it appears I posted the last post... so here's a new thread

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

See that's what I mean... Most 2 year olds don't want a nap. Q asks for it.

Cm said he wasn't "himself" today because he was a little whingy. I just thought, really? Whingy is one of the top 10 words that comes to my mind when asked to describe him at the moment Grin

Best wishes with the PT myjob! Q responds well to stickers but on him with sello tape no chart.

Good luck tonight Pistachio. Sorry to hear you're struggling. Remember, the good thing about small children is that they're very forgiving. I'm sure if you do something fun tomorrow they won't hold it against you. Wink

CSWS - Good to hear your mum is now alright. I can't believe it was that long ago!

Hope the PT is going well Myjob. How will I know if S is ready for potty training? He made me laugh last night. Dp popped in to check on him to find that he'd taken his nappy and trousers off and was sleeping with his little white bottom in the air. Very sweet (and highly impractical!).

I decided to take another day off. I'm glad I did, as it's all been very stop-start and I wouldn't have managed very well in a classroom unable to leave.

Ekka · 15/03/2011 19:12

Pistachio - don't beat yourself up, I had an awful day yesterday parentingwise and got really cross with dd, felt awful about it all night and she is fine today, no hard feelings at all...

Cf, I think you are very sensible taking time off. Teaching seems to be very full-on and really you need plenty of time to get yourself back to full fitness.
Good thing your dp discovered S - love the thought of him removing everything to sleep!!!! But could have been extremely messy!

Star, M always refuses a nap, but I take him upstairs and read to him then he lies down and two minutes later is fast asleep. He will easily sleep for 2 hrs if allowed! Also, just wanted to know - what was that website you use for getting deals on Clarks shoes? I have a friend who buys Clarks and could do with a cheaper option!

Myjob, sorry to hear the dc are sick again, so frustrating. However it looks as if spring is on its way, so hopefully we're coming to the end of the winter bugs season at least....

Ok, will have to re-read again properly later, but M is asleep on the sofa and I need to get him up to bed! He still doesn't sleep through - its driving me insane....

Hi all, I've not read yet but wanted to get my question in and then read. Apologies if TMI but have had some discharge today and wondering if it's a show... It was clear and jelly like, about 20p size but no blood? Having completely convinced myself I was definitely not going to have the baby on the due date (tmrw) I'm now wondering...?

Honeymoonmummy · 15/03/2011 20:02

Have now read, good news on the potty training Myjob yay! Smile

StarExpat · 15/03/2011 20:07

It might be, HMM :) But what do I know?

myjob congrats! She'll be better than Q in no time! He does really well, then regresses when he gets too busy playing then does well again...
And he still won't pull down his own trousers

StarExpat · 15/03/2011 20:07

I hope it is! I want to find out your baby's name :)

Honeymoonmummy · 15/03/2011 20:16

It's not very American Star! Grin

StarExpat · 15/03/2011 20:24

LOL
That was so funny! I have no clue what an "American" name would be!

StarExpat · 15/03/2011 20:25

If I ever have another boy, I'm stealing KSal's DS' name.

Ekka · 15/03/2011 20:47

Star, dd still manages to have accidents if she is in the middle of playing and she will wait until she is absolutely desperate - aaaarrrrgggghhh...

Myjob, sounds great on the potty training front. I think we're going to go with nappy-free over easter and see how ds does.

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/03/2011 21:17

It might be a bit of a show hmm, but a full show would be an awful lot more than that. It does at least mean that things are moving in the right direction. Good luck just in case!

KSal · 15/03/2011 21:40

yay myjob.. sounds like Emmma - was sure she wouldn't go for it and she just did, We've had a couple of accidents in the last week (amazing!) she takes herself off to the potty without saying anything now so i have to keep an eye on her :)

she's not well at the mo... really off her food :(

I bet you did great pistachio.

Dd wet herself the other day when she was busy playing in the garden :rolls eyes:.

pepperrabbit · 15/03/2011 22:23

We're getting nowhere potty training at all. She did one wee by accident on the potty, got us all excited, and now gets hysterical if you even mention the potty Hmm. In fact she nearly made herself sick the other night by getting so upset before bathtime because she thought we were going to sit her on the potty....
So, all potties removed, no mention of toilets, and we'll wait awhile. As the Dss were both nearly 3 I'm not fussed really, but DH has been convinced that girls train earlier and he's getting all upset/cross about it. Biscuit
I've just been to a Year R Maths Evening at school for DS2 - it was really interesting and motivating - makes you confident they can inspire the kids if they can inspire jaded parents. though it was an inauspicious start when I told DS2 where I was going he said "what's maths?" Hmm

thought you'd have taken your bump to bed by now pistachio!
I read your earlier comment about being a horrible person - i thought, blimey, I can be horrid when not stressed at all! i think you're doing an amazing job at the mo Smile

Off to bed here too, though I was trapped by a very nice bar of Green & Black 75% dark chocolate, the only bump here will be a choccy belly!

HMM I hope you're off having your baby right now!

myjob - I think that's fine! I wouldn't go buy loads more, either.

Maybe when she's fully trained and a little older, get her some that she likes? But for now, not really worth it IMO.

:)
