I liked the CRESH acronym more than FESH so have used it. Welcome all ESH to your final stop on the journey. Rest your aching lady bits, try one of the many gin based cocktails, and try to molest the gorgeous waiting staff.

Got the same as cunty.

curly If I drop him off then I drop the buggy off too and they can walk home. But tbh now that we've got the baby-seat on the bicycle there's that option as well.

Cosmosis · 17/05/2011 15:43

Which maxi cosi, there are about a million of them and I can?t work out the difference in them! Do quite fancy the one that twists but it?s very spenny and as prev referenced I am tight. I looked at a britax as there is one that does 9m ? 11yrs but the harness fastening looked shit to be frank. I love the maxi cosi cabriofix we have now so would be happy to stay with them.

Honey, Artie has brekkie at 7.15, lunch any time between 12 and 1.30 (he had it at about 2.15 the other day) tea sometime between 5 and 6.

Cosmosis · 17/05/2011 15:46

Curls we have to have 2 seats, rich?s car has stupid seats that only take an isofix, and we bought the isofix family base which only takes the maxi cosi pearl as the next stage seat, not knowing that that seat can only be fastened on the base and not on a seat belt. My car doesn?t have isofix fixings.

Really though, I think it?s easier logistically to have 2 seats so you don?t have to keep shunting them from car to car.

AlpinePony · 17/05/2011 15:58

cossie We just got the plain black one. No swivel thing but then it's very easy to get him in and out. When they're teeny-tiny and can't supprot themselves in any way and need to be lifted in and you're cradling their heads afraid they're going to die - I can see the advantage. Now I just sort of throw him in the general direction of the seat whilst he battles to throw himself on the floor and then I yell "hold him down" whilst trying to strap him in. I think I got it half price in the sale - my favourite! Wink The fastening is quite tricky for an adult to do and requires dexterity and strength to undo. I expect a 12 month old to take approximately 3 seconds to undo it.

CUNextTuesday · 17/05/2011 16:01

I will find out which and let you know in a bit. We got given it by wealthy people and it looks pricey. Wouldn't mind squeezing into it myself, Rastus is always v comfy in it

rollerbaby · 17/05/2011 16:16

how do you know when to change the seat? Is it size or weight? We're up to about 22lbs and 73cms I think... He does look a bit squished in the pebble but I thought it went up to a year from memory.

CurlyCasper · 17/05/2011 16:31

honey ours switches at 20lbs. Squeaks is 18 at a push, so still has to have "baby" set up. I can't wait to turn it to forward facing, because I really like it that way. Is a PITA when rear facing - v little room to get the kid in without bashing her face off the car!

I found switching cars easy with the Group 0 seat - we could even lift that out and leave it at nursery. I too am tight, but might have to get another seat when the cabriofix is no longer suitable . But it is very rare that we would need it... Confused

Bike or walk not an option in the arse end of nowhere I'm afraid.

CUNextTuesday · 17/05/2011 16:39

moo the recommendation i thought was 9 months

CluckyKate · 17/05/2011 16:41

Either I think Moo - will say in the instructions, no?!

Is oft forgot that mares are entire too Alps. Mine is also a rampant flasher, until the time came to AI her that is when her cycles suddenly went AWOL. Having the foal has definitely chilled her and catching is no longer a 30 min. job, however, the birth was horrific (could've lost mare & foal had Mr Yard-Owner & vet nurse daughter not been there) so I wouldn't do it again.

So much chat going on I can barely keep up.

Box - will have to get the goss from you re. the riders....that is most intriguing. Also, well done on keeping schtum on the relaxed parenting front. Does 8 hours back-to-back Krypto Superdog qualify???

LC's ski-suit arrived today - eBay win. Is very pink....I think she will like. Her helmet also arrived - £5 eBay bargain. We go in 9 months and am unbelievably excited already.

Car seats - we used the Kiddy Infinity Pro for LC. Scored brilliantly on safety but she hated it....the thingummyjig that goes across the front is just too big. So, it has been consigned to the garage and we now use a Britax Evolva (that the one you looked at Cos ) which is great now she's 2.5 but wouldn't have been so good when she was smaller. We also have the Britax First Class+ in Mr Cluck's car which is also excellent but ver high up so I donk her head on the door every time I lift her in (which isn't often as she insists on climbing).

CurlyCasper · 17/05/2011 16:41

It's more about size really: when they have passed the maximum weight for their seat, or their head reaches beyond the top of it. At least that's what the woman in Mothercare told me, making me realise Squeaks could probably be in Group 0 until she is 2!

CurlyCasper · 17/05/2011 16:42

so glad you said that about the Kiddy Infinity kate cause that's the other one I looked at! Squeaks is too active to have put up with that big crash barrier.

