Wow that was huge sorry!

newmum001 · 13/01/2011 13:56

Chelle, i would also love a nap. In fact i would very much like to sleep for a week, possibly waking every now and then for food!!

I was just about to brag how Grace had fallen asleep in her bouncy chair while i ate my dinner, she was on the table in it and when i looked up she was asleep. But alas she was playing tricks and next time i looked up she was eyeballing me and grinning her head off. I did however get a pick of the "pretend" sleep. I'll put it on facebook later, she looks very convincing!

Chelle1986 · 13/01/2011 14:00

Oh cinammon - dont be silly. Everyone loses there temper sometimes...

I personally dont disagree with smacking - it never did me or DP any harm, and don't know what stance I will take on it with Oliver later in life. But you shouldn't feel guilty - you explained why and he is old enough to understand your explaination as far as I can see. Periods do funny things to people. Smile

Maybr just talk to DP about it and talk to DS1 again later to make sure he knows you are sorry etc??

Cinnamon - I also wanted to ask you how the weaning was going? Do you do it after a bottle or during etc? And do you mix formula/bm with everything you give Luke?

Also wanted to ask everyone if they still get any twinges in there tummy from time to time? Mines been a bit sore every now and again - bit achey?

Newmum - sod waking for food! Would rather sleep!

newmum001 · 13/01/2011 14:03

Cinnamon i wouldn't feel too bad about it! He was really testing you and you had other stuff going on aswell. It was a one off and he won't even remember it tomorrow. He knows he was being a bit naughty and he knows you're sorry. Id draw a line under it and not mention it again. Maybe tell your DH though incase DS mentions it. I also got my period yesterday Sad it is not fun!

newmum001 · 13/01/2011 14:06

Chelle, i get what feels like baby kicks. I must admit i was shitting myself a bit but came on yesterday so am not preggers yay! I knew it absolutely couldn't be baby kicks anyway but i'm slightly baffled as to what it is! I don't tend to get aches, but maybe your uterus is still contracting back. I have absolutely no idea how long this should take but it could be a possible cause.

cinnamongreyhound · 13/01/2011 14:24

He hates it chelle1986!!! The EAT study people recommend that you try in the middle of a feed but if I stopped half way through a feed he'd scream his head off! I have been trying between feeds but he hasn't even eaten a whole spoonful yet. He opens his mouth as he does for everything as he is constantly chewing on everything but he then spits most of the food out and won't open his mouth again! He's had carrot and apple so far not mixed with bm just pureed but he doesn't like either.

I have cramps like after pains often when I feed but my HV warned me that was a side effect of the coil. One thing I did get after I had ds1 was cramps when I ovulated, was more painful than when I had a period.

This is my first one since November 2009 newmum001, and I'm still totally bfing so was a bit of a shock but explains why I've been feeling crappy the last few days.

clumsymumluckybaby · 13/01/2011 14:54

oh cinnamon...its not so bad,he was really testing, and its not like you beat him! you smacked him, once, draw a ine under it,and try not to feel too guilty (i bet he wont do that again for a while anyway!)

and thats coming from the lentil weaving, sling wearing co-sleeping mother, that once also (lightly) smacked dd and felt so terrible i told a hv...they laughed.

id smacked her hand when she'd gone for a hot cup of teaBlush

saoirse86 · 13/01/2011 15:28

cinnamon I also don't agree with smacking but then this is my first child so I've never been tested yet, and can't say I'll never do it. My mum hit my sister and I once and got so upset she put us in our playpen, shut the door and cried for about an hour! I also think that a child whose mum doesn't smack them probably has more of a sense of how stressful a situation that must have been to end up being smacked. And I definitely think it was a good idea to apologise to him and explain why it happened, and that should probably be the end of it.

newmum I am by no means an expert on sleeping babies but Orlaith generally has 3 naps each lasting 30 mins to an hour, occasionally they're longer. She has her last nap at about 7-8 and there's no way I could cut that out. She gets far too grizzly and would end up working herself into a right state.
I try to keep her last nap late-ish because I actually prefer to put her to bed later. DP and I like to have about the same amount of sleep as she does, so it makes sense for me to go to bed with her and wake up with her. I've never had quiet evening time since having her so I don't worry about it.
The only thing I can think of is either encouraging her to have her last nap a bit earlier, or wake her up part way through so she's not sleeping so much then.
In terms of her crying when you leave the room, Orlaith used to do that too. TBH I might have been a bit of a bad mum because I'd just leave her for up to maybe 3 or 4 minutes while I did something and she just got used to it. Now she doesn't usually worry unless I'm gone for maybe 20-30 mins (like when I'm getting ready in the morning), and usually she just goes to sleep.

clumsy I'm definitely going to get that book if I have another child. It was 68 hours from first contraction to her appearing and I definitely don't want that again!!

saoirse86 · 13/01/2011 15:28

Sorry for the HUGE post! Blush

Orlaith 15+6

saoirse86 · 13/01/2011 16:08

Oh I forgot to whinge say that I'm on my second period now. It's gone like this:
7 weeks - spotting for 2 days
12 weeks - proper period for 6 days
14 weeks - spotting for 2 days
15 weeks - the heaviest period ever for 6 days... so far...

And chelle I don't think you have anything to worry about in terms of swimming costumes!
Have you decided when you're getting married yet?
I asked DP when we're going to do it (we've been engaged for 15 months) and he laughed in my face Sad !

Chelle1986 · 13/01/2011 16:37

No saoirse I really do - I look gross! Yukky! Bleurgh!!! And yes we hope to get married in 2012 - but nothing definate yet! Just book a date for yours and tell DP when it is! Grin

Glad someone else has had some spotting - is a pain in the arse! I think mine is due to my implant though. TMI but am sick of ruining perfectly good knickers!

