My sister has put the dates that are available at the pub for February on the calendar here and they're filling up. We can put the available march dates on there too if necessary.

cinnamongreyhound · 11/01/2011 13:57

So, I dropped ds1 off for his first afternoon at the school nursery, he was all smart in his school uniform and very excited about it. I guess I've done a good job that he's a confident little thing that doesn't need mummy but its so hard leaving him with all those other children with only 2 teachers :(
Luke hadn't slept all morning so screamed the place down and then fell asleep after 10 seconds in the car!

patito · 11/01/2011 14:19

cinnamon we bath in the morning as well, (except for the weekends), DP works evenings so helps me out loads to get DS and Maia bathed in the morning and then when Im on my own just have to sort out supper and bedtime.

So what does really really green poo mean???
Maia has been having green poo now for over a week, took her to DRs last week for cold and then again Monday for 4 mth check up but am still left guessing. She´s actually a little under weight due to her cold/sick/poo thingy, but otherwise really lively and alert and super happy.

Also what does Bear mean?

JessemyParkson · 11/01/2011 16:35

Jumping on the meet-up thread, I was planning to bring Mary with me at least. I'll probably leave DS with DH, although they may be car-less...

Depends if I can get my car back on the road by then, and if I'm allowed to travel. I've been told I have to have a minor operation on my tail-pipe Blush so will keep you posted on my availability. I'm hoping to have it sooner rather than later, so that I can come along.

Mary yelled through her jabs today, and has been very unsettled, but smiley for strangers. She's sparko atm (which is unheard of for her!) but I bet that won't last while I get DH from work!

clumsy I'm hoping to train as a doula too! Yay! The more the merrier! lol I had a lovely chat with the jab nurse today, and told her about doulas; she's now thinking of hiring one for her next LO - go me!

patito Mary occasionally has green-poo sessions, but I tend to find that's when she gets a lot of foremilk, and not a lot of hindmilk (she's BF, not sure whether you're BF or FF).

Dammit, she's woken up. Got to go, tty all later x

beaditAli · 11/01/2011 16:49

Marking my spot! Smile

clumsymumluckybaby · 11/01/2011 18:18

jessemypark
when are you thinking of training?
who are you training with?!

im trying to decide atm...and i want to be able to take arlo with me Hmm but mainly its about closeness to where i live unforunatley as i do have a feeling about developing doulas^ even though they meet neither of my requirements ConfusedGrin

Dixiebell · 11/01/2011 18:23

cinnamon, we bathe in morning too. Partly because Arlo's more grumpy in the evening, but mainly it's necessary to clean him up after his morning piping session!! Honestly, this morning there was bright yellow poo all the way down his leg within seconds.

patito, Arlo also has the odd green poo, and I agree with jessemy, it seems to be when he's only had short feeds, so I reckon it's something to do with the makeup of the milk he's had. HV said it was common for bf babies. Does Maia take lots of short feeds? If it's consistently green, maybe she's not latching on properly?

Never thought before Arlo was born there could be so much to say about baby poo..!

Dixiebell · 11/01/2011 18:25

Piping!! I mean pooing. Damn iPhones and their annoying unnecessary corrections. I now have image of Arlo waking up and having a blow on some bagpipes every morning...

saoirse86 · 11/01/2011 18:57

dixie I was starting to think Arlo was very advanced! Grin

cinnamon I tend to do Orlaith's bath in the late afternoon/early evening when I'm running out of ideas to entertain her before DP gets back from work!

patito I was told green poo happened when babies are unwell so it wouldn't be surprising if they go back to normal when she's got over her cold.

Orlaith had her second jabs yesterday. In the waiting room a 12 month old boy came out crying lots and they sat next to us. Orlaith kept looking at him then started crying with not much sound but lots of tears, and kept looking at me like she wanted me to help him. It was so sweet.
After hers we went home and she slept for 2 hours (unheard of for her too jessemy ) and only woke up when I put her in her coat to go out to baby club. Then at baby club she rolled for the first time front to back. It was very exciting for me, especially when all the other mummies (mummys??) said how advanced she seems with her standing lots , desperately trying to crawl and now rolling! Grin

She's so funny today, still very jumpy and her eyes rolling back in her head, moaning and crying a lot and doesn't want to be put down for more than 3 seconds. What is it? To do with jabs maybe?

Orlaith 15+4

JodeyLea · 11/01/2011 19:11

cinnamon that totally makes sense about the banana because he hasn't done a poo today which is very unusual. Feel awful for giving it him now. I'll defo be trying sweet potatoe and carrots in future but not for the next few weeks at least. His digestive system is too sensitive I think. Thanks for the advice x

bananastew · 11/01/2011 19:13

Ollys got his last lot of jabs tomorrow Sad and ds1 has got croup Sad so i'll have two Sad baby boys tomorrow!

Lol at arlo piping!

Olly 19 weeks!

cinnamongreyhound · 11/01/2011 19:59

Don't feel awful JodeyLea, it's often the first thing people give to babies as you don't need to cook it! I love weaning, it's so much fun Grin

Poor boys bananastew!

