BoffinMum · 22/04/2011 23:21

Just got back from a week at FILs cottage in the lovely sun. And my veg seedlings didn't die while I was away!

PuzzleRocks · 23/04/2011 18:02

Aah Bebe, that's cool about the scan. xx

PuzzleRocks · 23/04/2011 18:05

Happy birthday Tiahna & Lewin.

And Ellen.

We hosted our first proper birthday party today. 13 children aged 4 and under at Pizza Express for a pizza making party. Sounds like it should be chaos but was fab.

PuzzleRocks · 24/04/2011 21:07

Oops Happy birthday to Isla for yesterday too.

Bicnod · 25/04/2011 20:34

WFH - sorry about the work situation :( is there any potential for switching jobs at some point?

Bebe - good news about the scan :) how long you back in UK for?

BB - good to know it's not just me with the ridiculous braxton hicks. How are your little wrigglers doing?

Boff - we just got back from a weekend away oop north and my pansies didn't die so I understand your joy Grin

I can't believe it's O's 2nd birthday tomorrow - how is my baby 2?! He's going to be quite excited tomorrow morning when he sees the little trampoline DH just put together for him - not quite sure how we're going to persuade him to eat his breakfast and go to the childminder!

PuzzleRocks · 26/04/2011 09:15

Happy birthday Evie, Oscar and Theo xx

vezzie · 26/04/2011 12:08

Happy birthday all 2-year-olds!

respect to those of you who have thrown / are throwing parties.
All predictably crazy here. dd2 won't be put down. dd1 being a bit manic. car broken down - picking its moment. but all well in the grand scheme of things. feel almost unbearably, poignantly lucky. one handed typing so forgive missing words.

auld, how are things?

Best to all FWs

ZuluWarrior · 26/04/2011 20:42

Vezzie - nice timing, car. Always happens like that. Glad to hear you're enjoying your new girl. How did dd1 take to her? .

We've been for our first trip to the minor injuries unit this afternoon to glue a burst head. The first of many I'm sure.

Happy 2nd birthday everyone!

PuzzleRocks · 27/04/2011 08:40

Happy birthday Oliver and Veronica xx

bebemooneedsabreak · 27/04/2011 09:54

Back in Germany...sigh
only 3 more months :)

Happy Birthday to all the lo's with Birthdays I missed!
It was a very very busy long weekend and I'm glad to finally be able to relax again. Had a horrible time with my hips etc while away but somehow/for some reason it all clicked back into place as I was rolling over the other night and I'm back to feeling 'normal' Hopefully I will be able continue to be ok here. I think the long car ride to the Uk was what did it. We tok more care (and i was more reclined on the return trip)
I was so amazed at how easy it was to move the one leg without pain and while the other was in agony...every time I moved the one I breathed a sigh of relief and thanked the gods that it moved properly; I was definitely not taking it for granted... :)
Really looking forward to the baby and being home again :)

Hope you're all well and the lo's are not giving you a hard time. xx

BoffinMum · 28/04/2011 09:48

Just had facet denervation to see if they can sort my hips out. This is killing the nerves off apparently so they can stop sending messages to my head about pain. They may grow back, but in the meantime I may get a holiday from the pain.

bebemooneedsabreak · 28/04/2011 09:56

more questions in the bebe household...nursery school looming

bebemooneedsabreak · 28/04/2011 09:57

Hope it works for you Boff! I can begin to understand because of the pain I was in on the weekend...I was desperate to be free from pain... fingers crossed

PuzzleRocks · 28/04/2011 10:25

I do hope so Boff. Take care.

BabiesBolat · 01/05/2011 07:48

Morning all

Hope everyone is ok. Happy Birthday to all the LOs I've missed.

Bic yeah ok still feeling really rough with ms (it's 17 weeks now isn't it supposed to stop!!!). No kicking yet just lots of bubbles and pulse movements. Heard the heartbeats earlier in the week, one was 160 the other 140 so I think I am having a girl and a boy but going to wait until they arrive to find out (they may well level out later in the pregnancy!). How's your little bean? Not long now!!

Bebe I wouldn't home school personally, nothing against anyone's ability but for me school is where I made my very best friends who are still with me 18 years on so I think it's an important place to mix with other people and find yourself a bit. Of course that's just one tiny reason and you have to consider all the different things going on with you and DH's work. Can you speak to a local nursery or school about your situation and perhaps discuss a mix of home / classroom learning.

Good luck boff.

My sister had a gorgeous little girl on Monday but she's really struggling with feeding, ended up back in hospital yesterday as she had gone from 7.12 to 6.7. My sister is distraught but happy that the baby is more settles (the hospital have been letting her feed for 20 mins or so and then topping up with formula). She's BFing but doesn't seem to have her proper milk in yet (it's been 5 days). Any tips for encouraging it to come through??

PuzzleRocks · 01/05/2011 12:22

Aww congrats to your Sis.

Has she spoken to a lactation consultant? I don't really know what to suggest. Maybe a thread in the feeding section would be helpful?

Bicnod · 02/05/2011 20:00

Vezzie - what an arse about the car. How is it going juggling a 2 year old and a newborn? I'm nearly 30 weeks now and getting slightly nervous...

Boff - has it worked? Fingers crossed for you.

Bebe - any decisions yet on home schooling? Will you be in UK for a bit after your 3 months is up?

Zulu - ouch. Poor babywarrior. O is constantly sporting bruises on his head at the moment as he keeps tripping over while running - we haven't had a cracked open head yet but I'm sure our time will come.

BB - congrats to your sister :) how is she doing with the feeding now? I would second Puzzle's suggestion of a lactation consultant - we saw one when I had nipple thrush and she was amazing. Also, definitely post in the feeding section - tiktok is good with stuff like this, maybe put her name in the thread title? Very exciting about your twins - I'm glad you're not finding out the flavours :)

We were in Richmond Park today and it reminded me of our lovely picnic last summer - we have to get a date in for another meet up - who's up for it?

O pulled at a wedding this weekend. It was hilarious. He fell completely in love with a 3 year old girl and they ripped up the dance floor for an hour - possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life. Will post a vid on FB at some point. Grin

vezzie · 03/05/2011 14:04

Hi all!

Today is our first day a trois as DP has gone back to work - as you can see I have found a moment to mn. dd2 lives in the mei tai like a marspial. dd1 still finds her cute!

Bicnod - as you would expect things are very different from just having one but one thing that is a lot easier, at least for me, is that you have already made the transition into parenthood and don't have to do it again. Emotionally and practically you are a mother now - you will be fine. Can't wait to see your id!

I'm really sorry I missed Richmond Park last year and would definitely be up for it this year.

Argh lots more to say but someone is crying, more later

PuzzleRocks · 03/05/2011 19:58

Does anyone want to suggest some dates for Richmond Park and we can start a list?

BabiesBolat · 04/05/2011 12:12

I am around end of June for the rest of summer xx

Bicnod · 04/05/2011 17:52

How about Thursday 23rd June? That's 3 weeks from my due date so I shouldn't have popped yet...

BabiesBolat · 05/05/2011 06:52

Yep works for me - I'll need to book a day off work though so I'll hold off until it's confirmed!!!

PuzzleRocks · 05/05/2011 08:38
