I liked the CRESH acronym more than FESH so have used it. Welcome all ESH to your final stop on the journey. Rest your aching lady bits, try one of the many gin based cocktails, and try to molest the gorgeous waiting staff.

Can you fashion it into a medal cos? I like medals [mutley emoticon]

Mooch didn't sleep through for, oooo, about 2 years? Which was fun :)

The nice bit is that I'd always worried that maybe mooch was crap sleeper because of his feckin hippy soft mother and her random inconsistent parenting style...but I'm still just the same! And the baby giant behaves completely differently wrt night time sleep (and yelling.)

okiecokie · 17/05/2011 21:22

I would go for the Maxi Cosi car seat taht swivels. I know it is ££ but worth it when trying to wrestle a 2 year old into it who is arching his back and having a tantrum. I don't have it I hasten to add but I just want it. I have some other maxi cosi and generally I heart maxi cosis. I may buy it for Peppa although I reckon so won't give me as much grief.

Cosmosis · 17/05/2011 21:30

I will fashion into lovely medal with ribbon made of cheesestrings speshially for you ginbabe

ginhag · 17/05/2011 21:30

I always just poked mine in the tummy if he did that okes (in a vigorous 'tickling' way rather than actual violence...) Causes involuntary bending in the right direction, then you can strap 'em in. Doesn't look great if anyone happens to be watching you though (don't worry chaps, brought my own bad mother crown with me, so don't need to pinch the official ESH one. Though I probably could wrest it from cunty's grasp)

ginhag · 17/05/2011 21:31

cos that is the epitome of CLASS! Want one Grin

CurlyCasper · 17/05/2011 21:34

Glad it's all working out for you gin - sounded a bit mental for a while!

All ok-ish here. My body is just stupid. As is my mind. But I have plenty of hospital appointments and happy pills to get me sorted. And I also have a sleeping-through baby (mostly), which helps because I need the time to recover after she has bounced off everything during the day. Grin

I want to go and play in London with cossie. But I have a local mum + baby date tomorrow. And there's the small matter of me living closer to Manchester than London.

Can I beg again for another western meet? Anywhere between Lancaster and Somerset suits me. We could put Mooch and Boo in charge of the babies and tank some gin Grin

ginhag · 17/05/2011 21:41

Well, mr gin is away sun-wed next week... You're welcome to come and stay at the new pad!

Only my bedroom and moochy's have curtains/blinds tho. So you'd prob have to kip in with me. And no I am not trying to get in your pants :)

Sorry things have been so rough luvver. Also that I haven't been around xx

Cosmosis · 17/05/2011 21:45

ps re the meeting, I have approx 10 mintues, so wasn't actually a serious offer. i am just excited about the prospect of 2 and a half hours sleep on the train. AIBU to get to new client meeting with drool all down my chin?

CurlyCasper · 17/05/2011 21:45

Please don't go apologising mate - you've had to be wonder woman these past few months!

Next week would be fab, if I wasn't working. Although I do have Wednesdays off...

night hags. I'm off to bed.

CurlyCasper · 17/05/2011 21:47

well, it would be more unreasonable to meet new client after getting shit-faced with the ESH coven cos

Right, am off this time.

PerfectDromedary · 17/05/2011 22:01

giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin Hellair, darling. How is the Big Boy? And Mooch? And the moving trauma?

Cos I WISH I could come and meet you. If I hadn't paid for yoga I would have headed to the south bank for tea and baby chat.

Berwhale tried to launch himself out of the insert for the ergo yesterday. I only just caught him. Tonight, he attempted to push his way out of his bath-support-chair-thingy. Mind boggles at how he will attempt to kill himself with his calf muscles tomorrow.

Muser · 17/05/2011 22:21

Poor mooch and his bruise. Hope he heals fast.

Weirdly KateBob has also taken to trying to launch herself out of her sling. She flung herself backwards while only half in the Kari-me today and nearly ended up on the floor. Must start keeping a tighter hold.

Also, at 12 weeks she has finally outgrown her newborn size long sleeved vests. And only because her arms and torso are too long. Poor skinny baby.

Silv Cluck doesn't work, which is a bit of a bugger when she is the main breadwinner in their house. Shock But she does come to horse shows with me, and has met the lovely man. And he is a lovely man, just one with a lovely bf and a lovely -whatchacallit- stepson?

Cluck and I have just been to pub. We managed to stay out till nearly 10pm before being ready for home! Tragic.

