Happy Mothers' Day, you Evil Selfish Hags!
I have been alone with my daughter, no husband and no dog, since Friday, hence minimal online contact. It's been quite nice really. They are due back later today. Squeaks's gift to me is that of learning to climb - EVERYTHING!
She is now doing pretty much everything bar walking unaided. Yesterday I left her on the floor of the livingroom and came back five minutes later to find her lying on the sofa, remote control in hand. I kid you not! The Bumbo was suspiciously near the edge of the sofa. And last night she tried to climb out of the bath, after flipping on to her belly and then up on to her knees surfer stylee. She is currently climbing my leg in an attempt to get the laptop. In fact, the safest place to leave her at the moment is not on the floor or bed/sofa but standing at the edge of one of the above, cruising around it.
cunty, despite the lack of teeth, I decided to start getting Squeaks used to gum brushing last week. Mainly because of what she has been eating. I bought a first stage toothbrush from Tesco and dug out the tube of Milk Teeth I got in one of the many pregnancy freebies packs. She wasn't too bothered, but did decide to take control of the brush.
Thansk for all the lovely tales of lochia, shit and boak. I feel lucky that the worst Squeaks did this week was project a milk feed all the way down the back of my nice woollen jumper after a hard coughing fit.
We are both coughing now. Just what I need for going back to work.
Welcome back alps. So sorry again for the meet fail last week.
I'm very impressed by how in control and active all the more recent FESH arrivals are. I think it's definitely the way forward - get out and about while they are little, because they become real PITAs as they get older
I have been keeping an eye out for Medee news. I think cass's words on PESH are bang on. It brings out the lioness in us all. I found myself shedding a tear at the latest update. Poor wee family. But soon this will all be a distant memory and she too will have a little monkey keeping her on her toes.
silv try not to stress too much over weaning. Yes, always be prepared with two spoons. (and a third and fourth for when the first two end up on the floor/in the dog). Remember that even if he's not keen on one thing, it doesn't mean it's not working. My little madam is not keen on the weaning standards carrot and banana. But at six months she was stealing and sucking away on roast parsnips and french fries. Pears are really handy. I can't stand them myself, but a ripe one can be pureed in seconds with a fork and they go down well here.
right, I have a million things to do before returning to the real world tomorrow so I'm off to drink tea.
