Yes. You smell of elderberries. Or some such. Wink

I think the fb group is where people are replying. This thread is pretty redundant at the moment. It's been going since January. We used to do one per week.

Shame you can't make it. I live in the smallest house in England otherwise I would welcome staying at mine.

bebemooneedsabreak · 08/05/2011 10:50

Happy USA/Germany Mother's Day ladies. Have another great day.

bebemooneedsabreak · 12/05/2011 12:21

Fingers toes legs and anything else you can cross for us ladies...trying to get DH's work to agree to let him to work 'remotely' i.e. from the house in Wales!!! Even if they only agreed for 2 months it would be great because then he could work through having the baby and give us time to sort ourselves without being off work....

Please please please let it work this time...

bebemooneedsabreak · 12/05/2011 15:57

never mind; it's a no go :( :(
tho he can work from London for the duration of the childbirth period...

bronze · 15/05/2011 15:05

I'll be in Kosova
If it had been the 20th I would have actually been in London killing time.

I still thing you should all come to mine, it would be bedlam but fun.
I don't have th energy to read back. whats happened in the last....say.. fortnight?

ZuluWarrior · 20/05/2011 12:55

It's oh, so quiet. How is everyone?

I've just been to the English riviera (ie Torquay) for a meeting. It was quite lovely. Now enjoying a day off. 22 days left to work! I am well but have varicose veins in placed I didn't know you could Blush. Hope everyone well xxxx

ZuluWarrior · 20/05/2011 12:56

bebemooneedsabreak · 23/05/2011 09:01

SHHHHHhhhh! We're hunting wabbits....

Oh Zulu it's not long now! :) How exciting for you. :) :) (not talking abt the v.veins) Wink

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the weather. xx

AuldAlliance · 24/05/2011 08:37

It's quiet in here.
Have you all been stunned into silence by the endless "no" from your 2yr-olds?

Hope all the PG FWs are doing well, and the others too.

I have returned from a symposium in Paris, where I tried to spot BA and failed. Lots of very, very chic people, though. And funky ones, too.

A is talking a lot, in two languages: French and Auld. "C'est pas guid" is my favourite.

And a new shoe shop has opened in town, called "deli shoes". Took me ages to realise that it is meant to be a pun, which only works if you say "delicious" in a really, really strong French accent with the wrong syllable stressed.

We have Tummy Bug.

That trivia should galvanise you all into posting now, shouldn't it?

OP posts:
PuzzleRocks · 24/05/2011 10:52

[instantly galvanised]

I got the deli shoes thing.

Feeling sorry for myself. I lost my sense of smell through a bout of hayfever/cold/sinusitis and consequently I cannot taste anything. Feeling very woe is me.

B52s · 24/05/2011 11:10

Morning. Have a work audit this afternoon so am trying to take my mind off. I didn't get the deli shoes thing [thick emoticon]. Am off to France next month for a week in sunny Brittany, have been trying to teach Sam to say Bonjour.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 24/05/2011 11:19

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

PuzzleRocks · 24/05/2011 11:25

Hey old timers!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 24/05/2011 11:27

Hi!
Haven't been on mumsnet in ..... about 18 months!! Shock
But I needed help with a blocked duct so I ventured back yesterday. will probably be my downfall!!

SO! Who's had more babies since our April '09 lot?

PuzzleRocks · 24/05/2011 12:58

GingerSarah/Vezzie had a daughter last month.

Others ..

Bicnod - July 14th
ZuluWarrior - July 26th
BebeMoo - late August
BabyBolat - October 8th

I read on Facebook that another old timer is pregnant but I don't know if she is mentioning it on here so wont say.

PuzzleRocks · 24/05/2011 12:58

Did you get the advice you needed?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 24/05/2011 15:58

Wow that's awesome!

Ya I got some advice. stuff I knew but I was just surprised to get a blocked duct after all this time!!

AuldAlliance · 24/05/2011 17:53

well, that's galvanised, at least in current FW thread terms.

Hello purplemonkey, hope the duct clears up soon.

I have barely left the sofa all day. This tummy bug is exhausting.

OP posts:
ZuluWarrior · 24/05/2011 20:17

Ooh ooh ooh - who's pregnant??? I'm not their friend on facebook so it's obviously none of my business.

Nice to see everyone's back! Bebe - were you joking when you hoped everyone was enjoying the weather? I had to do 2 U-turns on the way home from work yesterday because of fallen trees!

