OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
cinnamongreyhound · 08/02/2011 19:40

They are so different in every way, Luke is more Daddy than me and ds1 is about 99.9% me! It's a very sad day when you realise the creases in their thighs have gone and they have gangly legs :(

This picture is at 8 months, check out his forearms!

I sometimes bite Luke's cheeks but with my lips over my teeth Blush

SeaChelles · 08/02/2011 19:50

OMG he's gorgeous cinammon!!!

MammyG · 08/02/2011 20:38

He is edible cinnamon!
Phoebe had a noisy day today - loved it! She is teething tho and was not her usual sunny self this eve. She is eating like mad. I havent introduced breakfast yet tho as I am worried she is dropping her milk feeds too quickly in preference to food. She doesnt have a big bottle in the morning anyway. DS2 had his 3 year developmental check today. Was so lovely to sit back and watch him interact with someone else. He did really well and I was a total broad grinned beaming mammy!

newmum001 · 08/02/2011 21:03

Grace is a fatty as well, got her weighed 2 weeks ago and she was 17lb 5oz and has gone from the 75th centile to 91st. She was so tiny when she was born (6lb 10oz)!

For those weaning do you give a milk feed before or after food? I've been doing it before but she knows now that she has food at lunch and dinner and seems to be turning her nose up at the bottle.

SeaChelles · 08/02/2011 21:10

Newmum - I currently give milk after dinner. But i give breakfast half way between two feeds.

Olly has dropped any milk at all yet - should he be?

patito · 08/02/2011 21:19

cinnamon He is so cute. DS was also a super chunky monkey but has lost those chubby little thighs now Sad. I also pretend bite both DS and Maia Blush.

So went to the playground with the kids today as it was lovely and sunny. DS was running around playing with the other whilst I slobbed, played with Maia on the bench. DS came to play with some plastercine on the wall next to the bench followed by 3 other kids. The next I heard was a women saying she´d smack one of them if they throw another stone, so looked round to see what was going off and saw the women smaking DS Shock. I confronted her saying she shouldn´t smack other peoples children and her reply was that I should be looking after him better and that she did it very lightly . I mean WTF is that all aboutAngry. I told her she should have asked where his parent were (sat down next to him in this case)and told them what was going off. I was so pissed off I couldn´t speak afterwards. What got me the most is that she didn´t even apologise and turned it round like I was upset about "nothing" as she put it Angry.

Anyway rant over now.

Oh and Maia´s crawling! She´s off, I cant believe it. She ´s been getting stronger and working up to all fours for a few days now and then today she just pootled off. Still doesn´t get too far but Im gonna have to be on my guard soon.

cinnamongreyhound · 08/02/2011 21:33

Ds1 didn't drop any feeds until quite a few weeks into weaning SeaChelles and that was his 11am feed. I don't remember doing it consciously he just never asked for it and then it was lunch time so he had his lunch.

That is totally and utterly out of order patito!!!! I would be absolutely livid! Not sure I would have been able to stop myself punching her in the face smacking her! Exciting about Maia though.

Off to bed for me, night all Grin

JodeyBogeyPicker · 08/02/2011 22:21

OMG patio, I can't believe that happened! What a bloody cheek!!! How dare she lay a single finger on someone else's child! That is bang out of order.

cinammon that pic is lush!!!

Dixiebell · 08/02/2011 22:28

Arlo was weighed today and has dropped from 75th centile to below 50th. HV said it's okay, but I came home and immediately fed him! Still exclusively bf and HV said to carry on. Getting worried about hen weekend coming up as drinking out of beaker not going well yet...anyone else gone straight from boob to beaker?

Arlo 18 + 1

cinnamongreyhound · 09/02/2011 07:54

Not for milk Dixiebell, I used bottles for milk when I have expressed for both boys. Only used a beaker for water, didnt want to waste my precious milk when they haven't quite got the hang if it Wink Never tried myself but give a cup a go if you really don't want to use bottles at all.

Another better night slowly beginning to feel more human. Up at 10.45 and 3 so really only once in what most people think of as the night! He's mega hungry now though and yesterday after having a feed at 8 he was screaming when we got back from the school run for more!

lumpybananapuree · 09/02/2011 09:13

You mean biting them isn't acceptable??? I always bite them. its the best way to tickle! I bite tobys nose off & he takes it back out my mouth & sticks it back on!!

Chelle glad he likes the tigger. looking forward to a slobery thankyou kiss!!

I give milk-solids-milk-solids 2 hourly. That way he's hungry for both. He still takes the same amount of milk. Toby didn't drop his milk until he was 9 months & he still has a morning & bedtime bottle cup!

Patito thats disgusting! I'd never dream of hitting a strangers child. I'd never dream of hitting a friends child come to that, no matter how "light" I've only hit ds1 a couple of times when he's really pushed me!

Right off to the weigh in!!!

mapletrees · 09/02/2011 09:34

I second the OMGs patito. How dare she, that is completely out of order. It's one thing to verbally intervene if a child is doing something dangerous/hurting another child, but to smack them? What planet is she on if she thinks that's ok? And for throwing a stone (presumably not even at anyone) - hardly crime of the century.

On a lighter note, I can't work out whether I'm Envy or not about Maia's crawling Smile. I think she was born on the same day as Louis, and he's still only rolling onto his side and shuffling around in circles. Our house is still so unchild-proofed.. She was an early roller too, wasn't she? So I guess you can expect to have her toddling off in a few months, and then probably running her first marathon by the age of 6 Grin

dixie Louis dropped from the 75th to just below the 50th centile a while ago. He had started out at the 21st so I wasn't too worried and he seems to have stabalised at aroung the 50th now and has always seemed prefectly healthy. We are planning on going straight from boob to beaker, but haven't tried yet so no tips from me I'm afraid, but I'd love to know anything you find helps..

