Here we go, down the slippery slope of parenthood. Slippery thanks to the poos, wees, leaky boobs and goodness knows what else :o :o

We'll be here to hold each other's virtual hands through the tough nights and delightful days, and to laugh at each other's stories of comedy nappy changes Hmm, and the fear (or not?) of getting back in the saddle, and coating some cervixes just for the fun of it again!! :o

ooh! will PM - i'm going to be near heathrow so this could work nicely

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 16/03/2011 20:59

Fab crysty - let's get something sorted then - cupcakes you around this direction on Monday or Tuesday then? salt can you do those days too?

OP posts:
Fuzzywood · 16/03/2011 23:10

Ooh I could do West London too as I'm in south bucks. Normally Tuesdays would be good but I'm not around next week Sad maybe a future meet up?
Afraid I broke the no exercise rule and went swimming tonight ( as much to get some time on my own as for exercise) knackered now though so fingers crossed for a good night.

Glad the Devon ladies had a good day, let us know if you can post some photos. Right time to try and get E off me and into his Moses basket.

saltnvinigarcrips · 16/03/2011 23:22

Oh that's a shame fuzzy but definitely another time would be good. I am free most days and either MOnday or Tuesday next week is fine for me. I was thinking Westfields? They have lots of places to eat/drink/ and fantastic changing facilities.

bubba I have been given 2 slings one being a babybjorn but not used it yet. My only concern with it is if if a coffee shop or something I still have to wear him Confused and I think I might get tired/bad back. Also I love my pram :) a lot.

On a different note, lo has been constantly feeding tonight so starting to dread tonight. He also seems wide awake now!

JJKM HURRAH HURRAH HURRAH! Pleased you can join the club Grin! Oh - so pleased! Seems like forever since they were born... how old are they now?

fuzzy DS did two massive poos which leaked last night! weird - first time that happened!

Devon meet-up was fab - rock's george is far too cute with his tongue sticky out thing - and crysty's Xavi is adorable - I was in love with his hair - and he seemed so tiny! Was great fun....

Girls - no time in London this trip BUT i'm back June time for Jesse's op - so we can arrange a London meet then? in the mean time - you can all meet and have fun times and discuss feeds, sleep, and eat biscuits in real life! Grin

Tomorrow - I'm braving a ceramic cafe and making mug and plate with DS's footprints on for DH's birthday pressie Grin - it'll be nice and fun and very messy Wink

I'm not planning to try and start being healthy til i get back to syria - so in the mean time i'm going to stuff as many mini-eggs in my mouth as possible Grin

Bubba don't worry too much about L - as long as he is gaining weight it doesn't matter if he doesn't stay on his percentile track (unless you have secret plans for him to become a sumo wrestler Hmm) - But seriously - even if he gains half a gram - he's still gain. Surely it's only worrying when they lose it?

DH coming home on saturday Grin - and had 6 week check with doctor today - all ok. She asked me if i had had sex since birth - and then i had to explain why i was laughing cos Dh left 2 weeks after birth! Anyhow - bless - she gave me 6 months of pill! So no more baby cupcakes for a while..... {PHEW}

Oh and don't want to make you Envy but DS went to sleep at 8.30 last night - slept til 11pm - then feedn/appy etc, slept til 3am, then slept til 7am! YAY! I feel so so so springy.... sure he'll go pear shaped tonight though....

RunningKatie · 17/03/2011 16:57

Arghhhh, DD puked in her cot at 3am. I can't remember who recommended yonks ago putting a spare sheet under the cot to make it easier if that happened. I was inwardly thanking you profusely as I stripped the cot and DD.

Had her weighed today, she's still on the 25th percentile but they seem happy enough with that.

jjkm - wonderful news, so pleased you have both your girls home.

One of my friends offered to babysit for me, I then heard via another friend that she didn't realise babies feed through the night - and she's a nurse who recently applied to work on a maternity unit! Hmm

gallicgirl · 17/03/2011 17:43

Oh 'eck, she's in for a rude awakening then!

I always put a muslin under Alys's head in her moses basket because she always pukes a little bit.

She slept in her travel cot for the first time last night, and she's in a strange house (MIL) so impressed she still slept 5 hours and to be honest, I think she only woke up because it was so damn cold. Seemed like a good excuse to bring her into our bed for cuddles. Nana is babysitting tonight so we get a little rest and chance to go out and socialise Grin

I really wouldn't worry about centiles as the thing with percentages is someone always has to be top and someone will have to be at the bottom. As long as DD is gaining weight, I'm happy.

LadyBuzz · 17/03/2011 19:55

jjkm fab news, that really is lovely.

Kali is on the 7th centile but seems to be following it shes just on the small side, just gone into 0-3 month clothes and they drown her poor thing Grin

gallic hope you enjoy your evening.

