Grin Thought I should start a new thread as it certainly ISN'T snowing any more and those 4th Birthdays are a-coming and some have a-come!!! Smile

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to those I have missed (sorry) - hope you had splendid times Smile

Could someone perhaps bring up the stats thread? I think someone might've posted it on the snow thread actually, so I'll take a quixk look in a sec .....

hello ladies - too early to start buying uniform????? Wink

elkiedee · 05/05/2011 11:18

Danny had a lovely birthday with a party still to come, but we had a rather sad end to the evening after he'd gone to sleep. We came down from settling the boys to bed to find one of the cats lying dead by the sofa Shock Sad. Danny seemed to take it quite well this morning, though. I'm feeling guilty because I used to dote on those cats but in the last 2 or 3 years I've just been cross with them all the time (disgusting habits).

Bramshott · 05/05/2011 12:58

Oh no Oooggs, definitely not Wink! I picked up a little dress and cardigan for O at the school second hand sale at the end of term, and a pack of polo shirts for £2 in the M & S sale. O looked so sweet in the uniform - I'll try and get a photo on my profile.

Great to see you Bugmum and hear that G had a good birthday. Have you published any more books?!

CaptainDippy · 05/05/2011 20:28

P spontaneously went and popped on her big sister's uniform the other day. She looked so grown up and so wrong all the same time. I cried!! BlushWinkSad I won't need to buy much uniform as her 2 big sisters have gone before her ......

Oh Elkie, how [shock and Sad about your cat!! xx

oooggs · 06/05/2011 12:27

bramshott - O looks so cute!!!! (& grown up!!!)

Elkie - so about your cat Sad

elkiedee · 06/05/2011 12:36

Thanks. the kids are sad about her but they're being very sweet with her sister. They were from the same litter and they used to scrap but then snuggle up together, so it must be very strange for her.

Bramshott · 06/05/2011 14:15

Oh no Elkie! For some reason, that message didn't show up when I posted yesterday - I hope you didn't think I was being insensitive and ignoring you by posting randomly about uniform.

elkiedee · 06/05/2011 16:06

Not at all. I haven't read all the thread at all, and I've missed whole previous ones. I noticed something which made me look back to the previous thread.

Do your schools have formal school uniforms? Danny's is just black trousers and a red sweatshirt - he needs a school sweatshirt for trips and otherwise the worker at the attached Children's Centre advised me to just go and buy cheap ones somewhere so we stocked up at Sainsburys. Even so, he looked scarily grown up suddenly (he already goes to the nursery class there).

StatelyPoshBeartrothal · 06/05/2011 21:22

People are buying uniform already Shock
We haven;t heard anything from the school yet!

oooggs · 07/05/2011 07:37

katy - I am trying to spread the cost!!!!! with having to buy for 2.

Elkie - bookbag, pe bag, jumpers, cardis & ties all bought from school everything else from wherever!!!

It is a full school uniform - shirt & tie school - not many of those left down here

geordieminx · 07/05/2011 11:09

No uniform for another year here Shock

oooggs · 07/05/2011 20:27

yes gm and the Welsh lot started last year!!!! Weird how it is so different

CaptainDippy · 08/05/2011 09:42

I feel glad I have one moving up to Juniors, the same year P starts - so book bags, PE kit bag etc is all waiting and ready!! Do any of you have dinky dinks though cos P is a sturdy girlie and is MUCH bigger than DD2 when DD2 start school - so may have some dinky girl bits for anyone here who has a dinky girl!! Smile

Had my friend (Peggy)'s funeral Friday. Was so beautiful and so sad. I miss her so much.

HellllooooGrin

I can imagine the school stresses you've been under. Even though Will started last September, we still had to re-apply for his Reception place. It's usually a formality, but there has been a lot of children applying this year (and technically we're out of catchment) But he's in Grin

Their Welsh is coming on fantastically, and the boys are having full blown conversations in welshGrin Luckily I can still understand them (tho will need to go to lessons myself soonGrin)

When it comes to uniform (and clothes in general) I'm rather pleased that we had Josh first, he's fairly easy on clothesGrin so we can give them to Will. Will, however, seems to attract everything on sightHmmGrin

runnyhabbit · 08/05/2011 10:02

oohh Dippy xxxx

oooggs · 08/05/2011 18:03

dippy, I have one going into to Juniors but it is the same 'primary' school so no bits to hand down. Our school is YR - Y7 - all same uniform, building, sports day etc and the teachers sometimes change teaching years for the new Sept start.

Will have all 4 of them there for 2 years!!!! School photo should be nice Wink

Northernlurker · 08/05/2011 18:09

Our school doesn't have uniform (hurrah) so all I need to get for B for January is a bookbag.

B and dd2 are outside atm playing Octonauts. Is anybody else's April child obsessed with Octonauts?

Bramshott · 08/05/2011 20:22

Oh yes NL - O loves Octonauts, and Mighty Mites with the irritating Sarah Jane Hmm!

Dippy - O is, as you know, dinky Wink, so hang onto some dinky things until we come to play on the beach with you in the summer holiday Grin! I hope the funeral was okay.

elkiedee · 09/05/2011 16:28

Sorry to hear about your friend Dippy.

oooggs · 09/05/2011 18:14

blimey NL - I never imagined them not having a school uniform - they all do down here

Jack likes Octonauts - but rarely gets to watch it, 4 of them argue over the tv!!!

runnyhabbit · 10/05/2011 13:38

arghh...J has impetigo, so I'm at home. So much to do in work as well.

Afraid W has completely bypassed Cbeebies. Having an older brother (who he absolutely worships) means he straight on to Ben 10, Battle Force 5, Star Wars etc...you get my driftGrin

oooggs · 10/05/2011 20:29

I know exactly what you mean - Clone Wars, Stars Wars, Ben 10. Erin likes watching Disney dvds
