weigh ins I have joked about this recently that with DS1 his red book is filled with them, DD so so and Tristan I hardly at all. I have been meaning too get him weighed just "to see" but he has a great appetite and I know he is doing fine. Smile

Jabs bugger (sorry for the word) but I keep forgetting to book. Must do!

QF how are you feeling with the new meds?

Ali any good baking tips of late? I am on a roll!! Lol.

Patchy half term not too long. What is your survival tactics?

Phoenix hope the sleep training still going well.

Hi to anyone lurking.

JetLi · 08/02/2011 08:39

Thanks all - was beginning to wonder if Social Services might come knocking due to lack of weigh-ins Grin

alibobble · 08/02/2011 19:48

weigh ins: not had rebecca weighed for months and months. I occasionally measure her height on the door frame and discovered the other day that at 18 mths she was taller than beth was a t 2 yrs! No idea how much she weighs though. She eats like a horse so not too worried.

Jetli: glad you're feeling more positive and that swimming was a success. I remember that feeling of getting out of the water and suddenly feeling the bump again was well weird.

Jabs: my doc tells me when ours are due rather than me ringing them. Is this not the same? We're not due any are we?

half term: I've booked a trip to cheeky chimps (soft play place) for one day and going to grow your own beans at the library another day. Our library has loads of stuff on over half term for kids. Well worth checking your local one. :) (plug plug)

baking: been pretty lame of late. No time at all though I did discover today that using treacle instead of syrup in flap jack was actually lovely. tastes like bonfire flapjack ie treacle toffee. Yummy.

Hi everyone... would you believe that I have a cold now! It is never ending.......its been a bad winter for us. I feel ok in myself though and have had a lovely day so that boosts your spirits. I had 2 of Max's baby friends for a play and lunch today (with their mummy's of course!) they played so well and it was fab seeing them all sitting round the table having lunch! They loved it!

This afternoon the 2 big kids both had a friend for tea, I try to do it every couple of weeks but what with bieng poorly haven't done it for a while. They are at the age now that they don't make a mess and what they do mess they tidy. max enjoyed playing with (annoying) them! So all in all it was good.

Half term: Missp I try not to do too much but have soemthing on most days, even if it is small. We are having a big day out to London, My mum has said she will have Max for the day and we will take the big kids. They both have school projects to do and DD is doing the Egyptians, I think there is an exhibition at the British Museum so we will go to that. Hopefully the weather will be good so we can get out and about, long walks on the sea front in Brighton to burn off some of that energy!

Baking: Max won't eat fruit on its own but will eat it in cakes! Greedy little monkey! I always seem to have a batch of cupcakes with blueberries thrown in on the go. I find I add much less sugar for him and they seem to work.

I took Max to get weighed when he turned 18 months. Felt a bit sillyy to be honest as there were so many tiny babies there, we looked and felt very out of place!!

Anyway off to chill in front of the tv, a well deserved break!
xx

When I was looking in Noah's red book last night I realised that his baby clinic is held on a Tuesday afternoon so as today was my day off we decided to take him to be weighed. He weighed 27lb 14oz. As you say, patchbob, he was the oldest baby there by far.

Sleep is going well although he is starting to test us the last few nights but he is still going to sleep by himself and is staying in his cot all night.

It's Lewis' 5th birthday tomorrow so I've got present wrapping to do tonight.

Sod it.
Think I'll have a Wine

Childcare is going a bit tits up for impending labour. Nursery have come to the rescue (bless em). So at least that's the next 2 days sorted should anything happen Hmm

Me & my inconvenient children Sad

Misspaella · 10/02/2011 06:19

Jetli don't despair. When I had Tristan (early!) my in laws were 2 hours drive away and we couldn't reach them. Queue nighbours (also friends with little children) who took the older DC's for us in the meantime.

Does Hetty have any little friends that you can ask their parents to be back up carers whern the time comes? No one would say no.....Smile

Phoenix We've started patting and sshhhing Tristan and he too is mainly staying in his cot. Hooray.

Patchy we are setting some playdates half term and that is it. I haven't paid for any activity schemes as need to watch the pennies.

Ali I am thinking of backing either a heart shaped pumpkin pie or red velvet cupcakes for Valentines day. I am back to baking again. Love it.

alibobble · 10/02/2011 09:24

Miss: yay for the pumpkin pie. I have a heart shaped dish. you have inspired me. I'm making a chocolate, peacan and maple syrup pie. Not sure if I have enough pastry for the tin.

Oh gotta go, becca has nicked my yog for work out of my bag and is bi+t-ing her way in it!

JetLi · 10/02/2011 15:28

You know, I think I'm niggling. Nothing definite. A vague pain coming and going & lots of pressure. Either its starting or I need a bloody good trump!

Hmm
JetLi · 10/02/2011 16:15

Aaaaand now it's stopped. Confused

Misspaella · 10/02/2011 20:16

Jetli any more niggles????

ali heart shaped tins are the best to whip a valentines goody. Smile

JetLi · 10/02/2011 21:01

Hi MissP - all quiet again, but not only has the childcare gone pear-shaped, but there's all sorts of shit flying trouble at work now, so DP is under loads of pressure. He's had about 3 hours sleep in the last 24 Sad

And snow is forecast for Monday Hmm

Not feeling very positive today TBH Sad

Misspaella · 12/02/2011 07:13

Jetli I am sorry to hear DP is having work issues and you are not feeling so great emtionally. It will get better once you have your LO. Smile

I am suffering from insomnia again and up on and off pretty much from 4am. I need sleep training....lol. I just keep thinking about moving and how we it seems sooo long before we can afford it. We have saved some £k but need another more (plus we are banking on our flat making more money and getting extra on the mortgage) As a one income household we are really feeling the pinch. Sad Being a grown up is hard!

alibobble · 13/02/2011 10:57

Sorry to hear everyone a bit :(

(((hugs))) all round.

