Here we go, down the slippery slope of parenthood. Slippery thanks to the poos, wees, leaky boobs and goodness knows what else :o :o

We'll be here to hold each other's virtual hands through the tough nights and delightful days, and to laugh at each other's stories of comedy nappy changes Hmm, and the fear (or not?) of getting back in the saddle, and coating some cervixes just for the fun of it again!! :o

Crysty - here too, a lot of crying last night. Saskia sounds like a seagull, shrieking then quiet... She is being sung to sleep by dad as she is soooo tired but refusing to give in. Oh - boob time again. Back in a bit

saltnvinigarcrips · 18/03/2011 21:52

Well sorry to hear all those who had screaming babies last night. For a change my ds was an angel and slept solidly from 12:30 til 6am!!! I actually woke up at 5 in a panic and had to check his breathing (do this very regularly, out shopping, whenever he is sleeping at surprising times) Anyone else check their dc is still breathing on a regular basis or am i on the neurotic scale?
Bubba do you know at what age their weight starts to even out because surely they can't continue to put weight on like they do at the beginning for ever. My friend's son is 8 months now and weight 20 pounds. If ds was to continue putting current amount of weight on as he is now he would be 20 pounds at 4 months!!
Also I don't want to jump on the bandwagon but I love boggle too. Maybe someone should bring it along for when we meet in case we run out of conversation Hmm As if! Grin

salt I do it too sometimes to the point that I wake her up Grin
I did it with both DSs too!

Well we had the 8 week check and first immunisations yesterday, Kali screamed blue murder - she was not amused at all!
But flirted shamelessly with the rather lovey Dr and he got huge huge smiles off her.
She was most unsettled for a good few hours after and had her first dose of calpol which she also was not amused by!

jjkm lovely that you have both of your girls home, hope you are all settling in together nicely.

bubba the weight thing must be a worry for you, has the HV said when it was start to be classed as a problem? how were the DDs with their weight gain?

Never played boggle but I love scrabble, I'm a little bit addicted to it on FB!

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 19/03/2011 15:11

Gorgeously sunny and lovely day here, so sent the girls off with DH for a dads-only playgroup this morning (only a shame he didn't take L too!), then gathered up a picnic and we went to Bushy Park for a lovely picnic and run around in the nettles and deer shit Poor DD2 is now exhausted and asleep on the sofa, as is L, while I watch Scotland v Italy, and DH and DD1 are doing the weekly shop. Family Days don't get much better than this.

Oh, and I am simply fabulous at scrabble too :o :oWink :o :o

RunningKatie · 19/03/2011 21:23

DD puked all over our bed at 5am, I had been warning her that she needed to burp or stop feeding but she didn't listen to her all knowing Mummy did she? Poor DP got a swift kick from me so he could help hose her, me and the bed down, not really the homecoming the poor guy was hoping for.

The Doc gave me and DD some cream and gel for the thrush but it's making me feel like my nipples are on fire (sorry if TMI) when I put it on. During the day it's bearable but at night it's making me seriously consider the whole BF thing.

I've had some Wine tonight! Fabulous. Tomorrow we're off into town to find something for me to wear to a dead glam wedding, I'm sure everyone will be admiring DD rather than giving 2 hoots what I'm wearing!

Hope you're all having lovely weekends :)

Fuzzywood · 20/03/2011 21:03

Lovely weekend here, though DD has a horrible cold and cough, just waiting for everyone else to get it!
Went to the farm today, E's face when we got him out of the pushchair to see the goats was a picture.
Off to Centre Parcs tomorrow, 8 adults and 7 kids ranging from Evan to 2 years 10 months, it's going to be chaos. Was plannj g on packing today but didn't get it done so the whole day willbe mad tomorrow.
Hope everyone had good weekends.

saltnvinigarcrips · 20/03/2011 23:41

Lovely weekend here too. Well lovelyish i guess. Woke up on Friday feeling very under the weather so made an appointment with the doctors and turns out I have a virus :( Made DH take the day off work and actually ended up having a lovely day :) Saturday went into central london - warning central london on a saturday lunch time when looking for places to eat and be merry is not the most welcoming of places!! Started to panic as was beginning to think we wouldn't find anywhere to eat with (7 of us plus a pram!) before little man woke for a feed. Still, I think we tackled tube stations very well (proud emotion). Slightly upset by my experience in the toilets at Hyde Park though. The queue was massive so I just enquired of the lady infront of me if the disabled toilet was in use where she replied it was locked, then gave me a thourough eyeing up from top to bottom centering on my podgy belly and asked if I wanted to go in front of her because clearly my belly is so huge she thought I was still pregnant! (DH had pram outside). It was pretty mortifying and to make matters worse I said 'no thanks' when really I should have gone along with it and jumped the entire queue lol. Oh well diet starts again tomorrow.
This evening has been pleasant apart from the 'I do more than you' debate/argument I had with dh :( tbh I think we both just see all the things we don't do as oppose to things we do do but inevitably I always feel unappreciated. I mean I wouldn't mind doing it if every now and again it was acknowledged with flowers or something.
Okay enough of my ramble. I hope everyone else has had a lovely weekend and I am very much looking forward to meeting some feloow mn on Tuesday :)

LadyBuzz · 21/03/2011 08:15

i'm so Envy of your meet ups, I think i'm the only one up North Sad

I did meet with some ladies from Nov 08 thread a few times and it was lovely to put faces to the names Grin hope you all have a lovely time!

We had a quiet weekend, DH has a tooth absess so was in mega pain and looked a little bit freaky so we stopped in Grin

Off shopping for Easter clothes for the DCs with MIL this morning.

Kali has a little bit of a cold and cough poor thing and keeps coughing til she is sick Sad also all over our bed Running - lovely isn't it!

fuzzy have a fab time at Centre parcs!

