Bloody hell - looks like I wrote a novel! Blush

beaditAli · 11/01/2011 21:23

Evening cinnamon
Yeah HVs plot it. He's just under the 75th for weight and bang on the 98th for length.
I just know so many people who's babies take so much more and they're so much younger. Hmm

beaditAli · 11/01/2011 21:26

x posts mammy you should be in bed girly!! Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 11/01/2011 21:30

One of the plus points of bfing you can't see how much they get so don't worry about it Wink. I honestly wouldn't worry if friends babies are drinking more he sounds like a happy little man. I looked on babycentre website they say 700ml-1litre per 24hrs for 2-6 month olds, not sure of conversion. Very similar to Luke, just under 75th for weight and just under 98th for length but he has quite a small head just above 50th.

I thoroughly recommend Annabel Karmel's top 100 baby purees for weaning recipes, it's great!!

beaditAli · 11/01/2011 21:58

Hee hee my little tete de melon is above the 98th for heeeeeeed circumference Blush

newmum001 · 11/01/2011 22:04

Is anyone around? I feel a bit useless asking this but how do i take Graces temperature with a digital thermomitor? Where do i put it, in her ear or armpit or somewhere else?? She's got a really bad cough and cold and i'm getting a bit worried. She feels cold and clammy, do i only have to worry if her temperature is high or if it's low aswell? Also what should a normal temperature be? Sorry to ramble but shes never really been ill before so i don't know what to do!

beaditAli · 11/01/2011 22:11

Armpit newmum you ok honey?

beaditAli · 11/01/2011 22:13

Above 38 is considered high. Feel the back of her neck with the back of your hand. You should be able to tell if she's roasting. Also, is her tummy really hot?

beaditAli · 11/01/2011 22:16

I think below 36 is considered low but try googling it as I'm no expert at all.

newmum001 · 11/01/2011 22:19

Thanks beadit it was 36 so not high i don't think. She really scared me then!! She seems ok now and is smiling her head off in her bouncy chair! Her cough is a bit scary though although she keeps laughing after a coughing fit the little weirdo! I'll take her to the doctors tomorrow i think just to be on the safe side though!

beaditAli · 11/01/2011 22:19

Found this: www.askbaby.com/fever-and-high-temperature-in-children.htm

beaditAli · 11/01/2011 22:22

They do things like this all the time! Jack had a weird spell today when he was a bit shaky and his chin was quivering but I think I'd dumped him on the floor too quickly after waking and he was drowsy and a bit spun out.
I'd definitely o to the docs if you're stil worried tomorrow. x

clumsymumluckybaby · 11/01/2011 22:22

i think bead is right about the temps.

could be just a nasty cold, but if you feel like shes really odd,as in, not herself, take her to a&e,they wont mind if it's nothing,i promise.Smile

clumsymumluckybaby · 11/01/2011 22:23

JodeyLea · 11/01/2011 22:49

Its a worry newmum when they aren't well. hope she is back to her normal self soon.

Will defo have to get on Amazon and have a look at the recommended baby weaning books and recipes for when I try again. I think I was trying to rush it as he is a milk guzzler and I was convinced it would help with his reflux and colic as it did with my friend but obviously every baby is different and I just don't think his tummy is ready for solids. I've just got another prescription of infant gaviscon to try and reduce the amount he is sick. cinnamon did you start your weaning or did you decide not to in the end. You have probably already posted about this so sorry if you have to repeat yourself.

As for stats, Harlyn last week moved from the 50th to the 75th centile for weight. I'm a little concerned, at 14 weeks should his weight gain be stabilising rather than moving up a centile???? He loves his milk and guzzles 7/8 ounce without a break. If I try and wind him after 4 ounce, he screams. As for height, the last time he was measured for length, he was in the 91st and I haven't got a clue about his head.

Managed to get him to bed at 10pm tonight Grin so that's half hour earlier than normal which is good. Hopefully by this time next week, it will be half 9 and so on.

Right, off t subscribe to weight watcher online now as I'm going to be Matron of Honour at my best friends wedding in December this year and want to get my baba weight off. I bloody hate diets as I lurve my food but it has got to be done. Wish me luck.

JodeyLea · 11/01/2011 22:55

clumsy not bad at all. they soon grow too big to sleep snuggled up on your lap so make the most of it. Harlyn has been in his own room for a few weeks now as he totally outgrew his moses basket. We had him in bed with us for a couple of weeks but I just couldn't sleep properly. not because I thought I would roll on him but I because my Dh falls into such deep sleeps, I thought he probably would. Harlyn sleeps so much better in his own room but I have to have both his door and my door open so I can see his cot. If he wakes before 7am I always bring him into our bed for snuggles Grin.

cinnamongreyhound · 12/01/2011 00:32

I didn't post JodeyLea as I'm still pretty undecided! Dh and I had a long talk and we decided that we'll try him with veg first, if he spits it out/looks unhappy about it for more than a couple of days we'll stop and tell them we're pulling out or at least that he's really not ready for solids yet. If he's happy then we will carry on as planned. I cooked carrot tonight so we will see!! I think because I waited with ds1 and it worked so well I'm more reluctant.

Hope grace is feeling better soon newmum001, you've been very quiet recently!

Dixiebell · 12/01/2011 02:55

Hi all, newmum, hope grace feeling better.

Question for you all, do you feed your babies to sleep at night? I always give Arlo a feed immediately before putting him into his cot. It means he is practically asleep when I put him down, sometimes he wakes slightly then goes back to sleep within minutes. Never have a problem with him crying or anything (at night, daytime is a different matter). I've read though that I shouldn't be doing this, should wake him up a bit before putting him down, so he has to settle himself to sleep. This seems silly though, and a bit cruel to wake him when he goes down so easily if I don't! Am I storing up problems for the future? Can't I just keep on feeding him to sleep at night forever?!

Dixiebell · 12/01/2011 03:01

clumsy - Arlo watch latest: just watching the last series of 24 and there's a character called Arlo. I've not finished watching yet, but fear he's going to turn out to be a double agent working for the Russians. Nobody tell me what happens if you've seen it!! My sis and bil asked us if that's where we got the name from! It's not. What a great story tho - we named you after a minor character in series 8 of an American drama about terrorists...Hmm
