Message from sassy34264:

Hi. i am missing everyone 2! Yes everything is fine. i have managed (somehow!) 2 get babies into a routine. 7.30pm bedtime- both of them together. It's heaven and a miracle! Oh no, to the 24th. i don't think i can make it. It's not 100% yet, but pretty sure i will be in Bath. Will let you know for sure next weekend. It is J&I's christening 2mor. Very stressed out at moment, but hopefully all will go well. Take care. X

saoirse86 · 05/02/2011 21:27

I'd been wondering how sassy would do getting Jacob and Isobel into a sleeping routine. Now I'm jealous! Envy

I've managed to get Orlaith into a routine of 10.15ish-5/6, a feed then sleep till 7.30/8. If I put her to sleep before 10 she'll wake at 2 and 6 so I wait it out so I have a better sleep.

TMI..... I'm a bit concerned about Orlaith's poo tonight. It was all green with big white lumps in it and she was really upset about it. What's that all about? I'm worried someone's given her something they shouldn't have. What does their poo look like when they have solids? Confused

Oh and I'm on period number 3 and not happy. They're so heavy now that I have to wear a super plus tampon and night time towel, and I still leak through within a couple of hours!! Angry

Orlaith 19+1

cinnamongreyhound · 05/02/2011 21:40

I was the same after ds1 saoirse86 with my periods, was a bit of a shock! But knew what to expect this time. Not sure but I thought green poo was a sign of dehydration? Luke's poo is exactly the same with solids just with little bits of whatever puree he's had. He is still only going once or twice a week so not a huge difference but I only give him a small amount once a day.

20w+5

mapletrees · 05/02/2011 22:20

saoirse I did a bit of poo research as Louis has done a few interesting ones.. Green ones are generally nothing to worry about - can be caused by too much foremilk if bfing, or a mild gut infection. You only need to worry if they have a fever too. Are the white lumps bits of undigested food? If so, again don't worry (unless it's lots) but if they could be fat then you should probably get it checked out just to be in the safe side. I'm sure the dr would love you to take one of her nappies in Wink

Thanks for passing on sassy's message cinnamon. Good to hear she's doing ok.

JodeyBogeyPicker · 06/02/2011 10:54

Morning all! Had a lovely night out last night and Harlyn was as good as gold for my parents. He woke at 7:30 this morning non the wiser that we had gone out! Bless.

We have to go to our swimming lesson today and we are doing submersion. Not sure if Harlyn will like it, particularly due to him teething and being grumpy at the mo. Can't believe how sharp his little teeth are when he chews on my finger. I'll let you all know how he gets on later.

Off to view another house now x x

saoirse86 · 06/02/2011 12:18

maple don't tempt me! I'd probably be reported to social services for being a nutter!
She's ff and hasn't (to my knowledge anyway) had solids yet. The white bits were very much like the rice in rice pudding. I've never seen baby rice so don't know what it looks like, but it made me think someone has been giving her food. Especially as PILs and SIL had her on friday and it was her first poo since then.

jodey DP used to be a swimming instructor and made all the babies go under but refuses to let Orlaith do it. He's one of those one-thing-for-your-child-another-thing-for-mine kind of parents!

I don't mean to be a thread killer (although not sure that's possible on this thread) but how sad is it that Amanda Holden has lost her baby at 7 months. How awful must that be! Sad

JodeyBogeyPicker · 06/02/2011 12:25

I know, it's so awful and very sad. She hadn't long announced she was pregnant either.

Saisore why doesn't your DP want Orlaith to go under? Is it that bad???? Having serious second thoughts now! Confused.

JodeyBogeyPicker · 06/02/2011 12:28

Having a mega cook-a-thon now! The pears are currently steaming and the sweet potatoe is ready to go on next, followed by the parsnips. I have a nectarine to use up too so may do little research to see if they are suitable or not.

