Sorry to hear about Jacob beibg so poorly Pootle - glad things sound like they're on the up now. When will they be able to scan his kidneys?

cupcakes if you're stuck in London, do you fancy a meet-up? Is your DH okay out there? How are you feeling?

Yesterday was truly a test of my patience with the three of them and I'm afraid I failed. Shit day. Shit mum :( L was really, really miserable after injections, despite giving him the normally wonderful Pink Medicine and DD2 was a nightmare. Here's hoping today's a better day.

gallic doc thinks my last lot of bleeding was a period (though I have to say I'm not entirely convinced due to much reduced volume compared to my usual periods (if I can remember back that far!) and no pains (normally crippled in pain), but he was clear that it's a good thing there was a break in the bleeding as it's continuous bleeding they're worried about. Last two I had no period until I stopped BF, so was hoping for the same again this time.

Fuzzywood · 31/03/2011 11:25

Morning, what a miserable day. I was hoping to get out for a nice long walk today but the weather is pants. May just go anyway and get wet Smile.
Sorry to hear you had a rubbish bay Bubba hope its going better today.

Hope everything is ok Cupcakes sounded from the news yesterday as though the president was giving in to some of the protesters demands so here's hoping that settles things down out there.

Just put another picture of Evan up, he does this really cute shy smile thing which just melts my heart (even at 4am Hmm )

RunningKatie · 31/03/2011 12:24

Been to the Docs for drugs for the thrush, apparently it could be ductal hence the burning ouchness after feeding. I keep telling myself BF helps burn fat so it's worth it as well as being good for DD.

NCT coffee this afternoon has now been changed to NCT meet in the pub as our hostess is poorly. :)

Love the pic Fuzzy, Evan's so cute.

Hope today's a better day Bubba.

Must dash, it has stopped raining at last so the washing can go out!

LadyBuzz · 31/03/2011 16:12

fuzzy he is lovely very cute!

bubba I had a day like that on Monday, DH came in I chucked (not literally) Kali at him and walked out. She was a doll on Tuesday though which helped!

running hope the drugs help.

We had a really lovely moment earlier this week Kali was in her pram 'chatting' away and grinning like a mad woman at nothing - I like to think it was my mam come for a visit. It made me Grin anyway!

Put a new pic of Kali on too!

Fuzzywood · 31/03/2011 16:50

Lady she's lovely. Its so nice that they're getting into the grinning stage makes the crap times a little easier to cope with.
Hope the drugs sort you out Running and if they don't that the pub does.

Just been hoovering and was wondering why it seemed to be chucking out more stuff than it was picking up so pulled it apart and found a biro stuck in it Confused how the feck did that get there

Trying to not buy lots of clothes for DD today, just had the new Vertbaudet catalogue and some of it is so cute

Evan was somewhat less cute earlier on when he threw up on my boob whilst feeding, lovely, don't know if I cope with the glamour of motherhood much longer Grin

RockLover · 31/03/2011 17:45

Hi all, I seem to be very crap at keeping up with this thread at the moment, so sorry about that.

First off, pootle so sorry to hear about Jacob, glad that he is on teh mend and the drs are on the case for him. Cupcakes, I thought you may have to delay going home, things in the whole of the Middle East are so precarious at the moment it's rather scary. It must be so frustrating for you that you can't get home to see your cats and get Jesse back into a routine.

Also sorry to hear that Xavier is having a hard time at the moment Crysty, so many people have had great results from cranial osteopathy, so I'm sure it will work for you too.

Someone mentioned having a period, I thought that I was getting mine, bled lightly for 2 days so started taking my pill then nada, flipping bleeding stopped! Thought I better carry on taking the pill, not sure whether it will work, but I'm sure after after a week I should be covered. Besides, I'm too knackered to even contemplate sex at the moment lol!

George is doing well, although the "putting him to bed at a decent time" plan isn't working. He refuses to go down in his cot for more than 10 mins until he knows DP and I are in bed. So his bed time is still around 11pm, however, I am going to persevere and try and put him down at around 8pm tonight and see how that goes. It doesn't help that the evening is still his screamy time, so he doesn't really relax till later on.

Not looking forward to Easter as I will be doing loads of to-ing an fro-ing between Devon and Oxfordshire for DD to see my mum and dad and then spend a week with her dad in London. It won't exactly be restful as I will be staying with my parents for a week then driving back to Devon when DD is with her Dad, then drive back up to collect her at the end of the week. I will have to drive DD and George all by myself for 4 hours or so (more if you count nappy and feed stops) and I am dreading it :(.

