Well done on the slings ladies! can't say its something i've ever wanted. I like pushing her in the buggy!
Im 95% sure we have a top tooth cutting here! explains why she's been a bit moany the poor thing.
I took cash and a ford focus as a trade in for my car and sold the focus this morning! I should look for a job in car sales! so far i've bought a new iron (the big steam generator one) and i have a new suite of furniture coming on tuesday!! its GORGEOUS!! its one of the ones where the couch has i big quarter circle as one cushion and then a big square as the other and its really deep and you just sink into it and then 2 lovely big chairs. Got a brilliant deal on them too! have seen a car but will have to wait for the bank draft to clear before i look at it so hopefully its not gone by then!
Brill news in A liking her room cakes!

Gah! you beat me then mlic!

Dylan is mr moany pants this morning, Ive given him a sweetcorn ring to keep him quiet, had a bad night again too.
I think its his teeth so I cant change the routine yet so its really hard at the mo.

In other good news, we're going to get his next stage car seat to last him til hes 4, we're thinking about getting it on ebay, local pickup.
Theres a maxi cosi one which is on £15 and has half an hour left, shes assured its been in no accidents which is the main thing.
Hope we get it!

Its DPs neice's birthday today, shes 2 so we're going to see her today.

Thanks for the advice mlic :)
Ive read alot into the rear/forward facing seats and decided to go with forward facing.
We won the seat on ebay but he wont be going into right now, Im going to wait at least a month til hes completely outgrown his current one.

morning all

Nice one on the car sale kk Smile

I keep meaning to say that re car seats mlic. We have F in a rear-facing one still now and probably will til he's 4 (the seat he's in should last that long). We've got friends in Sweden where all under 4s are in rear-facing seats and they think it's really odd that we don't here in the UK.

Sounds as tho you got a bit of sleep there mlic. can you work out anything which is making w sleep better/not sleep?

you ok there tsc?

the weird thing about A's weight chulita and dylthan is that altho she's only 'small' (compared to the others on here!) she must be long as she's easily filling 6-9 month sleep suits (she's only 6.5months) and many of her clothes are 9-12.

Aurelia is certainly keen on her new room - going down to sleep as soon as she's put in her cot (she was pretty good anyway but this is literally immediate). She's still waking for a feed though but is def hungry as she's taking a proper feed at 11.30pm, 2/3am ish and then 6am but she's then going back down - til 8.30am this morning which is when I slept to as dh got up with F Smile. It's not at all bad but it'll be nice when she drops that middle of the night feed.

Oh and looked over the house next door yday. It's incredible, so quirky (eg 4 sets of stairs inc the ones down to the cellar) and parts of it are even older than ours. It's 6 bedrooms and 3 reception rooms which all need tons of renovation work which i'd relish but it increases my feeling that it's not the right time for us financially as I don't want to feel pressure to going back to work full-time as a result. It's lovely tho Sad

She did say she might end up keeping it and selling in a year's time instead which might make things a little more realistic for us.

Right better haul my arse into the kitchen as i've promised waffles to our house guest.

I'm sure i've missed off lots of things i should reply to on here so will post more post-waffles Grin

Jacob is the same cakes, he's only 18lb's but is in 9-12 or 12-18 month clothes already. I think he's just long as he really doesn't look that chunky.

DesperateHousewife20 · 20/02/2011 10:03

Im not putting him in the new one til hes outgrown this one.

We're taking Dylan swimming this morning, need to leave in half an hour and Im not dressed yet!

Chulita · 20/02/2011 10:25

mlic I'm with you on the rear-facing, I'm a bit of a rear-facing warrior L is still rear-facing and will be for as long as poss and we just bought S the same seat.

dh you're a proper ebay star aren't you! I really, really want to take our 2 swimming, keep trying to convince DH but so far he's not been convinced. I think I need to get everything ready and just day we're going instead of asking him if he wants to.

cake I need to crack on and get a waffle maker, I love them and you keep reminding me about them :) That house sounds lovely! I hope she does hold off for you.

Chulita · 20/02/2011 10:28

I finished that book too Hmm not sure I liked it tbh

CakeandRoses · 20/02/2011 11:36

i'm about 2/3 of the way thru the book chulita and i don't really like it either, unless it changes it seems very much like all that's bad about human nature Sad

what are we going to do - have a separate book group thread and post to it as and when or real time?

what r/f car seat do you have for L, chulita? we have this one for F but it's pretty big and v expensive and we're not sure if we should get the same one again for A.

afternoon ladies, i know people in sweden too cakes i think its mad that regulations are so different! think we should be the same. L is forward facing but in a reclined position i just couldnt get him in the other one he kicked off so much i struggled to get his arms in! we do still use it when he is sleepy and wont put up a fight!
been at a trade show all morning all crafts, sewinging and knitting stuff my heads fried so we are going for tea out Grin

Chulita · 20/02/2011 15:32

I've never been in a book club before so I don't know what you're supposed to do once you've read the book Confused

That's the same seat we've got cake , we got our second one off the 'snowflakes' website cos they had a deal on. We know we're not stopping at two so it makes sense for us to have both of them. The next one will need the bigger seat once L's about 4 so she can move up iyswim. It got really high safety scores which is why we chose it and stuck with it.

Stac2011 · 20/02/2011 16:29

my girl has her first tooth yay! She was so crabbit and her cheeks are bright red. But its cut through the skin. How long till its up? (you'd think i'd never had kids)

I havent read my sisters keeper was going to wait till the next book. How does a book group work?

WhatSheSaid · 20/02/2011 16:55

Interesting info abput carseats. When A (who is 3) was a baby I was told to turn her carseat round to forward facing when she was 1. When I went to pick up G's carseat (we get a free one here) the advice had changed - they said keep her rear-facing till she is 13kg - not sure what that is in lbs, but A is only 14 kg now at 3 and a quarter.

WhatSheSaid · 20/02/2011 17:23

Oh and I couldn't find My Sisters Keeper - thought I had it in house somewhere. Am keen to join in book group though, maybe next book!
Those asking how we do it, I guess we start a separate thread to discuss it on? Or do it on this one?

Woodlands · 20/02/2011 19:00

I really want to keep J rear facing when he grows out of his seat (though it is a group 0+ seat so should do up to 12kg). However I don't know whether I'll be able to get a rear-facing seat to fit a Ford Fiesta with no Isofix. I think we'll have to go to one of the specialist places and see what they say. I think the Britax 2-Way Elite may work, but not sure.

DesperateHousewife20 · 20/02/2011 19:19

stac- well done R on first tooth! Hope Dylans is here soon :)

chulita I love ebay, you can get designer stuff really cheap!

memphis83 · 20/02/2011 19:33

woodlands i went to kiddicare which has loads of seats and i tried them all that were rear facing in my fiesta and couldnt get one, they were out of stock of that britax one though so thats one i didnt try! i had to have a maxi cosy stage 0 so i could get the base as my seatbelts were so short! plus when they tried to fit a rear face i had to have passanger seat so far forward i couldnt get in the front Grin
ooh im full we went harvester as i love it there, and stuffed myself stupid, couldnt fit in a pudding though! L had some of the salad bar bits and turned his nose up at it all, has anyone got any baby forks? ive been to so many shops near me and they only have the metal toddler one, he will take food from a cake fork but obviously its metal so i cant give him it to attempt to feed himself! presumed you could get plastic ones but having no luck!