Also, we have got 3rd lot of jabs tomorrow so Harlyn will probably be twice as grumpy and DH is conveniently in London till 9pm Angry

cinnamongreyhound · 06/02/2011 12:55

Baby rice is a powder saoirse86 so definitely not that! Possibly tmi but Luke's poo often looks a bit like cottage cheese, bright yellow with white lumps. If he goes longer between poos it's all one colour and creamy so I assume the milk is better digested! It is awful about Amanda Holden, especially as she lost a baby in May which is why I think they waited so long to announce this pregnancy.

Ds1 went under from quite a young age, we learned to give them some kind of cue so they know it's going to happen and they quickly learn to hold their breaths, don't worry JodeyBogeyPicker.

JodeyBogeyPicker · 06/02/2011 13:38

AAaarrgh! Burned my thumb opening the steamer! I should have thought about storage for this mass of baby puree too! Have filled x3 ice cube trays, 4 tommee tippee stack cups & a tupperware lunch box (using cling film to portion) and now have a throbbing thumb. On top of that, Harlyn is refusing to fall asleep so I'll have to take him out for a drive or else we will have a triple grumpy monkey at swimming! Sunday is defo not the day of rest for a mommy!

Thanks for the reassurance Cinamon fingers crossed he'll either like it or get used to it.

SeaChelles · 06/02/2011 14:51

jodey we dunk olly at least twice every time we go - dont worry! olly thinks its hilarious!

lumpybananapuree · 06/02/2011 18:55

Hi all! Cinnamon thanks for the Sassy update.

We dunk Olly too. They say to blow in their face cos it makes them hold their breath. He cries for a second or two then is fine.

Saoirse Isn't it a shame how you can't trust your in laws. Mine are the same so with Toby, I commented on how I'd changed a nappy of a weaned baby and was shocked to see everything he'd eaten the day before because it doesn't digest properly. They took the hint & didn't do anything against my wishes. The Ollys on his 9th day of being weaned and has had baby rice, baby porridge, carrot, sweet potato, brocolli, parsnip and an organic crisp and its only today that I've noticed a change in his poo

I know Debs is doing BLW but is anyone else? I'm doing a mix so Ollys having puree as his main meal but then I've given him food off our plate too. Its great. He had a brocolli spear last night and a parsnip finger today. He loves it. sucks it to death.

Horribly sad about Amanda Holden! Sad

SeaChelles · 06/02/2011 19:33

Lumpy - we are on week 3 of weaning here and have had, baby rice/porridge/muesli and pureed apple, plus carrot, sweet potato, parsnip, mash, cauliflower and butternut squash (christ! I didn't quite realise how much we'd tried!). We've been having three days of one thing and then switching. However he now has pureed appled and porridge for brekky everyday - must change this soon in case he gets bored....

I must say - his poo's aren't much different appart from being a bit thicker.

Am going for broccoli and perhaps avocado next week....green colours yay!.....[oh shit my white walls are gonna get it emoticon]

Just having a baileys and waiting for the chinese to come, then the diets back on tomorrow.... Sad, gotta do something though am feeling gigantic.

We went to the blue planet aqaurium today and Olly had lots of fun looking at and playing with all the fishies...he fell asleep for the sharks though....! Then we had a nice meal in the pub over the road. Not a bad day all in all.

Lumpy/Beady - will be on and off facebook for a bit - see if I catch you.xxx

Olly - 19weeks today.

saoirse86 · 06/02/2011 19:57

Sorry jodey I didn't mean to worry you. I know it's fine and so does DP, I don't know why he won't let, he's just weird. I'm letting him make the decision on this though as I tend to make all the decisions for her.

I went to my nan's today. My niece (20w+2, still EBF) was sitting on my nan's lap. I was in the kitchen and my mum and sister were watching the tv. I walk back into the room to find my grandad, aunt and uncle crowded round my niece while my uncle was feeding her a f**king custard cream! Shock Angry I shouted to my sister and we both went mad.
We'd literally just had a conversation with them all about how we're not weaning them onto solids yet and that's that. God, I'm getting angry again just thinking about it Angry

SeaChelles · 06/02/2011 20:06

OMG Saoirse! I'd be furious! Even though we ARE weaning - a fecking CUSTARD CREAM!!!