Backinthebox · 17/05/2011 22:26

Sorry, didn't mean to shout there.

ginhag · 17/05/2011 22:37

drom n muse

The launching backwards thing is to do with them trying more to hold themselves upright, when they still haven't got the hang of exactly which bit does what. The power with which they can do it, and the out of nowhere-ness of it can be both terrifying and properly dangerous though. Crazy babies.

muse giant baby moved into 6-9 months clothes at 12 weeks. Is both very long and very wide. And very fucking heavy. My back is still fucked, obviously.

drom I have lurked occasionally but am a bit out of touch... Think you were having stress times? Are things better? Do you need to come to Bristol and drink tequila?

SilverSky · 18/05/2011 07:29

Now I remember box I was confused cos you said she knew him too.

Talking of baybees and their strength, the saying "it's as easy as taking candy off a baby" is quite frankly shite. MB and I seem to have daily wrestles when he grabs hold of the spoon at grub time. He is strong. Seriously! It's ridiculous and usually it's when the spoon is loaded and he grabs it with one hand and I have to remove it using both of mine!

We are now in 6-9mo clothes and some places do 6-12mo sizes. Odd. Must remember to get the child weighed as it's been awhile.

Anyone else suffering from wrist pain? Mine is related to lifting MB. It's killing me and I think it could be tendonitis. Trouble is I can't see it improving as he will get heavier and heavier.

drom does Berwhale go into Crèche or summat whilst you bend and relax?

CUNextTuesday · 18/05/2011 07:53

silv I got tennis elbow from lugging Rastus round, but the doc has sorted it out with some Diclofenac. Job done. Rastus is in 12-18 month clothes, which could go some way to explaining the above.

Day off today. We are going to the library on the bus. More to remove him from the twin temptations of the living room door and the electrical cables - for some reason, despite the many and varied toys we have, these seem to be the fun things du jour

Muser · 18/05/2011 08:06

Silv do you give the spoon thief a spoon of his own to play with? Was the only way with my nephew.

Busy day today, baby massage and me pilates. Don't know about the yoga, but in pilates the babe has to lay next to me and wriggle contentedly while I stretch. I'm hoping she's in a wriggly mood today.

my wrists are permanently buggered, not aided by child carrying and the frequent battle of nappy changes. Squeaks is still mainly in 6-9. She's been wearing the trousers she had on yesterday since November! i reckon gins little one is probably bigger.

My day off plans have been cancelled. Will go to tots group this morning. No idea what then. Sad

AlpinePony · 18/05/2011 08:14

clucky/boxer Your holiday sounds lovely! :) I wouldn't let the fellas go, they'll only get right on your tits and annoy you with the children. Let them do a "men's weekend" elsewhere.

silv I get very sore arms dragging him around the creche. It's on the first floor so I need to dump the buggy, negotiate stairgates, carry his changing bag and then put "blue carrier bags" on my shoes. Heavy little fucker. He's in clothes from 6-18 months, the sizing is so random. If we're out somewhere and he needs to be carried, we tend to swap because after a while your arms go numb. My bloody back is killing me lifting him in and out of the cot too... am wondering whether to remove a side so he can just fall crawl out himself. Wink

Does anyone else here do partial daycare? Bear is absolutely k-nackered after daycare and is in bed by 6:30, but other nights he's up until 7:30 - just wondered if that was "normal" - but I'm sure it is.

CurlyCasper · 18/05/2011 08:25

alps she's definitely more tired after nursery, partly because she only has short naps there, rarely more than 40 mins, whereas at home I can usually get her down for twice that. Bouncy or tired, I usually get her to bed at 7. Last night she conked out at 6.45, and she has been at nursery. On sunday, when she'd been at home all day, she was cot thumping til 7.30.

silv two spoons def the way forward. Every time he steals the one you are using, just lift the other. We swap quite a lot!

CUNextTuesday · 18/05/2011 08:37

Tip for tedious nappy times: Once they are in size 4 nappies, get some pull-ups. Nappy changing has turned from a 10 minute fight to the death, to a 2 minute sprint to the line. They have the added advantage of pinning legs into place for a precious few seconds Grin

CurlyCasper · 18/05/2011 08:44

good plan, but I'm not sure pull ups can solve my problems. She just about breaks my wrists by flipping over while I am holding her ankles and trying to contain vast volumes of gloopy poo from her bits. Not to mention the shit going everywhere. If I could, I would hose down rather than wipe!

CUNextTuesday · 18/05/2011 08:48

Yeah I hear ya. The only thing that works here is distraction - usually with something illicit like my phone or daddy's tape measure.

CurlyCasper · 18/05/2011 09:03

usually a remote control, packet of wipes, or phone here. But sometimes, she just won't have it. i'm hoping she'll potty train early!