Funny how different people think, I was thinking of piping icing.

clumsymumluckybaby · 11/01/2011 20:07

i was thinking about a smoking pipe like an american indian or something

im sooo exited DD and i have an 'interview' at a nursery tomorow!!!

newmum001 · 11/01/2011 20:24

Marking my place but not even caught up with the last thread yet so you might not hear from me for a while!

JessemyParkson · 11/01/2011 20:43

Ohhhh, all these babies rolling! Mary rolls back to front if she's on a surface with a slight tilt or give to it, ie on the bed, or the sofa. But on the floor I get nothing from her! [exasperated emoticon]

You can tell she wants to do it, but can't quite figure it out.

Out of curiosity, how do your babies sleep (back, front, side) and how/when did they first roll? I'd have thought that Mary might have figured out the front to back by now, as she sleeps on her front, and has very good support pushing herself up to look around. And if I put her on her back (ie changing mat) she'll wave her legs around and kind-of roll, but if I put her on the floor, she just looks at me as if to say 'not today Mum!'

Hi clumsy I was thinking of training in a couple of month's time - I need to scrape some cash together first. My doula directed me to Nurturing Birth as that's who she trained with, but doula.co.uk also have lists of courses available too.

I'd probably pick NB as the lady who runs them does the whole lot over 3 day intensive courses, and she holds them in various locations. I'm thinking about offering to host a session, as there's a discount for the host...!

saiorse Mary was so ratty this afternoon; she yelled all the way to get DH from work, and she only shut up when I clambered in the back of the car and stuck my finger in her mouth - she won't accept a dummy for more than about 5 mins. Good in some ways, and annoying in others! :o

We give her a bath in the evening - our routine is from 5.30, she gets evening solids, then a bath, then fresh nappy/babygrow, into her sleeping bag, then a story (and sometimes a bible story or prayer from DS) then final milk feed, and she's (usually) out by 6.30, 7 at the latest. Provided she isn't disturbed when we go to bed, she'll sleep through till about 6 the next morning.

Sometimes she'll wake at 12-1ish though. Those nights kill me, as I take a tablet last thing at night to help with my hands, and it makes me very sleepy!

beaditAli · 11/01/2011 21:01

Grin just put The J man in his cot in his own big bed! Wooooooo hooooooooo! I was expecting it to be a lot more difficult but he was flat out within 5 mins! We would have done it sooner had he not been ill over Christmas.
I did make the error of setting his bedding up to face the door but this means that he's going to be looking out at his shelves etc and therefore on the flat side of his head. Should have thought but I'll switch him around tomorrow.
Should I be worried about his night feed and him not settling back to sleep coz of his new surroundings????
On another note: he's only had 17 oz today Sad He weighed 15lbs 10z a week ago and is 16 weeks +1 so I know he should have more but he just never has a bug appetite. Sad Hope it's normal.....? He'll probably have 6oz at 3am ish so that'll equal 23oz in 24 hours which is pretty usual for him. Any thoughts................?

beaditAli · 11/01/2011 21:02

That's 15lbs 1oz not 10oz

beaditAli · 11/01/2011 21:03

And BIG not BUG! Someone needs to locate her specs! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 11/01/2011 21:04

Luke was 15lb 15oz at 16 weeks and is just below 75th centile so bigger than almost 75% of baby boys, you really have nothing to worry about beaditAli! Do your HV not plot his weights on the graph so you can see?

MammyG · 11/01/2011 21:22

jodey Gina Ford has a small book on weaning. Its really easy to follow. You introduce a new food every 3 days so its easy to track what might cause a prob. Its also good at ensuring you get a good mix of flavours etc I used it as a guide for the boys and it just made it all sooo much easier. Also Rachel allens book 'home cooking' has a nice section at the back on baby purees etc.

Ok so am officially exhausted! Phoebe just wont do the night and then this morning wanted to be fed at 5.15am which i did but kept a bit until her morning feed at 7.30. Woke her up and she went for a nap at 9.30/ She only does 40 mins naturally and has to be cuddled to go beyond that but for her midday nap today she just went nuts. She slept 40 mins then when I tried to resettle her she screamed. She wanted a feed then didnt want it! Was exhausted and trying to sleep but too jerky etc to settle. She has never been like that before she was inconsolable! I finally got her off and she slept for over an hour. Settled her at 6.30pm this eve she was so tired. I really hope things change a little as I am suffering from lack of sleep at this stage. feel sorry for my poor boys as they have a massively underperforming mammy at this stage. Also just finding Im anxious and overwrought now and am putting it down to tiredness. Im lucky that generally she is a pleasant happy little pet but I really need sleep now!
Also no sign of her rolling! But I think I need to give her more floor time. Its hard with the other two superheroes constantly whizzing around!
beadit Im having trouble getting a decent amount into Phoebe during the day. She will take on average 4-5oz a bottle and thats not in one go! Then at night she'll guzzle 4oz without a break! Im baffled! And cant get more into her as she gets upset! Her brothers were sinking 7oz in one sitting at this stage. No answers here im afraid!
