Well, hello again all, hope all is well with everyone... Things might be hotting up here on the weaning front as Aphra has just this evening showed the most definite interest in the contents of my plate we've seen so far... Nothing actually eaten yet but I'm sure now that it'll happen soon!

Aphra 22 weeks plus 2, I think

beaditAli · 05/02/2011 09:28

mmmmmmmmmmm Wine Grin Wine Grin Wine
cinnamon maybe we should all order a lovely half price poo suit and see if it's a Mothercare curse!? Hmm
No soaps here i'm afraid but the rugby was BRILLIANT tho I only got 10 minutes of Jonny Wilkinson Sad

Last time I predict the night ahead! After DH's very long sleep on Thursday night I was up no less then 4 times last night! The littlesod poor lil man seems a little bit bunged up. I'd like to blame beerbrains but hasn't your cold gone now lovely???
Maybe he slept really well after his day of injections??? Hmm
What's anyone doing this weekend? Dinner out for us tonight but seems so strange that I now look forward to something like that so much when we used to do it all the time and totally take it for granted.
Anyway..... mmmmmm Wine Grin Wine!!!!!

Jack ....... beerbrains how old is he again?? Wink Smile

beaditAli · 05/02/2011 09:29

Mmmmmmmm quite a picturesque thread now isn't it!? Surely we'll get Valentine's hearts to play with too! Smile

JodeyBogeyPicker · 05/02/2011 10:01

Beadit I too had to watch the rugby due to DH being a player himself! Booo! The only decent looking bloke was Mr Wilkinson, the rest looked proper rough! Especially the captain who is marrying into the royal family. couldn't believe how squiffy his nose was.

I too love my soaps, I watch them all including Hollyoaks. I make Harlyn's bath at 6pm during The Simpsons so that I can watch Hollyoaks while he has his last feed. i just love it. Also finding Brendan a little sexy Blush.... wrong, I know.

Me & DH are going to a wedding party tonight so my mom and dad are baysitting. hopefully Harlyn will be fast asleep by the time they come and be non the wiser. DH is driving so i'll be able to have on or two glasses of Wine.

went to look at a nursery yesterday. It really hit me about how horrible its going to be leaving him with strangers for two days a week! felt quite emotional when I left.

Cinnamon, in your honest opinion, whats the main difference between a baby going to nursery day care centre or going to a child carer at their home?

beaditAli · 05/02/2011 11:25

jodey the squiffy boy is from my home town and went to school with loads of my friends. He didn't look that wonky 15 years ago!!! Grin
Simon Shaw is quite tasty when he's not hiding under his helmet!
Enjoy your do tonight! Wine Grin

lumpybananapuree · 05/02/2011 11:35

Jodey SERIOUSLY????????? Brendan is far from sexy he's hideous & slimey ugh!

A 3rd vote here for struggling with 2 and tiredness. FriggFRIGG I hate that i can only please one at a time. Hopefully as they get a bit older it'll change. Can't imagine what you crazy ones with more than 2 do!

Olly yummed up an organic carrot stick today! only a bit of gagging! Gonna try a stick of parsnip tomorrow when we have our roast! He also slept 6.30-5.30, had a feed & went back to bed till I went in to him at 7.30 Shock I feel fab!!!!

JodeyBogeyPicker · 05/02/2011 13:54

lumpybananpuree that's fab! Its amazing what a good night's sleep can do.

As for Brendan,I don't know what it is!!!! I first thought he was hideous but the more I watch it, the more I think I would, lol!!!! His character is vile without a doubt but there is something about that tash that has started to catch my eye Grin which is strange as I don't like facial hair (apart from a bit of gruff stubble). can i blame this guilty crush on my hormones Hmm

Beadit not sure which one he was, may google him. I much prefer a rugby player's body to a footie player though. My man has to have bigger thighs then me Wink.

Question for you experienced mothers. How long can a bout a teething go on for? Obviously they have many teeth to come but when one is coming, will there be a teething break before the next one? Harlyn is being very clingy atm and can get very upset 3/4 times a day. I'm assuming its his teeth.

18 weeks + 1

JodeyBogeyPicker · 05/02/2011 14:42

than me, sorry! Grammar typo

Debs75 · 05/02/2011 14:44

Jodey my nephew teethed for 5 months before he got his first tooth. It was a nightmare, he drooled, winged, stopped sleeping and cried so much. My dd1 though teethed for a day then would pop a tooth. So much easier, we often didn't know she was teething

JodeyBogeyPicker · 05/02/2011 15:17

He has got two teeth debs but has been chewing his fists and drooling for weeks. He's only been grumpy the last two days! I didn't know whether its a coincident or if its the the new teeth that is making him so clingy and upset. Once the teeth are through, should it stop hurting???