saoirse86 · 06/02/2011 20:26

Exactly! WTF did they think they were doing?! In what world is that a good idea?! So angry!

lumpybananapuree · 06/02/2011 20:38

OMG Shock Shock Shock what planet are they on???????

saoirse86 · 06/02/2011 21:01

I've just told DP and he doesn't seem too bothered. I know it wasn't his child but still. This is exactly why his family do things we don't want, because he hardly reacts to these things. Now I'm even more annoyed Angry Angry

MammyG · 06/02/2011 21:23

Saoirse be sure to tell you inlaws that you went ballistic and may not even let Orlaith with them for while - might give them the heads up!! And I would go mad!

Also having major period - killing me. Woke up last night with the pain. I am wiped.

I didnt hear about Amanda Holden - I was just reading an article about her before I logged on. Poor thing.

Weaning going a bomb here and freezer loaded for the week ahead. Little girl seems ready for 3 meals a day. Have to slow her down a little or she will go off her milk to early.

Cant remember who was asking about high chairs but we got a gift of a chicco one but its from birth and it is super! Phoebe is able to sit properly supported in it. She was slouching so much in our other one it wasnt very comfortable. This one has layers that you take out as they get bigger.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/02/2011 21:23

My mum weaned us at 4 months but not with biscuits! Best to keep Orlaith in your sight!

beaditAli · 06/02/2011 22:00

FFS! saoirse I would have gone mental too! My MIL asked today why I hadn't given Jack ice cream yet! Shock
She WAS actually serious! Shock

Awful about Amanda Holden Sad I didn't know she was pregnant. can't imagine that sort of sadness... the poor lady.

We've not taken Jack swimming yet either. For some reason I'm delaying it Confused I think because he still doesn't seem too fussed about the bath tho i do think he's too tired when I bath him so need to rethink timings a bit. His bedtime is getting earlier and earlier at the mo.....Confused
My niece is 7 and terrified of getting her face wet so I definitely want Jack to get confident in the water.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend!
Going to my slumber now
xxx

Jack 5 months tomorrow Shock

Dixiebell · 06/02/2011 22:31

Was me asking about highchairs. We've ordered a mamas and papas one now to pick up this week. Quite excited. Arlo only just 4 months but it tilts back so hoping he'll be okay. He's quite big anyway. Was almost sitting on his own today - does it count if it's only for about 4 seconds?! Been trying to get him to drink from tommy tippee beaker but not managing to yet, just chokes a bit! Had my mum & sis here for Sunday lunch today, so lovely to see them doting on him.

cinnamongreyhound · 07/02/2011 08:30

I'm so tired! Luke was up at 10.45, 1, 5 and 7. He had 2 good nights at the weekend and I just don't see what the difference is :(. Been in tears this morning, feeling a bit trapped I suppose. I know I can change anything but some days I'm not sure I can do it anymore. I know it will be better when he sleeps through I will cope with it all better. All I need really is some more time, one day a week off would be lovely, even a morning or afternoon would make me feel better. I'm thinking of asking dh what he thinks about giving Luke a bottle in the night so my sleep is not quite as distrupted. Even saying that makes me feel like crying, I managed to feed ds1 myself and I feel I'm failing Luke by even suggesting it (not meant to upset anyone, I just mean that he's alrady not getting so many things I managed to give ds1 bf was the one thing that was the same). Still, things always look worse on a Monday morning!

21weeks

mapletrees · 07/02/2011 09:20

Oh cinnamon. Being knackered does just make everything feel so much worse, but you must know how well you're doing really. I can't imagine having had to go back to work so soon as you did, even if you do get to keep Luke with you. You've already done brilliantly for him with the breastfeeding, and giving him a bottle at night would in no way be failing, you could even see it as nice for him and his daddy to have some nice, quiet feeding time together in the night.. Things may not be the same as with your ds1, but all of you on here with more than one child are finding that, and how could it be really.. Luke doesn't know any different, he wont feel like he's missing out, because he isn't. Hell, you've even changed your career so you get to be with him instead of going out to work - even your ds1 didn't have that Smile