Anyway, a certain little boy is calling me so I best go and sort him out, hope everyone has a lovely evening.

saltnvinigarcrips · 31/03/2011 18:18

rock I have the same problem with Henry. He doesn't usually 'go to bed' until around 11:30 ish but I think that's because I haven't even thought about getting him in a routine (bad mother emotion)! But I tried yesterday and will persevere tonight. He is as good as gold through the night now and lets me get at least 7 hours sleep :)
Went to the new Costa coffee in Ealing this afternoon meeting a rl mum and Henry did a massive poo so think he christened the changing facilities Shock It was truly awful. Poo everywhere - up his arms and his legs - no idea how it got everywhere but I think the anti-biotics I'm on have upset his stomach a bit. Not sure whether or not to keep on taking them but doc says they are fine for breastfeeding ? Confused
Sorry to hear you had a crap day bubba Hope L is being better for you today. I'm slight concerned tomorrow might be a bad day as had a voicemail message from the headmaster's secretary about my returning to work so not feeling too optimistic I will get the terms I proposed :(
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and mothers day if i'm not on here again before then. So nice that I'm a mother :) Might buy myself a little present from Henry lol.

travispickles · 31/03/2011 19:13

Hi all - well I keep losing my messages (twice today) so feeling Angry at stupid computer. Last time wrote a longish one and the computer decided to reboot itself. Grrr.....
Here also 11ish bedtime but sleeps till 6ish so no complaints. Although last night she threw up everywhere, and even though I fed her afterwards she was probabkly still hungry and woke at 4am to be fed. But am a lazy cow and can't be bothered to get her in a routine yet following a baby led program :) so will be 11pm til she is ready!
Right - chinese takeaway (there goes all the effort to shift the 'junk in my trunk'
Thinking of you all - especially cupcakes in limbo.
Lovrely pics of Kali and Evan - little cuties the lot of em!

HubbaHubbaBubba · 31/03/2011 19:43

Lovely pics of Evan and Kali - soo sweet.

Very Envy of all this talk of long sleeps - L goes down about 9pm but still feeds every 2.5-3 hrs and still won't take the bottle, so it's been down to me which is getting a wee bit knackering to say the least. Currently trying to ignore DD2 who is shouting and running around like a loon trying to get to sleep upstairs, while L is trying to cram his fist into his mouth next to me. Resorted to Kew Gardens again today (thank heavens for nice weather again) - there are worse things I suppose. Exercised extreme patience today. I am officially A Saint Hmm :o Hmm - Well, maybe not quite, but L was less unsettled and I tried to convince DD2 and myself Shock :o that I still love her, and only rewarded good behaviour. Blinking exhausting though.

gallicgirl · 31/03/2011 20:58

Hey ladies, how's it going?

Poor Hubba needing sleep. I don't know how people manage with second and subsequent babies. Hats off to you because just one is hard work.

As sad as I am about not managing breast-feeding, I really wouldn't go back to the sleepless nights. My mental health is a lot better for the FF.

Travis we don't really have a routine yet at all although I have started getting DD up around 9:30 or she would sleep til well after 10. Before you all think I'm bragging, she doesn't sleep before 1am and I am still falling over tired today. I was going to bath her before next feed but don't think I have energy to do it by myself. (DP at work :( )

Had a lovely meet-up with my NCT mums. We're looking forward to future meet-ups in the summer so we can take kiddies to the park/sit in garden and soak up the rays. Grin

Crystyclear · 31/03/2011 23:15

my much ignored moggy thinks he's in seventh heaven; for the first time in 7 weeks he doesn't have to share my lap with a squeaking baby. DS is asleep in moses basket and has been for 2 hours - granted there was 4 hours of attempts to go to bed and crying/puking etc beforehand, but got there in the end.

still didn't manage to get dinner tho, as 9pm feels too late for real food - that is unless haribo counts as real food? Grin

glad i'm not the only one struggling with bedtime routines!

katie get well soon - that sounds painful!

ladyb and fuzzy lovely pics! Xavi and I have long rambling "chats" too - it's so sweet and smiles lots too.

rock GL with all the easter travelling. let me know when it all calms down and we'll go for a good plod about dartmoor.

am beginning to feel Envy at all your NCT meet-ups and wondering why i never joined!

right - am going to attempt going to bed and reading a book!

Fuzzywood · 01/04/2011 15:21

Blimey I'm tired, after last week's brilliant sleeping Evan has regressed to feeding every 2.5/ 3 hours. Bubba I'm feeling your pain! Just had 4 2 year olds here most of the morning as well which was my own fault for inviting them but hasn't helped with the tiredness.

Haven't even attempted bed time yet, debating trying tonight but I'm on my own all weekend so not sure if I'm brave enough. Desperately trying to remember how I did it with DD who was in her own room at this age and slept from 10 until about 5 or 6am.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

HubbaHubbaBubba · 01/04/2011 16:22

Fuzzy I'm sorry you're going through the short sleeps again, hoping Evan is just having a growth spurt (do they have one around now??). Did bedtime on my own again last night with my mentalists well-behaved DCs Hmm. Def. get yourself a glass of Wine ready!

Just tried to take DD1 to a birthday party this afternoon. Only problem is it's tomorrow [DOH!]. Luckily she took it on the chin and the promise of one of Mummy's Special Homemade Hot Chocolates With All The Works (cheapskate? Moi??!) did the trick. Hey ho, at least it wasn't supposed to be yesterday!

