OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JodeyBogeyPicker · 10/02/2011 10:16

Oh yeah forgot to say;

Saisore that is a very reasonable price for food and I eat anything, so am happy to go along with the majority. A lovely idea too about donating profits. Also, I can do anytime as live in Brum. Really looking forward to it.

Cinnamon & Chelle Harlyn always goes to sleep with a muslin square as he likes to hold it a pull it over his face. He used to have a favourite fleece blanket but I slyly exchanged it for a muslin square due to them being totally breathable material. If he wakes in the night we just rub the muslin into his cheek and he settles again. It always gets him to sleep in the day too, just a shame he wakes up after only half hour Angry

saoirse86 · 10/02/2011 10:49

saoirse86 + Orlaith
cinnamongreyhound + Luke (+ ds1?)
mapletrees + Louis
Jodeybogeypicker + Harlyn
And can I add aswellasyou + Imara (my sister and niece) ????????? [cheeky emoticon]

My mum may also be around because she'll be helping us do the food or maybe looking after Orlaith and Imara while we do the food.

maple of course there will be veggie stuff, partly for completely selfish reasons on my part! Grin

jodey and cinnamon you must be right about the charts. I didn't realise baby boys and girls were so different! Shock

And that's a really good idea about the blanket/muslin cloth. I might try that.

I've had good news today (a letter from HMRC saying I'm getting an £800 tax rebate) and bad news (there's no milk to put in my tea!) but I think I'm going to get through the bad news! Wink

JodeyBogeyPicker · 10/02/2011 11:11

Saisore as I'm in B'ham, if you need an extra pair of hands to help out then i can get there earlier if you need me to. Also great good news, that will come in handy I'm sure. What a lovely surprise and yeah, you will defo get through the bad lol.

Harlyn has just fell asleep, for how long??? Who knows but I'm sure he'll be awake by 11:30.

I've booked my Cornwall Holiday to Higher Harlyn near Harlyn Bay today. Soooo excited to take Harlyn there to see where his name came from. We decided to book a caravan rather than camping though. Thought camping with an 8 month old could be a bit of a mare.

JodeyBogeyPicker · 10/02/2011 11:14

p.s

Regarding the growth charts, does that mean if Harlyn was a girl, he would be classed as Obese??? Shock Blush [sceptical] Wink

JodeyBogeyPicker · 10/02/2011 11:16

Shock Blush Hmm Wink rather!!! lol

Debs75 · 10/02/2011 11:23

TMI ALERT
Well Lucy spent the whole day pooing yesterday. I think the tiny amount of food she is getting must of kicked her digestion into gear as they are at last 'proper' looking poos, not her usual 'pesto poos'
She hasn't been having much food as she is usually hungry when we eat so has boob instead. Am going to try her with some at dinner today if she is awake, if not then she has some more sweet potato mash to play with.

I can't make the meet-up as it is half-term but I hope you all have a great time.

saoirse86 · 10/02/2011 12:14

Thanks jodey I'll let you know if/when you're needed.

That's a shame you can't come Debs is it because of childcare? You could bring your children, or would that be a bit stressful?

cinnamongreyhound · 10/02/2011 13:22

When I had ds1 both charts where in my Red book and I was just told to throw the pink one away. This time I got a book with a blue spot on the front and it only have the blue charts in it. Not sure how much bigger boys are but it must be a reasonable amount or they wouldn't bother with the 2 charts! I had the same with ds1 JodeyBogeyPicker and even now people say how big Luke is, to me he's tiny- still in 3-6 month clothes and 5 months on Sunday it's amazing Wink

Mapletrees dh is off as it's half term we have dss but I had planned for us all to go and stay overnight Wednesday and drive but it depends on what I would have to pay for a hotel/B&B. Might suggest that to dh and see what he says though, I can always drive myself to Cambridge and park at his work as we only have one car!

Debs75 · 10/02/2011 16:18

It's the travelling Saoirse DD2 is travel sick and DS gets too hyper when travelling, DD1 is a sulky teenager so would happily stay at home.
I will try and make the next one if it is during the school term.

lumpybananapuree · 10/02/2011 19:09

Hey girls! I don't think I'm going to make the meet up. Looking further into transport etc, its a pretty fair distance! Its a good 2.5-3hrs train or car & I wouldn't be able to stay over cos I'd have to get back for Toby. Not sure if I fancy 5, possibly 6 hours in the car or train with an Olly!

Olly seems to be dropping a bottle! When is it too soon! I don't know whether to lay off the solids but he cries for them too!

Olly 23 weeks

JodeyBogeyPicker · 10/02/2011 19:15

Just found out that my friend is coming to visit from Huddersfield the week we are meeting so if its ok with those of you going, can she come with me? She is a first time mommy to Olivia who is ten weeks older than Harlyn. Talking of the little fella, he's just started crying in his cot so gotta go. x x

SeaChelles · 10/02/2011 19:27

No meet up for me either I'm afraid - I don't fancy five hours in the car with my Olly either Lumpy! Plus have another commitment that day now.

Olly has been bad after his injections yesterday - swollen leg and temperature. Poor angel. Didn't even whimper when he had them. Tucked up in bed now.

Olly, 19+4

newmum001 · 10/02/2011 21:06

Hi all, i did mention it on the FB thing but just incase anyone didn't see it i won't be coming to the meet up either. I really don't fancy travelling with Grace on my own there and back and staying over would be too much of a hassle as i don't drive and would have to cart everything on the train or coach but i hope all those that are going have a lovely time!

