anyway!

Was upset earlier to hear that dh's best mate told him earlier that his fiance had an abortion in feb :-( I'm not judging them but it seemed particularly sad given they're planning marriage and children in the next year or so. Keeps playing on my mind.

mlic I really got the giggles yday about you saying E rides W too. Have no idea why but this mental image of toddlers thinking their baby siblings were the ideal mode of transport kept coming into my head whilst I was watching the film with dh. After about the 6th secret snort I had to tell dh about it and he could not understand why I then properly pissed myself laughing, tears running down my face !

trudy sometimes F is just being boisterous with A and doesn't mean to hurt her in which case I'll just explain to him that he needs to be gentle etc and get him to say sorry. At the moment, he knows damn well what he's doing, so I do properly tell him off and make sure he says sorry. I struggle not to lose my temper after about the 5th time and I roared at him a couple of times yesterday and then felt awful about it. Was crying about it to dh last night actually. He thinks I'm too hard on myself but I really feel terrible when I can't manage to remain calm and in control and set an example to F :-(

Hope your DH doesn't get too wet, Cake! We keep having random downpours here in Leeds.

Cold too, the baby monitor alarm woke me up at 3am this morning because M needed another blanket, it was so cold. Shock

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 14/05/2011 23:50

'Ninjistics' wish I'd said that instead. Crap about your period. Mine are coming thick and fast (that sounds worse than I meant it to) since the first one. Almost worth getting pg again to stop them...

Morning,

Dylan is still asleep can you believe!

Also...OMG...he took his first steps with his walker Grin Grin Im so ridiculously proud of him. He was playing with the washing basket and it moved along the floor and he took steps with it so I thought Id try him with his walker and he is, of course, a bit wobbly but hes really rather good Wink

I tried to get some videos of it but when I try he doesnt do as well. Ill do another one today and get it up on fb.

Our meal was really nice yesterday, the man who owns it (hes italian) is so friendly and loves babies. He kissed my hand and called me beautiful and was just a very typical italian!

memphis83 · 15/05/2011 08:49

tsc shame about your periods, hope you had a nice day anyway!
dh ive taken so many videos of L i just cant get it on fb im clueless, L runs with his walker now and my mil said i should be slowing him down the silly cow, how can you stop him!!!
mlic well done for the all nighter L woke a lot but went off when I put the dummy in but he sacks his gums together in his sleep his teeth are really bothering him!!
another week where the carboot stuff is sat here as the weather is questionable, but I made £200 on ebay last week!

CakeandRoses · 15/05/2011 10:46

200 is brill memph! Perhaps you should start an ebay business?

I had to take F's walker away in the end as it was like 2fast 2furious in our sitting room just without the nitrate. He also refused to walk without it and I think would have gone from the walker to a zimmer frame given the chance.

Nice one D, dh :D looks like A's still not there with hers yet tho her bro steals it whenever she tries so I'm not sure she ever will. Your evening sounds fab.

Yay to w sleeping thru mlic!! How's he been in the day of late? The non-dairy helping? Does e's gro clock not work with him anymore? We've just got one hoping it might help with F's wake-ups.

Last night was soooo bad. Never going away alone again. Not until they both have a full set of teeth anyway!

OP posts:
memphis83 · 15/05/2011 14:39

tsc hope everythings ok.

cakes im only selling stuff I dont need still got boxes of stuff to get rid of that are too good to sell at car boot or charity shop . So do you think I should get rid of the walker for a bit? He lovs it so much, but dh has been saying to put it away to push him to walk but his face lights up when hes running with it, plus dh wants him to be walking 6 months ago, I just want him to stay a bay!

CakeandRoses · 15/05/2011 18:15

quiet lot today...

i wouldn't take it away just yet memph, we only did with F as he was 13 months and had blatantly been capable of walking for yonks but refused to unless he had his walker or was holding our finger hand. He soon managed it once his walker was gone.

am wrecked after the weekend. hope you all had a good one

OP posts:
Trudyla · 15/05/2011 18:29

cake Sorry your trip wasn't very good. Apart from the night being shit, did you manage to do something nice during the day? I was in Brighton once and really liked it.

Well done on all the (other than cake's) sleeping babies. M. slept in as well this morning, so both DP and me were up twiddling our thumbs. This has never happened before.

We had a nice weekend and I'm sad it's over. I have a busy week ahead though, I'm meeting someone every day (I don't normally do that, I'm not like you, socialble lot), so should be fun.

tsc How did it go?

MLIC How is your dog?

Have a nice rest of the Sunday all.

CakeandRoses · 15/05/2011 18:55

trudy the trip overall was nice, didn't do that much really, just mooched about at my mother's house and went to the beach for a paddle. it was just tough doing it all on my own, especially after the tough week with them.

very Envy of your lie-in!

hope your sociable week goes well Smile

oh and vik i didn;t get round to answering you before, sorry but if you have a look at trudy's thread re close gap between DCs you'll hopefully find some of the posts helpful too

OP posts:
WhatSheSaid · 15/05/2011 18:56

G only woke once, which compared to recent nights is a bit of a miracle/

The difference - I left her heater on all night (on low) - it's beem gettign cooler at nights here but I didn't think it was that cold yet - but maybe she was feeling it a bit.

tsc did you have your talk with dp?

memphis 200 quid is great, I'm slowly selling bits and pieces on our equivalent of ebay, not quite as impressive as you, about 15 quid last week! But it is all stuff that would just be sitting in a box under the bed otherwise. I'm gradually selling all the baby clothes and I don't feel sad about it so I guess that's my decision on a third dc made! I am keeping a few little bits and pieces though - clothes that were presents from certain people etc.

I keep meanng to do a memory box thing for each dd, putting in stuff like their wristbands from when they were in hospital and a few items of baby clothing and stuff like that. Haven't done it yet.
