AlpinePony · 21/03/2011 13:27

I got an Oxytocin nasal spray from the docs - didn't do anything. :( I'd spend hours pumping (and spraying) and my biggest ever yield was 3 oz in a 24 hour period. I looked at some photos at the weekend of when I was starving my baby breastfeeding and it's horrifying. :(

Muser · 21/03/2011 13:41

That must have been a miserable time Alps.

Cosmosis · 21/03/2011 13:52

:( alps

Is it nice to have them back, or do you feel like sending them away again for more peace & quiet??

Also forgot to mention I seem to be winning a ginger baybee after all.

AlpinePony · 21/03/2011 14:39

Cossie It's brilliant. Grin He's such a happy little chap and we had a lovely weekend. Gave him his first bit of haggis last night and he pulled a face, but ate it anyway. Gave him his first prawn today, he pulled a face, but ate it anyway. Likes his grub does that boy! Wink He is so unbelievably ticklish and laughs and giggles every time we do the "this little piggy went to market".

Anyway, will be getting P&Q next week when I go to the UK.

My ginger baybee has totally failed, he's just kind of mousey.

Cosmosis · 21/03/2011 16:59
Grin
SilverSky · 21/03/2011 20:41

Everyone got sunshine? Hope so! Nag went out starkers and was very happy and scratched himself senseless and shifted some of that grotty winter coat.

I've been told to keep Mothers Day free and we have lunch booked somewhere. Let's hope MB does not shriek the whole way through it. Let's also hope it's family friendly place so as not to upset all the other diners with MBs vocal ability or by me feeding if needed.

Okiecokie · 21/03/2011 21:30

We had sunshine silv and will have tomorrow too apparently. Nice one.

Anyone there watching OBEM? Scary teeth..

CluckyKate · 21/03/2011 21:33

Fret not Silv - on Mother's Day there will be at least one person at every table who knows what you're going through Grin.

Hooray for HI taking the initiative and getting something booked tho....MrCluck will no doubt leave it 'til the day and we will spend a joyous afternoon treking from pub to pub looking for somewhere that isn't fully booked and end up in some awful shithole. Our first Valentine's day was spent in a Beefeater (yes, I'm a snob) because he didn't realise everywhere would be so busy Hmm

Okiecokie · 21/03/2011 21:35

We won't be going out for Mother's day. I don't want to pay over the odds for sub standard food. However, I do expect to be cooked for and waited on all day at home Smile

CUNextTuesday · 21/03/2011 22:30

Whereas i expect nothing of the kind and fully anticipate the only card i will get is whatever rastus makes at the childminders

SilverSky · 22/03/2011 06:19

okie I saw the "teeth" on last week's trailer for this week! I thought the same!!

I think being as this is my first Mothers Day hence the effort. I should think that going forward it will be a meal at home. Valentines Day always is cos I can't bear a) the overinflated prices b) the weirdness of places only being filled with couples.

We've had a rotten night. I've been feeling bit iffy. HI is crap at sympathy or decent advice. His words were "Go and see a Dr as I think it's psychological with you". Nice. The rotten night refers to MB. Random crying out that started at 130, then a car fight outside our window at 230 and then MB progressed to full blown crying at 330 which was attacked with a nappy change, White noise, stripping down to a vest/bag combo and calpol. Seemed to work when he finally went down at 430. All was well Until 530. I resisted the urge to feed him. He's gone weeks without so not starting again now otherwise viscious circle. Really hope it's all teeth related. Not that I can see any. All I know is I'm feeling like shit due to aching body and odd nausea (def not diffed unless it's an immaculate conception) and on top I'm knackered.

SilverSky · 22/03/2011 06:22

*Cat not car!!!!

CUNextTuesday · 22/03/2011 08:19

Anyone from the SW London Massive going on the TUC rally on Saturday? Me and Rastus are going a-agitatin if anyone fancies it?

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 22/03/2011 08:38

Our beautiful little bundle of joy cried/screamed/sat and stared from 1am to 4am. JB and I argued at 2am, 3am and 7am. Bear shit himself right up his back and even in his hair. Happy dayzzz. I went to the creche via the ciggie shop. Shoot me.

Mother's day? Oh so you mean a double load of washing/dishwasher/hoovering/putting stuff away on the monday. Awesome.

I really want to stop fighting with JB but right now if some cad dropped me an insincere line and a compliment I would be off! :(

PollyPoo · 22/03/2011 08:53

Silv I had visions of transformer-style cars scrapping in your street. Smile

Alps sorry to hear you and JB not getting on. Me and TG were exactly the same for the first few months year of Boo's life. It does get better I promise. And I can confirm that second time around has much less traumatic and we actually still like each other. 'mazin!

Cosmosis · 22/03/2011 09:23

yy to it getting better, a friend of mine told me how very nearly they came to divorce in the first year after having a child, they are now 6 years down the line and all fine.

For about the first time in my life I am actually looking forward to mothers day this year. Mind you, partly becuase I am probably spending it out on my mtb with a friend Grin

SilverSky · 22/03/2011 12:19

polly get this, HI FLEW out of bed in case it was one of our cats. However MB can cry all he likes and HI won't shift for nuttin'.

Alp I hear you on the divorce front. Childrearing is testing. We seem to be muddling our way thru it. Some days are awful and others are better. I'm sposed to be riding later. HI has realised that a happier me equals quieter life for him. I bet that I don't go riding cos he's working despite saying he'd be home.

I've got a shed load of laundry to do and no motivation. I want to sit on the sofa and do sod all except eat cake. Alas no cake indoors.

One of my NCT pals has started weaning. Sproggo is not quite 5 mths and in th last few days following the weaning, sproggo has developed eczema. Link? Or just one of those things?