JessemyParkson · 05/02/2011 15:21

Just popping in to say Hi quickly :)

Mary teeths intermittently. She'll be fine for a couple of days, then we'll get a couple of days where she's ratty, munching on her finger, grinding her gums, and just generally not her usual chirpy self. Then she's fine again!

Ooh, ooh, Mary slept in her BIG cot last night!

DS and I weren't impressed with watching the ruggers with DH, so we watched some Harry Potter in my bedroom. But as Mary usually sleeps there in her bedside cot, I thought what the heck, let's try her. And if she wakes up, then hey ho, the film should be over and she'll go back in her small cot.

But no, she proved me wrong, and slept nice and long to 7ish this morning!

Darn it, I was going to say something else, but it's gone again!

bearbrains · 05/02/2011 16:02

No rugby for us but my LO went to sleep at 9pm and slept til 6:15am - result! Our cold went a while ago Beady so it's not our fault this time! Don't get the reference to Jack's age tho ... am I being really thick?
Is it cos I've answered people when I sshouldn't? Soz 'bout that! Grin

FriggFRIGG · 05/02/2011 16:03

jodey DD teethed consistantly for 7 months, until she had all her teeth...it went:

grumpy,dribbly,screaming,no sleeping,no eating,insanely high temp,
teething...oh a tooth,next day,teething again,twas a nightmareGrin

although with my best friends littleun, she'd be a bit grumpy,,you look in her mouth, and theres a tooth!Smile

FriggFRIGG · 05/02/2011 16:04

bearbrains...have i missed something?

who are you?!!Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 05/02/2011 16:14

Luke has only had 1 feed the last two nights instead of his usual 2 and it makes a huge difference!!

Yuck to Brendan too JodeyBogeyPicker!!! I'm not sure it's possible to find a man with bigger thighs than me, dh is very jealous of my thighs and loves them too!! I think home based child care is just more relaxed, it's more like home than going to a nursery that tends to be more structured. Plus I think they get more one to one time with an adult and parents form better relationships as they always see the same person.

Just typical beaditAli, poor you!! I like the idea of us all synchronising outfits!! My ds1 and lumpybananapuree's ds1 have the same top Grin

Luke screamed for the first half of our trip to the dinosaur park. So unlike him and I tried everything I could think of. I then went into the toilet and noticed he'd done a poo as soon as I changed it he stopped crying and was asleep in minutes! He hardly ever poos and I usually notice so he's never left in it but if guess that he doesn't like it much! Other than that we had a nice day, dh should be home in next few minutes.

cinnamongreyhound · 05/02/2011 16:18

Bearbrains is a rl friend of beaditAli friggFRIGG, joined us a little while ago although her lo, Daisy, was born in October.

FriggFRIGG · 05/02/2011 16:25

Aahhh, well a belated Heeloooo then bearbrains

(p.s. i like your name! Grin)

mellymooks · 05/02/2011 18:33

Hello lovelies,

Welcome bearbrains I missed your arrival too!

frigg Thanks for reassurance on telling older ones will do tomorrow! Seems like it's all I say at the mo, though I'm feeling slightly more human today as Flynn stayed up with his Daddy last night and I went to bed crazy early so got 3 hours sleep before he even came to bed, then usual crappy few hours but then at 7am he was really awake and I took him down to DP and I went back to bed and slept
till 10am!! God had more sleep last night than I've had in last 4 months, am going to to do the same tonight before it's back to another week of no sleep....

In my desperation for sleep I've tentatively tried Flynn on baby rice (he def not ready!) and have tried expressing my milk and giving to him in a bottle and a beaker , no joy he won't take either, so looks like I'm just gonna have to try and hang in there a few more weeks and then try solids again.

Been pre-occupied last few weeks as me and DP finally been discussing getting married!!

lumpybananapuree · 05/02/2011 18:39

bearbrains aka beerbrains if you read like me!!

beerbrains you're not being thick! Beadit is! We have a thing that everyone forgets to do where we put name and age of baby at the end of the post. She obviously can't remember how old Jack is!!

Just waiting to be picked up. Taking Toby to the panto. Not sure how he'll get on. he's normally going to bed now!

Olly 22 weeks (like that!)
