Right, can post properly now I'm on the big computer rather than the phone, what a fiddle that is.
RubyLovesMayMay I think I spotted you on another thread a few days ago, when you agreed with me about something (thank you if it was you!) and I thought it was you but I wasn't certain that it was you IYKWIM! You're due shortly after me then
PD Glad it's working out with the nanny but :( re DS2. I have no advice or suggestions but I do hope that you get to the root of his troubles, it can't be much fun for him either.
Siamese FABULOUS to 'see' you - I thought you had been quiet recently and I'm sure everyone will agree that there is always a space for Siamese (and you, RubyLovesMayMay) to hang out with us. I am glad that you're feeling happy
It's also lovely to see that I am not the only one being forced to endure endless rounds of singing from That Bloody Teapot. MissPenteuth* seemingly also knows of what we speak.
For anyone else worrying about not wanting to bring things down or add to any bad times that might be going on - don't worry, because that's what we're here for (as well as for sharing embarrassing and/or funny tales). Without wanting to be Channel 5 B-movie schmaltzy, we've been through a lot 'together' and no-one should feel that they can't talk freely here, even if you don't want advice or suggestions.
20 week scan was on Saturday and all seemed well :) Turns out the midwife doing the scan was the Supervisor of Midwives who is coming out to see me to bring all the NHS guidance on 'homebirth against medical advice' - she didn't realise who I was at first, she asked me where I planned to have the baby and got rather excited when I said at home. When I suggested she wouldn't be quite so enthusiastic if she'd read my notes, and that in fact she probably had read my notes, she realised who I was. She then said 'well I didn't find anything suspect, but if I looked long enough I probably could'
Me:
Don't say that.
I'm pretty sure she was saying it in a jokey way but I've been so geared up to have to fight for a homebirth this time (which to be fair has been a pleasant surprise in that I've encountered shockingly supportive midwives) that really, I didn't find it a particularly funny comment. Anyway, she is coming to meet me properly in December, she thinks I've already gone through all the risks and whatnot that she thinks I need to be informed of, so it's mainly going to be a case of going through what they'd like me to do, compared to what I am willing to do, and trying to find some middle ground between the CLU birth they'd advise and the bugger-off-and-leave-me-alone-until-I-NEED-you birth that I would like to try for this time.
Ho-hum, you so know that this baby is going to be breech or transverse at 38 weeks
Did someone mention Christmas? I am Very Excited.