I'm sooo jealous that babies are crawling already, Grace isn't even rolling yet, she can get onto her side then spots a foot or something and gets completely distracted! Although when she's on her tummy she's constantly trying to get on all fours!

Got the HV's coming tomorrow to discuss weaning! They sent me a letter saying they're doing the rounds with babies Grace's age.

patito · 10/02/2011 21:28

cinnamon and saoirse It crossed my mind to give her a smack to see how she liked it, but might have ruined my high horse "I don´t do violence" speech Grin .

jodey I like the idea of the muslin square, might give it a go too.

Will speak to DP about meet up, but its a fairly long drive for us with both DC´s and with only 2 wks back dont know if I´ll be able to join or not.

mellymooks · 10/02/2011 21:44

No meetup for me either Sad hope it's lovely though, we'll want to hear all about it.

Got Flynn weighed today 17lb 7oz at 20+1. Can't believe he's nearly 5 months, remembered why I don't go to HV's very often though, they are so patronising, and treat you as if you have no clue what you're doing arghhhh pisses me off Grin

patito am so shocked at that woman!! I would have been furious with her, think you were very calm under the circumstances!

beaditAli · 11/02/2011 10:20

No meet up for me either...... sorry! Am driving too and from Cardiff that week so will be zonked by the end of the week. Tis a long, long way too. Maybe we'll do a northern meet up sometime!??
We want pics of all you lovely ladies with your gorgeous los! Grin

JessemyParkson · 11/02/2011 10:38

Mary rolled over this morning! Yay!

That's brightened my week right up. She had her 3rd set of jabs on Tuesday, and was very bad-tempered on Tues and Weds as a result. And ditto with the swollen leg and temperature chelle

debs I had the same with Mary this week - normally she'd average a poo a day, but this week I've been counting 4+ a day! Eek! Needless to say our dogs were very interested in spending lots of time with her! :o Confused

Oh, and thank you for the sling - it's great!

Re the meet-up, I should be able to make it. I just have to nick find some petrol! :o

Also, please can I have the postcode of the pub, so my satnag I know where to go :)

saoirse86 + Orlaith
cinnamongreyhound + Luke (+ ds1?)
mapletrees + Louis
Jodeybogeypicker + Harlyn
aswellasyou + Imara
jessemyparkson + Mary + DS

cinnamongreyhound · 11/02/2011 11:02

mapletrees I have sent you a message, never done it on here before so don't really know how it works. Let me know if you've got it!

Luke had his peanut butter this morning and he loved it!! Keep checking him now just in case he's reacted to it but he's fine Blush

saoirse86 · 11/02/2011 11:37

About the meet up, I am more than happy to carry on with it but it seems such a shame so many people can't make it. We could look at the dates again if more people could come. Maybe a weekend or just a weekday that's not during half term?

Can come:
saoirse86 + Orlaith
cinnamongreyhound + Luke (+ ds1?)
mapletrees + Louis
Jodeybogeypicker + Harlyn
Jodey's friend + LO
aswellasyou + Imara
jessemyparkson + Mary + DS

Can't come:
Debs75
SeChelles
Lumpybananapuree
BeaditAli
Newmum001
Mellymooks

Maybe:
Patito

Let me know what you think. I'll keep the pub booked anyway and it makes no difference whether we go ahead or not as long as I know a few days before.

saoirse86 · 11/02/2011 11:38

Or we could do it somewhere else that's more convenient for everyone?

saoirse86 · 11/02/2011 11:50

My news now, be warned, TMI coming up...

Orlaith's been extremely sleepy the last few days, having 5-6 hourish long naps rather than her usual 3 45 minute ones.
Then, we were in mothercare yesterday, and she started crying then screaming. I took her to change her nappy and she was midway through a huge hard poo Shock . She was crying so much and clearly in lots of pain so I had to help her by squeezing it out Blush . She was better for a few minutes then it started again and there was more hard poo.
I'm assuming all this is dehydration as she's had dry lips too, so I gave her 5oz of water and she's been a bit better since.

It was so horrible seeing her in pain like that. Those of you whose LO's have been really ill and been in hospital it must've been horrible. Sad

JessemyParkson · 11/02/2011 12:32

Oh poor Orlaith, I had that with DS. It's so heart-wrenching to watch them go through that :(

As far as the meet up is concerned, I'm easy either way tbh!

JodeyBogeyPicker · 11/02/2011 16:32

Me too. It would be lovely to go ahead with our meet but for those who are finding B'ham too far away we could re arrange location if it would mean more could come. My friend lives in Huddersfield so if we were to go further North then that wouldn't be a problem for me. Or we could have two meets?? Grin the one in Brum as planned and then another in a couple of months somewhere else? Best to do it now whilst many of us are still on maternity.

Saoisore that's awful, poor Orlaith. My friend who is coming to the meet has had a few problems with her LO and constipation. What formula do you use? Oh, and how is her tooth coming along? Have no idea how long it takes from them cutting through to full growth. Harlyn's are sooo sharp.

Regards to pooing, since having a little bit of pureed food, he has been pooing 3 times a day rather than once.

SeaChelles · 11/02/2011 19:16

On a personal note: don't rearrange the location for my sake. Am much as I would like to meet you all, Birmingham is a bit too far with a 4 month old for me (plus another commitment has come up anyhow)- however others are right in that we can always organise a more northern meet in a couple of months. I'm sure I can speak for both beadit and banana in that we wouldn't want you to rearrange this one just for the like of us up north! Obviously can't speak for the others that aren't able to come though.

Plus you get Saoirse pub for free for the day! You'd have to pay for somewhere else now etc etc etc - you will all have a great time and I will hopefully catch the next one! Grin
