Welcome to those with a March 2010.
Happy Easter from me....
Unwrap it quick!..

Oh, it's a new thread. Sad I was hoping for chocolate.

OP posts:

Nail clipping: not Alex's favourite pastime because he wants to do it, but it can just about be achieved by singing the Tommy Thumb/Peter Pointer etc. song as we do each one.

RubyLovesMayMay · 23/11/2011 20:37

Fliss that was me! I cant remember what it was about now (terrible baby brain) but you were talking great sense.

Hope everyones okay, my hormones are going wild today, DH irritated me yesterday (nothing major) and Ive been in a foul mood ever since for two whole days.

Everyone and everything is getting on my nerves, except DD bless her and shes a little bit under the weather, so lots of cuddles with her are helping

So looking forward to this grey cloud over my head clearing and the weekend so I can chill and unwind for a bit.

Apparently I've made someone cry on another thread I really dont know if she was being sensitve or if I was being a bitch so I think its best I avoid communication with people until Im feeling chirpier.

MANDA many many congrats !!

SIAMESE really please that you are coming out the other side and DH is coming home to help....! X

slimmingsarahandco · 24/11/2011 21:10

OMG! Rosie is Mary in the nativity at nursery[proud]!

Flisspaps · 25/11/2011 14:07

sarah how fab Smile

We have a star in our midst too, anyone else see squiggley on Sky News today discussing the Birthplace Study findings? Grin

BlueyDragon · 25/11/2011 14:36

No, I missed squiggly unfortunately. I bet she was good though.

Scooby, I feel a bit better now! Alex does have quite the belly on him though, bless him, but at least he no longer has 4 knees Grin.

Good luck to Rosie Sarah! Hope you've got the video camera and the tissues ready.

PacificDogwood · 27/11/2011 20:45

Hi, all, and welcome back, ruby Smile.

Here is a summary of what has been going on - warning links to a moany thread linking to 2 other moany thread Blush.
Basically, I worry about angry/unhappy DS2. That's it in summary.

Joe is doing well and is very funny, still no words, apart from maybe 'car' which has reduced car- and motorracing-nut DH to emotional tears Grin.
He carries on to climb whatever he can find (uses drawers in kitchen as stairs and pushes chairs to wherever he wants to get up on) and has the bumps/bruises/scars to prove it. I could really do with having eyes in the back of my head. He also disapproves of sitting in the buggy now, would much rather run walk, but not necessarily in the direction I want to go in, so wrestling matches are a daily occurance...

DS2 had the worst croup attack I can remember him having. He is my preemie, chesty one with a bit of asthma and has had croup before, but last Sunday night was something else. We were v close to taking him to hospital; in the end I went to my surgery at 3am and got some soluble prednisolone out of our cupboard for him which settled him a little. Saw our own GP the next day and he got some nebulised steroids that afternoon, and of course, he has been fine since. That was a night I don't need to repeat in a hurry...

I am quite envious of anybody with nativity plays coming up - my boys are not interested in plays although DS1 writes songs ("I am DJ Duck and I really suck... HmmGrin). Good luck with all your little performers; I hope they all have a great time and there is no dry eye in the house!

Somebody PM me who squiggley is, purleeze? I am hopeless at sleuthing...

Talking of sleuthing: anybody know whether Pixie is about still/again? In some other guise? These twins of hers must be 4 months old now, wow!

Love to you all xx

Flisspaps · 28/11/2011 21:45

Twins? Won't the twins be about 21 months now or did she have more twins? Confused

squiggley wriggler AKA The Hackney Doula Smile

slimmingsarahandco · 28/11/2011 23:59

she had twins when we all had our march babies, had a singleton recently- i miss pixie x

PacificDogwood · 29/11/2011 19:50

I am Blush about me getting P's brood wrong - how could I?!