Auld, I love "c'est pas guid"! Almost as much as DS1 saying "but I am have" when you told him to behave! Lucky bilingual boys Smile. How are you doing anyway? Tummy any better?

Puzzle, I had a similar thing about a year ago and it was horrible! I was amazed how much joy is taken out of life when you can't taste and smell. Wine was like water and it took the pleasure out of everything. Get well soon.

B52s how did the audit go?

Purplemonkey - ow. I had a blocked duct at my cousin's wedding. I remember crying a bit. It unblocked on the plane home while feeding. Hope yours does soon.

PuzzleRocks · 24/05/2011 21:45

Yep that's pretty much how I feel. And today I was unaware there was an open afternoon at Ellen's nursery. The thought of her watching other parents arrive and wondering where I was is horrible. I'm feeling very flat tonight.

ZuluWarrior · 24/05/2011 22:03

Sorry to hear that Puzzle. She'll have understood why you weren't there once you explained it to her. Was she upset?

Get yourself an early night propped up on pillows. Are you getting a dry mouth from breathing through it?

ZuluWarrior · 24/05/2011 22:07

I've always said I'd be happy with 2 boys but looking at your pictures on facebook makes me think a girl would be quite nice actually Puzzle Smile. They are gorgeous.

PuzzleRocks · 24/05/2011 22:20

She was very sweet about it.

Thank you, I think so. Will you find out at your second scan?

I am heading up shortly. It's more the aching jaw/face that is troubling me. Ellen has a humidifier in her room so I have been sticking my face over that for a bit of relief.

Sorry for moaning and thanks for cheering me up.

Night xx

bebemooneedsabreak · 25/05/2011 08:16

I forgot you guys are not having nice weather over there as you had such a long bout of it while we were still in our dreary stages. Hope you're all doing ok and none of you have blown away!

Puzz sorry to hear abt the no tasting :( It really does make life difficult. One of the things G-ma complained about in the last 7!! years of her life was she lost all taste so nothing made her happy when it came to food any more :( Hopefully it passes soon for you and you can start enjoying your wine again Wink by then the weather hopefully have changed back and you can enjoy other tonics out in the glorious sun.

Auld sorry to hear abt your tummy bug too :( I think mothers should be exempt from getting tummy bugs as they make everyday things SO hard. Hope you got lots of rest yesterday and today finds you more recovered and capable. xxx Remember to still try to take it easy today even if you are feeling better so you re-coop in full!

What can I say abt here?
Moo and I are doing our best to fill our days without doing so much that I end up being incapacitated the next day.
Which usually means a movie/dvd in the morning after Daddy leaves (while I weave or do a little writing) some coloring and tower building as I make lunch. Then lunch on the balcony. A little swim in the pool on the balcony then a dry off and nap. Then Mommy prepares supper while Moo plays with dough or paint or toys and we eat, then Daddy comes home and he eats, and we all talk about our day. Then we go out for a walk and play at the park and a short shop at the grocery before it closes. Then we come home and watch a little tv maybe and do some reading in bed.

Days go by quickly. Tho weeks seem to take ages.

Sprite NR is just as active as Moo even moer so with LOTS of little movements as well as the big pressing ones.

My feet are swelling as fast as my belly, tho I've not really put on any weight (well 1-2kg depending on the day) and I feel like a bloated whale left on the beach to bake... Wink and walk around nearly naked when at home in the apartment.

I'm homesick for my own family and summertime playing at home (tho officially it's still Spring like there tbh)

I really want a very large cream filled cake, all to myself, to eat while hidden at the back of the dark closet Wink Grin followed by a very large glass of thick creamy milk... (which would then be followed, unfortunately, abt 45 min later with terrible cramps and the need to sit on the loo and then painful wind for the next 24 hours -TMI I know)

vezzie · 25/05/2011 13:19

Hi,
Puzzle - I'm guessing furiously who might be expecting - one person keeps coming to the forefront of my mind. Tell her to come on here and tell us so we can gush!
Sorry to hear about the hay fever. I have something not nearly as bad. So annoying.
Can't wait for the meet up.
Auld, that sentence is ace. I found myself attempting Norwegian today when a Norwegian little boy asked me where his mother was. We've known each other long enough that it seemed polite to at least try. He looked pretty sceptical tho. On another note, can we ask how things are on the home front, or best not?
Bebe, sounds as if you are very well organised with lots of fab activities for Moo. no mean feat when incapacitated and in a foreign country.
Have a good day all
