Thanks debs75 it looks great - but have managed to pick one up cheapish - thank you though! So Jessemy its all yours!

We have lots of rolling going on here - none from back to front yet - but everytime we pop him on his tummy he ends up back on his back!

He's still very whiney - just can't seem to amuse him! Smiley when you play with him or pay him attention but just whinges otherwise!

Thanks for the advice clumsy - have managed to pick a nice red one up to match my coseytoes!

Mapletrees - will defo look in to it - thanks for the recommendation.

I second that rule clumsy :o

saiorse Mary's also found her voice and has taken to screeching and squealing if she's not happy with her situation - usually when she's not being paid attention to, or is frustrated!

mcfee · 20/01/2011 11:49

bananastew we have the musical seahorse too and I think it has actual magical powers! We don't use it for going to sleep with but whenever she's in a paddy it calms her right down in no time!

cinnamongreyhound · 20/01/2011 12:56

saoirse86 I think it depends on the child, ds1 had a problem with 2 teeth but other than that was fine. One of the little girls I childminded had hers very late (only had 6 teeth at 2) and she had horrendous nappy rash when a tooth was coming, her bottom (cheeks- not sure how else to describe) was always cracked and bleeding. As soon as the tooth broke the gum the rash went. It's usually just while it's coming through the gum. They usually have all 20 by 2-2 1/2. As a rule they get the bottom middle two, top middle two, followed by the outer bottom and top then first molars, canines and then second molars.

I agree bananastew, ds1 gets 1/2hr in the morning before I take my minded children to school and then depending on which children I have after school it's on for between 3hr and 30mins but I prefer it to be less. We always watch the Simpsons together but otherwise I really try not to have it on. It does make them more grumpy in my opinion as they zone out and there then incapable of playing on their own for a while afterwards! Ds1 didn't watch tv at all until he was over 2, I really don't understand people who have the kids TV channels on all day. There are things I want to watch for one thing Wink

Luke whinged at 10 but didn't actually wake up but when he woke for a feed and I checked the time is was 4am Shock he then slept again until 8 Grin. I don't feel any better for it though!

Debs75 · 20/01/2011 13:01

Congratulations on the tooth Orlaith.

Jessemy yes if you want it make me an offer.

We are gradually getting better nights and I cab even put her down in bed somenights and she stays asleep. She has her 3rd jab next Thursday so it will be very interesting to see if this good sleep is disturbed.

I'm glad the Riven thread has got so much media coverage. It is disheartening to be in that kind of situation and not getting the respite you need

newmum001 · 20/01/2011 15:54

I'm very jealous that my seahorse doesn't have magical powers like the others Grin it's one of Grace's favourite toys but doesn't calm her down or send her to sleer Grrrrr!

I'm going to try and get Grace to nap in her cot during the daytime from next week (need to get some curtains for her room first) as i cannot keep taking her out in the pram to go to sleep. She's never found it easy falling asleep and there is usually much crying and shouting before she eventually does go off! I've been taking her out in the pram up to three times a day as it's easier and less stressful but i don't want her relying on it. She's going into nursery when i go back to work and somehow i don't think the pram thing will be an option. I have a feeling it will be a tough week next week.

Chelle1986 · 20/01/2011 19:27

We don't have the seahorse - we just have normal gloworm that looks like a little elf! It does calm him down when in a paddy like you say newmum, but haven't tried getting him to sleep with it yet, as like some others he falls asleep in my arms at night after his last feed then I pop him in his cot.

We have been having some better sleeps I guess - but am not reading too much in to it at the minute as am sure it will all go to shit as soon as I get happy about it! He went down at 7 tonight after some porridge, a bath, a massage and a full bottle. So I can literally do no more!

DP on lates tonight so all on my own. Also on lates Sat and Sun....yay...not! Feel like we never get to spend any time together anymore what with work, the baby, his football, his stupid video games, his exams, etc etc etc. I don't want to say anything because I don't want to be selfish. He does go out to work everyday afterall. But am finding it hard at the moment being on my own al the time.

Looking forward to my sling arriving and having a go! Also travel cot came today so maybe mum can have Olly for a night soon.

Chelle it's so hard isn't it. Grace tends to be up till 10ish most nights and i go to bed at the same time usually as i'm constantly exhausted so me and DP don't ever spend time on our own together.