Oh and I heart Metanium for rescuing MBs butt from the terrors of severe nappy rash. Virtually all gone!!!

PollyPoo · 22/03/2011 13:42

Sorry Silv I did laugh at HI and the cats. Yay for metanium - it is miracle stuff eh?! I have to stop eating cake/cookies/sweets etc. I have put on two and a half pounds in two weeks. Sad What I want to know is WHY did God/Alan/powers that be make all the things I love bad for me? I gave up the fags, I drink very little now (comparatively speaking), surely I should be allowed to binge on cake and not turn into a blimp? Harrumph.

AlpinePony · 22/03/2011 16:13

Work has just offered us all free hotel usage for the next 6 weeks. AIBU to take some bubble bath and my baybee and leave? Wink

PollyPoo · 22/03/2011 19:28

Go for it Alpro - I'd bite their hands off. Grin

SilverSky · 22/03/2011 19:30

Like you even need to ask! Pack thy suitcase!!!

CurlyCasper · 22/03/2011 19:54

Well hello , that?s the husband at work and the baby in bed, everyone fed who has to be, and so I am finally sitting down, attempting to catch up here. Apologies for silence ? I?ve been having a bit of a low, not helped by my body being pretty much back to the way it was when I was signed off work during pregnancy. And I have to go back to work properly in less than a fortnight Sad

Catch up ? sorry if I miss anyone. I am trying!

boxy sorry about the shitty day you had recently ? hope all is smoothing itself out and you are having a great break.

alps Glad your lad enjoyed his haggis! And deffo take up hotel offer.

silv Metanium is the shiz. I?m always amazed at how quickly it works. (I now need to find something for Squeaker?s legs ? all rough spots from crawling and climbing.) Glad you and reggie managed a get-together.

cass If you're in the spa changing room, get a move on and come and join us! We want all the details during a good Jacuzzi soak. Lovely piccie of your little one ? massive congratulations and always nice to welcome another ESH girl to even up the numbers. Can we have more info over here or in the knitting club? Hope you are healing well. x

honey How are you? Long time no hear from you.

cossie I didn?t realise you were bilingual. Will Artie be too? Smile Well done on ginger baybee. I have lost that contest Sad. She?s just a dull blonde at the mo, but hair is growing rapidly and looking very frizzy curly

cunty Hope you had a lovely bday. Is the boy better now? How are you enjoying your Wednesdays off? Only asking cause I join that club soon.

fanny Bah to the droid. As pol said ? was typical seeing as we?d only just been talking about it a couple of days before. If it helps, I was in the same situation at same time (of course, not my first since birth). I have managed to escape event near ILs weekend, so no longer plan to come a knocking at your door to keep my sanity. Not that I was actually going to stalk you, of course

muse Hope Scotland break is lovely ? will give Bob a chance to pick up the accent Wink Did you ever get any final answers from the hospital? Sounds like a horrible experience, but glad BobKate seemed well enough in herself throughout.

kate - sorry to hear about toddler meltdown and PND suggestion. Have you had your appointment yet? It does just sound like you have a lot to cope with. But as a few of us know, PND can be straightened up reasonably quickly.

Toddler sympathies to okes too. I?m rapidly going off the idea of having a toddler. Can I not send her away for a few years? She?s crazy enough as it is. Currently practising her Exorcist voice.

Right, this is starting to look like a post from a ?cuddle everyone? babydust thread, so a quick update from me and I?ll bugger off.

My little Gremlin has had her first shot at nursery. Was only for an hour and all the other babies were asleep so she ended up outside with the older kids. So hardly a trial of actual nursery. Going the same time this week, so expect more of the same, but we have a meeting with the owner while she?s in there. I think I should book her in for some half days before she does full ones. I don?t want to pay for extra days, but also don?t want her first full day to be one when SFF and I are both at work.

Hope all is still go for alps meets next week. Am well Envy of the big Lahndan meet. I even googled how long it would take to drive down, but at more than three hours each way, it just can?t happen. Boo. I had such a good time with fanny and poo the other weekend, and meeting iggy has always been lovely, that I love the idea of meeting for ESHs. But I?m still being a tart on the local ?mum dating? scene too. Wink

FannyPriceless · 22/03/2011 21:00

Hi caspy hun. [major sarcasm emoticon] Wink

You may of course stalk visit me any time. Thanks for the droid sympathy. I have handled it very badly. I seem to have completely forgotten what to do to contain the flow.Blush It is like being 13 all over again.

So sorry for the body fail. Anything that can be done? More drugs?

silv / polly Loving the transformer car fight image.

CUNextTuesday · 22/03/2011 21:27

casp yeah, compressed hours is totally exhausting but one day off a week is lovely. Rastus still has a nasty cough but is otherwise much better thanx. And for the rough spots - you cannot go wrong with E45. I slather rastus in it and it works almost overnight. Use after a bath instead of talc maybe once or twice a week.

Sorry i am for your body woes. It must be v depressing. I only have tennis elbow and tendonitis in my knee and that makes me miserable enough.

PollyPoo · 23/03/2011 07:33

Morning all. I have been up since 4.40am. Grrr. BB was moaning, groaning and thrashing about for an hour and a half. There wasn't anything wrong and she wasn't really awake - I changed her nappy, she wasn't hungry or windy. She just kept me on my toes by shrieking intermittently so I'd have to get up and soothe her, put dummy back in etc. FFS - TG did the late feed last night so I could get a good night. Now of course, I am up and getting Boo ready for preschool and BB is sparked out and doesn't want to wake up. I am tempted to go and get in the bath quickly - she seems to have some kind of inbuilt sensor that knows as soon as I get in, and she wakes up screaming. Hmm

How is everyone else this morning? I wonder how Moo's night went after the sleep dr visit.