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 21/03/2011 08:47

By Easter clothes do you mean bunny ears? Hmm :o
Are you anywhere near Kendal by any chance?

salt sorry you've been unwell :( A hot choc and beg slice of overpriced cake tomorrow will do you no end of good :)

Naughty Isobel not listening to her mummy Running - that'll be the first step on her way to defiance healthy independence Wink

Wow Fuzzy - that sounds, ermm, relaxing ??! Hmm

How's Saskia getting on now travis?

OP posts:
travispickles · 21/03/2011 14:17

Saskia is fine, although I feel a bit low today for no real reason. Went for coffee with a friend this morning which was nice, although she had invited all her family and I don't feel in the mood to make small talk when I haven't slept enough in ages. But then I worry that I am becoming antisocial, which isn't like me. Does anyone else find that spending a lot of time at home with a small baby makes you feel socially inept or is that just me??
I am in the North Buzz - where are you? I am also Envy at meet-ups, I would love to live down South again...
Salt - me and DH also had the 'I do (so much ) more than you do' chat... which I bloody do. It's a frequent occurence and I hate it. And am also hugely fat and nearly cried in TKMaxx (why oh why did I do that to myself) this morning. So you are

travispickles · 21/03/2011 14:17

not alone!!

saltnvinigarcrips · 21/03/2011 17:35

Oh poor you Travis sounds like you are having a right shite day! I know what you mean about feeling socially einept. I think there is that fear of not being able to contribute as your day revolves around the baby so whenever my friends come round and give me all the gossip I just say 'I don't have anything to say unless you want me to tell you about poo'. I would advise you meet up with friends to lift your spirits (obviously goes without saying not skinny ones Grin

buzz and travis I too will be up north from 9 April for just over a week. I am visiting my folks up in co.durham where abouts up north are you both?

feeling better today thanks bubba and it will be a skinny latte for me and no cake Hmm as starting my diet again tmorrow after giving in to a chocolate muffin about an hour ago Blush

Anybody else starting to crave cigarettes Blush

LadyBuzz · 21/03/2011 19:46

Bubba not bunny ears no, although if SIL has her way ........
More posh dress to wear for Easter to go with the most gorgeous Ralph Lauren Navy Blue satin ballet pumps I got her (in TK maxx - bargain).

I am near Kendal bubba (well quite near) I'm in Carlisle but if anyone wants to meet whilst opp north I am happy to travel too.
travis where are you?

salt I do when I've had Wine but I was only ever a social smoker, it was the worst thing for me in this pg, last twice I wasn't fussed!

Well after all my effort doing the thing that cannot be mentioned I put 2 lbs on Confused so looks like I will have to stop eating crap too bah!

RunningKatie · 21/03/2011 20:03

oh, just been told my boss has resigned, also found out that my colleague who is on maternity leave has had her request for part-time hours refused - so not looking good for my options! Ah well, not worrying about it just yet.

I'm in the midlands, think I'm the only one, will be heading up to the Lakes for a fortnight in November which is somewhere near LadyB I think?

DP is now away till friday, having flown solo for 3 days last week I have huge respect for single parents, I'm truly panicked at times even though I can ring people who will come over.

Also feeling fat here, had to buy a top for this wedding and can't fit my enormous boobs in anything!

saltnvinigarcrips · 21/03/2011 20:29

buzz are you implying you have been doing the ironing or having coitus Shock Confused

travispickles · 21/03/2011 20:44

Am in Scarborough, but I could travel...

LadyBuzz · 21/03/2011 20:51

salt Grin no i meant exercise Grin

running yes I am very close to the lakes, lucky me! its so very beautiful.

We should try and meet up - is there somwhere central between CoDurham, Cumbria & Scarborough??? I shall investigate!

LadyBuzz · 21/03/2011 21:00

I have and it appears that Co Durham is almost central to both myself and travis!

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 21/03/2011 21:07

Ooh, OBEM on telly - possibly brave enough to watch it again (tissues at the ready)!

LadyB do you feel done with three?

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 21/03/2011 22:14

bubba I don't think I could ever say 100% that I was done TBH, BUT I am so so happy with my little family and was told after Kali was born that I am putting myself at great risk if I have any more so that really makes the decision for me.
What about you?

The lady on OBEM really should not have agreed to be filmed with them there teeth - nasty!

saltnvinigarcrips · 21/03/2011 22:49

brave ladies watching OBEM. I don't think I'll be able to watch labour again for a long time!

Would definitely be up for meeting buzz and travis but I don't drive - however i'm sure my parents would taxi me wherever. Metro center could be an option?

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 22/03/2011 08:37

I know - the teeth!! She wasn't the only one, there were lots of dodgy teeth on yesterday's OBEM!

DH is done with three but I'm not saying never. If I could guarantee it would be healthy, a 'normal' size and we could squish them all into a smallish car, then I'd have another in an instant. Probably easier for me to say now DH is saying no, may be a different story if he was up for another! :o

jjkm that must be tough, but it sounds like you're coping well. Are we allowed to know their names yet? [nosy but hopeful emoticon] :)

Got Lachlan weighed yesterday, and he's heading in the right direction again, just settled down on a lower centile. I need to weigh him again next week to check he's still on track, but hopefully last week was just a blip.

OP posts:
RunningKatie · 22/03/2011 17:47

I watched 30mins of OBEM - first time I've dared watch it since DD arrived. Undecided whether we'll have another one, my age means it'd be wise not to leave it too long so at the moment some baby things are going in the loft "just in case".

Have actually done some gardening today, my Mum has been up and DD has been outside in the pram snoozing. She's now shouting with a windy tummy.

jjkm - you're doing brilliantly, have the twins settled in well at home?