CupcakesHay · 17/03/2011 20:13

DS asleep - don't want to tempt fate but agree with (was it you gallic) about the sleeping bag making all the difference! I've made Jesse realise difference between night and day by setting up a little night time routine.

Also - think it's hormones and just stuff but everytime DS feeds from me today, i keep getting tearful - I'm either thinking about all those poor people in Japan, or getting upset about leaving my mum and dad and them not seeing Jesse til June.... Sad and even (selfishly) getting upset that DH is coming and I won't have me and Jesse time.... SadSadSad - that's awful isn't it?

LadyBuzz · 17/03/2011 20:24

cupcakes no not awful, hormones are a terrible thing to deal with and you have done fantastically. Its hard enough in your own home with your own stuff, you have done it in exceptional circumstances.
You should be proud of yourself lady!!

travispickles · 17/03/2011 21:52

Sorting clothes today, putting aside newborn stuff because (sniff) she doesn't fit them any more (sob!). Weighed yesterday and now weighs a hefty 12 lb at 7 weeks - on 75th for weight but only grown 2cm in 4 weeks so still 25th for height and head. WTF she will look like as an adult is anyone's guess! Sorry you feel down Cupcakes - you have a lot of changes coming up, that is always difficult. But it will be great when you get settled back home :)

RockLover · 18/03/2011 09:40

Hi all, good to see there has been some decent sleeping going on. George isn't doing too badly and is still going down in the moses basket - mostly.

Not feeling great at the mo, my ibs seems to be playing up and I have been off colour since yesterday morning now. George had a couple of slightly loose nappies, but he is absolutely fine in himself, so I'm pretty sure we haven't got a bug. I remember that after I had DD my ibs went mental, so it looks like I'm in for it again this time as well. Lucky me! Hmm

Looking forward to vegging out and watching Comic Relief tonight and I'm going to make sure I really do chill out. I'm finding it hard to actually switch off and relax these days as I'm always on high alert for George, although things have improved slightly and he is letting daddy settle him sometimes now.

DD has gone off to school with her Snow White dress up outfit as it is fancy dress for Comic Relief today, I wish I could be a fly on the wall and see what she gets up to.

She apparently has 4 (yes 4!) boyfriends now Shock, and when DP dropped her off yesterday one of them ran up shouting "it's x" then kissed her (much to the suprise of his Dad). According to DD he then asked her to marry him later in the day. She's 6 ffs and seems to attract boys like flies, but is really not interested in making friends with the girls at the moment, not sure what to make of that. .

Ok, I'm off to do eff all and feel sorry for my poorly self, hope everyone has a lovely day with there little ones.

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 18/03/2011 15:05

Anyone else West London direction able to meet up on Tuesday next week?

Round of applause for lil ol me - cupcakes made today with butter >>bows to self, well aware of general uselessness!

Thanks buzz for the pep talk Smile - feeling much better today.

I went to an arts cafe and did a print of Jesse's feet on a mug and 2 coasters for DH's bday pressie! It's sooooooo cute - and luckily it didn't smudge. Looked so lovely - i'll take a photo when i get it back!

And DS slept well again last night - seems to have got a routine at night - thankfully - so I get a bit more sleep these days (ish) and the long walk this morning in the rain tired him out.

And Grandad and Nanny are making the most of their last days with Jesse and cuddling him lots (and doing his nappy Grin) and DH coming tomorrow!

bubba - are you happy with Lachlan's weight? If so then don't worry about other babies - if not then speak to someone - as it might make you feel better.

And rock dolls are dull! boys are much better. Sorry to say it I was a nightmare about boys when i was younger and my parents purposely sent me to all girls school (thank god) as i would NEVER have got any work done. Hard enough to concentrate there anyhow!

Tonight - I'm planning to feed jesse, bathe jesse and play boggle with my mum! Grin

CupcakesHay · 18/03/2011 17:40

PS bubba - have you tried expressing from crazy boob and just half feeding half feeding with expressed milk?

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 18/03/2011 18:19

Yes - He won't take the bottle :(

OP posts:
ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 18/03/2011 18:21

Ooooh I lurve Boggle [geek emoticon] but no-one will play with me :(

OP posts:
Crystyclear · 18/03/2011 18:49

lol bubba and cupcakes i love boggle too and scrabble, but no one will play with me either... Sad

attempting evening bath, massage, nice food and bed here... for DS that is. i'll be the one eating cold food with one hand until bedtime with this fussy young chap. just hope to avoid the horrendous screamathon from yesterday. he got so upset. not sure if it was trapped wind or over-tiredness, but he gave in to sleep at 11pm in the end after 5 hours of screaming. poor little mite.