MandaHugNKiss · 30/11/2011 14:00

No wedding plans as yet, Bluey Infact, I got all hormonally weepy misty eyed the other day looking at the wedding packages of a place we're considering for christmas dinner (another story). I just kinda realised that I'm never going to have the big, showy wedding that I secretly yearn for (my first wedding was an extreme, absolutely no money, non event). This time, we could definitely afford something very nice indeed (although with saving for a house (trying to get to the point where we'd need a very small mortgage rather than simply saving for a deposit) and five children between us, the logic of spending such money on a single day doesn't really add up...) but there are such complicated family politics on both sides that I can't see how it would be a 'lovely' day - I just know that certain people would be gritting their teeth having to be in the same proximity as certain other people andI wouldn't be able to get past that. It wouldn't be possible to not invite any of them. I would get so caught up in trying to ensure everyone else was ok that I can imagine being very bitter at the end of it. Ugh. Anyway. So we may just sod off to Vegas (DF loves it there) and do it quietly (or not so quietly; well, it is Vegas), alone. Or maybe somewhere else, idyllic... but alone. Dunno. I'm still far too distracted looking at my sparkly to even worry too much about needing a house, giving birth again, getting married without pissing everyone or myself off ... in other words, I'm in denial!

I miss pixie too.

siamese I also want to echo what has already been said about not worrying about bringing the thread down. But as someone who usually bottles everything up and pretends I'm ok I can probably understand your thought process. I'm so, so glad you are coming out the other side - sounds like you have a real support network, maybe moreso than you thought you did, and it seems like you're on the up and up.

RubyLovesMayMay · 07/12/2011 12:45

Hiya everyone

Had my 20 week scan yesterday, DD will be getting a Baby Brother Grin

Cue lots of comments about how DH must be relieved Hmm or having the "full set" Hmm Have to laugh really.

Have to have another scan on Monday afternoon as the Sonographer could not see his right kidney properly and booked us in for a more specific scan to look into it further. Everything esle is fine so I'll not worry about that for now.

Worrying more about what to do with all DD's gorgeous girly clothes that I wont get to use again

Think we have even decided on his name, which I'll keep under my hat for now just in case a better name comes along

Just getting over a stinking viral infection so I have had a constant headache for about a week and a half Sad and Im rattling from all the paracetamol Ive been taking.

Feeling a bit better now and Im just getting ready for Christmas Xmas Smile

The tree is up, and DD keeps taking off the baubles and licking the glitter ones, so glitter everywhere.

Christmas shopping was done and dusted last month so Im just waiting for my annual leave to start as we'll be spending Christmas in Leeds with my family this year.

Im am SO excited, its untrue.

Mine and DH's 2 year wedding anniversary was on Monday but as I was so ill I could only drag myself to the pub for lunch, oh the romance! Grin

scooby26 · 07/12/2011 23:15

Manda,

Hope u get the wedding of your dreams- wotever u decide that displays as. Can thoroughly recommend Riviera Maya in Mexico.

Ruby -any congrats for baby boy and wedding anniversary. I LOoooove having a boy. I'm sooo not girly! Sure your scan will be fine.

Drumroll.................. I have got reduced hours at work!!! Only taken 12 mths- 3 mths of this current application. And bizarrely they have decided it can start on 19th march 2012. Plucked out of the sky I should imagine!

5 days on , 5 days off.... Roll on march!

MissPentChristmasBudget · 09/12/2011 09:04

scooby that's really brilliant news, I'm so glad to hear you've finally got something positive out of the whole battle. You must be looking forward to March!

ruby how lovely, a little brother for DD Xmas Smile Glad to hear you're recovering from your infection. I can't wait to put our Christmas tree up; Izzy keeps pointing out trees when we're out and about. How long the baubles will actually stay on the tree is another matter.

siamese good to have you back. To echo what others have already said, we're here for the good and the bad, but I can understand where you're coming from. The times when I really could do with an outlet are the times when I find it most difficult to talk to anyone. Glad you're feeling better now though.

