It was getting desperate and since MrsMCJnr suggestion came in last and I was being lazy I just went for that - hope that is ok.

Hi Ange, nice to hear from you. So, when exactly are you doing this marathon training? Shock I'm a bit Envy. I wanted to do it once, but started with inadequate equipment and did my knees in. How's your dad doing?

JKSLtd · 05/12/2011 20:38

Hi Ange :) - how is your dad doing? hopefully doing well. well done on all that training (rather you than me!).

all fine here, M charmed another crowd of OAPs at the latest orchestra concert today, H is on a 4am wakeup (nice) but is doing brilliantly.

In fact we got a letter from the speech therapist saying he doesn't need it anymore. We're sceptical though and will try to request more support as it would be harder to get it back if we lost it.

T is zooming along with his reading now, phew. though spelling is not so good - but tbh i don't focus on it at home yet, i feel he is too young to be having spelling tests & that he needs to be totally confident about his reading first.

Christmas concerts & plays by the hundred coming up, i'll be sick of it all by the day itself!
Not got decorations up yet, who has? hoping to find time this weekend as T is desperate :)

latrucha · 05/12/2011 20:47

Smile Good news all round JKS. Hope you get to retain speech therapist, though.

No decorations up yet. I'm hoping to do them next weekend. DH is mad busy at work and I've got a cough-cold. We're all feeling a bit tired. I've even got the heating on, which is something for me.

Sabela wrote on her school Christmas list, on top of the things we did here,

A bird
A snake sliding

When I asked her what she meant she said, 'A bird, flying up up up in the sky.' Which I thought was sweet and impossible. She's not getting the snake either Grin

Fillybuster · 06/12/2011 18:54

How's your dad? Marathon training???!!! ShockShock Rather you than me, especially in this weather...but good luck :)

LaT - I love the xmas wish list....I think S has got the right idea : ask for things you 'wish' for, rather than things you 'want' :) Luvverly :)

JKS - I see you made it to 5.15 this morning....Hmm Would bribery work? Glad to hear about T's reading - you're so right not to stress about the spelling - they all get there in their own time.

Simpson - hurrah! so glad you're doing something interesting and fulfilling :) Long may it last :) It's horrid when friends move away, but with any luck it means you'll have somewhere nice to go and visit on holidays and for weekends....I know thats not the same, but anyway, it might be a while before they move if they're doing up a wreck?

T's birthday party is still causing me headaches, but I'm getting there slowly. I can't believe that almost all the entertainers I called were either over £200 Shock (how on earth can they justify that????) or over £200 and fully booked....I think I've found someone a bit more reasonable, and I've got a hall on hold, but I'm just a bit pissed off that its going to cost so much money and won't be as nice/low key/cuddly as doing it at home would have been. Ah well, just one of those things.

I've been sorting out channukah and birthday presents - I got some brilliant sylvanian families stuff on ebay, at a great price, so will give T some of the smaller bits for channukah and keep some back for her birthday. And we bought the lovely dolls house LaT recommended from ToysRUs....T is desperate for a proper dollshouse like her friends have got and she is going to love it. We're having it delivered to my parent's house, and I think will give it to her on her actual birthday, but in the evening after we've finished moving in there.

Loving ebay this year - I've got A some 150 piece jigsaws, and found Mia some cheap Happyland stuff.

Do any of you know where I can find nice towelling (not fleece) dressing gowns for A & T? Mia has inherited T's old one, and T is currently wearing A's knackered blue one, but A & T have both asked for new dressing gowns for channukah and I can't find them anywhere....

latrucha · 06/12/2011 19:43

That's a surprisngly difficult one Filly but I'm sitting in S's room as she can't sleep, so I've nothing better to do!

So far, this.

latrucha · 06/12/2011 19:48

Not exciting but nice

latrucha · 06/12/2011 19:50

AngeChica · 06/12/2011 21:26

Hi, cheers, yes it sure is hard to fit it all in. Winter training is horrid, I'm not used to it as I have only every trained for the Great North Run before which you can train through the summer for. I go to a running club on Mon and Weds - this replaced my Zumba anyway. If I can finish work early I can go on the treadmill at work and I do one long run at the weekend. Means DH has to put DS to bed more , but he is no bother at bedtime, and look after him more in general. I will support DH when he does Kilimanjaro in 2013 so it's a fair cop. I was also selling cards and calendars & markets, fairs etc to help raise the money for the sponsorship and at one point it just felt a bit overwhelming, so we are just relaxing and concentrating on the training from now on. Dad doing Ok thanks. Still very much himself, grimly determined to keep putting one foot in front of the other, the disease has progressed though, & there is very much a sense he is still "getting away with it" for the time being. It has been so good to have this borrowed time, which I will always treasure. PS thanks for birthday wishes x

latrucha · 06/12/2011 21:57

Have just bought my brother some North Face running gloves. I thought you'd give me some kudos for that. Wink

latrucha · 06/12/2011 21:59

p.s. Sabela went absolutely dreamy eyed at a programme where they were showing very big glass beads. She really loved them.