OP posts:
Chelle1986 · 13/01/2011 16:39

clumsy - i think the smacking your end was prob just a reflex - so defo nothing to feel guilty about there, just like cinnamon shouldnt beat herself up about it.

mellymooks · 13/01/2011 16:54

Hello everyone, am severely emotional today, wondering if maybe my periods are going to start again too....or maybe it's just the devastation at learning I will probably have to have an operation on my bits sinking in.

I too could never say I won't smack, but am determined to try my best not to, I was smacked alot as a kid and it did affect me, I want to try and save Kaesha and Flynn from those kinds of memories but I know never to say never! I have been amazed at my patience since having kids though, I'm certainly not as patient in any other part of my life!

saoirse86 · 13/01/2011 16:56

chelle don't be silly, you look good in the pics I've seen.
I had spotting and bleeding for 2 1/2 years so ruined lots of knickers, and now only have black ones!

mellymooks · 13/01/2011 16:58

saoirse I've been engaged 6 years and still waiting..........!

clumsymumluckybaby · 13/01/2011 18:01

melly that'll be another thing to add to the list then...
i hope you are ok about your op...i mean im sure it will be fine, but (maybe tmi) how did you know there was something wrong?we've had sex once since arlo Blush and it was uncomfortable at best...and i still havent looked, since i looked.(if that makes any sense)

oh,and at least all you guys are fucking engaged...SadGrin

p.s. arlo fell asleep 10mins ago-he's been up since about 5-6am ish Shock

mellymooks · 13/01/2011 18:19

hey clumsy tmi alert ahead - I have a kind of flap sticking out that wasn't there before and it is very red and sore looking, doc said is basically a whole fleshy bit that should have gone in when I was stitched up but because I was so insanely bruised and swollen I didn't get stitched quite right and this bit has ended up outside rather than in IYSWIM. She said they may just want to cut this flap off and stitch up that little bit, but she said all of it is very lumpy and they may want to put me under completely and redo the whole lot......
We haven't even attempted sex is the last thing on my radar at the mo, took me about 10 months to get my mojo back last time and my bits weren't half as traumatised as this time round!
Luckily I have a very understanding man Wink

P.S. Flynn been the opposite today and napping lots more than usual!

clumsymumluckybaby · 13/01/2011 18:27

ahh, okay well im not that bad down there, think most of it is lack of mojo(also v understanding manGrin) i'd want to be knocked out! it fucking hurt when they stitched me up afterwards!good luck....sorry im a bit rubbish, never know what to say in these situations...err,good luck mellys fanjo!Grin

i can hear sky upstairs, she's supposed to be going to bed,but she keeps saying

'what doin' daddy, why sittin' there daddy, why not talk daddy,DADDY,i need you daddy...

newmum001 · 13/01/2011 19:05

Aww clumsy she sounds so cute!

Melly i would be begging for them to knock me out for the op. The only bit i really remember about labour was the stitching up afterwards, oh my god it hurt so bad! I was caining the gas and air more in that 10 minutes than i did in my whole labour. And trying to go for a wee for the next two weeks Shock, that pain will live with me forever!

Looks like Grace will be in bed shortly, she's exhausted with this cold. I'm assuming i'll be up in the night with her tonight, it breaks my heart seeing her so poorly. She just had a major coughing fit and screamed the house down afterwards! It was horrible. I'll be taking her back to the doctors tomorrow i think.

clumsymumluckybaby · 13/01/2011 19:12

yes,cute...and still AWAKE.

newmum001 · 13/01/2011 19:17

At least she's entertaining! How old is she?

Chelle1986 · 13/01/2011 19:37

Well the Ollmeister is in bed, time to hopefully (please, please, please, please!) chill out for a couple of hours before I go to bed. DP has offered to get up with him tonight and in the morning as he is off tomorrow.

He hasn't slept since he woke from his last nap at 3:30pm so theoretically he should sleep relatively well...but you know what they say about theories..... Hmm

Aw melly - it'll be ok. Just look at it as though once its done you can hopefully get back to normal and start swinging from the lampshades having a normal love life again.

clumsy - sounds like Skye may be a handful tonight! Grin

And saoirse/melly - I waited 6.5 years to get the ring on my finger! Getting down that aisle ASAP!

oLLY - 15+4

Hi : )

not had chance to catch up proper yet. I'm so sure I need my eyes retesting because I'm getting really bad headaches after using the computer. I ware glasses just for reading and using the computer but my eyes are really starting to hurt again. Must get this checked!

Maria-Ann has loads of naps during the day but they are only for 15-30 mins at the most. She has never self settled even though I have tried. She will only nap in my arms and I try to transfer her into the bouncer chair she usually wakes up. I've tried putting her in the cot at 9pm after her feed but she will wake 2 hrs later then I'm up most of the night with her waking ever 1-2 hrs. I find the only thing that works is if I put her in her cot between 11-12pm and then she will do 4 hrs have a feed and if I'm lucky she will go back off for 3-4 hrs but only if I then put her in her rocking chair.

My periods are all over the place but I'm on the pill so I should expect this really but it's so annoying. I recently thought I was pregnant because I also keep getting weird feeling in my stomach but I guess as others have said it's just my uterus going back to normal.

Fed up today, my fridge freezer decided to brake and there is no way I can afford to by one outright. Plus the vat has gone up! I wouldn't mind my microwave broke the other wk. So now all my frozen food is with my next door neighbour. I can't get one out of my catalogue as my credit report aint good due to an unpaid hospital parking fine of £10 which my O/H forgot to pay and now they want £150, I wouldn't mind but where he parked did not have no parking sigh and everyone parks there plus it was when I ended up in hospital because of my hydronenephorsis during pregnany so thats the last thing of his mind.

Sorry moan over.
