OK two of the most unflattering pictures on my profile - excuse the bra - the bathroom here is very small!

AuldAlliance · 11/07/2011 16:49

I can't see them....

BabiesBolat · 11/07/2011 17:01

Oh I am rubbish at this photo thing - have clicked visible to all now so hopefully you can!

PuzzleRocks · 11/07/2011 17:23

Large it may be but it's a fabulous shape and not a single line!

BabiesBolat · 11/07/2011 17:27

Well not yet - I still have 13 weeks potentially!!! It's very veiny close up - like a road map! DH just laughs every time I get undressed for bed! :)

ZuluWarrior · 11/07/2011 17:59

Ooh nice bump BB - about the same size as mine at 38 weeks! No news here - have had a couple of false starts and getting a bit impatient but I have no right to at this stage . Bicnod, are you having any more luck?

AuldAlliance · 11/07/2011 19:57

Ooh, that's a nice bump, BB!

I still have marks around my navel even though I've never had it pierced.

Hang in there, Zulu!

Bicnod, any news?

It is farking boiling here (45° acc to thermometer in sunny spot on terrace, probably actually 33°, but that is still too much). Weather forecast in Edin is utter pants for the next 10 days. I don't mind the coolness, I do mind rain.

Boys both better, A has slight lingering cough but it should clear slowly. Am looking forward to seeing DS1 after 10 days away, and to observing how A's language skills evolve over 2wks in a solely English-speaking environment.

Crikey, BB, I see the problem. That is one big belly. Magnificent, though!

Bicnod · 12/07/2011 09:00

Morning ladies :)

BB - gorgeous bump pics - lovely shape bump. I too have stretched piercings. Nice. Are you going to have some help at home when the babies come along?

Boff - hope you're hanging in there. Was GP helpful? Any news on next steps at work?

Auld - glad the boys are on the mend. When are you off to Scotland?

Puzzle - good that the boob situation has calmed down - I'm not looking forward to going through that again. O informed me yesterday 'I like your boobs mummy' - just randomly, not connected to anything we were talking about. Strange child.

Zulu you are SO not allowed to get impatient. I'm due on sodding Thursday and no signs yet. I'd like to fish slap the midwife who told me at 36 weeks 'ooooo, you definitely won't make it past about 38 weeks'. Grrrrr Angry

Bebe - any news on when you can head home? I agree with the others that you sound like you need to come back sooner rather than later. Sending hugs x

SeniorWrangler - I'm confused. Please can you PM me or post on FB who you are? I, like BB, have total baby brain.

I'm feeling a bit stressed out by my living arrangements at the moment - we live in a first floor maisonette with 1 double and 1 single bedroom. We were planning to move out of London in the next year but that has been put on hold (by DH - he wants to do certain things in his new job before looking elsewhere: changing goalposts, big rows, Bicnod being unreasonable and hormonal, some crying, some talking, no real solutions blah blah blah). I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to cope with a newborn and a toddler here. Neighbours are really noisy (STRESS) road is really noisy (STRESS) teeny weeny garden is down steps at the back so O can't go out there by himself (STRESS) it gets really hot in here in summer and really cold in winter (STRESS) and our bedroom is right next to O's bedroom so I'm sure the baby will wake him up at night (STRESS) and he's not a great sleeper still anyway. ARRRRGGGGHHHH. This is why the baby isn't coming out isn't it? Because it knows its mother is INSANE and STRESSED and TIRED and VERY VERY WORRIED ABOUT SODDING EVERYTHING.

Will it be ok?

BabiesBolat · 12/07/2011 09:50

See SW - BIG BELLY! Thanks all for being very nice but it is HUGE! My sister thinks it looks like one of those fake pregnancy belly's that you can take on and off!

Auld glad boys are all better - bet you can't wait to see DS1

Bic My sister (K's nanny) will be working all through my mat leave so that I have some extra help and K starts nursery in September so there will be mornings where I have her all to myself - and mum and dad are next door so figure I am going to milk all the extra help and sleep as much as physically possible between feeds!

