Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
StarExpat · 06/02/2011 22:29

Oh horrid. Will be disinfecting even more than usual tomorrow.

StarExpat · 07/02/2011 14:14

Had dreams about the worms. Blush... the dream was a bit more dramatic than what actually occurs, of course, but that photo...

csws I really hope they go quickly for you all. :( Do you have medicine for them?

Yes, ronshar - what is the job?

Ekka · 07/02/2011 17:46

CSWS - now look what you've done, you've traumatised Star Wink. Hope they all clear up soon.

Ronshar, good luck with the job!

Coconutfeet · 07/02/2011 19:27

Happy belated birthday Pepper!

CSWS - Ugh to worms. Could you actually see them or was it just diagnosed because of the itching? [Paranoid now]

Ronshar - Yes do give us the low down on the job.

I was supposed to be back at work today but ds and I seem to have come down with a bug. He was sick this morning and I was feeling distinctly queasy and had a pounding headache all day. Ds seems fine now but I've been a lousy parent and we've had the tv on for most of the day i've just been desperate for dp toget home so I could go and have a lie down in the dark. I really hope I'm OK tomorrow as I need to get back to work.

StarExpat · 07/02/2011 20:34

Lol I'm sure csws is much more traumatised than I Grin

I hope you're feeling better cf. Horrible :(

Are you getting a big bump now, Ekka?

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/02/2011 22:18

We all took the medicine yest star (you only have one dose, but have to treat everyone (although we haven't done J as they only had the medicine for over 2's).
We diagnosed dd based on her scratching (though it wasn't that much) and then she told dh that she'd seen a little white thing wiggling on her poo (although supposedly they are virtually impossible to see). We can't be sure of course, but we're not taking any chances. And it can cause nighttime disturbances, so we were hoping that maybe it had been affecting ds1 without us realising.
But now ds1 is running a temp of just over 39 and feeling quite poorly, so we won't know just yet.

Dd's 5th birthday tomorrow :).

KSal · 08/02/2011 09:31

i am going to gross you out now... but i remember having worms when i was little. diagnosis was for same reason... I saw one. Ick

the treatment was a revolting milshake

Oh so excited for you, Jenwa! How lovely!

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/02/2011 09:54

Blimey Jenwa - why's that? Are you up the duff?! Grin

StarExpat · 09/02/2011 10:44

Do you all sometimes give your kids cereal for breakfast - like wheatabix or porridge or bran flakes? Or never? I try to cook him eggs or pancakes or something like that often but there are about 2 days every week when he gets a cereal... is this bad? I mentioned to someone about the morning being a bit rushed and quickly giving Q cereal and there was a comment about a "proper" breakfast.

But what is that? When we lived in Japan the "proper" breakfast was much different than it is here... different than in the US as well.

I'm not questioning giving him wheatabix/porridge/bran flakes at all. I am certain that he gets a well balanced, nutritious diet. I am just wondering if I'm alone in giving these to my dc for breakfast.

StarExpat · 09/02/2011 10:46

sorry last word should be sometimes!

StarExpat · 09/02/2011 10:47

And he gets healthy bread toast with it as well. Grin

ronshar · 09/02/2011 11:06

Tell the person with the proper breakfast comment to explain what they mean?
Porridge should be the first choice but who has that kind of time every morning?
I have a selection of cereals which H gets out each morning, she sets the table with some help from W. G is still in bed moaning about how it is too early and that she cant be bothered to get up etc etc. I will do toast as well if they are still hungry after cereals.

I go by the motto "as long as they have eaten something to set them up for the day then thats fine by me"
No sweets or chocolates though. Or a crisp sandwhichShock that was the question for me on saturday morning! Pre teens. What a nightmare.

Blimey Jenwa what has possessed you to give up work?Wink Have fun and enjoy the rest before you get really boredSmile

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/02/2011 11:49

star I think you'll find that most children in the uk have cereal for breakfast most days. As long as it's a reasonably ok cereal (and not made by the bastards at nestle) then I can't imagine why anyone would have a problem with it. I would be delighted if mine would eat cereal in the mornings.