Been for a night out in Blackpool to Funny girls. What an eye opener! The to the flying handbag round the corner...

I think i'm getting old... that or I was way too sober. Drinks were £3 a piece so I refused to buy one on principle! Alcohol is a lot more expensive than my student days... that or I'm alot more cautious with my money! It was £13 for a bottle of Wine Got to the flying handbag and really felt like I could have done with a Brew! Honestly! Was a good night but I was glad i was restrained. Some of my friends burned through £70 between a meal and drinks Shock

JetLi · 13/02/2011 12:48

Hi all. Still here Hmm

Glad you had a good night out Ali - would love to go to Funny Girls Grin Haven't been to Blackpool in yeeeeaaaars. Although we did threaten to go to the illuminations last time around. Maybe this year. Agreed that nights out are so bloody expensive these days. There's a fab Turkish place we use in Sheffield - brilliant food at good prices, but they charge £2.50 for a glass of coke or lemonade. We can regularly chew up £10 just on drinks between the 2/3 of us. Daylight robbery!

Just ordered a Connecta - was bored & surfing and went onto the website to find they are doing a 20% off sale so I thought bugger it - it must be A Sign Grin

Hope you are sleeping better MissP Smile Could you raise some more cash doing a ma-hoo-sive ebay - I know it wouldn't be anywhere probably what you need, but I tend to feel better if I'm doing something IYSWIM. Plus it'd mean far less stuff to pack when you do move Wink Grin Always a bonus!

Been a bit niggly the last couple of days. Curry last night plus a litre of pineapple juice. So now I've got tummy ache of an entirely different sort

QueenFee · 13/02/2011 17:49

we keep meaning to go to the illuminations too. Maybe this year...
I tend not to drink due to the cost or drink whatever is on offer. If I go out with the girls we usually have a couple in local 1st as it's so much cheaper.
I went for a free hot stone massage on fri night courtesy of the nct and a local salon was absolutely sublime!
I have managed to day wean alfie just nights now which is going to be hard

alibobble · 14/02/2011 09:54

Happy valentines ladies.

Got some devine red undies from Mr Peter. Correct size and comfy too! He's de-caffed himself and just drinks black current at work... he's a changed man! I think I might need to slip him some cafedirect to get a rest! Safe to say the drought is over... about flippin time too! :)

Hope you are all ok.

Jetli: Any news or are you still chugging the pineapple juice?!

JetLi · 14/02/2011 11:00

Had regular cxns all night. Managed to get some sleep with paracetomol. And this morning its all stopped. So DP is at work now. Going to potter around now, see if it will kick anything off again...

Patchybob · 14/02/2011 14:36

Any news Jetli ? have they started again? Just nipping on to wish you luck my lovely......it will all come good in the end, your child care issues will sort themselves out and very soon you will be holding baby jetli in your arms. Big hugs and kisses xxxxx

Will post later on if I get the chancexxxx

JetLi · 14/02/2011 16:01

Thanks Patchy Grin

Have been having the odd twinge now & then but nothing serious. Have a mad cleaning urge though which definitely is unusual because I am usually such a slattern! Can't stop thinking about woollyjo though Sad I think part of the keeping busy is to quieten my mind a bit.

alibobble · 14/02/2011 16:57

I had 3 false starts with becca made me v :( cos I was so impatient for her to arrive. Hope it all goes well.

Pete loved my false start labours though cos I felt the urge to keep moving so did the ironing! (normally he does it)

QueenFee · 14/02/2011 23:31

aww jetli you will get there. Will be checking regularly. Will pray for a safe delivery for you. I wonder how wooley is doing now?
We have had a quiet but happy valentines day here. A friend is going to have Alfie on thursday and we hope to go out to lunch together. Cheaper midday, seeing as dh still hasn't got a job. He is trying hard bless him.

JetLi · 15/02/2011 01:28

Hi all - its started again, but I think a bit stronger than last night - I can't seem to get to sleep anyways, so I'm pottering around just now.

Hoping I can at least hang on until 7-ish so that Hetty can go to nursery as normal Smile Otherwise today is one of the "childcare gone to shit" days... Mum has to take sister's boys to school as she's at college today. Then she goes to visit Nan (with Alzheimers) who has this awful habit of leaving loose tablets lying around on little side tables or dropping them on the floor. The pretty shiny red ones are heart tablets - beta blockers - and Hetty would have them in her gob quicker than anyone would see. So as you can imagine I'd rather she went to nursery where I know she's safe! Mum's solution is that she will vacuum really thoroughly when she gets there Hmm sorry but that doesn't exactly cut the mustard I'm afraid Angry

Phoenix · 15/02/2011 08:50

Hope this is it JetLi, good luck x

Misspaella · 15/02/2011 11:54

Hope this is it Jetli Smile
I was watching "one born every min" last night and made me broody for a 4th DC!!! I also am convinced I never screamed as loud during birth and DH just looked at me like I was mad.

QF I like the idea of lunch out. That seems even more fun as day time dating is gone gone gone since we had DC's.