Hahahahaha! Lovely vision of you fish slapping the midwife. I met a lady last week that had twins and said that my hospital also said to her they wont let her go past 36 weeks and she was still pregnant at 38 weeks to which I replied 'if they attempt to do that to me there will be all out war on the maternity ward!'

Bic, It will be ok because you will make it OK it will just be a case of working out some sort of system. Can you look for a shorter term let in London until DH is ready to move out of London?

SeniorWrangler · 12/07/2011 12:03

On our honeymoon the band regularly played a really funny song called 'Da Big Bellied People Had a Party" in the middle of which, the lead singer used to perform wierd and amusing gyratory antics with his own rather large belly flopped over his trousers.

Better even than the Puppetry of the Penis performance group, methinks.

I thought of BB, natch Wink

BabiesBolat · 12/07/2011 12:07

Where on EARTH did you go on honeymoon????!!

I don't wear trousers anymore - even maternity ones are too uncomfortable - it's all about summer tents!

SeniorWrangler · 12/07/2011 12:13

Galley Bay Hotel, Antigua

bebemoo · 12/07/2011 12:43

BB I wish my belly looked that tidy. I too am all about the dresses, tho in part because it's very very humid lately which makes everything uncomfortable.

Puzzle I'm glad you're back to being more comfortable :)

Bic and Zulu I wish, in some ways, I was impatiently waiting my lo's arrival so soon! :) take it easy and try to rest up as best you can xx

Bic I would say try to take it as is comes. It's so difficult being in one place and thinking of another. Sounds in many ways as if you're in the position we're in (i.e. we want to move to a more ideal place, but just cannot make it happen yet) Work out a plan to help yourself achieve your goal and make the best of the situation. (so very hard I know!)
Try not worry too much abt the sleep/waking issues I'd say because it not certain how much cause and effect they'll have on each other yet (and you cannot do anything abt it now anyhow) but think of ways that you might be able to limit noise if it is a problem... putting wardrobe on the adjoining wall? even crazy as it seems hanging tapestry/curtains/fabric art on the wall will dull sound. Maybe making up a 'four poster' bed with insulating curtains? --these are all things that I've brainstormed if we find ourselves in a similar situation. Putting down extra rugs/carpets will also 'swallow' sound and help I think. (incidentally you might find adding soft furnishings will help with some of the other issues you have with the location -tho not the garden unless you throw everything out the back door for a safe landing at the bottom of the stairs)
Take heart you'll find solutions to your problems and find ways around things you cannot solve. lots of hugs and a virtual cuppa with some yummy cakes to help you relax in the meantime. xx

Moo and I had a little adventure yesterday.
She was sulky and grouchy all day, not wanting to do anything and being contrary because she was tired.
So we took the train to the station that Daddy gets his transfer and waited for him there for about 10 minutes watching the other trains, then joined him on the way home. Moo was as good as gold and so HAPPY to be able to meet Daddy. :) It was great fun for her I could tell because she jabbered away the whole time. :) I was completely prepared to be hassled as the last few times on the train we had terrible troubles, but she did a really good job and listened to directions really well. I was so proud of her and praised her for listening and being good. :)
It was 5euros for about 30 minutes of entertainment, but it was so worth it in the end.
I get the impression that she's tired of doing the same outings we normally do even though we go to different parks and walk to different shops for the groceries every day. That's the trouble with being out on the outskirts of the city I suppose. My next plan is to try to figure out the outdoor swimming pool...

Excited because my parents are here in 9 days :) and then it's only a few days after that we're on our way home. :) Then I have a couple of days to -ransack the house nest before DH is home and can stop me mwhahahaha Wink

SeniorWrangler · 13/07/2011 09:25

Felix loves going up to the station to meet his dad. Although when the express train goes past he absolutely quakes with fear like something out of a cartoon Grin It's involuntary and dramatic, but incredibly sweet and makes me feel really protective of him. He loves it though, so in the future I think he'll like rollercoasters more than I do Wink

I have the Foo Fighters on my CD player at the moment, I think it's a CD my daughter left at home last time she came. I am not sure whether I like them or not yet.

