Oh fanta what an image!!! Bet it was truly priceless.

Have spent this afternoon cremating in the kitchen steaming carrots. Tho I must be the only person who forgets to switch the steamer on. FFS. Anyways, have pureed them using the cooled water from the steamer. So do I introduce carrot tmw with babyrice & bm or just straight carrot? As I'm home alone tonight I might whizz up some apples. Once I've scraped the carrot off the walls!! Those hand whizzers are dangerous non?

SilverSky · 02/04/2011 17:13

Yep with a spoon. Tho he wants to hold the spoon! May have to give one for holding and one for feeding!

Didn't know I could use regular milk. Such an arse pumping. Takes ages to squeeze about 2oz out!!!!! Gone are the days of 7oz in 20mins!

I'm gonna try him on straight carrot tmw. No doubt this will be something he is allergic to and he'll spend my mothers day lunch vomming so we have to come home!

Casserole · 02/04/2011 17:37

Fanny - spell it out. Or at least I'd have to in this house. Or end up glowering into bloody Weetabix or something.

Silver I expressed this morning for the first time in about 2.5 years - 2oz in 15 mins, so depressing, I too used to be able to do much more than that! Will it speed up I wonder? Hope so.

CUNextTuesday · 02/04/2011 17:41

silv is up to you if you use cow juice - as you are aware I'm fairly lackadaisical relaxed about Rastus's food intake, but it's such a small amount. I believe the guidance is that it shouldn't be given as the main source of milk but is ok as an ingredient.

I'm moving in with you if that's the menu!!!!

Do I need to do owt to the purees once defrosted? If I make some apple up later, can I leave some in fridge overnight for use tmw?

CUNextTuesday · 02/04/2011 17:56

yes, it'll be fine. Apple will keep forever cos it's quite acidic.

I am rubbish at expressing. I think she feeds so much that my boobs just run out of steam for anything but baby. If I want to leave her at any point I'm either going to have to prepare weeks in advance. Or just give formula.

SilverSky · 02/04/2011 18:49

tues wot about the carrot that's in the process of freezing? Should have kept some aside for tmw. Doh.

muse once the feeding settles down and it will. Seems like it won't I know. It will. Then you'll be able to express and not worry about denying Bob her grub.

CUNextTuesday · 02/04/2011 18:52

Just take it out of the freezer and pop it in the fridge - it'll be fine for tomorrow. Otherwise, defrost in the mocrowave for about 2-3 mins, give it a stir, add babby rice if you want, then stick back in m/w for about 20 secs or until good and hot. By the time you've wrestled MB into a position for eating it'll be cold cool enough to eat.

CUNextTuesday · 02/04/2011 18:55

Cant believe muse is thinking she might Go Out before the babby is at school! Can you believe that everyone?

Thx Tues! You are weaning font of knowledge. Shall I play safe and go for one icecube tmw?

Muser · 02/04/2011 20:37

Je suis une bad mother. I'm sat here drinking cava while feeding the baby as well.

Casserole · 02/04/2011 20:47

As long as it's not Diamond White, Muse Wink

I feel so wretched for Medee . I can't even begin to imagine the fear and impotence.

Backinthebox · 02/04/2011 20:58

I have a photo of Clucky somewhere feeding LittleChick while knocking back a stein of beer. Beermug was nearly as big as Littlechick!

SilverSky · 02/04/2011 21:45

Cassie wot news of Meds haz you?

Muser · 02/04/2011 21:54

There's an update from Medee on the PESH thread Silvs.

Casserole · 02/04/2011 22:36

Yes - just what's on the PESH thread.

My clever girl is glugging merrily away on her very first bottle of EBF as I type! About 90ml down and still going strong. Hurrah... Grin

Casserole · 02/04/2011 22:37

Meanwhile, it has just taken 2 of us adults 45 minutes to decipher the swimming lessons rebooking form for ministew. I swear it would be easier if they gave us the enigma code to crack every frigging half term...

SilverSky · 02/04/2011 22:41

I've been to PESHland - ta for that.

Really hope med's EA is diagnosed toute suite.

cassia congrats on the bottle consumption! Fab!

When I was over in PESH I spied that Score is top of the pops!! Blimey we ESHs are shifting through that there list eh!?

CUNextTuesday · 02/04/2011 23:48

QQ what's the best way to clean Rastus's teeth? I've been giving him one of those bristley things to chow down on, but I'm scared that soon i will have to attempt to use toothpaste. I know already that it will provoke a meltdown. Any tips?