It's just nuts to even think of getting her some with D around, isn't it? Nuts. Convince me.

And anyway, if DH saw them he'd throw them out.

But she was so happy watching them. Sad

JKSLtd · 07/12/2011 05:50

We're working on bribery, still sadly a long way off though.

5.17 today - except insomnia had struck and i was awake from 4ish yawn

latrucha · 07/12/2011 08:59

I hate it when you wake when they usually do but they don't.

We've been at 5.30 the last couple of days and it is, when compared to 4.15, bliss.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 07/12/2011 11:21

JKS - E will not respond to bribery EVER no matter what.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 07/12/2011 11:22

simps - have you heard from madmouse. I saw her status yesterday about Nathan being poorly and she hasnt been on here.

OP posts:
latrucha · 07/12/2011 11:36

Right that's it. I'm done buying Christmas presents. Full stop. No more.

Not even a wooden engine shed. No.

And breathe .....

Off to check up about Madmouse.

latrucha · 07/12/2011 17:06

Towelling dressing gowns in the new Vertbaudet catalogue. Some good discount codes around too.

madmouse · 07/12/2011 19:22

Hi guys sorry was lax posting. Had to be up to give meds at 1 and 5am - Nathan was awake from 1-3.30 or so very happy??? Then had to get up at 7 for work with dh staying with Nathan.

This afternoon I was home with him and he had a little dip having been busy all day his temp went up again and he had a little sleep and for some reason that stressed me out (can only cope with straight upward trajectories).

Nathan having chest infections are as hard for the effect they have on my anxiety as they are in their own right, or according to dh 80% of the stress he experiences when Nathan is ill is related to me!

Am working on it in therapy and have done very well yesterday!

latrucha · 08/12/2011 06:05

Ah he's no slouch in passing on his anxieties to others Wink

How are you all today?

JKSLtd · 08/12/2011 06:44

Urgh H up at 5.30, goodish for him currently but disturbed T who got up even after I'd tried the whole 'it's nighttime go back to bed shush tuck in etc' routine. Apparently 6.07 has a seven in it so it's get up time Hmm

They've both been fed & had advent chocs, I've got back in bed with my cuppa for a bit.

Fillybuster · 08/12/2011 14:46

Madmouse....and breathe......Sending you lots of love xx

LaT - I should have remembered to come to you first for shopping help :) I really like the patterned (not cath kidston) ones you found, but they don't have Ari's size....and I'm Shock at the cost! DH sent me back to the shops to return the beads I bought for T for the same reason.....

simpson · 09/12/2011 21:04

Hi all

How is everybody doing??

M had her first ever nativity play today (joint with reception kids) and half way through decided she was not the centre of attention so got up from her seat on mat and went and joined the kids on the stage
Blush Blush

She got a standing ovation Blush Luckily her teachers thought it was funny so just left her there....

I am soooo going to have my hands full with her when she is a teenager, I just know it!!!

AngeChica · 10/12/2011 09:02

Hope N is on the mend now

madmouse · 10/12/2011 09:16

Simps you never know - she may be all getting it out of her system now!

Ange, yes he's fine, just coughing still and finishing his ABs xx

latrucha · 12/12/2011 20:08

Hello all. Sorry I haven't been about much. This will explain it. Any suggestions gratefully received.

How's things now Madmouse?

Simpson - they do say they can get it out of their systems. Ladybird is still going strong BTW. Smile

madmouse · 13/12/2011 08:55

Hi LaT - you probably don't like this answer but it sounds like jsut one of those things. I know you like to understand/have explanations for things but who knows what goes on in those little brains sometimes.

Nathan has done similar a few times and I always reckoned it was when his world expanded and he got a bit scared of how big it was. Refusing to change the routine and riding it out always worked. Does he have a little night light? It's a common age for fear of the dark.

Nathan and I are ok now - Nathan is just coughing now, mostly in the mornings. I'm doing ok too x