PuzzleRocks · 13/07/2011 10:08

My love of the Foos, who I have seen three times, is entirely dependent on the album. Which one?

bebemoo · 13/07/2011 11:17

I like the FooF too :) tho I agree some albums are better :)

20% of my preliminary packing is done :) I'd like to have the prelim's done this weekend and then do more deep cleaning next week before my parents arrive. That way while they're here I'll only have to keep things tidy and pack the toys and Moo's stuff just before we leave :) Thus leaving DH and Dad with only the final packing the vehicle and cleaning the flat top to bottom to do. We shall see how far I get

BabiesBolat · 13/07/2011 11:57

I LOVE the foo fighters but agree on albums, there was a strange phase in the middle that I didn't love! Went to see them at wembley a year or so ago and it was absolutely AMAZING! I particularly like listening them to the car whilst alone and going down a motorway so no one can hear me screaming along with them!

Bebe - do you know how you are getting home yet?

K often comes to get me from the station - he is not interested in me coming home and hurries me out the way so he can see the 'choo choo' go!

I am in a FOUL mood today, really and truly not my best. Am tired, fat and getting headaches and this morning had a massive nosebleed on the train to London. Am also feeling really fed up with work - due to finish on 2nd september (almost 26 weeks) but have this urge to use my holiday and finish mid August but then worried I will be sat around for too long and would be better to use the money when the babies are here...

Am also having a panic about getting baby stuff - got K's at about 32 weeks. I am 28 weeks next Monday. The pram I want will take at least 4 weeks to come - part of me thinks I need to get going with the nursery and get the things like moses baskets and order the pram but the other part of me is worried it's too early but then I could have the babies at 34 weeks - which is 6 weeks away!!! Gah will someone please make the decision for me about when to finish work and when to buy the baby stuff.

Also any good sights to get rid of old baby things - no point keeping K's bits when I have to replace most things anyway! Do not want to have to organise postage etc for prams and things but just want it out the garage!

BabiesBolat · 13/07/2011 11:58

36, not 26 weeks!

BabiesBolat · 13/07/2011 11:59

And sites not sights! - seriously need to get my head straight today!!!

PuzzleRocks · 13/07/2011 18:59

Finish now, finish now, finish now

BabiesBolat · 14/07/2011 12:25

Good plan stan! But I may drive myself insane sat around for 10 weeks, especially as Ks new use for my ever expanding frame is to use me as a climbing frame!!!

Bicnod · 14/07/2011 13:14

Is anyone else unable to access their inbox? I haven't been able to get into it since yesterday - grrrrr.

BB I second Puzz - finish now. do it do it do it.

Bebe thanks for your suggestions - definitely a good idea about putting down more rugs etc. I think it will be ok - I was having a wobbly day when I posted but feeling much better today.

Zulu - any movement on the baby front?

I am due today and no baby. Grrrr. O was a day early so was expecting this one to at least be on time. Oh well. Getting some pretty strong period type pains sporadically throughout the day and night (last night they kept me awake for about 2 hours) but don't think they are proper contractions as they are not regular at all. No show or anything like that. ARSE.

PuzzleRocks · 14/07/2011 13:36

I think HQ locked down the mailboxes because there were login issues; people discovering they were logged in as someone else. Shock

How exciting. I hope you don't have too much longer to wait. xx

BabiesBolat · 14/07/2011 14:27

oooh Bic, my sister had strong period pains (and no show) in the morning and gave birth that night - how EXCITING!!! I can't wait for another FW announcement! We need full birth stories and gorgeous pics of all these new babies!!

Any tips on stopping toddlers jumping on your tummy - he's been really good so I shouldn't complain but occasionally he whacks me hard there (by accident) but makes me panic for about an hour.

I am dossing working from home today and about to take my lunch break to pop into a little baby boutique and start window shopping!
