Time to start planning the Birmingham Meet Up!

Who's with me?

Preferences and musings on weekday v weekend, whether this is a day trip or a cottage and is February doable or April more realistic?

Exciting!!

Bear in mind that the Easter Holidays are the first 2 weeks in April - well, here anyway. We might go away the first week in April.

Come on, come on, aboard the Brum Bus!

Early April I'm there! But Feb I can't do...

Oh and there's probably space for a couple of people to stay with me at my Mum and Dad's. It's nice and they have lots of wine...

SiameseSnowCat · 10/01/2011 15:25

Ok feb not looking good then, and April is a busy mix of Easter and weddings... Let's see if anyone else comes aboard and then pick a date?

awh siamese your reply made me feel all special Grin
Brum is 3h50m by train so I think too much for a day trip but I have a dog and a toddler to sort out if I have a night away with baby G.
We do go up to Stratford to see DH's gran and extended family and from there it wouldn't be too far to go to Brum and dog would be in kennels and DH could have a day with DD1 but that would have to fit into his rolling shift pattern and I would have to explain to him that I am meeting up with a bunch of lovely ladies who all have babies the same age as DD2 but whom I've never met before but really know quite a lot about as we witter on here daily. I know he won't get it. Hey ho.
I do still want to come though Grin
We might well be going up to Stratford in Feb anyway. Will come back with some dates.
Bristol on the other hand is only 2h30 by train and could be a day trip and melk could skive and have a lunch date with the MMM dentist appointment Grin.
How far is Bristol for the rest of you?

Rindercella · 10/01/2011 23:35

Yes! Yes! Yes!

I wanna do a MMM meet up and meet all you lovely ladies. And Birmingham is a short hop up the M40 for me, so very do-able.

Feb or April are both fine for me. Week days or weekends are equally fine too (how sad am I?!). Will have to bring DD1 as well as DD2 though - are big sisters allowed?

Ooh, very excited at the thought of meeting you all. Grin

Flisspaps · 10/01/2011 23:41

I can do either Feb or April. Day trip please, otherwise I'll have to escape part way through and then I'll be :( at missing the fun. If it is a weekday then I will be bringing my own baby +1.

Bham is only 1/2hr away on the train Bristol is 2 1/2 hrs away with a change at Wolverhampton :(

Rindercella · 10/01/2011 23:43

Bristol is also do-able for me, but is 2 hours away rather than 45 mins.

Ok! Let's pick dates!
Weekend in April looking better then?
Sat April 2nd or sat April 9th?

Perhaps we could have another meet up in Bristol? It would mean that Evitas could see another British city :) and we'd deffo meet up again.

OP posts:
Sariska · 14/01/2011 20:38

2nd and 9th both work for me ATM. Day trip to B'ham should be no problem for me. Bristol probably do-able too.

Rindercella · 14/01/2011 21:35

Either date is good for me at the moment. Can definitely, definitely do a day trip to Brum with the 2 girls.

Where would we meet? What would we do? By then all our MM babies will be at least a year old Shock

I have done some work in B'ham in the past and used to know Selfridges it quite well, but really don't know of any suitable places to go with the little ones.

squiggleywiggler · 14/01/2011 23:46

Yep, I can do either!

BusyMissIzzy · 15/01/2011 13:35

I'm free on 2nd or 9th of April. Pacific said upthread that she might be going away at the beginning of April. When are you free Pacific dear?

Rindercella · 15/01/2011 17:57

Looks like 9th might not be good for me as have potential family do in East Anglia.

2nd is still good. Would dearly love to meet up with you all, so let's hope we can get a suitable date for the majority.