HubbaHubbaBubba · 01/04/2011 16:45

He just laughed for the first time!! A proper gurgly chuckle :o :o [big time in love emoticon] :o :o

Fuzzywood · 01/04/2011 18:00

Bubba love it wrong day for a partyGrin not that I can talk I forgot I was going out with the girls last Saturday until half an hour before the table was booked and only remembered because one of them called me.
So jealous that you've got a proper laugh, we've had screaming most of the day

Pootle78 · 01/04/2011 23:38

bubba lucky you with laughing, I can't wait for that, I just have mardy boys at the moment, Jacob and dh!

Running hope the antibiotics are working for you.

Someone mentioned Aunt flo, I am seriously p*d off, Jacob is 8 weeks 2 days and am currently on number 3, yes that's right, my third! Is this normal? I have been expressing every day at least 6 times a day since he was born and also had him feeding from me so knarked to say the least! I have also found out that you can each too much chocolate and cake and have managed to put on 7lb since coming home from hospital!

Crysty I am the same about meeting up, our parent craft classes never socialised and I am getting bored, we walk into town, we go to the odd Sure Start group, I really need to investigate mother and baby groups in the town, that and I need all my friends who are due in May (3 of them) to hurry up and give birth so we can start our own mother and baby group!!!

And yes haribo count as food, but then things like that are the reason I have put on half a stone, so probably best not to listen to me!

Right, time to try and put my little dribble chops to bed, can't believe he is 2 months old tomorrow!

Fuzzywood · 02/04/2011 05:04

Crysty and Pootle have you looked to see if there are any NCT bumps and babies groups in your area? They were a good way of meeting new mums around this way, might be worth a try.

Evan slept from 8 until 11 and from about 12 until 4.40 so feeling somewhat better. Wish I'd tried bedtime now, maybe tonight. Right fingers crossed he goes back to sleep again now.

RunningKatie · 02/04/2011 07:49

morning ladies (and babies)

We're up and at it early this morning, got to drive to Cambridge for a 1pm wedding so Isobel's had her first breakfast and DP and I are just negotiating showers and packing the car.

Please don't let her scream the church down, that's all I ask.....

Have good weekends all xx

HubbaHubbaBubba · 02/04/2011 08:07

Have fun at the wedding running - we're heading to Cambidge tomorrow - I'll let you know if I can still hear Isobel's screams reverberating around the colleges :o

pootle glad I'm not the only one who's a)got periods and b)putting on weight despite copious amounts of breastfeeding ignoring the fact that because sainsbury's are selling mcvities choc digestives for a quid, I'm spending and eating my way through a fiver a week easily :o

Going to try to take DD1 to the birthday party today. Wish me luck Hmm :o

gallicgirl · 02/04/2011 17:56

Have fun with your trips out everyone.

I'm stuck at home with nothing but the prospect of cleaning the bathroom and making my own dinner to console me. DP at work until late but at least it's quiet.

Having a nightmare finding a shop that stocks DD's formula. We ordered one box from Tesco direct to see if it suited her (as part of a main shop) and then thought we'd be able to buy it from our local store which is pretty large. made a special trip out yesterday but they had none in stock and didn't know if/when they'd get more. Somehow managed to spend £70 on other bits we needed for dinner Hmm - hate shopping with DP!

Noticed that Asda online do it so drove over to nearest Asda today but they don't stock it instore. So I can now buy from my local pharmacy for £2 more than in other shops or pay for delivery from online store. Sooo annoying. Usually shop at Sainsburys so I've emailed them today to see if they will consider stocking it.

/rant.

Found out a couple of days ago that the neighbours in the flat upstairs are having another baby. They have 2DD aged around 6 and 8 and the new addition will be a boy so we're hoping they'll move house as the girls are bloody noisy sometimes. Can't see it though.

HubbaHubbaBubba · 03/04/2011 06:44

Happy Mother's Day one and all - especially first time mums - enjoy the cuddles today ignoring the almighty farts that some of your little ones might have woken you up with if you're very lucky like me and have a lovely, restful day :)

Crystyclear · 03/04/2011 13:59

Happy Mothers' Day everyone! DS was v. clever and sent me a present and a card! he even printed the labels from the computer. PFB? Oh Yes! Grin

however, the poor little mite has a cold and horrific snots. TMI alert... I decided to have a bath with him, figuring the steam would alleviate the snot, and whilst we're in there i fed him, as he was starving. Whilst he was eating... he went for the most massive of farts with full follow through.... bath tub of poomageddon.

we both had to get out and get in the shower instead. GrinGrin

hope you all have a lovely day and avoid being pooed on. x

gallicgirl · 03/04/2011 14:39

oh heck! I like the idea of having a bath with DD but didn't know what temperature to have the water. It's considerably cooler for DDs bath than it is for mine.

By myself today as DD at work (damn retail jobs). Had a card from my little monkey though Grin

I'm really looking forward to next year and have warned DP that I expect home-made cards and pasta necklaces.

Crystyclear · 03/04/2011 14:55

gallic i go for what i call elbow temparature. if i can put my elbow in and it's nicely warm, then he's ok too. he goes all tense and quiet if it's a bit too hot - i always lower him in feet first - so if it's too hot, i just add a bit of cold. i tend to have ten mins for myself first and when the water cools i'll bring him in with me. he's in moses basket by the bath before and after and i just fill it with warm towels.

it's usually lovely, even with the poomageddon, and it was very funny.