It's my brothers 30th in Fed so we're having a night out, Grace is staying at DP's mums over night. I'm really really looking forward to it. I will be getting extremely drunk, i know a hang over isn't going to make looking after Grace any easier but my god i can't wait for a good drinking session!!

beaditAli · 20/01/2011 20:04

chelle another parcel to look forward to from Jack! Smile

beaditAli · 20/01/2011 20:15

Do you think Olly would like a Leeds Utd top??? Wink

beaditAli · 20/01/2011 20:16

Apologise even! Biscuit

Chelle1986 · 20/01/2011 20:17

Chelle1986 · 20/01/2011 20:18

beaditAli · 20/01/2011 20:20

Joking! As if we'd have one! Sheff Wed is Dh's team Sad
Address is on there! Posted today to Olly Wolly! Hope you've had a better day today. Let me know how he sleeps after his massage! Smile

JessemyParkson · 20/01/2011 20:22

Last night I ended up putting Mary on her back (she's always slept on her front till now) and she stuffed her fingers in her mouth and soothed herself back to sleep. Time? 1.30am! I was so knackered today!

I've put her on her front again tonight, but when if she wakes up tonight, then I'll try that again.

Mary's starting to recognise the evening routine though, as for the past 2 nights when I put her in her sleeping bag, she's started protesting and kicking her feet!

debs I've inboxed you re the sling. :)

beaditAli · 20/01/2011 20:23

I am getting really worried again about Jack's flattening head. I don't want to use the Lilas Kudis pillow now that he's in his cot and it seems to have worsened in that short space of time Sad
Any advice out there?? Not sure that the NHS do anything and clinics cost a fortune Sad

bananastew · 20/01/2011 20:39

Better day here. On one evil tantrum when we had to leave my mum & dads & I don't mind that cos he loves them and I love that!

I've ordered yet another sling! You know the buggy obsession, I've got a sling obsession. Its a hungry caterpillar wrap sling from victoria slinglady on facebook! I'd do a link but I'm rubbish at stuff like that!

Help me out. I opened a bottle of wine last night. Do I finish it tonight and have a night off tomorrow or do I spread it out and have another glass tomorrow but then have a drink on sat too so have alcohol 4 nights in a row! (I'm not an alcoholic) Wink

newmum001 · 20/01/2011 21:08

Bit of a strange one, Grace's feeding has been really up and down recently (since she's had a cold) She used to drain 5-6 8oz bottles a day, now she's doing about 5-6 6oz bottles which i know isn't a massive difference but sometimes she'll do 4oz and give up but she's waking up really crying and i can only assume she's hungry. We've started giving her Hungry Baby formula for her last bottle as she's waking up so upset and this seems to help. However she will drain this one in under 5 mins, the only bottle in a day that she'll finish. Is it possible she's gone off the taste of the other milk? Thats probably a really silly question but i don't understand why she'll finish that one and non of the others. I suppose she might just know that this is her last one before bed so she needs to finish it but it's just got me a bit baffled!

cinnamongreyhound · 20/01/2011 21:13

beaditAli I will try and fine some pics of ds1's head when he was a baby it was pretty flat!! I haven't forgotten about the picture of Nelly either just have to sift through as o don't have a specific folder for pics of her just in with all others.

Pleased for those who've had better days, ds1 was awful today but with mummy managing to stay calm and reasoning with him we had a much better afternoon. Dh is off tomorrow as we are going for ds1's hearing test so I feel more relaxed.

I may be talking out of turn here chelle1986 but even though your dp is working it doesn't mean you don't need a break and I'm sure at least the stupid video games could be given a rest for ancouple of days!! Hope you enjoyed your early night Grin

bananastew · 20/01/2011 21:45

Beadit If you're really concerned go to your GP. Tobys was quite severe. I saw a consultant & she said that by the time he goes to school it should be back to normal. I wanted to go & have kept the letter so that if it doesn't he can't blame me when he's older Grin My neice also had it but I promise once their hair grows it covers it anyway! You can only tell now when their hairs wet!

beaditAli · 20/01/2011 22:16

Thanks cinnamon and banana but what if baldness runs the family???

cinnamongreyhound · 20/01/2011 23:15

It's not just the hair that hides it, really it does get much better!! Anyway it gives some character ;)

Dixiebell · 21/01/2011 04:12

Arlo has a flat head too, beadit. maybe in future it'll be weird to have a round head?! Wink