Dixiebell · 09/02/2011 13:15

Okay, been trying the beaker for a while now and Arlo really doesn't like it. Thought I'd see if the bottle got the same reaction, and no, he wolfed down 2oz immediately. First feed ever from daddy! Nice to see he won't starve if I'm not around! I agree cinnamon, it is galling to see that precious milk going to waste, so will keep trying with beaker but only water I think.

Dixiebell · 09/02/2011 13:19

Oh, and anyone else giving ebm, how much does your baby usually take? If we were to leave Arlo with granny for a day I've no idea how many/what size bottles I'd need to leave!

cinnamongreyhound · 09/02/2011 13:27

It's a very different sucking action Dixiebell. I have a picture of dh giving ds1 a bottle and I love it! He hasn't fed Luke as I've only given him a few bottles just to get him used to it and my mum loves it so much he said he's happy for her to do it. As he seems to have set his bedtime at 6 he's always had his last feed on the few occasions we've been out and we're back before he wakes for his night feeds. Dss was ff and dh said one bottle's the same as another and he's done loads! Ds1 didn't have milk in a beaker until I stopped feeding him at 15 months so he then had cows milk from it. Also Luke dropped down this week but has gone from 75th to between 75th and 50th centiles.

Another thing I thought of SeaChelles is that Luke always wakes up if I move him once asleep but if he's in his snowsuit he doesn't. I think it's because he rubs his face on the hood so I tried touching his blanket on his cheek and sure enough he went straight back to sleep. Ds1 used to rub a teddy on his face when he sucked his thumb and couldn't sleep without something to rub on his top lip!

cinnamongreyhound · 09/02/2011 13:52

Sorry missed your other post Dixiebell, Luke takes 6oz at a feed but he's never had more than one at a time, so not sure if he'd need the same number of feeds as normal.

Dixiebell · 09/02/2011 15:23

Thanks cinnamon, that's helpful to know.

lumpybananapuree · 09/02/2011 16:24

16lb 5oz!!! thats what Toby weighed when he was 37 weeks!! Shock

comixminx · 09/02/2011 18:37

Blimey banana I confused myself reading that because I read 37 weeks as meaning you being 37 weeks pregnant! But obviously not Grin.

lumpybananapuree · 09/02/2011 20:11

I would've had rather a large bump & painful birth if I had a 16pounder! Shock

saoirse86 · 09/02/2011 21:27

jodey are you sure you've read your chart right. I assume we all have the same chart, especially us as we only live a few miles apart, and mine shows that 18lb 13oz is over 98th centile and 66cm is 91st cetile. (I only looked because he's a week younger than Orlaith and couldn't believe how big he is! Wink )

Orlaith had her third jabs on monday and only cried for a minute. She was weighed then too at 15lb 13oz so just under the 75th cetile. My niece was only 13lb 3oz at 19+3, she's jumped all the way from 4-9th to 25th centile! Shock What a big girl! Grin

patito I can't believe someone would smack your child Shock . Seeing as she had been bad and her mum wasn't there to tell her off, you should've hit her!!! Wink

Anyway, things about our meet up....
It's booked for Thursday 24th Feb. What time do we want to start from? Some people will need to book train/coach tickets and maybe hotel rooms so will need to know.
I've spoken to my boss about food. We could do something very easy like stew or curry or something for about £3 per head, or a bit of a buffet with sandwiches etc for about £3.50 per head. He said he'll do it for cost price but if there's a bit of profit he'd donate it to the acorns hospice if that's ok with everyone?
If anyone wants a hotel room, there's a hotel nearby that he might be able to get cheaper if anyone's interested.

Orlaith 19+5, 16lb-ish

beaditAli · 09/02/2011 21:41

Wow.......... loads to catch up on just logging Jack's weight: 20 weeks and 17lbs 6oz.

Been stolen from here and onto Facebook by Lumpy and Seachelle! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 09/02/2011 21:45

Don't forget you've got a girls chart saoirse86 and Jodeybogeypicker will have a boys one. I would prefer sarmies and need somewhere to stay probably weds.

mapletrees · 10/02/2011 09:39

Thanks saoirse for organising things. I don't mind what we eat, as long as there's something veggie Smile. cinnamon there's a direct train from Cambridge to Birmingham New Street once an hour - didn't you say your other half works here? You could get him to drop you off in the morning and we could travel up together if you like? Should we make a list of poeple who are coming so saoirse knows how many to cater for? I'll start one:

saoirse86 + Orlaith
cinnamongreyhound + Luke (+ ds1?)
mapletrees + Louis

JodeyBogeyPicker · 10/02/2011 09:59

saoirse86 + Orlaith
cinnamongreyhound + Luke (+ ds1?)
mapletrees + Louis
Jodeybogeypicker + Harlyn

Saoisore I didn't think to check the chart as the HV weighed, measured and plotted onto the graph and then just told me the result. I will double check though just in case but hopefully cinnamon is right and the boys chart allows a little more room on the centile for boys in comparison to girls. He is a big boy and people always comment on how big he looks for 4 months. I don't over feed him at all so i have no idea why he is so big. Maybe its his genes as I was a big baba too Grin. It will be great to see everyone at the meet up and be able to put faces to names of our LO's.