CluckyKate · 17/05/2011 16:46

Great minds eh Cas....and if you're as clumsy as me you'll still be bashing her head when you turn the Britax around.

Cosmosis · 17/05/2011 17:04

Ok anyone want to meet at 12ish near waterloo tomorrow?? Last minute trip to London??

Re seat changes, the next ones up start at 9kg, the newborn one I have finishes at 13, so I am going on length as I know he?s just over 9 now.

yes that's the one I looked at the evolva.

SilverSky · 17/05/2011 17:53

I also knows some goss about eventing boys. HI works with a fella who is gay but has a yard of sjers as he competes as an amateur pro and he runs the yard by utilising the adoration of young gals who fancy the pants off him. Course he let's them think he is straight!

Anyone going to any other events this year?

I am also having the car seat dilemma as Mb is well wedged in, feet over the edge but head not quite at the top yet and no idea how heavy the little donut is!

Tomorrow I'm A1m bound as I am visiting the 'rents.

ginhag · 17/05/2011 18:06

Mooch had the second-stage carseat that they happened to be selling in Costco at the time

Now he is in a hulking great black thing so he looks like he's travelling first class.

I am concerned that (oh shit I never really had a name for the baybee that I used on here so dunno what to call him...errr..) anyway I am concerned that he won't fit in stage one seat by,ooo, next week? The child is a feckin GIANT!

ginhag · 17/05/2011 18:10

Oh,and we got around the needing 2 carseats thing by me very helpfully forgetting to learn to drive Blush

Yep, am the only person I know that ended up as sales director of a fairly successful business without being able to actually drive places. I can sail a boat though

Backinthebox · 17/05/2011 19:15

Silv, does your sj-er have a lovely scottish accent and a bf with a nearly grown-up son? Cluck and I know someone like that from my work.

Backinthebox · 17/05/2011 19:30

OH wins tonight's prize for bad parenting. After being told what a wriggler LG is turning into, and how fast he can now commando crawl across the floor, OH sat him up on our bed while he went into the bathroom to run a bath. LG now has a ripply-patterned-carpet imprint on his forehead. Hmm

AlpinePony · 17/05/2011 19:32

haha well done LGDad! Grin

We still haven't dropped Bear from the couch or bed yet - although I'll admit to having caught him by one foot a time or two.

CurlyCasper · 17/05/2011 19:37

My girl had a nasty slip while standing up in the empty bath tonight. I was about to shower down her poo covered lower body. She was left with nasty redness on her back and face/eye. It looks awful but she hardly cried. I have black eye fear. Her forehead is already black and blue.Well, actually, it is brown and yellow and I feel awful when people see it.

ginhag · 17/05/2011 19:50

Mooch currently has a proper 'social services' bruise. First night in new house he decided to dive across bedroom into his bed like the buzzy little nutter he is. Face first into the headboard, from a distance, at speed. Result - a swollen bruise across the bridge of his nose that made him look like an extra from star trek and 2 (reasonably subtle, thank fuck) black eyes... Was fucking horrible. His face is just about back to it's normal shape now.

SilverSky · 17/05/2011 19:55

boxerbeat just checked with HI and I believe it may be one and the same person. Wink Canny fellow eh? Does cluck work same gaff as you? Clearly the guy is an opportunist and shrewd with it! Bit of child labour and all for free. I say embrace it! I was child labour in my teenage years everyday after school and every weekend / half term and stuff I would be found at the stables. The girl running the stables even used to pick me up and drop me off! We'd spend hours ragwort pulling and jogging round the school with ponies on lead reins all in the hope that we may get a ride.

No chance of me winning the crown anytime soon. MB too slow lazy to do very much in terms of moving tho he rolled on his tum twice today and got stuck and screamed the house down.

CurlyCasper · 17/05/2011 20:14

Poor Mooch. His face is far too beautiful to be battered in such a way. How's it going with the new house and two boys gin?

ginhag · 17/05/2011 20:57

Fortunately he's quite bouncy casp! it was horrible tho, and I know exactly what you mean about sort of cringing when people notice... It doesn't look so bad now, the black eyes are more 'really fucking tired' than 'just punched in the face'.

Things here are good, have been ridiculous but now we are moved and mr gin hit the deadline it's a bit more sane. I was in work with the giant small one when he was only 7 weeks ffs! Still not entirely settled, mr g away next week with work and we're moving out of house for 6 weeks in July while lots of walls are knocked down, but it's all cool.

Have landed me a baby that seems to get the idea of night time this time round...he pretty much sleeps through already - I didn't know they could do that!! (anyone who gets 'grrr' at that can fuck off, I earned it after what I went thru with mooch!!!)

How are you anyway lovely? I gathered your body has been giving you a really hard time

Cosmosis · 17/05/2011 21:05

oh poor boy :(

your sleeping baby is repulsive, you deserve all the crap ham Wink