I'm getting really excited about Christmas; Izzy keeps asking about "Santa" and "Rudolph" (which she pronounces 'Reba' for some reason). She's a bit confused though, we watched some of Dumbo the other day and the stork brings the baby animals in sacks, so now she thinks there's a bird involved somewhere in bringing her presents Xmas Confused

slimmingsarahandco · 09/12/2011 21:03

wow fab news ruby and scooby! xxx

merry christmas every one x miss u lot, x

Flisspaps · 09/12/2011 21:24

Fab news Scooby and Ruby Grin

No idea what I'm having, other than a VERY hiccuppy baby much like DD was and still is. We're putting our tree up tomorrow so I only need to wrestle two toddlers off it for a week and then I'm done until September. Seems very strange to be going on maternity leave so early!

RubyLovesMayMay · 09/12/2011 21:56

Thanks guys Xmas Smile

I've gone to bed early tonight cos I still feel rotten Sad but watching the Nations Favourite Bee Gees song and seriously loving it Blush

And my Mum just called me saying Tesco have a sale on so she's been getting some boy's stuff so that made me smile.

I dont have any plans or desire to leave the house this weekend. Work has left me frazzled and this week is going to be nuts as its my last week before im off for the Christmas break.

fliss so jealous that you're going on Mat leave so early. I just. can't. be. arsed with anything work at all. But Im trying to leave it as long as I can so I dont have to go back early.

DD is being very cuddly of late which wouldn't be so bad if she didnt elbow me in the boobs so much (proper kills me) and copies any phrase we say. Got a recording of her copying me saying "Merry Christmas" on my phone so I might try and send that with some Christmas tat to my relatives in Canada via e-mail/Blackberry Grin

DD also came home with glittery paint on her toes the other day Hmm so I think we have another calendar coming to us courtesy of playgroup to put on the fridge. Love stuff like that!

Have a lovely weekend ladies

FlipFantasia · 10/12/2011 16:21

Afternoon ladies

scooby hurrah for reduced hours!! Most excellent Smile

Ruby & Fliss totally with you on the can't be arsed-ness of working! Roll on the Christmas break. Am 25+1 but won't be going on maternity leave until 2 March (though my actually maternity leave kicks in on 19 March, as will be using up annual leave first) - my EDD is 23 March...last time I felt I was on maternity leave too early and I hope that this time I'm more prepared for going overdue!

Had a totally lovely day on Thursday with MissP and the gorgeously cute Izzy. She braved Finsbury Park on a windy December day and we had great fun in the playground, at a music session and having lunch.

Right, DS is just waking up from his nap (was a late one today as was rushing around before lunch Doing Christmas Stuff). Hope everyone is well and looking forward to Christmas Xmas Grin

slimmingsarahandco · 15/12/2011 14:11

hello ladies and merry christmas to u x

BlueyDragon · 16/12/2011 09:16

Congratulations Ruby!

And great news for you, too, Scooby. You've been so persistent and at last it's paid off.

Love the Christmas name, MissP.

MissPentChristmasBudget · 16/12/2011 19:49

Thanks Bluey Xmas Grin

Hope everyone is doing well and getting organised for Christmas. I've just booked a few days in Edinburgh (January 18th-22nd but only really free 19th-21st due to travelling) as DH is off to North Carolina for a conference. Does anyone in the vicinity fancy getting together for lunch, coffee, whatever?

We should also try to organise something further South or Midlands-y again. The babies are getting so big now, I'd love to see them all (and their lovely mums Xmas Smile) again.

santaswifesarahandco · 17/12/2011 11:43

missp no we only get to do nails whilst peppa pig is on the telly....
Anyway. nothing much more to say really - DD2 is hilarious, she's full of words and interacting all the time - and she is also finding her Strop Factor, which is, also, pretty funny, I have to say Smile
Missed you all - glad you ok (give or take) - and hope I haven't missed anything epic
