It was getting desperate and since MrsMCJnr suggestion came in last and I was being lazy I just went for that - hope that is ok.

Hope Nathan is over it now, Madmouse? Mia has had a vile hacking cough for weeks....she had 5 days of abx which made a difference for a bit, but now it seems to be back in force. Going to take her back to the GP on Thurs if it hasn't cleared....:(

Simpson - absolutely class Xmas GrinXmas Grin Nobody puts Baby in the corner, right?!

Off to check out your link now LaT....be back later :) Oh, and I will hold you entirely responsible if T doesn't love the dolls house you recommended.....(I saw your comment on the 'worst toys' thread yesterday!!) Xmas Grin

Fillybuster · 13/12/2011 10:59

I've posted on your other thread LaT

latrucha · 13/12/2011 12:14

It's Sabela. She just doesn't get 'small people' play at all. Everyone who comes to the house adores it. It's a great house.

I'll check the other thread later. Only on as I won a competition! the one for Give as you Live. Totally thrilled!

latrucha · 13/12/2011 20:22

Hi all,

I'm pretty sure it's teeth. I'm pleased tonight as however the rest of the night goes I have got him to settle in his cot for his first sleep. It did take stroking and patting, but there we are. I can do that for a while. Last two nights I have brought him down once S was asleep. I really want to keep the bedtime routine going as normal. I need to feel things aren't getting chaotic. [control freak emoticon].

Only problem is, if I stay in the room after lights out S lies there desperately trying to get my attention, coughing and sighing etc. Had to have firm words tonight, along the lines of, 'I can leave and let Danny scream if you want.' Nice mummy eh?

There is a little night light, but it doesn't give off much. I may try and get something. I can't leave him to cry. Not that I don;t want to it just really seems not to work with him and I'm not letting scream for hours, which is what it would be. I'm not sure that's what you're suggesting anway.

madmouse · 13/12/2011 22:46

No LaT that's not what I'm suggesting, at least not as a one size fits all solution. When Nathan had funny crying bouts he was normally such a good sleeper that we felt he must need comfort so we did loads of cuddles and distraction - looking at the lights of cars on the road, even little videos on our phones.

latrucha · 14/12/2011 20:17

He ended up in bed with me again last night but I've decided that as long as bedtime routine is pretty much the same he can come in while he's teething. He doesn't really bother me. When and if it's a problem I'll sort it.

Ipatted him to sleep again tonight and he went down much quicker. S was objecting again to I'm getting all the fuss and I wasn't very patient. Have been up since 5 though and up in the night three times. She does seem to get it in the neck when Danny needs things though. Maybe because it's usually her that does. Hmm

latrucha · 14/12/2011 20:19

What do or did you do about little boy's legs int he winter. With DD I put tights on under trousers to keep her warm. Shall I do the same with D? All baby socks seem to be so short. When he's in the pushchair his trousers ride up and his little chubby calves are all exposed.

madmouse · 14/12/2011 20:31

I've never used tights with Nathan but there's no reason why you can't. I've always used a footmuff in the push chair. Now he has splints he wears knee high socks anyhow.

Wellie socks are another option.

latrucha · 14/12/2011 20:59

Never had a wellie sock. Do they stay up? We have a stay-put blanket ont he puschair but the wind whips round here and I see those little legs on the swing etc. Aww

madmouse · 14/12/2011 22:13

Do they stay up? Erm I'm not the right one to ask as Nathan's splints hold them up. They are lovely and warm though for his thin leggies and those plastic splints.

latrucha · 15/12/2011 09:31

Sorry for the silly question Madmouse.

madmouse · 15/12/2011 11:10

It's not a silly question!!! But Nathan's splints go over his socks Smile

But I had a look for you this morning and yes they stay up even over Nathan's skinny calves. I bought his from Store21 but I've seen them in Aldi, Morrisons everywhere.

latrucha · 15/12/2011 15:23

Ah. Ok. We have a Store 21. I'll have a look.

Thanks!

simpson · 15/12/2011 19:30

LaT - I used a buggy snuggle with M.

They are lovely and soft and adjustable heightwise. I got 3 winters out of M's so well worth the money IMO.

Can I have a proud moment?

J very Sad today as he had to say good bye to his teacher who is leaving. But he did tell me that she has put up in the class room a list with numeracy, literacy, guided reading, spellings etc and then listed each child on where they rank in the class iyswim and J is top in everything Grin

latrucha · 15/12/2011 20:29

That is bloody brilliant Simpson. I bet you're gowing! Smile

latrucha · 15/12/2011 20:30

glowing

simpson · 16/12/2011 16:08

Having a nightmare as my lap top has died again. Basically found out today that Joshua needs an op on his hand. Posting this from phone which is very slow!

latrucha · 16/12/2011 20:48

Sorry to hear that Simpson. Give us the details when you can. x

simpson · 16/12/2011 23:14

Am typing from my phone so it may be hard going!

Basically Joshua fell quite badly in the park back in early sept when he was out with my brother. He came back home 2 days late r and the cut looked dirty lots of dried blood etc. took him to doc who said no infection but it has healed over with a lump under the skin and scar quite red. Back at gp yesterday who referred for xray today & something is showing under the skin which needs to come out. Just hope we don't have to wait too long.

Spoke to gp on phone as she has to do referral for op & she said it can take 2 Weeks for hosp to fax her (shock) then said oh no hold on a minute they are here already! (phew)

latrucha · 19/12/2011 14:17

I'm sorry to hear that, Simpson.

Any thoughts over here would be welcome.

Fillybuster · 19/12/2011 19:49

My birthday today....another year gone! Hmm I'm still not sure about this whole getting older thing (I'm officially sticking on 33 for the time being....Grin) but it has been a lovely birthday this year....went to the pub with friends last night, woken up by the dcs singing Happy Birthday this morning - and dh did a great job on presents and baked me a cake (bless!). We both took today off work and he took me ice-skating (hah...I was dreadful!) and out for lunch, then a mooch around the National Gallery (but not the Leonardo exhibition....we weren't that organised!)...I'm feeling so blessed and lucky....and tired Grin

Simpson - hope J's hand is ok - is it bothering him? Well done on his school progress...that's amazing!!!! [proud for mate emoticon]

LaT - I have a good friend who had a dd first, then her 2 dss'....she swears by the cheap navy tights from tesco for under their trousers until they're around 2 and start arguing!!!! Grin Must admit we just do the buggie snuggle thing - I bought a mcclaren/mothercare one on ebay last month for about £5 incl postage, and its great.

Right, off to check out that other thread....

latrucha · 19/12/2011 19:57

Happy Birthday Filly!

Fillybuster · 21/12/2011 19:39

Thanks LaT :) Things any better with you?

latrucha · 21/12/2011 19:43

Well, I'm hopeful but there are still a lot of bridges to build. Things are a bit less nervy though and a bit softer, IYSWIM. Thanks.

mind you, we do have a long, log car journey tomorrow. Off to see my step-mother and brother for Christmas.

simpson · 21/12/2011 20:47
